Oliver's team did a great job on my backyard stairs. 100% recommend
Oliver and his team did a fantastic job with our backyard and side yard! We started with what was essentially a big, overgrown gravel rectangle, and they turned our vision into a reality with beautiful new redwood planters, a turf area for our kids to play, fieldstone borders, drought-resistant and native plantings, and a really lovely walkway of bluestone. It looks SO much better and more polished, and the space is now somewhere we genuinely want to spend time as a family. But the best part of the process was working with Oliver and his team. Oliver is one of the most humble, dedicated people we've met and was flexible with every change we made throughout the 2-3 weeks of work. He is an expert communicator and made us feel like friends after just a short time of working with us. Can't recommend Coastscapes more highly for your landscaping project! (Will add photos soon!)
Oliver responded immediately to request for quote. He “listened” and covered all the items I requested in the quote. There were no surprises. Professional and hard working crew. The work involved removal of a concrete raised planter bed, wooden raised planter beds and irrigation system. Once that was done stone pavers and decorative pebbles installed to fill in the space. I gained so much space on patio. Very happy customer! Highly recommend!
Oliver scheduled time to assess a mudslide on our steep property two days after it occurred. He provided a detailed and fair quote that same week. He and his team were a pleasure to work with, punctual, detail oriented, and personable. The retention plan was to hydroseed the hillside after jute netting and retention rolls were staked into place. Unfortunately, the hydroseeder rented by Oliver failed to work. After two days of trying to get the machinery to work, the equipment was towed away. The $4,000 contract for this job included daily rental of the hydroseeder as well as gas to bring it to our property. Oliver assured me that his crew could hand seed the hillside and achieve good results. Oliver assured me that he would return the next spring at no additional cost if seeding results were not satisfactory. On January 21, 22, after moderate rainfall, the bare patches experienced slides tearing the jute netting and stakes away from the hillside. I think the big lesson is that hand seeding is not comparable to hydro seeding. Unfortunately the nearest hydro seeder equipment is 50 miles from Santa Cruz and there is no guarantee the machine is in good working order. We had heavy rains 2024, but overall the slide area stabilized and the seeding is doing well!!
Oliver and his team came to our wasteland and made it beautiful. We wanted him to do some hard scape, but he recommended we get a concrete team in to make a driveway, two patios and two walkways. It was the right call and then Oliver came in and built garden boxes and planted natives and drought tolerant plants front and back. They even made a planter in our alley.
Very thankful for the hard work Oliver and Matt put into our yard! I look forward to our next project so we can utilize their services again! Highly recommend! Oliver has worked for us both at our house and at our rental property. We always appreciate his excellent work at a reasonable price. We have had some situations where we needed fast turn around and Oliver worked with us to get the job done as quickly as possible. We highly recommend Oliver and we will continue to work with him.
Oliver cleared a ton of brush and poison ivy from behind our back fence, and it looks fantastic now. He also rebuilt the retaining wall that is holding our backyard up. The quality of Oliver's work is exemplary, and I have confidence that the retaining wall will last for years. There was a miscommunication about the location of the back fence, and Oliver volunteered to address the problem at his own expense. We're thrilled with Oliver's work, and with the professional attitude he brings!
Oliver was great, super helpful, and really responsive. I dont know how he gets any sleep servicing his many clients, but we had a great experience and are looking for our next project!

I was in search of some help to cut down and collect some cherry wood for my BBQ. I reached out to Ollie at Coastscapes, and he responded very quickly and we set up a date and time to do it. As soon as he arrived to the site, he pulled out the chainsaw and got to work! Definitely a pro with the tool!! The truck was full with cherry rounds in no time. The best part was that he delivered to my house and unloaded for me! I will be calling Coastscapes soon to work on my backyard. I cannot wait!! Oliver is very professional and is customer focused. He went above and beyond to make sure the work was acceptable and met my requirements. I had a patio area that was as a mess and very overgrown. I wanted it taken back to just dirt, then pavers installed, tan bark placed, drip system and a potty area built for my small dog. Oliver was great. He was patient even with some unique requirements and he took it all in stride. He was responsive and kept communication open. The team arrived on time and were highly respectful of my property. Unfortunately I had supply issues with the pavers I sourced and ordered which impacted his schedule. Even though this was a tad inconvenient for him, he worked with me to make sure he got the job completed. He did this even though he had to come back a couple times to accommodate the shipping delay. When the job was completed he reinstalled/rebuilt my fence panel to a better state than it was prior to the job. I can t recommend them enough. I m already planning my next project with Coastscapes. A solid business and even better, they re local.

Oliver and crew worked on my property for 2 days doing a huge amount of cleaning, clearing and hauling. They removed 15 years of ivy growing on my water holding tank. They did a great job and worked very hard. I would definitely recommend them.
