Frechette Lawncare in Scarborough

The morons at Frachette sprayed the wrong house. Apparently its too difficult for these idiots to distinguish between 23 and 27. Perhaps select sesame street episodes as part of their staff training is in order. Who sprays one lawn out of 26 on a street for mosquitos et al and expects this to be remotely effective. What a useless service. The 1950s called and said they want their attitudes on pest control back!

One of their vehicles intentionally drove the wrong way down a one way street and parked on a sidewalk, blocking it entirely and forcing people with strollers in to the roadway. Truck BT90093. Absolutely shameful dangerous behaviour, with no regard or consideration for the safety of the people in this community. Is this how you run a business?

Less than one star. Services not as good as our competitors, And when you sign up for one year and don t opt to auto renew, they renew you anyway unless you advise them otherwise which is illegal; they show Up and perform services that you didn t ask for and charge you. They say fair policy but this is a Bully tactic. They are used to these complaints but some ppl just go along so it is worth it for them. There is no right for them to unilaterally renew! Likely an industry standard but that doesn t make it right. I Will be filing a complaint with the Ministry. P.s. when yu are not able push me around, call me abusive

Buyer Beware. I signed up for their services and had paid in full for many years. Last year I was away and specifically did not re-sign for the season. That said, they continued to service and bill me without my written or verbal consent. Their reply was this is industry standards with blatant disregard to any customer service or our long-term relationship. They threatened to take the matter to collections? Is this the lawn care company you are looking for? Take your business elsewhere.

Our technician seems knowledgeable and actuslly interested in his work. He told me to be patient - youll notice a difference next year. He lied :) I am impressed with the improvement in my lawn after only 2 visits! Yes it still needs work but its one of the better lawns on the street and no longer feel like an uphill battle. I used the free quote service on their website to inquire about core aeration prices and availability. They replied that they only service clients. They didnt make an attempt to sell me anything or offer any information as to what I would need to do to become a client. Sad part is, I am less then 1km from their yard and they already have other clients on my street. And hey look, only took them 10 months to reply, and where excuses were made no offer was made to correct the poor service or offer the opportunity to become a client.

I held off doing this review until today. I set an appointment with them June 13 at 10am, to have my backyard and front lawn sprayed for weed control. Called the technician around 11:30 am asking where he is , apparently they dont have accessed to my backyard and so they cant do it and so he just did the front yard. I asked him why he never even bothered to call me or ring the doorbell he just said call the office and he spoke tio my neighbor. i called and no one called me back. Yesterday got a message that hes coming back for 2nd round of treatment, called the head office telling them to re book coz i need to see speak with technician and see whats he is doing. Anne the person i spoke with main concern was looks like youre not planning to pay us. I told her your tech spoke to my neighbor while i was at my house the entire time. So today after telling her yesterday repeatedly that I need to speak with the technician before he does anything, same thing. Went out and saw a bill. He did some work in my front yard. This after a 3 minute argument with Anne and several text and voice message to the technician that I need to see whats being done. Unprofessional.

We hired this company last year to help us with a small patch of lawn in the front our our house. Our lawn saw zero improvement despite following the instructions they left on an invoice and in fact the lawn looked like they did nothing at all. For example, after over seeding we couldnt find a single seed on the lawn and the seeding started late despite requests that they come earlier. We were told they are too busy and theyll get to us when they get to us. We paid our invoices and decided that we wouldnt use them again. We did not sign up for an annual subscription. The following year, they sent a letter indicating that they will return unless we tell them not to. My husband and I are two busy professionals with young children and we never got around to calling them. They ended up showing up and leaving invoices and, again, zero improvement in the lawn. I find this kind of practice extremely sneaky and unethical. Unless, I subscribe to an annual repeat service, no one is invited onto my property. You cant send a notice inviting yourself and putting the onus on me to disinvite you. This is a very sneaky way of getting repeat business. I definitely do not recommend this company. First and foremost, their services are ineffective; second, they have a sharp and sneaky way of getting repeat business; and third, when you raise any issues, they are rude and offensive.

We have been customer with Frechette for over 15 years. They have been reliable and professional. I have recommended my neighbour and a few friends to them.

Our lawn was 75% weed and 25% grass. We thought we would need to resod but they managed to save our front lawn and backyard. We are engaging their services again for 2022!

Very punctual, effective and professional service. In year 2020 I discontinued their service as one of my known person started the same service. Their weed service is amazing..I have tried many products, Frechette s Fiesta weed control is the best. I also use their fertilizers and overseeing service, the lawn stays healthy. Only feedback is that they should inform a day before coming so I could mow the lawn or take any pre care, even though they say it s not necessary

Please place extra signs on large property lawns warning of pesticide spraying so that dog owners can clearly see the signs and keep their dogs off the lawns. One or two signs are not sufficient on larger property lawns. Thank you.

I booked weed control services on May 11 and was told they would be completing their first application within two weeks. After three weeks and a few calls to them, they acknowledged that they would not be able to come for another two weeks. That s unacceptable. They made excuses for lots of rain (which wasn t the case) and that they only have 17 trucks. Suffice it to say, I cancelled their service because of broken promises and poor customer service.

I can say my lawn has progressively gotten better over the years since having Frechette maintaining it. Friendly staff and super easy to deal with.

We are so happy with the service we received with Frechette. Our lawn was in rough shape last summer and they came to do an assessment. The man who came was very knowledgably and recommended a few things to do before the winter. They came twice in the fall and then after winter they came in the spring and early summer. Our lawn is absolutely fantastic! We have neighbors who walk by and comment on how great it looks, we couldnt be happier!

When I signed up early April taking almost all their services they offer, I was told 1st application would be late April. By May 13th they were still not on site and I had to call numerous times. In fact their line continues to go directly to voice mesage 90% of the time, no matter what time of day you call them. Got our 1st application re fertilizer just before mid May. The hardscape weed spray control 1st of 4, was to start, as per their commitment to me when I signed up, early to mid May. We are now June 10th and still no hardscape weed control. Meanwhile someone who lives 2 min drive away in our area had their hardscape weed spray 1 month ago. Since I have not been able to get in touch with their office, as I had to leave 2x messages early and mid last week, I called one of the owners Jordan whom I had talked to mid May to advise him about my concern of no / late service. That call with Jordan around mid May went well. I was not upset nor rude to him, nor was he, as I just wanted him to know about my concerns and issuesnwith their level of service. So there would be no reason for Jordans rudeness today. He refused to take my call. All I wanted to tell him was I could not reach his office and left messages, and my concern about the VERY LATE 1st application for our hardscape weed.spray control. Our hardscape weeds have grown crazy and many 9, 12 and higher ... it is crazy. I was personally guaranteed by his office, upon signing up with their service, that we would not be left behind, as I was concerned since we did not registered with them until early April, as registration for such services usually happen months before. I did not want to be left behind and not on their normall route of service. Something to note ... Late May we got our overseeding application from them. Overseeding .... what a joke. There was barely any seeds on the grss / soil and their texh guy missed large sections of the lawn ... as it was evident as per our video alarm monitoring playback. I had to check because they left a service receiot stating all waa good and lot was seeded, but we saw very little or no seeds. So to call their service overseeding ... what a joke. They could have saved themselves the trip. We had to buy several bags of grass seed and truly overseeded our grass. I just could not be bothered to call and complain as I felt as per previous calls, the frontnoffice have a snarly attitude when I address my concern with tbeir service and product once before that application. Interesting as well, when their tech guy came mid May for their 1st application for 2021, which was the fertilizer, he too was confused why he just not apply the overseeding and hardscape weed control as he had it on his truck and he was on site. That since, yes, our 1st application occurred late, it did not make sense not to do the seeding and hardscape too while he was on site. He said they are from Scarborough and since we are out in Etobicoke ... the drive alone does not make sense to come back later when such applciations can happen altogether and he had the time. Obviously this company has huge logistic issues and cannot handle the client load, especially us who are further out west or even east from them, and are the rudest people I have ever met. They were happy to get my money, promise great service, on time and attentive service ... and unfortunately nothing close to this has been experienced by us. Obviously this long message should relay the level of dissatisfaction we have with this company. I left a text mesage with Jordan, one of the owners, since he rudely hung up on me, gave him a short summary of lack of service and call back and my late hardscape application. I advised him to call me back. Also reminded him ... the buck stops with him ... and all valid customer complaints and issues lie on his shoulders since he is an owner. Lets see if he is an ethical business owner and does the right thing t resolve the issue or will he be just another company who just want our money and who cares about the rest.

I have used Frenchette Lawn care service for 15 years and I did not get the summer fertilizer that I paid for. I have called Frenchette for three days and no one returns my calls. I will have to look for a new lawn care service

Very professional service

I contacted Frechette in June 2021 after having new sod laid in May. I paid for 5 services and only received 4. It took repeated calls and the threat of canceling services before they finally showed up in mid August. As a result of my frustrations I was offered several free services for 2022 and received an invoice. Frechette refused to honour this invoice when I called to make the payment. After a lot of communications and multiple incorrect invoices I spoke with one of the owners and finally got an acceptable invoice and provided her with my credit card details for payment. A couple of weeks later I was surprised to receive a completely different invoice from Frechette. I called to make sure this was just issued in error and was told that my earlier invoice had not been paid. I dont know what they did with my credit card info, but the owner and staff refused to acknowledge any error on their part or offer an apology. I was then told that they were no longer interested in having me as a client. Imagine my surprise when a couple of weeks later I received another invoice from them with a note telling me what a valued customer I am and thanking me for being a loyal and consistent customer. This is consistent with the total incompetence and unprofessionalism I experienced during my brief relationship with Frechette. If you want to save yourself from a lot of frustration, I strongly recommend you stay away from this company.

Very good value for the money. For the price we pay, it isnt worth it for me to do it myself. Much cheaper than what several neighbours pay with different companies.

Called to get a quote and the agent was so rude. She can t even take proper email address instead blames it on me. I never even left the email address on the vmail. In this pandemic people should be kind and here she s so rude. When She called me she talked rude and didn t even give me the opportunity to talk she just hang up on me. Never using this company. They don t even get a rate. Please get your agents be more professional.

Been using this company for my last two houses. Both houses started with lawns infested with weeds. There were more wild violets than grass along with dandelions. Frechette successfully eradicated these invasive weeds within a couple of years. They have a great program with lawn fertilizer and weed control. Everything is prepaid and automatically renewed each year. I dont have to worry about a thing.

Last summer our lawn died. Frechette came in and did a weed control and aerated, but decided not to seed as it was so late in the season. I appreciated that they didnt just go ahead and seed as we requested, but were concerned about what was best in the long run.

Contacted Frechette a few years ago because of some persistent clover. They were able to take care of the problem. Great customer service and no annoying phone calls like I receive from some other lawn care companies. My lawn has never looked better and they are quick to respond if I have any issues.

Came home yesterday evening to a sign on my lawn claiming that Frechette had applied pesticide. I have never had any contract with this company nor had even accepted a quote. I have a very well kept lawn that I painstakingly maintain myself and have just applied overseed and fresh sod that any pesticide spray would definitely adversely effect. Many of my dollars potentially wasted by an unsolicited service. A quick google search revealed that Frechette has a history of billing unsuspecting customers for work not agreed to, as well as billing for work clients cant confirm or suspect wasnt actually performed. When I called to inquire they first tried to sell me additional services, then when I expressed frustration they switched tactics and threatened me should I not pay for work already performed. Should they reply to this review saying please contact us to address the problem Im certain theyd turn that into a sales/threatening call as well. Im unsure if Frechette actually applied pesticide to my lawn without my consent/knowledge or if their sign placement is some strange marketing gimmick, a scam, or both. Can someone with a nest cam or other video surveillance device reply or place their own review confirming whether or not pesticide was actually applied to their property, or if the sign was just placed in order to encourage a call or invoice for work not performed. Bottom line: avoid all contact with this company and do not sign or verbally agree to any service.

I am quite happy with your product However I notice every year I do end up with an awful lot of weeds NO MATTER having your services applied Is there no way to eliminate them COMPLETELY ? Without incurring additional costs ?? You folks have applied Spring, Early summer & Fall Fertilizers plus Early summer weed control and YET I see weeds all over It seems like a VICIOUS CYCLE Only last year I noticed a more weed-free status but again not 100% something is not right I need HELP Please do not recommend more toxics I cannot afford spending more Thanks

Started using Frechette midway through the summer of 2019. I avoided a lawn care service for several years, preferring do the work myself. Unfortunately, weed control go the best of me (mostly clover), and only the pros have access to the good stuff. With their fertilizer blend and weed control my lawn hasnt looked as good since I originally put down the sod.

My home borders on the Humber River valley -a huge expanse of weeds that used to slowly march into my property each year, until I got fed up with the battle. Frechette has kept my property in top shape since we started with them over 20 years ago. My friend and neighbour asked me for Frechettes contact info, they admired the results I have had. Except for cutting the grass, I have no other worries as far as my lawn and garden go.

Frechette has provided service for our property for over four years, and have always been pleasant to communicate with, dependable in their provision of services, and very professional. Our grass is certainly much healthier than most neighbours who use other services, though moss is an issue (likely secondary to overshading from tall trees, etc.). Frechette is particularly cognizant of avoiding services if they deem that another day would be more effective (e.g. if the grass is covered/inaccessible, they will come back on another day).

They keep promising to do the job but never show up. I am beyond frustrated with them and have asked for my money back.

I have been using Frechette for approximately 18 months now. My whole property was re-landscaped 4 years ago by another company. Since using Frechette the majority of my grass is dead due to the chinch bugs. The technicians know very little, in my opinion. I spoke to them directly and told them that the grass was not in drought due to the high temperatures. Its dead due to the invasion of chinch bugs. They simply looked confused and uninterested. When addressing the issue with their office they offered an overseeding at $60.00 and a Free application to address the chinch bugs. Ill never use them again.

what did i just pay for? i still see MANY weeds.

The service was good at the start. This year, the weeds were taller than me in the area I specifically told the office to concentrate on. I called them about it and was told I should have called sooner. The weeds werent taller than me sooner but later as the weed control was either ineffective or not applied. I told them not to renew the contract as I am looking for another company to do the job.

Totally useless for weed control of my lawn. Started year worse than last. Spoke to them with no recourse. Totally my fault. not their product or service. Showed up automatically for billing! Great Business plan!

My lawn looked great last year before I moved in. We hired Frechette to keep it that way. The lawn looks terrible now. We have dogs. Dogs ruin lawns. They still sold us a lot of fertilizer products. I called to ask them what I could do. Almost a month later, they called me to tell me that they were coming by to add more fertilizer. I said, why dont you come by and see what you can do to help my problem. They said - its ok sir, if you arent happy well just cancel you. If you want fertilizer - theyll sell it. If you want someone to make your lawn look good - call someone else.

Service experience has declined in recent years. Failed to spray and fertilize entire lawn. Weed care ineffective Did not keep appointments to discuss issues with homeowner. Went ahead and did work without confirming in advance, as agreed to between homeowner and company. Terminated service.
