Went to website. Ordered mulch. Delivered the next morning. The whole experience took 5 minutes and was extremely easy. Prices and delivery are fair. They even called when they were on their way. I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely be using them again.

Their pull up firewood pickup service is the best! Fare price (if you do the math compared to cord prices) and the crew politely helps you load it! Every tree company and firewood delivery service wants to sell no less than a half core. I needed half that much for my Solo Stove outdoor nights and no place to store extra firewood. It was a bit far (30 mins) but I decided to give it a shot and it was totally worth it. I pulled in and received immediate help loading up the back of my truck, paid at the front desk, and I was off to enjoy some fireside evenings!

Ive used The Yard twice now over last five months; in the spring for mulch, and more recently for a 1/2 cord of firewood, gearing up for winter. Super easy scheduling right on their website, and super-quick delivery (within a day or two) Their delivery guys have been excellent, both times they were out. Experiences have been easier than I imagined. Def recommended.

Extremely fast delivery! The driver was courteous and pleasant, and even gave advice on the easiest way to move the firewood into my backyard. September 2024 update: after purchasing small amounts locally, I purchased another 1/2 cord of seasoned hardwood. Ordered it on Sunday night from my firepit and it arrived Monday before noon. Driver was polite and professional and dumped exactly where I wanted. Average moisture was 10.6%. April 2018: I purchased 1/2 cord of seasoned hardwood. Price was fair, delivery was very quick, quantity of material was correct and quality is good. I measured 30 logs and got average moisture content of 8% (5-12% with most being ~7%).

Have used the Yard on 2 occasions in the past year. A few yards of top soil recently and stone in the past. The process is easy and convenient on-line. Both times VERY satisfied with customer service, the product received, and awesome drivers that are professional. I will continue to use them in the future.

I love this place. Ive been ordering mulch and soil from the yard for years now. The prices are always really good, and the extra charges for stuff like delivery are reasonable. Especially if youre ordering at least a few yards of something. Ive ordered both online and by phone and the process is always easy either way. You usually dont have to make an order more than a day in advance. Ive even called up first thing in the morning and gotten deliveries later that day once or twice. Every driver Ive had is excellent. The Yard will call you when they are loading the dump truck so you can put a tarp down or do whatever else you want to do to get ready for your delivery. The truck shows up 30-60 minutes later. Ill tell you, these truck drivers are something else, watching them work is a treat. Whether its one yard or ten, they know how to dump it out of the truck bed exactly where you want it and nowhere else. Also, I really like using undyed mulch becuase its got a natural look, and Ive only ever found it at The Yard. Not Home Depot or Lowes. I think you can go to their address and buy stuff and put it in your own vehicle, but I cant speak to that because Ive never done that. Im not sure I ever would, either. The delivery is just too convenient. Dont waste your money or time buying bags of mulch at Home Depot and making all those trips back and forth to your house. If you need at least one or two yards to mulch your beds, just call up The Yard and get a delivery. The last few years my neighbors and I have picked a weekend to do all our mulch spreading and we get one big order of 6 or 7 yards of mulch, get it dumped in one of our driveways, and split the delivery cost. EDIT: Actually, one more thing. Ill show you the math. Right now, in 2024, The Yard is charging $33 per cubic yard for brown or black dyed mulch. A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet. Bags of Vigoro black or brown mulch at home depot are 2 cubic feet. Youd need 13.5 bags to get a yard. Each bag costs $3.33. So if you go to Home Depot and buy 13.5 bags youd spend $45 total. So, if you needed two yards of mulch, you could go to Home Depot and spend $90 to haul 27 bags into your car and bring them home, assuming theyd fit, or, you could spend $66 + delivery, which probably works out to about $90, and get better mulch delivered to you.

I cant believe how expensive this place is to throw wood chips . I think its a robbery. I threw it six yards of wood chips and they charged me $180. I felt scammed.

Always on time with deliveries or at least very communicative with changes. I feel like I m getting my moneys worth. I have a pretty steep and narrow driveway and the drivers are always pretty good about navigating it and staying on the asphalt.

No reason to try anywhere else, The Yard is the place to go. Recently had 10 yds. of mulch delivered and knew I was not going to be home. I asked them to drop it on the tarp I had placed on the driveway. Perfect drop off, and on time! During this time where customer service is lacking in most industries, its nice to see The Yard knows how to run their business.

Do not buy the farm soil. It most likely came from a construction site. It s filled with nails, broken glass, bottle caps, and miscellaneous garbage. In my 5 cubic yard delivery, i fished out at least 100 hazardous objects. I wish this was mentioned on their website, all the description said was unscreened and great for filling in garden beds which is what im doing. Now i have a new anxiety of my dog or kid digging through the garden beds and getting cut by a sharp object. I should also mention that i originally order 10 yards and canceled the second half when i found the nails and glass. When i contacted them to cancel the order, they were quick to canceled, but the sentiment i got from the person was basically well, it is unscreened . Unscreened soil doesn t excuse the source that it s actually coming from. I already expected rocks and other things that naturally occur, not nails and glass though. Given all the garbage i ve found in my pile, how do i know it s even decent quality soil? Would love a soil analysis to confirm i didn t just fill my yard with heavy metal contaminants too

Delivery is always timely and neat. When they have an opening in their schedule, they call ahead and and ask if the delivery can be earlier, sometimes the afternoon or night before. The driver also reads and follows the comments section the best they can do to accommodate the unloading. Fair prices, great business to deal with!

Delivery request was for 8-12pm but received a call asking if earlier delivery was ok. It was perfect! I woke up and delivery was already on the tarp I had set out the night before and I was able to start working on it right away.

We found TheYard online when looking for stone for our project. Easy ordering process online with time frames. We didn t need to be home for the delivery. Given the ability to write a note online we had the stones dropped on a tarp in driveway.

Good quality firewood and delivered fast

I like to lite a lot of fires in my fireplace and I was buying my firewood from Home Depot 7/11 and I could easily go through 6 packs a day. I googled firewood near me and the yard popped up and it had good reviews. I went on their website and found you can order firewood online from them, it was so easy I really didn t expect that and they came a day or two later gave me a time frame and called before they came. It was very easy convenient and I m very happy.

I have used the Yard for getting a mulch dump for the past two years. The mulch quality is excellent and the price including the delivery fee is cheaper than bags. You can get a delivery scheduled basically the next day. I cant believe that I spent years using bagged mulch when such great mulch is so cheaply and conveniently available.

I purchased the black gold top soil. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this top soil. The top soil is full of rocks. As shown in the pictures below, these rocks varied in size, from smaller rocks (the size of a quarter) to larger rocks (size of the palm of my hand). Since I used this top soil as a top dressing to the grass in my yard and to fill bare spots for new grass seeding, this is very problematic, as I now have small rocks scattered throughout my yard. I will now be picking up small rocks for a long time and I have to be extra careful with my 20-month old son to make sure he does not attempt to eat them or get into any other trouble with them. (Note: These are rocks, not the clumps of clay/top soil that form into rocks and are easily crumbled.)

Few points - The topsoil is listed as Black Gold Top Soil described as a quality screened compost topsoil.... If you are looking for Garden Soil this isnt the best option as its ratio of sand is quite high which isnt suitable for great growing conditions....The Topsoil is good for mixing with existing soil and glad my yard is mostly riverbed clay to get a good consistent growing mixture.... Lets see how the season unfolds Order Process - Easy Delivery - Depends on how much because they sent a dumpster size truck that fit the driveway but couldnt fit from height due to electrical wires and had to eat initial estimated cost for 2x delivery In short not all customers can be winners but these notes are out there to help others to prevent the same mistake from happening twice

Delivery was on time (next day, early AM) and in the place specified in the order notes.

Havent needed to use them much, but the times I have, it couldnt have been better. Ive used them for bulk mulch and sod. Most recently, I had a mulch delivery in the works and then later asked if I could add in a small sod order. The gentleman on the phone said it would be better if I just picked up the sod because adding it to the delivery would have upped the charge; honesty in a business like that is refreshing. The mulch was high quality and with the sod I wasnt able to lay it down for 3 to 4 days because of my schedule but its still adapting beautifully. I intend to keep using them.

Placed an order for a truck load of mulch and it was delivered in a few hours. The best part was I didn t have to call anyone, easy ordering online.

Gave me a call with an ETA on when to expect delivery, and the delivery person unloaded it where I asked even though it was tricky for them to back up the truck through a narrow driveway. Ive ordered many times from The Yard for bulk deliveries and I will continue to do so.

I had five yards of topsoil and 800 sq ft of sod delivered..The delivery driver for the sod was friendly, efficient and incredibly hard working.

Ordered 3 yard of black gold soil and more than half of it was wood chips and mulch...you are better off buying soil from home depot or lowes or some other place. Wouldnt recommend!!!

I brought the topsoil (Black Gold)from the Yard. This is my first time ordering from The Yard after reading reviews. I placed the order thru their website for 10 yard. The service was good.The quality of the soil is very poor. I am extremely disappointed the outcome. I used that soil the front yard lawn. Even after 2 weeks with continuous care and watering, the grass is not growing as expected.The soil content is highly saturated with mulch.

Ordered firewood from here. It was delivered the next day, the driver called to let me know he was on his way, and was able to back the truck to dump the wood exactly where I needed it. Def recommend!

We ordered top soil for some landscaping projects around the yard and these guys made it so easy! The website was easy to navigate, it was easy to choose the delivery date we wanted, the staff called us the day of delivery to let us know the delivery would be arriving in 45 minutes (amazing!), and the delivery guy was really nice and dumped the dirt exactly where we asked. The material is very nice. It was delivered quickly, actually the day before I expected it (they checked if it was ok). The only reason I would consider another supplier next time was the delivery fee. I ordered 8 yards and delivery to East Brunswick was $136. That was 50% the total cost of the material. I knew that going in and I agreed to it so no big deal. I m sure the fuel and drive time factors in to the cost. I would just find someone closer to deliver it for less next time.

My husband and I, last minute, decided we wanted to get topsoil, mulch and grass seed for our yard. I was highly impressed that we were able to get a quick delivery date. The Yard called me the day before to confirm receipt of my order and let me know the approximate time of the delivery. The morning of I received a call because the mulch we wanted wasn t in stock. Although this was a bummer we were able to swap out for a different kind with no problem. Regardless the professionalism was on point and we will definitely order from them again.

This company upsells the stock, which they dont have. They took money upfront through the website; we paid it through the website after getting oral confirmation to deliver on the same day. They promised to deliver the same day, i.e., Saturday called again to postpone to Sunday. I called again on Sunday for Monday, Called Monday again for Thursday. Thursday they didnt call, whey I called. They mentioned that the supplier had promised them, but no idea when they get it. Not reliable. I suggest: dont pay upfront, even though they promise.

Great selection of landscaping materials. The Yard is great because it s local, you can order online, they don t charge and arm and a leg for shipping, and they are super efficient. You don t always have to shop at big orange.

Service is great. I ordered 6 cu. yds. of mushroom soil conditioner. I live almost 2 hours away, and it got dropped off the next day. I also added on to the order with no issue. As far as the product, its very loose, sandy soil. Im adding it to beds Im creating in my yard-- one of them is currently grass and many volunteers, the other has leaves down, then a layer of grass clippings. So, lets see how it works out.

First time to get mulch and fertilizer from the yard and the experience was great! They called me to tell me that some bagged soil amendments are not available, also told me that it can be delivered one day earlier. We were not ready so still use the original delivery date. The cedar mulch I got is great. The delivery is on time and professional. I actually only need 2.5 yards but the website only allows me to choose 2 or 3 and I forgot to ask for that in the call. The PayPal payment method seemed not work so made payment with credit card. Will use them again next time and I will consider the yard for other supplies if can be found there. .

I needed about 3 yards of gravel for my project, went to their website, which was incredible easy to navigate with all the stone options and descriptions. Found what I was looking for at a great price, selected my delivery day and times, and placed the order. Received a call on the delivery day informing me they will be on site in 30 min. The truck showed up on time, the driver was incredibly friendly, and dropped the stone right in my driveway where I wanted it, chatted for a few min and then he left. The stone looked great, basically no stone dust, maybe one swipe of the broom to clean the driveway was all that was needed when I was done. Again great company, friendly employees, if you need stone or mulch make sure to check these guys out!
