We recently worked with Outdoor Design by Oz to complete a outdoor patio project where we wanted to completely redo the patio flooring. My husband and I went into this not really knowing what we wanted, but knew we were unhappy with our current patio. Christine and Oz were great in helping to take our rather high-level and disorganized thoughts around what we were looking for, and turned it into a design that we both really liked (which is not an easy task!) From there, we moved forward with the tech, on-site review to finalize the details, materials, space, etc., then they kicked off the work. Both Oz and his teams that executed the work were very efficient, friendly, and engaging throughout the process. They worked extremely quickly and efficiently, and had the project done ahead of our original target completion date. For the most part, I was able to work the entire time with limited interruption from them, only pinging when they had critical decisions needed. All in all, it is very difficult to find trustworthy and high quality contractors for home improvements given the hundreds of companies. We've had bad experiences in the past, and we're happy that we have their team to go back to for any future projects outdoors. We are already thinking through another landscaping project for the backyard that we will likely partner with them on in May 2025. I highly recommend you contact them if you want a high quality, friendly and trustworthy company to work with for outdoor home improvements!

If you are looking for a design/build firm to make your outdoor landscaping oasis dreams come true, Outdoor Design by Oz is your team! We loved their online portfolio and came to Ozzie, Owner, with a very complex large and tall retaining wall project for our backyard. We enjoyed working with their team so much that after our backyard was completed, we signed on to do our front yard and driveway with them! After our initial meeting with Ozzie and Christine, Designer, they knew right from the get-go that our project will need to go through the 3-6 month permitting process with the City of Seattle. They also let us know early on that a structural engineer, geotech, and site surveyor were needed and they would be handling the coordination process. We felt confident in signing the contract after our meeting since they were detailed in explaining the entire process to us from design conception, permitting, to construction. Christine came to us with fantastic designs, while making our challenging backyard as usable as possible with the large retaining wall. She listened to our needs, made design adjustments to fit our lifestyle, and also stopped us from making decisions that would not benefit us (very important!). She quickly turned around updated drawings and renderings and gave us great suggestions on where to shop for materials to create our desired look and feel for our backyard. Ozzie got us through permitting smoothly and we were ready to start construction! He and his team were amazing throughout the entire process. We encountered several material delays that were outside of anyone's control and he was very communicative on timelines while we waited for things to arrive. Ozzie and his team were very accommodating to making adjustments during the construction process to make sure we got things built exactly as we envisioned like pattern layouts, tile layouts, and lighting placement. We had an incredible experience having a patio built on the front of our house by the Oz crew. From the design steps to the final cleanup, they have been kind and creative and took care of every single detail. I know nothing about construction and they held my hand through each step! I'm only mad we didn't do this sooner!

We used Outdoor Design by Oz to redo our townhome yard. After an initial inquiry, Kevin & Christine came to our house to understand the space, our needs and budget. They identified improvements we hadn't considered, explained how each improvement would impact the design and budget, and didn't pressure us into any improvements we weren't interested in. Once we had a design we were excited by, the crew Paulo and Bennie quickly made that design a reality and transformed our blackberry forest into a usable yard. It feels like we added a whole new "room" to our home, and use the yard exponentially more than we have before. We'd definitely use Outdoor Design by Oz for any future outdoor projects!
5 star resort in my backyard - I have recommended my designer, Christine and my project manager, Renato, to everyone I know. I had no idea what I wanted when I called her. She had great questions about how I wanted to use the yard and what was important to me. She came back with an amazing design at a very reasonable cost. Their communication was timely and professional and the project was completed on time and on budget. I am in my backyard year round now and it has become the neighborhood "bar." The best money I have spent on my house.
We just completed our second project with Oz - Two years ago, they transformed our weed-prone backyard and replaced it with a beautiful stone patio and fire pit (which we use often!). Our backyard has become our extended family's go-to place as it is very COVID friendly, lots of space and room. Most recently, in the front of our house, our cracked concrete driveway/walkway has been beautifully updated to a HUGE stone driveway and new stone backlit stairs leading up to a new deck to our front door. Now that we are home all day, every day, we are enjoying the new 'look' of our house. Definitely contact Oz for your next project!!

I had misfortune of crossing paths with this company in the process of developing a patio for our home. They sent a representative who provided a very attractive quote. This quote was conveniently devoid of dimensions of any kind, as well as details of the materials to be used. The moment I paid their nonrefundable 10% deposit, the estimator was conveniently replaced with someone else who insisted that somehow our project scope had changed and as a result our estimate increased 150%. Suspicious, we went about obtaining four other quotes for the project and found that this company had intended to charge over $10,000 more than even their most expensive competitor. The lack of details in provided estimates, the non-refundable deposit, and bait and switch tactics are designed to leave customers with no recourse but to over-pay. There are many other landscape companies in the Puget sound area. I would recommend going with literally any other outfit.
l spent 5 months working with them. They say they are a high end firm and yet couldn t handle our project. Their backyard design was in ms paint, they had no idea about what materials was needed, they don t have partners to support and had to scramble for 6 weeks to find a person just to do a permit review, they had no plan or schedule. In general just a mess. I would avoid at all cost. Guaranteed their reviews are paid fakes.
I was dreading having my front yard and deck re-done because its a big project and I really didnt want to manage multiple contractors and designers and the whole thing. Thankfully I was lucky to find Oz and company who not only handle everything but do an amazing job at everything too. They designed a complete redo of our front area but did such an amazing job that Im still stunned its ours! From the moment we started talking to them they were quick to respond, friendly, and professional. They spin up a slack channel for you and our designer Christine worked with us to architect a truly impressive and incredible outdoor space. The craftsmen who did the stone work and wood work were impeccable. As with all projects there were hiccups, but Oz and his team were on the ball about them all, often times being the ones who found the issues and raised them first! In the end we were on budget, on time, and our outdoor space is something our family is going to treasure for many years to come. Do not snooze on Oz! It is absolutely worth it!

Best contractor Ive ever had! On time everyday, stuck to the quote, and had the foreman check in with me everyday. Best part is the same crew showed up everyday from start to finish - no subbing out to different people. Really, really, pleased with the work and craftmanship. Looks like a whole new yard and for a fraction of what other contractors wanted - would highly recommend Outdoor Design by OZ. Next project goes to them - no more getting 3 quotes and I know they do quality work!
Ozzie and his crew took our neglected, unusable backyard space and turned it into a beautiful hardscaped oasis. We purchased our home in September and knew immediately the backyard space needed some updating. We quoted out the work with a few companies but Ozzie and his team helped us develop a design and was super responsive from the start, even following up to see if we had any additional questions between conversations. The demo and project team became like family as they worked tirelessly for months on our project. We looked forward to seeing them each day. Their eye for detail is amazing. They always checked with us for design decisions and were never frustrated when we tweaked scope after they d started on something. They re professional, dedicated and friendly. During the big rain in December, our basement flooded. Coming from sunny Southern California, we didn t have the first clue how to tackle the flood. Our project manager didn t hesitate and jumped right in to help us move furniture, pump out water and troubleshoot a solution to stop the water flow. He worked until 7pm on a Saturday night just to make sure we were in an okay place before leaving. 100% recommend Ozzie and his team to anyone looking for an upgrade to their outdoor space. Their work speaks for itself but the amazing team that will help you improve your space is a great bonus.
I believe referrals are the best resource when finding a contractor for any type of extensive home project! I first met Ozzie by way of referral from a high school friend! After my initial meeting with Ozzie, I was a bit overwhelmed with the overall estimate for the scope of work I was looking to have done. Ozzie, very clearly and professionally, explained that projects that large, are usually done in phases. It took about a year before we were able to begin Phase 1, and even though we shopped around, I had the intuition when I first met with Ozzie, that he was going to be our guy! Ozzie walked us through every phase of the project, initial design ideas based upon what would work within our budget, demo, build, and follow up after completion. His knowledge and experience are impeccable, and the workers he hires are just as exemplary! The love they put into the construction of turning our side yard in a patio oasis is beyond measurable! Can t wait for the next phase to begin!!!!

Oz and team did a fantastic job on our backyard and we are overly satisfied with the end result. Finished on time, within budget, and made some excellent design recommendations along the way. The entire team was extremely friendly and professional from design until completion. When things didn t go as planned, Oz and team were fantastic to partner with and they adjusted on the fly and found creative ways to stay within budget. I would highly recommend them and I plan to continue using them for additional projects in the future.
We met oz at the gardening show in Seattle. Hes been awesome, and came in more reasonably priced than the other quotes we got. We love his designs, and our yard went from wild overgrown garden to a place our daughter can enjoy. The installation was impacted by the horrible snow storm, but even with the setback the team was professional. This is one of the first times I have felt that I actually had a contractor deliver on what they promised.
We moved into a new home - newly built in March 2018. The backyard was small and the concrete patio 10x12. We met Ozzie at the Home and Garden show and immediately it was a team effort. We had several bids and because of Ozzies style and we felt honesty we decided to go with Outdoor Design by Oz. Two months later (we needed HSA approval) we have a brand new gorgeous large patio and a separate sitting area. The backyard looks amazing. Ozzies install team was kind, courteous, and great designers. We so enjoyed working with the entire team. We highly recommend Outdoor Design by OZ. You wont be disappointed.
