Doehling does a great job with our yard. They always keep you informed on when/what treatments are being applied.

They fired me as a customer. They ve done fall and spring cleanup for a couple years. And they did fertilizer for several years. I ve only had two interactions with the owner Matt. He s unprofessional and frankly rude. Last fall he knocks on my door to complain about my back yard because I have a privacy screen. And the fence gate is too small for his huge lawnmower for cleanup. I told him it hasn t been a problem in the last 2-3 years. So wasn t sure what he s talking about. I d just say there are better options with owners who understand customer service. Be wary of choosing Matt and his business.

We used Doehling last summer for the first time and they were great. Always communicated when they were coming by and responded to communication in a timely fashion. Our yard was in rough shape from a previous owner and it started to revive itself after just one year. Noticed less weeds after just one season. Excited to use them again in 2023

Doehling not only did a much better job with weed control, but they also spent the time to stop and discuss the lawn with me, providing pointers on how I can help make things better. We seeded our new rural property in 2020 and struggled to get it to a look that we were happy with. I consulted with Matt and he took the time to go through the various options that were needed to get the lawn where we wanted it. HE did an excellent job of bring the lawn to our desired look. Emailed the company inquiring into our annual lawn treatments and got someone who was unpleasant and said they had not renewed our service. And would not give a reason. He proceeded to question why I thought they may have renewed our service which I replied that I didnt know if they had and that was the reason for my email. I was taken back by how short and angry he was with us for inquiring about lawn service this year. They had been good to deal with in the past however.

Our lawn has never looked better! Prior to using Doehling our lawn was patchy, fried, and crunchy. We made the switch to Doehling a year ago and just with one year of applications our lawn was lush and full at the end of the season! Highly recommended!

We hired Doehling when moving into our new house last year to help with the lawn so we could get a handle on the other aspects of owning a new home. They came highly recommended by our neighbors and upon initially calling to setup service I learned their services were already booked up for the year (disappointing for us, but a good sign of their quality). I left a message anyways to get on the list for the following year. To my surprise, the owner called me back and let me know theyd be happy to fit me into the current year as I was already next door to a current client and the additional time needed would fit their schedule; I was very happy! Every interaction Ive had has been very positive - They offer options for how you may pay and each time I call with questions about my particular service or lawn care in general they take the time to explain everything carefully and courteously. I can see why this company has such great reviews after using them for one year - Doehling offers fantastic value for money.

Direct quotes from the owner in two separate emails when we expressed our lawn was too soggy for their equipment to begin Spring fertilization: Having to come back for your home is not ideal, at all, as you are on the edge of our service area. However our schedules do matter, and if you want to determine exactly when treatments will be done, then perhaps you should seek out a different service option. A condescending attitude that absolutely screams : 1. We are considered marginal, at best, to your business interests, and 2. that you don t really don t give a s t about your customer s feedback or their business. We re an imposition and not a valued customer. We took him up on his offer. Not a good fit. Edited after owner s response below: The owner would have you believe he s a victim and the consummate customer service professional. He is not, and other one star reviews indicate the issue as well. He forgot to include his last and final hissy fit response with his capitals and exclamation points. I never said that we are doing it on this day or else, NOT ONCE!! So don t tell me I m demanding or nonflexible. Yet, I m being so unfair. You reap what you sow.

Matt and team is very responsive and has worked with us to reschedule treatments if needed. They tell us ahead of time when they will be arriving, get the job done quick and I have no complaints!

We used Doehling last year for the first time and had multiple neighbors compliment the nice looking yard. I felt Doehling heard our concerns, unlike some competitors we used in years past. They take their time, very thorough. Also helpful with responding to general lawncare questions we had throughout the summer. We were referred by a neighbor and have been referring since. I started using Doehling in 2020 for fertilizing and lawn care needs and I can say my yard has done a 180 since starting to use them. They do a great job of notifying you when they will be out, very friendly service and a good price along with it. Being a previous DIYer in this category it has made me believe that its better to leave this job up to the professionals, Doehling it is!

I moved to Shakopee in August 2019 and hired Doehling to take care of my lawn and sprinkler system. Since I had no experience with a sprinkler system Mike took the time to explain how it works and how to shut it off for the winter. My lawn looked great before winter! :)

I was always hesitant to hire for fertilization, until last year when I let my yard get too far out of control. I called Doehling, and they were able to turn my yard around very quickly (weeds gone) and keep it looking that way the rest of the year. With Doehlings application bundle, I dont expect any issues this year!

Summer 2019 was our first year with Doehling and our yard looked great. Also they were flexible enough to work around our active construction work.

They do a great job of keeping our lawn green. All I need to do is mow the lush grass and let the irrigation system do it s job. Choke out our weeds quickly too.

I would highly recommend Doehling Landscape Services for your lawncare needs. I switched to them last year and my lawn has never looked better in the six years Ive been in this house. They are very professional and have always answered my questions same day. They are very thorough when answering questions as well, which demonstrates their customer service and their knowledge. The communication is great, you know exactly when they will be at your house ahead of time and you know what in detail what service they will be providing.

Last year is the first year I had a lawn service and I was very happy with the results of my lawn. It freed up a lot of my time clearing weeds from the lawn. All I had to do was make sure it was watered and mow. You may be able to find a service for less money out there, but I doubt you will find anyone who does a better job. I plan to renew early this year as I got a late start last year. I would highly recommend.

These guys are great. Our lawn was in bad shape thanks to the poor care of our previous service and they had it looking great in no time. Theyre always willing to answer questions and give advice and are great at communicating what they are doing and when they are coming. Highly recommended.

My husband has always performed our yard maintenance but this past summer after using Doehlings services for the first time our yard was absolutely beautiful! Our lawn has never looked as good as it did last year. Everyone that I have interacted with from Doehling have been very pleasant and professional. I inquired about having additional services performed and they were very honest and told me that it wast necessary which demonstrates the integrity of the company. They could have made a lot more money off of me but were honest. I highly recommend Doehling Landscape.

My husband is very particular about his lawncare and asked that we try a lawn service last year after a fair bit of winter kill/vole related damage combined with some pesky crabgrass. After a lot of research, Doehling came highly recommended and we chose to go with them. Doehling has been great to work with, gives us plenty of heads up before coming out to apply each time, and has definitely done great work in clearing up the crabgrass and other weeds that were frustrating my husband! We renewed for another season and are very happy with the service.

We noticed last summer that after hiring them, we encountered many areas of dead grass appearing after their treatment of fertilizer and weed killer. We decided to wait it out until Fall, had them come back, and our lawn still wasn t looking good in random areas. These dead areas of grass never came back. Fast forward to this spring, and our lawn looks worse than it did last year. It s absolutely embarrassing. The neighbors lawns on either side of our house both look way healthier this spring than ours. Saddest part, is that all they use is the basic Scott s fertilizer from Lowe s. The areas of deadgrass in our yard look like this company overused fertilizer. I would not recommend this company.

Great service, and w/I weeks yard is coming back.

We would not recommend them, look elsewhere. Lack of professionalism when it comes to any problems with their service. They do not at all react well to any criticism They applied a fertilizer and sprayed a weed killer on my lawn last week, July 18th. Roughly a day after the service, we began noticing spots of dead grass on our lawn. We strongly believe this lawn company was negligent in the use of the weed killer, especially since they noted the high heat and humidity as an excuse when confronted about these dead patches. If the high heat and humidity was a concern, why did they still apply the weed killer and fertilizer. When contacted again, the company immediately stated that the dead grass was attributable to lawn disease. This is after we sent numerous pictures to them of the grass and they had came out to inspect the next early morning. We contacted the U of M Horticulture Department and their plant disease clinic, along with our county lawn specialists- all have replied that it was suspicious that the grass died so closely to the application and that it is unlikely that a disease would occur or kill a lawn within a day or two. They also stated that the high heat and humidity could have made it more likely for the application to have killed some of the garden. We will be sending a sample of the lawn to the lab to confirm whether it contains a disease or not. If it comes back negative, we will be taking further action. We were hoping to resolve this issue with the company directly, however they were adamant that this was a disease and not the result of their service- despite the fact that some of the dead grass occurs in direct lines from their spray when applying the weed killer in a sweeping motion. The company would not provide the details of what weed killer they used or their application rate. We wanted this information for the testing of the grass to see if it had a fungus. The owner of the company also became hostile towards us and canceled services, hanging up on us. I am happy their service is no longer being provided, but they could have been more professional. Matt Doehling became very hostile again, saying he would sue me for abusing the justice system . He also rationalized that the applicator, whose name is Mike Anderson, who visited our house had never had a complaint in 20 years and would not have one now after so long. While emailing them, Mike got very agile and defensive, pretty much saying he would never damage property. We mentioned how Mike poorly spread granular fertilizer in the grass around our landscaping. The end result was that the fertilizer was all over in the soil of our plants. We ended up having to go out right after each time he visited to quickly remove all granular fertilizer around our plants, so their fertilizer would not over fertilize our already fertilized plants. The fertilizer spreader they use easily threw fertilizer 3 ft away from the lawn and into our plants. The response back we got from Mike was, all the random landscaping was difficult to work around. Again, if you are not comfortable performing what we hired you for, then why did you do it? Either do the work correctly and with care in the first place or not at all. Matt stated he will refund our remaining visits, but he will not refund the visit that damaged our lawn, which is what we would like too. In addition, we are looking for them to replace the lawn they damaged. We will update on what happens. All in all, be careful with this lawn company. They may act nice, until you confront them about any damage on your property from their service; then their true personality shows.

No professionalism at all. Guy who claimed to be the owner was rude and when confronted through his arms up and asked if there was a problem. What a joke of a way to run a company!

Matt has been excellent in responding to all my emails regarding fertilization, weed treatment, sprinkler blowouts and aeration. He is knowledgeable and has been great about sharing with and educating me on lawn care for my new sod. I ve decided to go with all the services except for aeration. I might try it next year. His voicemail said they were booked for the year in 2018 but he still responded to my voicemail and added me to the roster for fertilization and weed treatment. His prices for all of the services are better than the other companies I had shopped around with. His service and communication have them all beat. I never heard back from at least 4 companies that I had emailed and called a couple times. I told Matt I d like to learn about lawn care so eventually I can just do it myself and he was perfectly fine with that.

I called On Thursday and they were here on Monday morning to do the Fall Clean Up. It was late in the season and to have such prompt and friendly service was so nice. The guys that came out were quick, efficient and very respectful of the property. I am going to switch my lawn care to Doehling for 2018.

I originally thought i could take care of my lawn treatment on my own, but I quickly realized i needed the help of a professional. My lawn has made a nice recovery since hiring Doehling, and I have already signed on for another year of service!!

In the past, I have tried to fertilize and care for my lawn by myself, When that brought less-than-stellar results, I tried Tru-Green. Even with their high prices, I always had weeds in my lawn, especially dandelions. They promised that they would come back and retreat the dandelions, should they appear, but they didnt tell me that come back meant in two or three week! The first year I hired Doehling to treat my lawn, it was like night and day. NO dandelions, and the greenest, most lush lawn I have ever had. Year after year, the result is the same. Doehling knows what they are doing, and my wife never has to announce to me that there is another dandelion in the yard! Thanks Doehling!

About 3-4 years after struggling with trying to keep up with maintenance and overall appearance of my yard, I looked for a local expert to assist me. Being it was a typical new home with poor soil conditions I knew it was going to take a process to get my yard to perfection. Not only after meeting Matt and his crew was I pleased with the knowledge and expertise, the results came quicker than I expected. Doehling Landscape services has been applying fertilizer and lawn treatment to my lawn for the past 3 years. My lawn has never looked so green and healthy. Simply put, Doehling saved my lawn and was extremely professional and reasonable in the process. I have a lot of clay soil and last spring my lawn was completely brown and would not green. Doehling came highly recommended and immediatley after contacting them they came out and I had the six treatment service over the spring, summer and fall. Within a few days of the intial treatment my lawn starting coming to live and by the end of the summer/fall my lawn was in great shape. New construction with a seeded lawn. I walked the neighborhood scanning lawn quality and found that the nicest yards on the block were ALL serviced by Doehling. I called them in a panic with fresh grass sprouts ... and the dense weeds that come with it. In short order the weeds were fading leaving room for the grass to grow. By the end of the season, I had a lawn that looked like a 3 year old yard; not a 3 month old yard. Excellent service and kind customer relations too!

We started using Doehling Landscape Serbices several years ago and we were very happy with them at first and recommended them to many of our friends. Since that time they have grown considerably and the service has become horrible!!! They are weeks late for every application and the products they are using just do not work. Very disappointing!

We wanted a service that would do it all - mowing, fertilizing, aeration and fall cleanup - mostly because we were frustrated with separate services blaming the other for less than great results. With Doehling, we got exactly what we wanted. A beautifully maintained always green lawn that everyone says is the nicest in the neighborhood. Now the grass is always geener where we live. Love it!

We live in Chaska and have used Doehlings Landscaping since 2013 for fertilizing and weed control. They have been great to work with and offer very competitive pricing. I really like the fact they send an email a couple days before the next scheduled service date as it gives me a chance to plan accordingly on mowing the lawn and making sure the toys are out of the yard. Additionally, they offer a 10% if you pre-pay for the full years services which is nice. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I moved to my house in 2012 and found it hard to stay on the schedule of fertilizing my lawn. Two neighbors have great looking lawn and they told me about Doehling Landscape Services. The company started fertilizing my lawn in 2014, and I am now pleased with the service they provide. They even postponed the fall fertilization one week because of the garage addition project with stuff all over the front yard. Oh, their pricing is very, very reasonable in comparison to big corporation franchises.

We did have some issues with weeds two years ago in which the application was incorrectly applied - and was quickly fixed by the company the following week. I had minor issues last season with some clover / dandelion weeds that the chemicals may have been diluted too much or not sprayed thoroughly in all areas - mostly close to the house or close to existing bushes / trees in the yard - but I am confident they will correct this issue this year. Overall - I would recommend their services as it saves me time, money and I am satisfied with my yard from where it was two years ago before selecting Doehling.
