Although I was not home, the technician spoke with my husband. It was very professional and explained to him what he did with the yard which he did apply fertilizer to clean it up and make it look healthier. I have trusted True Green for three years and I believe they do a wonderful job. I highly recommend them.

Have had issues earlier this summer with response to i sect damage on lawn a d lack of respose, buy am pleased that Trugreen stepped up to core aerate and reseed the damaged areas. The technician they sent, Hunter, did a great and thorough job. Would like yo have him for all of out work- one of their best!
I've had countless issues with my service. From doing 1/10th of my yard to not even getting out of the truck and charging me. I've had to contact customer service time and time again. This is not the location you want to choice and God knows how many other people this is happening to. Get it straightened out.
TruGreen is absolute garbage. Do not purchase. I get texts saying they have arrived, texts saying they’ve finished and no one ever showed up. How many times? I have no idea because I was out of town during several alleged service visits. This time I was home and no one showed. They came back out on that one and then came to seed and aerate the very same day on top of the fresh fertilizer. Brought that big wheeled aerator down between Bob’s house and mine and tore the hell out of my neighbor’s side of the property line and said nothing. Careless employees spread seed everywhere, mulched beds included. Careless employees ran an aerator wheel over my obvious sprinkler head in 2021 and said nothing. Careless employees clean off their mud shoes on my patio - can’t they do that at the shop? Unapproved tree and bush inspections followed by frequent upsell harassment. Never hire. Spread the word to people you care about. If I cost them one customer I’ve succeeded, but I hope it’s thousands. 0 stars if possible.
Robert Hutton was just here to do a Horticultural Oil treatment. I didn’t know what that was, so I asked! He is so nice! He explained then left a “follow up” in his comments on my service summery they leave after every treatment! I am SO IMPRESSED! Very pleased to have TruGreen treating our yard! I appreciate the advance announcements re: treatment, who will be arriving, and when they will be at my house! They leave a detailed report of what was done, and what I need to do for follow-up. John covered every inch of our yard when aerating and over-seeding! And reminded me to water so the seeds can germinate. Ophelia is so efficient and fun to talk with! She’s great! We have been struggling for 30 years trying to grow a nice yard, after 9 months of treatment, we have a pretty & green yard! It’s fall and the grass needs mowed, (it’s not brown and dead!) it’s just been aerated, and for the first time ever, we know what to do to be ready for a beautiful lawn next spring and summer! We are also happy we paid the extra $ for mosquito treatment! There was an immediate improvement! Worth the money for sure!
They came 4 weeks ago and tore up my newly laid sod doing aeration which removed large chunk of it and then left dirt and large chucks of grass it in our driveway. Only completed 1/3 of the service (but I can see on our ring camera and by inspection that was not true) Said they seeded and no sign of seeding I’ve called and they came back to finish seeding but said someone would inspect the Sod damage to have it fixed. That person has never come. Called again a week ago asking someone to come fix it. Still no response. It’s now been a month. Update: Someone came out and said they would refund me so I could pay for new sod, but in the same week another crew showed up to my house while I was out of town and they did it AGAIN! I have no idea why they were coming for a 3rd time in 6 weeks but OMG, I had even more damage done to my yard with what looks like aeration equipment, again. More sod was uprooted from my yard and left in huge chunks in my driveway and backyard, several areas 3x5 foot areas of my yard left completely bare where grass once was, and my garden gate was removed and not put back in place. There were piles of grass seed left on my patio, in the driveway, and in my flower garden. I cannot believe how badly they have damaged my yard. I will be getting in touch with the owner and looking for compensation for the mess they have made.
I wanted to give zero. To start I hired them so that they improve my lawn but complete opposite happened. The service guy came in May for fertilization and spilled accidentally chemical. Most of the lawn was burnt. Then they started charging us to fix the lawn. We keep talking and each time they will cancel the charge and say did the service but we saw zero result. The heights was when they did aeration and charged us which was suppose to be free because it was their fault . Each person promises to fix for free but none of them update on their document. It has been really harassment for us. I wish I had never asked them to take care of lawn. So upset with them. I have attached the picture of first when they spilled and after they said they fixed it.
I did not renew with Trugreen because my lawn looks worse than it did when I used to treat it myself. Im going with an independent local company that does my neighbors yard and his lawn looks great.

My tech today was new I received grub control his name was Chris Ross I believe. Chris explained all procedures walked the yard to identify the grub issues and proceeded with the treatment. I followed his progress and was pleased with obvious skill regarding application of product, the coverage achieved impressive. After completing any of application that ended on my asphalt driveway was quickly blown off at the completion of the treatment. Courteous and thanked me for using there service. Nice to feel appreciated.

I wasn t here at the time of the service but I got a phone call when the gentleman arrived to verify the address was correct he was very nice and friendly. I appreciated his call and I see the post in the yard that says Tru Green so I know he did his job, as far as telling a difference in my yard this is the first day so I really can t say much to my neighbors use Tru Green and their lawns look wonderful so I have a lot of trust in Tru Green. TRUGREEN FLAT SUCKS. They said that they did a services and charged me, when they did not. I called and found out their lies and got my money back. They rushed through everything, had to respray weeds four times and you cannot get ahold of anyone locally. THEY ARE AWFUL AND DO NOT USE THEM!!!
I have had there service for almost 20 years and if there is an issue, 1-call resolves it. With the exception of inflation that has increased the amount charged, I really appreciate TG and will continue there services. Thank u

Tuesday October 1st, 2024 TruGreen Lawn Specialist - Laura Price just left my house (yard). This was the 2nd time that I have had her to treat my yard. She took the time to allow me to point out somethings first before she began. She then started to treat my yard. Laura was VERY courteous, professional and executed her job with care and precision ! For what it is worth, she gets !! from me.

I just wanted an estimate on aeration. Which of course they can t give you without getting every price of contact info on the planet. Then they proceed to send me calls, leave voicemails, texts, emails, send people to my door who ring the doorbell, etc trying to get me to sign up for a $1000/year lawncare plan. It s ridiculous. I contacted two other companies with the same request and you know what they did? Emailed me an estimate for aeration. I will be using one of those companies instead of Trugreen. Predatory salesmen will always turn people off

8 to 12 minute visits? I used to work for trugreen chemlawn back in the day and you cant do much in that amount of time. With the price of the service I would expect more than that!

The job was done so quickly I checked the yard and didn t see as many granules as I usually do, usually it s all over the my side walk I would have to blow it off not any this time.

The service/product is amazing. My lawn, trees and shrubs have never looked better. I was losing some of my established evergreen shrubs. I thought I was going to have to remove them. I contacted TruGreen, they were already doing my lawn, and asked them to come out and see if they could save them. They did. They are thriving, growing and look beautiful. One of my neighbours has a lawn filled with dandelion weeds, the ones that spread like wildfire in the wind. I have zero that have invaded my yard. My grass is deep green, soft and weed free.

I spoke with Thomas Flores today before he applied the fertilizer/pre-emergent. I showed him where my dogs had torn up the yard inside the fenced area and that I was thinking about spot seeding the affected area. He was very helpful and offered to use regular fertilizer in that area and use pre-emergent in the areas outside of that area. Then he spot treated the weeds before leaving. He was happy to offer specific care and was extremely courteous. I couldn t be happier with the service I received today.
The TruGreen rep was here early and did his work before my husband and I were up, so I am answering your survey at a disadvantage. However, since I believe that your company keeps an eye on the weather, we were very pleased to get own lawn treatment in before the rain started.

I dont have TruGreen service and I never have. For some reason one of their clearly unqualified workers sprayed my entire yard only 2 days after my own service did my yard. Not only that but the marker to notify that my yard was sprayed wasnt even located at the entrance to my lot or near the driveway which is awful as I have a dog that was walking all over it for hours. I have a extremely obvious address marker that is visible to even Ray Charles...he shouldve known not to spray my yard.
Driver was very professional explained everything he was doing and what weeds he found. We liked this driver.

UPDATE: As it turns out, it was a tree and shrub application. They called it an Insect and Disease Control , so because I have been (and still am) waiting for the Flea and tick application, it wasn t clear what they were doing. Terminology should be consistent in my opinion. - The technician sprayed bushes and trees. I wasn t sure if it was a tree and shrub application or flea and tick. I was told that they spray under bushes and growth for flea and tick. It made sense that he would spray the bushes/trees, but wasn t sure he covered any ground areas, except for the north side ivy. I also found it interesting that I received a Your service is complete text message before he even moved to the front yard. I think he did the job, just not sure it s what I expected.

This isn t about how the employees work. This review is being made because of the simple fact of it being THIS company allows their Employees to work in the heat, WITH NO AC! The employees complain about it being too hot, clothing being completely soaked & drenched in sweat. Yes of course the windows are down and what not but They are in a TRUCK that only seats two people. IF anyone about Box trucks It gets 10x Hotter in there than what it really is outside. ON TOP OF THAT, Working in the sun/heat for 12 hours a day , 5 days a week WITH no Ac is BEYOND ridiculous. Step your game up Trugreen.
I have enjoyed all of the TruGreen specialists. They have shared a lot of information with me. Robert was going to let me know what I need to get rid of the tiny white butterflies and the spider mites for my delicate plants. I was surprised that a girl was going to apply a product, the most important one to myself and my puppy; mosquito repellent. Catherine was great, a hard worker, very knowledgeable and kind! ( I didnt leave a comment on Catherines review because I couldnt find the review section.) And Fabian worked so hard with the fertilizer plus he gave me work to do, watering the yard. Against my better judgement, I purchased a weed killer service from the local Tru Green. I also purchased an aeration service to be completed AFTER the weed treatments were completed. Of course, Tru Green sent someone out to do the aeration service BEFORE the weed treatments were completed and while it was over 100 degrees outside. Both conditions would hamper the overseeding included in the aeration. What s more, this occurred despite my speaking with several Tru Green personnel advising them not to come, and their agreement to reschedule. To compensate me for their mistake and deliver on the aeration service I purchased, they scheduled a free (but already paid for) aeration appointment and then cancelled via text at the end of the scheduled service date. This after telling me several times today that their person was en route. I ll see if another date is scheduled before winter or prior to my yard being smothered with leaves. These people are disorganized, non-professional, and fraudulent. They are a CLOWN SHOW. Do business with them at your own risk. For me, it will definitely be one and done. You ve been warned
It is important to be present when a Trugreen technician comes to your place, in order to make sure you get what you really need I had been spraying weed killers because Trugreen hadn t sprayed the weed killer treatment as agreed. I setup my lawncare with TruGreen few weeks back and someone came and put fertilizer the next week and asked me to contact customer care to have the aeration and seeding in the spring for both my property. I called customer service to understand the timeframe for aeration and seeding and to get to know more about it since both my property had different lawncare needs. I really felt like they have some novice people handling customer care. If I ask them is it better to have it in spring or fall depending on the bald patches and weeds in one property and good grass with little weeds in the other property. customer care person kept asking what do YOU want?. If the weather is bad during the spring time will you move it to a different date/month? again what do YOU want? Looks like I need to be an expert in lawncare to deal with the so called lawncare experts.
I had TruGreen for some time. I had to cancel because their treatments killed my lawn. Really annoyed they keep calling me trying to get me to renew. Wouldnt recommend .

The sales person on the call was so pushy borderlining to harassing me when I said I just wanted to know the pricing and I have not decided yet on using their service. Please don t call them. Do not go with True Green! Spend a little more and go else where. I paid for a year up front. They came March 16th. Then nothing. I called and asked why they had not come. They couldnt tell me. ? Today was a no show. Customer service is terrible! Supervisor unavailable. I wont be customer for much longer. I asked for someone to call me. I guessing I wont get a call.

Just don t do it. Save yourself the money and the time. I started using this company on Aug of 2021 with a brand new house and brand new sod. My backyard is now a brown patch of nonsense. After several people came out to fix it they finally admitted they over fertilized would do whatever they needed to fix it . That equaled a free aeration a service in the fall. Wholly inadequate. Not only that they insisted I prepay for another year to get this free service. I attempted to cancel my account yesterday and asked for a confirmation email to be sent. It never came and this morning I woke up to a new $170 charge. Total incompetence, atrocious customer service. Hours and money wasted. Just. Don t. Do. It. Thee are plenty of reputable local lawn companies. Don t make the mistake I did.
Please don t waste your time on this joke of a company. Paid for a full year in April and just now got my first service a week ago. Was now informed I got too good of a deal and that they would be refunding me because they don t want to honor theie quote. Lequnna with customer care was absolutely rude and didn t want to help at all. The manager Damon flat out admitted they didn t want to do our yard because of the deal we got. Please please go elsewhere
Today was my first treatment. Sales person who sold me the service said the first treatment would be both weed control and fertilization and at 50% discount it would be $35 and will cover my 5000 sqft front and backyard. They showed up today and did a 5 min front yard spray and left without touching my backyard. I was charged $98 for a 5 min spray in 1/3 of what they supposed to treat. Called CS several times but no one was able to help. I am still waiting for them to call me back. I have a camera so all the service they have done is recorded. Very disappointing. I am canceling my service. Tried to cancel my service but they won t allow me.

Shady company that will charge you for services that dont actually get done. Unless you work from home and can actually see the people doing the service to your lawn do not use this service. I work from home full time and on at least 3 different occasions I was told my service was preformed when I knew for a fact it wasnt. My desk overlooks the back yard and I have two dogs who also would have (and have) made it very well known if someone was back there. The most recent offense: this past Tuesday I was supposed to have my yard aerated and overseeded. They claimed to have done it at 8:06 am. I got home from dropping my kiddo at school at 8:03, having been gone less than 10 minutes. At no point before leaving or getting back did I see a Tru Green truck. Upon checking the back yard it was obvious neither service had been done. Called and cancelled my account right then - only get get a call today that theyre coming out tomorrow?!
Unbelievably bad service from this scam of a company. I watched from my window as their tech rolled up to my house. He placed a note on my door claiming to have aerated the while yard and to have overseeded the whole yard. He then did hop on his plugger and drive it around the front yard. Then he put it back on the trailer and drove off. He never even opened the back gate, he never took the spreader off the trailer, he never put down an ounce of seed. I called their number and got some call center where a girl told me they would come and do a free reservice. I said well, its not exactly a reservice if you didnt perform the service the first time. She could not provide a date when the reservice would be done. I check my account on their site and it says that Im going to be charged $238 for the less than 15 minutes of labor they performed. So I tried to cancel that payment. The site would not let me cancel the payment or delete my payment information. So I messaged them and spoke to another person who said they would cancel it for me. They did terminate my service, but they did not cancel my payment. I contacted them again and was assured the branch manager would contact me to discuss it within 72 hours. 72 hours? It takes you 72 hours to respond to a client that you are attempting to STEAL $238 from? It takes you 72 hours when that client absolutely watched as your tech lied about the service they didnt perform and drives off? I woke up this morning to see that the $238 has been deducted from my card. DO NOT HIRE THESE CON ARTISTS!
TruGreen has been reliable when many other services weve tried were not. Just had them aerate and overseed our lawn. All good but left my fence open and left skid marks and dirt all over the concrete patio. Just make sure you coach them on this stuff or be there to guide them. Otherwise, nice job.
Update: Well after claiming someone was going to come no one showed up and if they did while I was not home for the one hour there is no evidence other than a text and email saying my service was completed but no summary left at the house like there was as at the first service. Original: Large portions of my yard were not aerated and appear not to have been seeded during my service today. I was also told by the service rep Israel that a verticutting was also going to be done when I paid for this in advanced several weeks prior. I wanted to be home for the service to help monitor but the technician arrived while I was dropping my daughter off at school and was gone by the time I was home. Less than 30 minutes. I also did not get an estimated arrival time until the morning of. Job appears rushed. We will see how the seed germinates and I am on a strict watering schedule to ensure maximum germination rates and use automatic water times on the sprinkler system I have. I paid $414 for this service as I was doing a full lawn renovation which I told Israel the salesman yet he kept insisting this service would be what I needed. The technician was listed as Jaylen. Hopefully some of this comes in but I have a feeling I will need to apply more seed on my own and possibly do some manual aeration.
Updating the review to 1 star. Their aeration and over-seeding team canceled and rescheduled the appointment 4 times and never ever showed up to the property. The reasons for rescheduling are - cant find property, machine is not functioning, appointment not confirmed (even though I can see it as confirmed on the app). They come up with innovative reasons to cancel/reschedule an appointment. They dont even give you a call if they cant find the property or cancel the appointment. It is up to you to call customer care to know what happened and have it rescheduled. For the lawn care plan, they are supposed to come every 4-6 weeks but they only show up once every two and half months.
If zero stars were an option that is what Id give. Used Trugreen for years. Last fertilization, they did my neighbors instead of mine. So I called, and they said they would take care of mine and talk to my neighbors.. Well, came back 6 days later and DID MY NEIGHBORS AGAIN! They just got their lawn fertilized by their company (who I will be going to now), so that means 3 times they have had their lawn fertilized in 7 days. I have talked to support 4 times now asking for an area Branch Manager and have been told 4 times theyd call me today and calling my neighbor to figure out how to deal with this issue they have caused them. It is now after 6pm and still no calls. Now Im calling and being asked if Id like to escalate, lol. Ya think? I have no way of actually talking to anyone about this other than just submitting tickets. Any company where you cant actually talk to someone after something like this is not a company you want to do business with. Take note Trugreen, I will not stop calling, and the longer you wait to call and deal with my neighbors problem the bigger issue you are going to have on your hands.
Poor service, bit had enough when the guy came to Fertilize and then couple days later you can see exactly where or.shall.i say where he did NOT Fertilize. Have you ever seen a zebra in your backyard. Well you can come see mine because its completely striped I will try to add photos for your reference.

I spoke with a representative and canceled my service in the fall... and out of nowhere I all of the sudden have an email asking me to rate their recent service... 1) I found that they did not cancel and they charged me for a service on March 11th. Again, I had previously canceled so why do you have my card and why are you showing up? 2) My security camera shows that they see that someone already treated it... yes, the very day before I had a reputable and reliable company here. The guy literally looked at my lawn and left minutes later. No one left a slip saying what they had done but yet I was charged. I received no notification prior to them coming either or would have let them know not to! 3) They ruined a big spot on my lawn and said they would have someone come back to reseed. They sent someone but it still isnt fixed and the lawn looks worse than before I hired them. 4) This is my third time calling their 800# in less than 24 hours and it took over TWO HOURS to get someone to help me. TWO HOURS I SPENT ON HOLD. Its incredibly unprofessional to not take cancelation requests or allow the customer to do so themselves online but require they speak with one of your reps. No one can cancel because you cant get a single rep on the phone. THIS SERVICE IS HORRIBLE.

DONT USE THEM. Ive used TruGreen for some time and have had smaller issues which can happen, but they are not what it once was. Have mosquito service and technician wouldnt go in back yard (we had a sign about dogs to keep gate closed) but Dogs were inside. He simply left. We were home. so I rescheduled. Again, didnt even make an attempt. have cameras showing dogs inside, doors closed yet he didnt do application. Third time. sprayed the front yard only. Time stamped cameras showing only the front done, just skipped it, but they still charged me for entire yard. Today they are supposed to make their 4th stop on this service. When I call customer service its an hour wait. online chat? - 45 people ahead of me. Finally got a call from someone 3 states away who was simply a reasonable and understanding person and has tried to get it resolved. Left notes on the account, but they were ignored. Look for a local provider not the local franchise, cause this one is bad. Real bad. and the company overall has limited capacity for customer service. Website shows only 5 star reviews. Clearly thats a lie. Look on Facebook. there are groups of people going on about missed services. charged for services not done. Its on and on. At least they cant hide this review.
Kansas, Overland Park. I have been a Customer of TruGreen for more than one year, and still my grass looks ugly. I got full service including overseeding. The service is bad and low quality. An emploees never friendly and never inform us of what they are doing.
I like what I seen some of their lawns, so I thought I would call them up and find out about their mosquito treatment. They told me they spray the whole yard up to the foundation it would stop fleas ticks and mosquitoes but be perfectly OK for my vegetable garden and doesn t affect bees or butterflies. Asked them what chemicals they use and they said they didn t know. Quoted me an outrageous price (over $500) not 39.95 as advertised. I told him I wasn t interested thank you for their time and they ve been blowing up my phone all day. After multiple calls I decided to answer one they asked me how can I they help (as if I d called them), I told them to remove my number from their list so they hung up on me and then called right back again with a different operator Bait and Switch advertisements, harassing phone calls, unknowledgeable employees. I understand they ve been buying up a lot of the local lawn services in town, being the big fish in the pond, and there is a wildfire of complaints to accompany. Some thing I ve learned to do when starting a service with a new company is to call their customer service as if I was already a customer and see how easy it is to get a hold of a person, request new or cancel services. Just try hit with these guys it seems like they re taking lessons from the AT&T model of promise them anything to get them on the hook and then hold them hostage and threaten them when they try to cancel. If this is all it takes maybe I should open my own lawn business

I would not use Trugreen again! Very poor service. Neither did their lawn application kill the weeds nor did their tree and shrub control the pests. When I informed them about this I was told they would refund the money and would charge me only half the price for the present application but Th yes charged me the whole $69. Going to discontinue their service!
Do NOT do business with these people. This is one of the most unprofessional businesses Ive ever had the misfortune of dealing with. First of all it is impossible to actually speak with anyone once you sign up for the service. Of course youre able to get right on the line with someone if you want to sign up for a new service...otherwise be prepared to wait over an hour to speak with a real person. The actual service itself is a joke. I signed up and paid for an entire 7 treatment season and paid up front, (big mistake). Ive received 2 applications. No one ever told me they were coming either time. They arrived and were at my residence for less than 5 minutes and then I received an extremely vague email explaining the service they provided.
Update: I cancelled my services a month ago and changed my credit card because of Tru Green not showing up or providing services. Today they showed up without any notice, no phone call no email. The technicians broke my gate and destroyed my drain spout where it connects from the house and goes underground!!!! I encourage you to read other reviews I have posted for other businesses, click on my name and it will bring them up. I have never written anything negative or less than 5 stars. Please do not use this company even if you are desperate!!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE TRU GREEN FOR ANYTHING!!!!! I was billed for June and no one showed up. Today they parked the truck put an invoice on my door and never treated my lawn. I have the entire thing on camera. I ran outside to stop them but as soon as they saw me they drove off. Called about 5 times but the automated system won t let you speak to anyone. Last time I called I wasted 2 hours of my day to be told someone would follow up with me, which they never did. Changing my credit card number and disputing the charge. It s a terrible operation that is set up to take your money and offer no service. This is the first negative review I ve ever written for anyone but this company deserves it.

Yard never looked that good, so I got some cameras and put them outside and found out they would just show up and then drive off after 10 mins. Took over the yard care for myself using the grass pad idiot proff system and it looks souch better.

I tried to cancel service after a year of their product/services not improving my yard. They offer a guaranteed product so they offered a complimentary aeration and application then would cancel my account. It was a nice gesture until they tried to charge me for it. Now I get automated calls from them telling me I need to call an 800 number regarding my account. Please cancel my acct and stop calling!
Stay away, they are horrible. See my yelp review. Bad service, no response when you call them, improperly staffed. Much better with a true local Kansas City company. They are not the TruGreen of the past.
Sprayed our lawn by accident [were not even a customer], and after contacting them, they never followed up to apologize or explain what chemicals they put on our lawn.
Signed up for basic lawn services. The first few treatments seemed to go well. I was then charged for a service that I didnt sign up for and asked for a refund. I called three times about the refund and I never got one. Had a salesman named James call me today and try to sell me additional services when I still havent gotten my refund. I asked about the refund and also let him know Im not happy with the condition of my yard (lots of various weeds in it). He pushed the blame on me for the weeds being in my yard and pretty much said I wouldnt be getting my refund for the services I didnt ask for. They are pushy and too pricey for poor customer service and services. I would not recommend.
They came to apply weed killer in the rain, charged me full price, when I ask for them to come and redo it, they sent a guy name Kyle out and he argued with my husband and refused to redo the work and left. After calling on two occasions I still have not received a call from a manager.
I own an inhome daycare and have children getting eaten alive by mosquitos. Called Tru Green to come out and spray thinking they were a big name company and could get the job done. Came out once and sprayed (were late) and before they came, we made sure all the toy buckets, etc were emptied. They put on the report that we had standing water everywhere even though i made sure there wasnt. After the treatment we were still getting attacked by mosquitos AND.. we now have mold growing on our grass and in our vegetable garden and mushrooms growing everywhere. Never had either of these before we started using TruGreen. Called them for a retreat. Took them 5 days to come back. They showed up late and IN THE RAIN.. To treat for mosquitoes. It was literally raining when he was treating the yard and YET AGAIN, he put on our report that we had standing water.. Well no duh! It was raining while he treated the yard. Now we have very upset daycare parents and have to find someone that will actually get the yard treated. Needless to say, we will NOT be continuing our service with this company.
On two separate occasions, they treated my neighbor s lawn. Had talked with manager and gave them a second try. They treated neighbor s yard and charged my credit card. Houses are clearly numbered. These guys are licensed to apply chemicals and can t read house numbers!
My lawn looks identical to last years (which is bad and weed ridden), they subcontracted one of my services to a company who did work, charged me with a bill, and failed to notify me they were doing so. In short, if you have my experience, you are probably looking at wasting your money.

This review is less about the experience I had with them and using their service, but more about how the approach to prospecting for new customers. I work in a sales role and understand the concept of cold calling and business development with potential new clients. What Im not a fan of is someone coming up to my door during a time when many are working from home and pounding about as hard as they can on my front door in the middle of the afternoon. I get it...most people in the corporate world are working from home and its a good opportunity to get in front of a potential new client. Their rep employed the quintessential used car salesman pitch and when I told him we use Ryan Lawn he became even more aggressive on selling me. The guy wasnt super professional and the abrasive approach to selling TruGreen services didnt do him any favors. If you want to knock on my door do it in the early evening when folks arent tied up with work. Wont be using their services and will be sticking with Ryan Lawn.
Beyond frustrated with the service. Started out great with the first two treatments. Since then down hill. Had a service rep come out for a free reapply, drove around then left. Watched him drive around for 45 min, delaying the service call. When he returned he walked around and at times did not even look like he was spraying. Recently had aerate and seed done. Rep sat in the truck not working, finally did the job and tore up the yard. Barely could see the seed. Then the wrong price was charged. Such horrible service

HORRIBLE COMPANY/BRANCH!! Was promised a healthy yard with brand new sod fall of 2019. Set watering as directed, mowed as directed. Spent the year pulling weeds, calling trugreen local rep Jonathan for reservists who became unresponsive. They have basically ruined my brand new sod. Recently prepaid for aeration service and reseeding. 4 weeks ago guy was at the house for a half hour and skipped over 1/2 the yard and the seed was hardly visible. Was promised a reason service and a rep to come out and the best I can do is get the 1-800 line that says sorry and let me reschedule someone else to do a very pathetic job. In process of cancelling. Don t waste the time. Find a local pro or do it yourself!!

Horrible service. Left our back gate unsecured twice and our dogs got out. After the second time we cancelled our services since they kept leaving our property unsecured. Now they re charging us extra fees for cancelling.

I literally have the nicest looking lawn in my neighborhood, thanks to TruGreen. They have worked with me very well on when to show up at my home for the lawn treatments and the prices are good too. UPDATE: Spoke to a manager who has started the process of replacing my 60+ plants. They are all being replaced because he could not legally tell me if they were safe or unsafe to eat only that water and rain should eventually wash away the chemicals. 4 months of work going in the trash. Thanks TruGreen. They do services for my nextdoor neighbor. They sprayed over the top of my 6ft tall privacy fence and onto my vegetable garden. There is a heavy smell of chemicals all over my brussel sprouts, golden raspberries, lettuce and garlic. Great! When I asked the technician if it was safe for edible plants he was very rude and unprofessional. He said I dont know under his breath and walked away. I got no more answers from him and he left very shortly after. I called the company and it took 3 transfers to find out theyll probably be fine to eat. Im currently waiting for a manager to call me back now to have this confirmed because apparently TruGreen is a company comprised of field technicians and customer service that know absolutely nothing about the effects of their chemicals/products.

Absolutely worst service ever ----------------Update--------------- On the third attempt I hat a 12-5PM schedule, they decided to reschedule it for 5-545PM. I called and asked that as a 3rd attempt to get lawn care I would take priority and my situation would have met the criteria to be serviced during the normal timeframe. I requested to speak to a manager which they stated there was none and of course were all out on site surveys, so I requested a site survey so i can speak to a manager in person. I really wish they would get their act together and not treat people with such poor service. I will most likely do everything I can to ensure my neighbors switch to a local lawn care company even if it means me covering the difference. They came to my house a few days ago and they did a horrible job. I should ve looked at the reviews before I had them come to my house. I called them for my sprinkler system and the man did fix it because it wasn t working but he didn t fix the sprinkler heads. He did change them but they still don t work. He also had a attitude with me and ruined my carpet in the basement. I didn t like their service at all.
Love true green um worked for them use their mosquito plus program as well as I used there a tree and Shrub program I would recommend them to anyone must know though if you dont water your yard the programs are Not gonna work Not efficient like you want them toBe

My husband and I paid upfront for a lawn treatment plan, including aeration and overseeding, to be done this year. With my husband s schedule, we did this to make things easier for ourselves and to finally have a nice lawn. Time after time, people don t show up during the designated time slot (sometimes theyre hours late, but most of the time they just don t show up at all). The person who was suppose to seed my yard showed up with the wrong supplies, couldn t perform the service, marked the job complete, and I ve had to fight to get them out here to actually do the job. It s been scheduled for 3 different days at this point and it is still not done. Now it s getting into freezing temperatures at night. The grass seed won t establish very well. We paid for what we thought would be a better service than this. I m actually giving 2 stars, though, because our yard looks so much better. The treatments work, but TruGreen has been a royal pain to work with. We most likely will find a different company to work with next year.
(Updated) after posting 1 star for service 4 months ago. I gave them 3 chances to redeem themselves and finally canceled my service last week. I have found them to be extremely unreliable. I will save you all the issues we had with their services but my last straw was aeration/overseed was scheduled way too late in the season to begin with and at the reschedule rate, it wouldnt have happened until the first snow fall. No show after no show and rescheduled dates seem to not matter because those get rescheduled too. Word of advise... Do not pay in full up front for the year. Thank goodness I did not have to fight for a refund.

Truly terrible communication and the lawn care is horrible to boot. Love it when they reseed, and then put down crabgrass preventer, which will likely kill any seedlings.
Great Lawn Service very professional
I had their service for 2 months. They skimped on lawn treatment both times and claimed I wasnt paying for whole yard service - not the terms I agreed to. After dropping them, they continue to harass me twice daily a year later. Do not go with them unless you enjoy incessant spam calls despite requesting to not be called and want poor lawn service managed by crooks.
Amazing lawn care.
I signed up for a quote from TruGreen because my neighbors had used them. Since I did this they have littered my email with spam, constant phone calls, and now they have put me in a group text with over 300 people and my phone is constantly alerting me that I am getting texts. I have left the group message multiple times and was put in there again. Not happy with their aggressiveness even after telling them to stop.
In the process of getting a quote for weed control. The person who i talked said he was the manager and was so courteous when he called me first. A few days he called me again and I let him know that I signed up with another company. He immediately just cut the phone. Happy that I did not end up signing up with this company. Would have had a hard time dealing with such rude folks. Will never do business with them again.
All around fail, to many stories and epic fails. Bottom line after the Scotts merger its been down hill. Poor quality of service, poor execution over promise and under deliver. Was at one time a top shelf company ( Scotts) now I see them only doing one thing well, monthly billing seams to be on time and maybe accurate.
Hired trugreen lawn service at beginning of summer. They started a lawn maintenance program to control weeds on entire yard. Next application didnt notice any weed control happening, weeds were going wild. 3rd application still no difference in weed control, at that point contacted Trugreen & was told service tech went to wrong house so they came back out. By this time installed video doorbell. Trugreen came back out for next application & what was seen on video shocked me. Tech pulled up, sat in truck about 4 mins, got out of truck & placed cone at rear of truck, he never pulled out or had any equipment in his hand, came up to front door & rang doorbell, walked around side of my home and walked back around side of house zipping pants & tucking in shirt, went back to truck, sat for about 4 mins then walked to my front door & put bill for service that clearly he did not do. First time Ive ever gotten billed for someone taking a leak in my yard. Contacted Trugreen & their response was Do you want us to send him back out. I responded Heck NO, I want to cancel your services Truly wish I could have downloaded this video for you all to see

I booked them the last two years in February and it is always April when they show up for first application. We live in Tonganoxie that may be why the service is so slow. We are on the edge of their coverage area. Not real pleased.
My yard was in great shape, but due to a busy schedule I wanted someone else to do the treatments. I had more weeds and brown patches in my yard than ever before last year after using them. When I decided to re-seed the brown spots last fall myself, I discovered grubs, even though they supposedly treat for it. They did try to come reseed and fix the damage, but their seed never really came up. Areas I patched myself did grow, so it wasnt a watering issue which they insinuate. After canceling, I bet I have had a half dozen different people call and ask me to come back, each of them seemingly oblivious to why I left in the first place. Last week, one of their reps called and we chatted for a while - he would be my contact, he would be personally accountable to me, etc. He said he would send me the pricing and follow up with. My wife and I decided if he called back as he said, we would give Trugreen another shot. Tonight, another new guy called - he took over the last guys papers and that guy transferred. Unreal. They seem to be franchises so results may depend on the individual you deal with, but I have finally decided we have had enough. Many other issues I left out trying to get the warranty work performed on the damage to the law as well.

Trugreen has helped our yard look nice in the summer! Trugreen has been maintaining our yard for a few years and Im very satisfied with their work. They work fast and diligently. They always answer my questions in a pleasant manner.
Literally will not stop calling me. High pressure sales and my neighbors say that they hate them too. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, as they are a SCAM. Spend more money on scammy phone calls than any actual lawn service. I asked them to stop calling me so many times and they never stopped.
My most recent experience with TruGreen was, as usual, excellent in all respects. The employee is quick, quiet, and extremely well-qualified. The employee accomplishes the task at hand with an efficiency that is admirable. Im glad to have chosen TruGreen to provide service to my lawn.

I have had a few major weed problems in a few areas in the past. My Truegreen specialist this year worke hard to get rid of them thanks to truegeens good work. Lawn looks great and real green.

I have done business with True Green a number of years. It is my rental property. It does help to have True Green to do the requirements to keep a nice looking yard even though I do not see it every day. They are very prompt when they send a E mail when they are coming ( they are there) .
I do not recommend this company. I have been with them for almost 3 years, and their customer service is horrible, they send trucks over that apply wrong chemicals, that their sprayer dont work... , I have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to explain my problems, and waited and waited ... I am waiting for 3 weeks this time, they came twice and applied wrong material kept complaining and they finally sent someone over today whose truck wasnt working and couldnt apply chemicals ..after 3 years of them monitoring my lawn I shouldnt be going thro0ugh this should I ? I called again today informing them that I am upset and their man couldnt service my lawn after 5 days waiting because of his truck..............they said we call you back. That was it. So, if you want to go through what I am going through, hire them.
After 5 years of caring for my lawn, I thought Id get better results by using a well known company like TruGreen. Boy was I wrong!! I have more weeds, crabgrass and headaches than ever! Not worth the money and the customer service reps do not listen, are rude and inadequate in solving issues.
I wish I could leave negative stars. Thiefs and frauds these guys are. I have too many complaints to mention. The short of it, they do what they want when they want and bill you for it, including $365 aerations. The customer service makes calling the cable company seem like a joy. Dont expect a call back from a manager ever! There is more, so much more. Save yourself a ton of headache and go with ANYONE else.
DO NOT prepay for applications. Once they have your money, you are no longer a priority. They havent treated my lawn in almost THREE months (when theyre supposed to service every 4-6 weeks) and I have weeds everywhere. Not to mention the TERRIBLE customer service. Fool me once.
I read some of the bad reviews and I wish I had listened thats why Im leaving one here. They will bill you for services that they didnt perform and they will only partially treat your yard but dont worry when they come back out they failed to show up 2 or 3 times but eventually theyll get it right and then fail again. The last straw for me was scheduling another service on top of a service that was just performed if I hadnt said anything It would have been an over application and that could have been bad, if not just a horrible waste of money. Management is great theyre really good about apologizing and taking care of you but theyre probably only paying their help a very basic wage and they just dont give a damn and because of that Im out.
When I returned home I could see the evidence that the TruGreen man had been here to do the aeration and reseeding. I looked around at various places in the yard to see if he had covered everything and he had. He did a good job! If we get as good results as last year from the reseeding I will be very pleased. It has taken time, but the yard is looking better now than it did before.
My brother in law from Dallas,TX recently commented on the greenness of our yard. I told him weve had enough rain, we dont mow the grass too low, and we have TRUGREEN! Our yard usually a wonderful green color and lush with no weeds! Very seldom do we ever have to pick weeds. Having TRUGREEN service our yard is the best money weve ever spent!
They burned out our lawn and applied grub control when it was not ordered. A manager showed up to inspect the lawn, stated he would credit our bill for the problem, and then failed to do so. I had to repeatedly contact him via e-mail before the bill was finally credited. I repeatedly asked them not to apply fertilizer if leaves were not racked or mowed over yet, and they willfully applied fertilizer despite my request. The rep on the phone simply stated that we should just mow over the leaves which would release the fertilizer on the grass and soil. Mowing over the leaves does not properly release the fertilizer on the grass. I know this by looking at our lawn. The areas where there were no leaves to begin with are quasi green and the other areas are completely taupe. I refused to pay for the last two lawn applications, approximately $100, because our lawn looks like it hasnt even been treated. A collection agent called our home three times in about five minutes, each time with me answering the phone, which isnt legal per the Fair Debt Collection Act. They can only call once per day if a person answers the phone. I began calling on 12/31/2014 for a supervisor, and I placed three to four calls before a manager called me back. More specifically, they gave the excuse that they had the wrong phone number on our account, and they were not able to call back due to the incorrect number. They gave this excuse each time I called, each time I corrected them and gave them the correct number. This seems like a convenient excuse considering they had the correct number before) when calling our residence. Moreover, I e-mailed a manager on 01/10/2015 and received no call back or e-mail. Therefore, since no one had called me back or e-mailed by the 15th of January, I filed reports with the BBB and the Attorney General. On 01/22/2015, I finally received a call back from TruGreen. They stated they would send someone out to look at our lawn. On 01/27/2015, a rep showed up at our residence. While he offered to repeat the lawn applications, I told him no, because I had terminated our service with TruGreen and had hired another company. He then proceeded to say, then why am I here? I told him it was because we needed our bill credited, that he needed to inspect the lawn, and that I had no desire to continue to use them due to the problems over the last year. Their rep then began to argue with me, stating that our lawn should look taupe because it is winter. I pointed out the green areas of our lawn, the other lawns in our neighborhood, and reminded him that they applied winterizer. He then jumped the gun and stated the company that we hired must be lying to us and claiming that our lawn should be greener. Not so. I told him I know someone with a horticulture degree, that my grandfather was a farmer, and I know what our lawn should look like; moreover, we have had our lawn treated every year since we moved here in 2006, and it has never looked so terrible. He then stated that a person with a horticulture degree wouldnt know what they were talking about because they only treat shrubs and that my grandfather was only a farmer and didnt know what he was talking about. This explains why our lawn looks so terrible, since any reputable company as large as TruGreen would hire employees that actually know what the field of horticulture does; they treat fruits, vegetables, algae, fungus, woody plants, and handle turf management: residential and business lawns. When I told him that I didnt want to argue with him and ordered him off our property, he told me I was rude. Finally, he stated we would continue to get collection calls because he would never credit our bill, stating our lawn looked fine, even though he had offered to retreat it, a blazing contradiction, but more specifically because I was rude to him. Employees should not be allowed to make subjective judgments about a customers attitude, nor should they be allowed to refuse to credit a customers bill based on their judgment of the persons attitude.
I am very pleased with the staff and the work they do. My yard is doing better than when I tried to take care of it. Although I am retired I seem to be away from home often. The staff have been very understanding and I try to schedule for good times that works for both of us. Thank you. bob h
Their service was fine, but the 1 star rating is the harassing phone calls you will get when you stop being their customer. Had to block their number for them to stop calling repeatedly.
I had True Green last Summer. Here is why I gave them one star: 1- When they were selling me the service, they claimed that unlike other companies, their application is liquid and not granular which supposed to be more effective. That was only true for the first application, the rest is no different. 2- When they started, they normally left a flag in the yard with a piece of paper that describes what was applied. The last two applications, they did not leave any paper or flag to indicate what they applied. 3- I called the company and brought it to their attention that no flag or paper work was left. The said they wall send somebody to make those two applications within one week period to our lawn. I inquired if it is ok only one week where normally it is 4 - 6 weeks, they said it is ok. Of course they never came. 4- The bill for the last two (supposedly applications) was sent to collection agency, I called again just to find out they never came back again as they claimed. I paid them and closed the account just to avoid the headache. You would think that having a company to care for your lawn and pay them a lot of money will give you a piece of mind, true green proved the opposite.
