Exceptional experience with Lightning! Had a fairly sizable job replacing almost everything in my front planting beds. Alex was helpful and responsive in the front end getting the plan and estimate together. Derek was the project manager and he was wonderful to work with during the execution phase. He even went and picked out several palms and plants to pot in our backyard. Thanks to both of you! Highly recommended.
I can’t say enough good things about our backyard renovation with Lightning Landscape during the Spring of 2023. We went from a makeshift fire pit area surrounded by weeds to a 1300 ft paver patio with short retaining wall. We also included a built in fire pit and water feature. Alex helped us plan our project and oversaw it from beginning to end. The entire project took about two months, and included drainage, lighting, and irrigation. Every worker we encountered was polite and obviously took pride in their work. They were also terrific in keeping a clean work site and helping us keep the peace with our neighbors during this process. We are so happy with the high quality results. Their workers are true craftspeople. I love sitting outside and watching the birds play in the fountain. Sometimes I take my computer outside to work. It has drastically improved our enjoyment of our home and I’m so glad we didn’t wait any longer to do it! You should definitely consider Lightning for your landscape/hard scape project.
Sim and his team did an outstanding job with our backyard landscaping project. Sim was creative and thoughtful with his design and really listened to our desire for low maintenance, hardy plants. The cost of the project was very reasonable and they were quick to get us scheduled. Sim arrived with a large crew to complete the project in a day and they were extremely considerate and kept the yard tidy. We couldn’t be happier with Sim and his crew and have hired them for our front yard project as well.
We had several yard landscaping projects which were handled in a professional and excellent manner. We are so pleased with the outcome! Our patio is wonderful. They took the time to design and ensure we were happy with the results. Our front yard landscaping projects turned out so well. We have received so many compliments from family and neighbors. This company is the best! Also, if you need a company to help with your sprinkler system, this is the one to call. Fantastic!
Back in the early 90s, i can remember Chris doing our landscaping and doing a great job. I had no idea he actually owned Lightning. I was pleasantly surprised when , in 2016 , i moved back to KC to see that not only was Lightning still around , but thriving under the same owner. Chris Edin. The boys over there work their butts off. They just did a drip irrigation job over here and they did great. Im proud to have those Lightning flags in my yard , and you ought to be to.
Lightning did an expensive overhaul of our front yard with new plants, rocks, mulch and sod. This was after we had to dig up our front yard due to a sewer pipe leak. Not only did they do a beautiful job, but it was done quickly and very professionally. The whole crew was very easy to work with. Lightning is at the top of my list of any contractor I’ve ever worked with and I am 71 years old!
I called for a repair of a broken water irrigation pipe, the receptionist was courteous and quick to make the appointment. I had the pleasure of meeting Jason (the irrigation manager/water magician), who was extremely pleasant and professional. He fixed the broken pipe literally within 10 minutes and he was conscious of my sod and landscaping during the repair. He even took the time to adjust a few sprinkler heads that I just couldn't get to set correctly. It was very refreshing to work with a company that has absolutely wonderful employees and I highly recommend Lightning Landscape!
Love our new in-ground sprinkler system. Installation was quick and our yard didn't take long to heal. Jason and his crew were very friendly and knowledgeable. Update: Have now used Lightning for a landscape project, too. Great crew and our new landscaping looks great!

I would highly recommend this organization after speaking directly with the owner, Chris. He was able to assist me with a scheduling issue I had promptly and to my satisfaction. His team made sure my sprinkler heads were working correctly and I feel confident if I have any issues they will address them.
This company did a great job in designing a way to prevent water runoff in a way that beautified my frontage. So happy I found them! Recommend highly.
Sim, Jesse and Dustin are the best at what they do and provide. You can get lawn services from anyone in town but, its the intangibles they provide such as consulting, personal care and attention to detail that set this team apart from anything else in our area. They educate you on your lawn and plants and do it because they care!

Exceeding our expectations, the Lightning crew executed a complete makeover of our backyard. The consult was professional and prompt, receiving a competitive bid the following day. The project began as promised - prepping the tortured lawn, then installing drainage, sod and mulch. The crew was respectful of our property, tidying up each day and kept us apprised of next steps. We could not be more pleased - exceptional work!
Setting up an appointment was a pleasure with Tracy and Jason was fantastic as an irrigation educator and service professional. Currently in the process of having additional landscape work quoted and hopefully completed. Will continue to do business with this company.

These guys showed up at my house, buried 4 downspouts, and mulched the entire area in a few hours to fix my drainage problems that caused a marsh in my side yard. Very very professional and fast. Reasonably priced as well. They WILL be hired for more work.

I have worked with Lightning for several years and I have always found them to be friendly, professional, and responsive! They look at the work as I would look at it as a homeowner and provide great service with a knowledgeable staff. Really good folks!
Jason came out and spent about an hour looking over the property and asked a few pertinent questions. He then prepared the proposal, including diagrams overlaid over the GPS landscape map. We chose his proposal because it was reasonable, because we were convinced of the companys expertise when looking at other completed projects and the guarantee of parts and labor. Installation was quick and healing of disturbed ground will continue in the spring.
Weve been working with Lightning Landscape for many years now. They do all of our landscaping and lawn care (except mowing... we have neighbor kids for that.) They do great work and at a reasonable price. They show up when they say the will. I highly recommend Lightning Landscape... my brother uses them... my parents use them... they are just great.
