In September of 2015, we hired Jorge Cortez, SBEvolutionLandscape(.com) to install a French Drain on a duplex in Goleta, CA Their work was completed, very professionally, on-time and under-budget. I HIGHLY recommend this company.

I like that the fellows are the same crew and come in threes which helps handle the work load for our landscape. They have been always prompt and step right into getting the work done.

They are awesome. They run a very thorough run-trough of the property and they advice what is best for the specific landscape. They planted two trees for me and took care of a few plants. They are quick, on time and very efficient with their time! Highly Recommended!

They replaced the fence in our property. They were professional, showed up early, and Samuel did a terrific job. If you want a company that thinks a mud swamp in your back yard during a drought is acceptable then SB Evolution is for you. I paid them to fix a leak and their crew proceeded to ignore the fact that the fix had failed for multiple weeks. Despite the fact that their crew is in that corner of my yard much more frequently then me I had to find the problem (and others that they completely ignored) fix it temporarily which tool all of 2mintes and raise the alarm. Their response? Just blame it on my plumbing and not bother to apologize or take responsibility in any shape form or matter. The guys just dont seam to care. A few facts. No one other then SB Evolution touched the system for several years before this fiasco. If it was not their fault why did only the valves at the end of the line fail and none other further upstream? They have a habit of changing service days with zero warning. What ever pleases them. They are happy to allow plants to encroach on your walk ways. I should have gotten rid of them a long time ago.

I dont post a lot of reviews. But SB Evolution did a great job repairing our yard irrigation system. What really stood out was their organization and communication. Responsive from the very start, SB Evolution professionally managed each each step of the process: inspection, quoting, repair and billing. After discovering a very high water bill, I made several other calls before finding SB Evolution. The other landscape companies were only interested if they could sell us a new system. SB Evolution showed up caring about what we really needed, which was to fix what we had as cost effectively as possible. I will certainly call them when repairs are eventually needed again, and also when it is time for a new system.

Overpriced and the quality is not great. Everything is a la carte with this business. Had a lot of the plants and trees on my property breakdown on their watch. Their solution was to charge extra prices to fix the situation when they were already paid to maintain them. Not to mention, they are not very organized, as I would have to request something multiple times before it got done, usually. Overall, for the inflated prices they charge, it is just not worth it.

Im So glad the PM where I live hired SB Evolution. The people are friendly, and cooperative. The best word I could use to sum it up is conscientious. Its not my place to instruct them on what I want done, but they accommodate my requests where possible, and keep our place looking great.

I have been using SB Evolution for more than year and am very satisfied with their professionalism. A crew of 3 arrives weekly and takes care of my lawns and weeds & cleans around the outside of the house so I can use the time to address larger issues.

SB Evolution has been doing my monthly yard maintenance for about 18 months; I have also used them for several landscaping jobs during that time. On the whole, Ive been very pleased by my experience with SB Evolution. Theyre good communicators, always making sure I know about changes of schedule or crew composition. Their bids are thorough and they take time to meet in person to understand my needs before bidding on any work. They do thorough, thoughtful maintenance; theyve never treated a plant wrong that I am aware of and the yard generally looks neat and well trimmed. Their maintenance crews are courteous, friendly, and although I mostly leave them to their own judgement, theyre responsive to my suggestions and requests when I have them. The quality of their landscaping work is impressive to me: irrigation is all done in a handsome and professional manner; soil removal happens quickly and with minimal noise; the quality of their planting is especially good, with individual gopher cages to protect any plant that is at risk. I was very appreciative that Jorge, the owner, was willing to work with me on a large hardscaping project in my front yard, allowing me to do as much of the work myself as I wanted in order to keep costs down, and to hire his crew for some of the labor-intensive or tricky bits. He gave me good advice about how to do the hardscaping on my own, essentially laying out exactly what his crew would have done. He also managed the Marborg dumpster scheduling, even for my parts of the job, leaving me free to focus on the work itself. On one occasion a crew damaged some drip irrigation lines during maintenance work, but SB Evolution fixed it at no charge to me when I reported it to them. In fact, Im hiring them to replace the irrigation lines in question, because all of the irrigation work they install is well concealed, stays put and generally remains free of leaks! While SB Evolution isnt the cheapest landscaping service in town, they provide great service and considering the level of quality, customer service and professionalism they bring to the table, theyre a far better value than the cheaper outfits.

Friendly crew Reliable Great work ethic We needed new gardeners at our place of business. We hired these guys and from the very beginning they were on top of everything. They started doing it in sections. Slowly but surely they did an amazing job. The guy in charge working in our buildings (Arturo) definitely knows how to communicate. Anything we ask from him or his crew they go above and beyond. Not just writing this because I get along with the guy, but because they have definitely changed the property I work at. Every Tuesday from 7:30 to 12 always on time.

Started using SB Evolution the first of the year, and have been pleased with their work, completing work in the yard I wanted to be completed. Last week I called and asked for a crew to come to the site and clean up and trim some trees, getting ready for the annual Spring Cleanup in Mission Canyon. I was given a separate contract and bid for this extra work. The crew came on time and worked very hard to clean up the property and get the trimmings ready for the June 2 chipping. When the work was completed, I walked the property with the crew leader and there were some small areas that I had wanted completed and the crew finished up the work to my satisfaction. I also had four Japanese Maple trees in pots that I needed to be placed in the ground. They placed gopher screens in the hole and planted the trees, which are now doing very well. I am glad I chose this company to kept the maintenance on my property. My property is now also ready for the fire season. Thank you SB Evolution

I am so pleased with SB Evolution s services that I am happy to write this review. After 10 years of benign neglect our irrigation was in serious need of repair and upgrading. SB Evolution did a complete inspection (while repairing a few things on the way) and then presented a plan to fix our various problems. We went ahead with their recommendations and are pleased to make the highest recommendation they are diligent, professional, pleasant and knowledgable. From now on we will have them back every 6 months to re-inspect and make any repairs that are needed. I am very pleased with their service, from routine maintenance to clearing an entire hillside and planting a series of hydrangeas in a shady spot for me, as they are my favorite flower. SB Evolution Landscape went above and beyond with irrigation repairs at my organization. We have a large site with an outdated system but Jorges crew had no problem detecting and fixing every leak. The cost was very reasonable and they even returned free of charge when an additional leak was detected after the fact. These guys are the real deal!

Good: Friendly, courteous people Bad: Undertrained. Our experience: Schedule: Agreed on a likely week (but not day), then with no further contact the crew showed up on a Wednesday. No confirmation, no checking specific days. Performance: Installers apparently didn t know about drip-lines for trees, so all tree-circle tubing is close to the trunks. As well, nozzles are angled down and in, minimizing coverage area. To repair, I ll have to splice and re-lay every tree. The number of nozzles doesn t correspond to tree size (4 for a 4 tree, 3 for a 20 tree). Support for the monitors is not well-staked; I ll have to re-stake. I asked for hose access, which is a nozzle tee available anywhere, but the system was directly attached to the faucet without hose access. The tubing popped off the controller, which fortunately I heard shortly after it happened so I could turn off the water. SBEL came up the next day and repaired it. (The original installers hadn t used any pipe tape). Then we left on vacation and the tubing came off again, leaving the faucet running full-blast for nearly a day. (No metal clamps?) Fortunately a neighbor came and turned off the water. Summary: The errors were those of inadequate training. Not the fault of the workers, but not acceptable in getting the job done, at least if getting the job done means not having to redo almost all of it yourself. I want to repeat that the people were nice (thus the 2nd star). Follow up: After posting this the SBEL people were active in trying to reach me and offering to repair the problem. I wanted to see it first, and was thousands of miles away. Back home now, the tubing came off in the exact place it had been repaired. And, the other connections are lacking even the plumbing tape that was meant to fix the detachment. Ill fix it myself, I think. But -- they are good people. Training, training, training, Second follow up: Gracious reply by SBEL owner, and Im glad to hear about the training completions. In repairing the installation I found (a) no regulator was used (a pressure reduction device, maybe $15-$17, standard part of most installations, esp with the high water pressure we have); and, (b) the improvised setup to cover the full area could be replaced, in about an hour, with an inexpensive PVC line for a much more stable and resilient solution. My original post stands: good people, in my case VERY inadequately trained; and the owner both responded generously and reports the training problem rectified.

They provide great service. They are always checking in to see if there is something they can do differently or better. We appreciate their attention and follow up.

I contacted a number of companies for a major clean up in our new Santa Barbara home before deciding to go with Jorge and the crew at SB Evolution Landscape--am I am very, very happy that I did! We have 1/3 of an acre with oaks, cactus, succulents, tropical plants, ivy, dead trees, numerous invasive plants, and more, that was suffering from years of neglect. We were ready to move forward with new landscaping but needed to tear out and clean out before getting started (we are doing the bulk of the work ourselves). At our initial meeting, Jorge was punctual, polite and responsive. He listened to our plans for the garden and offered clear solutions on how to attain them. Once we finished our long and thorough walk through, he went through the yard a second time to take notes. His provided a very detailed and fair quote the following day. His crew arrived today and they did a tremendous job in the sweltering heat of one of the hottest days of the year. Not only did they tackle the though jobs (removing numerous prickly pears and very old, stubborn tree stumps), they even took the time to pick up stray weeds and bits of roots/sticks as they worked. They had fantastic attention to detail. At the end of a very long work session, the foreman asked me to walk through the property to ensure they had done everything we asked. When I pointed out a couple of oversights (there was a lot to keep track of!), they quickly took care of it. He even had me walk through a second time to make sure we were happy. Finally, when they must have been exhausted, they took another 45 minutes to clean up. A superb effort by the entire crew! Bravo and thank you to Jorge and his crew. Being new the the West Coast, I wanted to find a landscaping company with a great understanding of how to choose the best landscape design and plants for the climate. A neighbor recommended SB Evolution Landscape, so I hired them right away. When we spoke on the phone, they were friendly and professional. The crew that came were great; very friendly, and they double checked on anything that wasnt totally clear. They were efficient and their skill was evident. Because of SB Evolution Landscape, now I actually enjoy looking out my window every day. Before they got here the place was a horrific jungle of persistent weeds and other crud. The work commenced almost immediately, and was completed quickly, efficiently, and professionally. No mess was left behind - in fact, they even offered, for a very reasonable fee, to cart away some of the industrial garbage. Weve contracted with several landscaping companies over the years. In each case, they start out strong and then fade out as the attention to detail fades and the responsiveness drops. Jorge and his crew have been different. After more than a year, Jorges crew still consistently attends to the details that are important to us. Moreover, Jorge is responsive when there are issues, such as irrigation problems, that need immediate attention. In short, they are professional and we have been very happy with them.
