The dream team. Devonshire came out to my initial apocalyptic wasteland of a yard that defied several of my DIY attempts to salvage the situation and they completely transformed it into my new favorite place. They listened to what I wanted out of the space and were so friendly and helpful in refining it all to just the right project scope for balancing all my needs. The biggest item was the pergola structure extending from the roofline over the new patio and Rick and the whole crew absolutely knocked it out of the park. Its functional and gorgeous and a dream come true to have an all season space outside. The yard, thanks to Katrinas plant curation and design, is now a lush garden that is endlessly enjoyable to spend time in and it has downright transformed the feeling of the whole street. Im very excited to witness it grow and change throughout the year. Devonshire went above and beyond many times throughout the project to make sure everything was satisfactory (including hauling away existing junk that was unrelated and not their problem), and they autonomously attended to many details that created a very polished final result. The project only hit a couple snags and they were incredibly accommodating and reasonable in getting to good solutions. They checked back often to make sure everything looked and worked as expected. I was so happy with their work that I had them do a few more things that were originally cut from the project scope, and I would work with them again in a heartbeat.

Cannot say enough wonderful things about Devonshire! We were impressed from the very first meeting and Im happy to say they lived up to the expectations. We met with a couple different landscaping companies, and the others came out and gave a quote for the absolute basics without helping us to talk through our vision. We dont know much about landscaping design so we didnt know what was and wasnt possible with our budget. Devonshire came out and met with us for over an hour just discussing all the options for our yard and helping us see what our budget could turn into. It was so inspiring and helped us realize that we could have the yard we wanted. They then sent us a line-item quote that allowed us to pick and choose the items we did and didnt want easily and without hassle. Then - and most importantly - they delivered. They removed our sod, graded, altered our deck, added gravel walkways and installed beautiful drought-resistant plants. They were fast but thorough. Classic Blow and Go service. Dont bother. After charging $275 a month all winter to blow our pathways and stairs bi monthly, they canceled the service citing that parking was too difficult They also need far too much direction.

Weve used Devonshire for two large-scale projects since we purchased our home and have absolutely loved the outcome on both. Rick and his team work very hard rain or shine to make sure their work is top-quality, the job site is clean and organized, and the output meets our requirements. There may be delays due to understandable product availability or scheduling availability but absolutely worth the wait for the end result. Across the two projects, Ricks team completely redid our front yard, expanded our irrigation system, extended our backyard, including rebuilding a fence and adding a paver patio for hot tub, in addition to completely rebuilding our second story back deck, awning and stairs. They can do it all with great skill, highly recommend!

We hired Devonshire to remove a rock wall between two neighbors, and construct a block wall with a wood frame, steel wire fence on top. They were professional, the crew was very easy to work with, and they did a fine job, and within 5 days. The project manager, Rick, was responsive to questions to the very end. Devonshire Landscapes just finished installing our new fence, and we couldnt be any happier with the process or the finished product! We wanted something that was a little more custom and detailed than we were finding at other fence companies. When we described what we were looking for to Will, he understood exactly what we were asking for, and made us feel confident that they could make our vision happen. The final product turned out better that we could have hoped for! We decided on a 6 wooden security fence, with cedar posts in pipe and horizontal pine boards. We also had the crew remove our back deck stairs and reinstall them, with a newly built landing, on the other side of our deck. It flows so much better now! The crew also removed the very old, dilapidated chain link fence. It was gone before we even noticed! Will also offered some additional ideas for our backyard that we would have never thought of, and now we couldnt imagine our yard without them! Thanks to his help, we now have a pocket door at the back of our property to access some previously unused space, an amazing fingerprint scanner lock, and a new layout for the deck! The Devonshire Landscapes crew was very professional, on time (or even a bit early!) and great to work with from start to finish. They were super friendly, and respectful of the sometimes early hours and the quiet neighborhood. They left our house looking like something on HGTV! We will definitely be having them come back next year to replace the front deck!

My husband and I are the new non-gardening owners of a Shorewood home formerly owned by serious gardeners. It became clear pretty fast that we needed help with the large yard. Devonshire was one of maybe 4-5 firms we contacted, and they really stood out. Dan Vittetoe came out to give us an estimate, and he was just great -- professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Answered our naive questions cheerfully, with no sense of rush. Gave us a timely estimate for an extensive yard clean-up that came in well below the only other bid we were able to obtain. The cleanup and bark installation was carried out in early August, and the yard looks SO much better, and so much less intimidating to a novice gardener. Now I can actually face the prospect of working in the yard and taking some steps to transition to a lower-maintenance landscape. And meanwhile it looks so much more presentable, like someone actually lives here. To get it that way, the crew worked hard and steadily for 2+ days and removed lots and lots of stuff. We were impressed with them. Noah (not 100% sure of name) was the lead and took these great before and after pictures. Five-star cleanup, no doubt about it. We have also signed up for regular maintenance with Devonshire, but have not started yet so that report will come later.

We had a family emergency that required our landscape and entry to be handicap accessible and we couldnt be there to oversee the changes. Devonshire rushed into action and completed the project in two days to meet our needs. Unexpectedly, its not just handicap accessible, its beautiful!

Devonshire Landscapes provides top notch service and their crew is great. Just recently they cleaned up my yard, mowed, weeded, edged, etc and removed 5 shrub and tree stumps. They did a great job on the yard and I was very impressed with the way they took care of the stumps. Last time I had it done the guy ground up the stump and left me to deal with the sawdust and smoothing out the lawn. Devonshire made sure the area was cleaned up the sawdust removed and the lawn smoothed out. And they charged less for the work. Ive hired them to take care of the yard at a very reasonable price.

Devonshire Landscapes is a fantastic company and I highly recommend them for any landscaping, irrigation, or lighting design, as well as any routine landscaping maintenance! Rick Fox has taken very good care of us and our property for the past 3 years with any landscaping design elements. Rick responds very quickly and always makes time to swing by your house at your convenience to meet with you to discuss your ideas and any questions. Rick helped me design a very cool landscape lighting layout of our yard and his crew had all 28 fixtures installed in a single day! He also helped update our older sprinkler system by replacing worn parts, changing out sprinkler heads, and installing a wireless controller and connecting to my phone. When routine upkeep of our property became a challenge, we contacted Dan Vittetoe at Devonshire who put together a very well priced annual maintenance plan. This is not your average blow & go service. These guys go above and beyond my expectations. Not only do they keep your yard looking fantastic, they meticulously prune, hedge, and fertilize with great care at the right times of the year. Theyre very accommodating and always take care of any special requests we might have with our yard. Again, I highly recommend Devonshire! Quality company, service, and people!

I needed to have some HUGE bushes removed, and the Devonshire crew took care of all of my garden problems. The crew had to carefully work around many pots and a drip irrigation system. They even needed to take a climbing plant out of my trellis. I briefed them on the project in the moring and left for work. When I came home, all of the work had been completed perfectly - not a single pot or drip tube had been harmed, and my trellis was completely clear! The huge plants were gone, just as I asked. I couldnt have asked for better workmanship or a more pleasant and respectful team of workers. All of this great workmanship, and the price was very reasonable. Excellent communication and I have been very pleased with the quality of work.

I had an extremely positive experience working with Devonshire. I initially filled our their email form on their website and was replied to within 24 hours, over the weekend! The rest of the process was also very timely, which I greatly appreciated. They were also really helpful; we were not getting much landscaping done, more of a spring cleaning, but we needed advice on some new plants and they were able to help us with that and work within our budget. Now that the work is done I am very happy with the results. We have a small yard but lots of different plants and things get a little overgrown looking. Now it looks neat and manageable! Plus the final cost was very close to the estimate, which is always great. Overall, great company with great people!

We first contracted Devonshire Landscapes Inc. in 2013 to install a paver patio in our backyard. We worked with Will upfront. His communication and responses were prompt, accurate and thorough. Will Anstey, owner of Devonshire Landscapes, was project manager during the renovation of our yard 8 years ago. Although he was not contracted directly with us for the renovation and did not design our lighting system, twice since then he has taken personal responsibility to replace parts of our lighting equipment that had stopped working. Both times he did this for no charge, and these were not quick fixes: each fix involved multiple visits to our site and repeated orders and reorders from the manufacturer. You cant get better customer service. Wills maintenance crews do our heavy maintenance about three times a year: shearing hedges, repairing tubing irrigation, delivering/spreading mulch, planting trees, etc. Wills Maintenance Manager, Dan Vittetoe, is a pleasure to work with: responsive, courteous, friendly, positive, willing to do most anything we need, and right there when we have a question about service we received. I recommend Devonshire Landscapes: it is a dependable, customer-oriented company.

We recently had a garage built and permeable pavers were required for the driveway. Devonshire Landscapes submitted the most reasonable bid for installing Ecopriora pavers and building two retaining walls using Manorstone blocks. Rick Fox, the installation manager, was attentive to the details of the design we had in mind. Frequently we have dealt with contractors who have listened to what we wanted and then failed to make sure their employees did the work as specified. That was definitely not the case with Devonshire, we got exactly what we wanted and in a timely fashion. Their workers were courteous, friendly and always willing to explain the work as it progressed. We would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Devonshires work is impeccable. I first hired them for an annual lawn and landscape cleanup, and now I have them as a monthly service. Communication is very quick and easy, and the teams do an amazing job on my lawn. What they are able to accomplish in one hour would normally take me an entire weekend, and it looks so much better. Their annual lawn maintenance programs are very customizable based on your budget.

After struggling and settling for years with other yard maintenance services (unreliable, inconsistent, unreachable, high-pressure), Dan and Will and Julio and the rest of the Devonshire Landscapes crew have been a godsend. Dan and Will are easily reachable and highly responsive by email as well as phone. I have a regular, predictable schedule with the same crew chief on most visits. Julio is a true professional, cares about his work, takes pride in doing a great job, and is delightful to talk with when I happen to be home. The crew leaves a hang tag after each visit detailing exactly what work was performed, and sometimes asking questions or leaving suggestions for next time. I never feel pressured to agree to extra work. They respect my budget and leave me fully in control of the timing and scope of additional projects. I have already happily referred friends to Devonshire Landscapes and have been thanked for doing so. You can find cheaper yard services, but you wont find any better value.

Been working with Dan and his team on both one time projects and a regular service plan. I have bene very happy with all of the work so far (about 2-3 months so far). Dan was very helpful in coming up with a customized maintenance plan for me that was tuned to my house. He presented me with a few customized plans to hit different price points, I picked one and have been very happy with it. I like that the service crews leave a write-up of all the work they did during each visit (and hangs it off of my front door). That way I know what gets done every visit. I had Devonshire do a big one-time clean up of my landscaping before starting on the maintenance plans (they did not push for this, this was something I wanted to do). Anyway, Dan spent a lot of time with me walking around my yard, educating me on what was growing around the place and how to take care of it. After they were done with the clean up the place looked great. Long story short, I am glad I have hired them and would recommend them for any maintenance you might need.

We had Devonshire come and do a fall clean up on our yard. that was 3 months ago and it still looks fantastic. we look forward to using them again in the spring

Great job. Courteous and professional. Scheduled the work to be done within a couple weeks when everyone else I called was too busy to even give me an estimate. Then they came back a second day to finish up what they couldnt finish the day of the job, - I wasnt even aware more was to be done - so they could have skipped on it, but they followed through. Good crew.

Devonshire Landscapes is extremely professional and they do excellent work. We hired them for a large project and they delivered on time and within the budget. They took great care to attend to all the small details...I couldnt be happier.
