The landscaping materials used look decent which is why this review is even receiving any stars. (I say decent because the mulch was ehhhh- and we have already started working with another landscaper to replace it.) The reason for the neg review is the fact that the service and communication were appalling. The job took double the amount of time as quoted. They knocked down a tree they were not supposed to and also removed a yucca that we agreed to keep. Through out the process there were supposed to be several walkthrough checkpoints that did not occur. The owner is difficult to get ahold. On three separate occasions the owner did not show up for meetings - canceling at the last minute. This is so disrespectful, when a customer rearranges their schedule to accommodate. I had to request our final statement three times. I needed this to reconcile the final balance owed, because there was a change order. Once I finally received it (after asking for it for three weeks) I paid the balance immediately. The change order was for clearing some old edging, which I had discussed with the owner prior to the owner doing the quote. Overall, terrible communication by the crew, the office and the owner. Buyer beware: The owner will say what you want to hear to earn the business, but has poor follow through. Now that CLC has been paid in full (PLUS SOME); I would expect they would come and address my concerns/ the items shared in the final walkthrough. UPDATE- ONE MONTH OUT - THEY HAVE NOT FINISHED THE FINAL ITEMS AND ARE NOT REPLYING TO MY OR MY HUSBANDS TEXTS! SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! NOTE: The fact that on a 60K job, this company is holding out on making their work meet minimum expectations because of $3K .is ridiculous . Particularly pathetic when $2K of that is as a result of an un-signed change order.

Literally impossible to get ahold of

The crew that comes weekly to mow my lawn have been very courteous and professional!!! I am extremely pleased with the job they do and Im kind of picky when it comes to my lawn!!! They pay attention to detail and do a great clean-up job on my porches, sidewalks and driveway!!!

Twice this year they changed prices without communicating with me. The first time I let it slide because I was only paying an extra $15ish per month and figured their miscommunication was an error that can happen from time to time. but this second time it went up an extra $80/month damn near doubling what I pay. Look I understand needs of the business but I don t know how I can trust a company that isn t transparent about billing and has such poor communication with its customers. I hope this business learns how to communicate more effectively.

Nobody from the company ever lets me know when theyre coming out to mow. I have reached 5+ times and I have always been told that my concerns have been addressed/fixed. CLC switched my account to monthly billing and weekly mowing without letting me know and refused to change it back. Since theres nothing to mow on a weekly basis, they have started scalping my lawn and damaging it. I just got off the phone with them and they didnt offer any sort of solution or apology. I have also had them quote me for landscaping on more than one occaision and its always 2-3x more expensive than the competition. Its obvious this company only cares about the money.

Chad created a xeriscape design very quickly for me and I liked the simple-looking, low maintenance approach. He made adjustments in the design as I requested for my budget and preferences. He kept in touch regarding the contract and work schedule. They showed up to start the work per schedule and completed the job in the time I was told. Brett communicated well with me while the work was being done. He addressed minor issues as they came up about the slope and boundary, making corrections that worked out well. The men were polite and tidy, leaving the yard cleaned up after each day. The finished landscape looks just like the design and Im excited to see the plants grow and bloom! My only disappointment is that Chad never could make it out to do a walk through. Im very pleased with the end result though.

Took there time and worked hard

I had some bumps in the road, got incorrect instructions for using some of the hardware, but in the end, Chad made it right. I ve had some really large projects done in the past, and this experience was more frustrating than it had to be. The work does look good and the design process went smoothly. I appreciate how the installers kept the area clean and were very nice when we interacted.

CLC did an excellent job on our landscaping. They did it per plan and on budget. Even dealing with bad weather. Left the site clean as well.

CLC landscaping mows the rental house I am a tenant at. We lock our gate for safety, and so I meet the crew whenever they are here to unlock the gate. There tends to be a new crew each time, yet every single one is very respectful and seems happy in what they are doing. They always do a good job and are careful around our cars as well.

CLC Landscaping was great - did what they were contracted to do in a timely manner, courteous hard working employees, good equipment and kept me informed of job progress - the Rachio irrigation controller is the best!

We had them come out for a quote 2 weeks ago, still have not received in writing. I have received a phone call saying that our project would cost 4x the amount that was discussed in person, but still waiting on the cost breakdown. Unless you have a massive budget (80k was our verbal quote after originally being told 20k) don t waste your time.

I used CLC for lawn service. Service has been inconsistent for the past 6 months or so. More and more frequently I am being billed for a mow that didn t happen, or getting billed for full price when only the front yard got mowed and not the back yard. I also paid for a lawn fertilization service for about a year, asked to halt the service and I have still been getting invoices for the service 6 months after cancelling. I do appreciate the service from the office staff as they always try to make things right, and the crew always did a good job even if scheduling was not consistent. I lowered my review from 3 stars to 2 stars after the owner placed blame on me for billing practices, despite having email chains with the office. Feedback is a gift, it s how we learn to do better. When business owners make it personal, we lose sight of what s important.

Replaced irrigation valve cover when I reported it broken by lawn mower. BUT, worker should have reported it himself and got it fixed.

The guys at CLC did an amazing job! My wife and I sort of had an idea of what we wanted but weren t quite sure. However, after speaking and working with Brian on our thoughts and ideas, he designed the perfect backyard and front yard for our family! We couldn t have asked for a better layout! Once the project began, Joe and his crew were on time and work efficiently. They did beautiful work! They know what they are doing for sure! They definitely have the knowledge and experience we needed for our project! And if something wasn t right, Joe and his crew made it right! We can definitely tell the communication between the office staff, the crew, and us are on point. And we couldn t have asked for a better experience! CLC prepared my yard professionally in order to establish 14pallets of Zoysia grass successfully. My back yard is starting to look like a resort. I believe it will become within a short time a golf course looking back yard. This has always been my dream. I am very pleased with the entire process. CLC is a great company.

I cant say enough great things about the CLC team that did my landscaping! I had a garden designed and renovated with a soaker hose, smart control for the sprinkler system, and landscaping. My significant other hired this company in August to begin lawn care at our new home. They didn t come the day they said they would. Next time they came, they left our closed gate wide open when they left. Usually you would leave things the way you found them. Anyways, I let my dog outside and he runs out of the gate and into the road. Thankfully I was able to get him before he got hit by a car. Although I should ve double checked to make sure the gate was closed, it should ve been done when they left. Then this week, they were supposed to come Tuesday. They did not show up. We called and no answer. Called Wednesday morning and they said they would come on that day. So Tuesday and Wednesday I had my dog inside almost all day waiting for them to come and they didn t show up. We called on wednesday several times to see where they were and no response. And now they decide to show up this morning on Thursday because I guess they can only show up when it s convenient for them not taking into account other people have lives. Safe to say, they did not do the yard because i m not leaving my dog inside for the third day in a row because they decided to take their sweet time and not show up on their scheduled days that we have had scheduled since August. Do not recommend this company if you want consistency.

Amazing services and easy to communicate with. Chad came to our home to provide us a bid to sod our back yard. Chad was friendly and professional, gave a us an straightforward an reasonable bid. Chad answered all our questions and modified our quote to meet our budget and needs, went above and beyond. We are extremely satisfied with the first sod installation, so we had CLC installed a second installation. Brett was on the on-site Forma, he and his crew did a superb job on both projects. Although the first project had to postpone a few times because of excessive rain and schedule backups, CLC worked hard to get back on schedule and keep us informed. Natalie and the office staff did an awesome job finding the Red Tips plant we requested, and again went above and beyond to find the plants we wanted. The quality of the installs were first-rate and I valued Chad took the time to come out and do the final walkthrough and punch list himself--shows professionalism pride in his company and their work. Chad and his Team were great and a joy to work with. I would highly recommend them for your landscaping needs.

Met to get a quote on a new construction project and was told it would take 7 days. 3 1/2 weeks later, I still don t have a quote. Called and left a message last week, and they never called back. Terrible communication from a business that should be trying to win me over as a client.

CLC Landscaping, LLC, placed a cement sidewalk and garbage can pad for our regular trash, recycling, and yard clippings cans. We were having trouble in a narrow space between our wall and our wood fence, as the area does not maintain grass growth, and it was staying muddy. Additionally, we have had to deal with a slope that could be slick and dangerous for us when we were pulling the cans up to the curb for pick-up. The company was quick to respond, adjustable to our budget and needs, and gave us a nice solution to our problem! My husband and I are very happy with the results. :)

Thanks for asking me to give a review. Unfortunately the flagstone chips off constantly after only a few months. Our grass never took in many spots and remains spotty. It is also lumpy and I was told it would be rolled out after a few months. A fan was never installed in the pergola and we arent getting called or texted back. We paid close to 100k and hoped for what we expected. We had an irrigation leak near a valve and it took clc months to fix and 3 visits. Our water bill was very high during this time. Sorry to complain but this is our experience.

I left a review previously about this company. They improperly installed material for a full landscaping job to dry scape my yard and did not return to correct the problems, and also overcharged my account claiming additional material was added (which it was not) without ever communicating with me about an additional charge. I inquired with Chad, the owner of the company, to come look at the job and he never did. I had to hire another landscaping company to correct all the issues.

Chose for bi-weekly lawn mow, last mow was on Oct 6. In consistent with schedule so I am now forced to mow to avoid hoa fines.

DO NOT MAKE AN ACCOUNT! I was forced to make an account to get a quote. I got a quote, entered my credit card that was required to attempt to schedule, tried to schedule a service, and did not book a service because they did not have a time that worked for me. They proceeded to trespass on my property AFTER I MOWED MY OWN LAWN, mow my lawn, and invoice me $90 for it without me ever booking a service! Chad said that I would be scheduled then confirmed prior to receiving a service. I never received any scheduling information whatsoever. I never confirmed or canceled because nothing was booked. Then when confronted about the trespassing, Chad said they dont schedule a time, and that you had to cancel 24 hours in advance. Even though they dont schedule times? Unprofessional, twice the price of the competition, and abysmal communication. I wish I could give 0 stars.

Installed river rock, plants, and removed weeds and grass in the garden area.

Im about 85% satisfied with the work we had done, which included: * irrigation system (front, back , sides) * tiered rock wall around rear of pool with river rock and plants. Second bed in the front of the house. * accent lighting * re-sod entire yard * replace fence Upon completion of work last February, we didnt know what we didnt know. Everything looked amazing after two years of construction work with the pool (another review for another contractor). But after a neighbor complained their yard was being flooded by what they thought was a pool leak, the City came out to inspect and had a list of complaints against the work performed by CLC, which we shared repeatedly by phone and email with no effort to resolve by CLC, including: * no permit obtained to install irrigation * installation of back-flow not to code * no map of irrigation controls/sprinkler heads submitted * no effort made to account for existing drainage scheme when leveling the yard for sod. While we were ultimately not responsible for the water issues the neighbor was reporting, these open non-compliances with the City of Kyle remain and CLC has been completely unresponsive to correct. In addition, we have since seen some other short-cuts taken with our project that include: * no rolling/leveling of the sod. Basically, you need high-tops to walk in the yard without twisting your ankle in a hole * little/no weed barrier installed beneath majority of rock beds such that within a few months, there was more grass growing in the beds than the yard. Having to weed a rock bed every couple of weeks defeats the entire point of having a rock bed. The solution we will likely employ is to hire another landscaper to come back and do it right. * we grossly over-paid (compared to a previous contractors quote) CLC to install French drains on either side of our pool to help ensure no drainage issues for our neighbors. Neither was installed to the length of run we were charged and neither works properly because they were not sloped to move water. They sit as underground tubes full of water during rainy stretches like were having now. There were a lot things CLC did right. * price point allowed us to address more landscaping projects than if wed had our pool contractor do the same work. * irrigation system is state-of-the-art and very easy to operate * before the snow storm this past winter, the selection of plants CLC chose was beautiful and rugged in the Texas heat. * accent lighting very well done and trouble-free * quality of sod they used is much better than what our builder installed or what weve used to patch problem areas as DIY projects. But zero effort to work with us to correct compliance issues from the City is a huge dis-satisfier. Us having to try and maintain weed-ridden rock beds takes far more time than if wed planted directly in the ground. So ultimately, I didnt want to write a review slamming them, but I would never recommend them either. We considered a law suit, but our legal consultant advised that courts would be lenient to contractors due to the pandemic, so basically, we have no leverage to get the work corrected.

They came out and mowed/edged our yard and removed the grass with catcher and took the grass away. Our lawn looks like a golf course. Happy with their service

Travis and John did an exceptional job on our overgrown yard. They really took their time and made sure they didnt miss anything, and even asked us if they could cut down some invasive bamboo. I could not recommend them or this company enough! We will definitely keep using this company in the future.

Chad at CLC did an amazing job on our landscaping. We are a new construction and our back yard and driveway looked like the surface of the moon. We had a nice fire pit made in our back yard that was completely unusable due to lack of walkway and no where to put chairs. I had two other companies come out but only Chad took the time to come up with a plan. We didn t really know what we wanted to our driveway and back yard to look like, but he took the time to ask the right questions and then had a plan in less than a week. He will tell you that he s not the cheapest but I m pretty happy with the quality and creativity he brought to the project. On top of that, Brett, the on site supervisor, gave us piece of mind when a fire alarm erroneously went off. He came right back to the house during his lunch break to confirm our house was not burning to the ground. We had some minor erosion caused by some heavy rains and they have been back to fix it. I am very satisfied with the quality CLC brings and I would recommend them if you want landscaping but aren t sure what kind of design you want.

I heard my dogs barking and walked out to see through my window a guy opening my gate and walking into my backyard. I walked out and had to scream over the headphones a CLC worker was wearing to asking him why he was on my property. He told me who he was with and showed me his shirt. He did end up leaving after I told him to get off of my property because I did not hire CLC in any form and had never heard about them before. As a business in Texas, you would think your workers would check to make sure they re arriving at the correct address and contact the owners before starting service so they don t almost end up being a footnote in castle law cases. I definitely will never be using this service now that I know they might just work on someone else s lawn if I hire them.

They communicated well with me and fixed my sprinklers. The three guys who came were wonderful and knew what they were doing. Would definitely recommend them.

Please do not hire this company. They have predatory billing practices. They will keep charging your credit card even after you cancel services. If you call there offices, you will not be answered, nobody to speak too.

Outstanding service and communication. This year has been hard on the landscaping business--we contacted Chad and CLC about six months ago to design and install some landscaping and irrigation in our front yard. From the onset, they were always on top of communicating with us and were always on time to our appointments. While we had to postpone a few times because of excessive rain and schedule backups...they ALWAYS let me know and kept me in the loop. Install took a few weeks, but the quality is top notch and I appreciated Chad taking the time to come out and do the final walkthrough and punch list himself--shows pride in his company and their work.

CLC replaced a French drain system with a much improved French drain system and we are very happy with the results. Everyone at CLC was helpful and courteous and we spent a lot of time going over the project with Chad. Would highly recommend this company!

Don t use CLC Landscaping. My mother first communicated with Chad in October 2019. His company installed a sprinkler system for my mother in her fully sodded backyard. They destroyed her yard. They refuse to come fix their gross mistakes. Her yard is completely torn up, rocky, uneven, and is pretty much just mud. Her grandchildren can t even toddle around because it so dangerous. The system they installed isn t even fully functional (none of the drip systems in the beds work).They have been supposedly coming out to fix it for weeks, but have not. Unfortunately, they have been paid for the work, and apparently lack work ethic and character. My mom s neighbor is Will P., who also left a negative review below. While destroying my mom s yard, they cut Will s sprinkler line. Chad s response is false to Will s complaint. Will had to call another company to finally come out and actually fix his sprinkler so that it would function properly.

We loved the service we were receiving when first signing up with CLC. Then they started forgetting about us on the schedule regularly (we had to call to remind them about us), would not completely mow the yard down - it looked terrible like they hadnt even come, we paid extra for weed servicing and it looked like they completely stopped doing that weeks ago, and then came to do a poor mowing job ONCE AGAIN and charged us an overgrown fee?! Having a bi-weekly service, I see no way how this is our fault. They are the yard experts, thats why we hired them?! When we talked to them about the charge they then recommended the once a week service because our yard grows too fast.. We would have been completely fine doing that, had they told us this BEFORE adding the unexpected fee on our bill. Communication absolutely horrendous. They offered to take off the charge completely if we decided to changed to the weekly service - we absolutely did not want to do that and asked for the overgrown charge completely refunded and told them that we were cancelling. They did not take off the whole overgrown fee and proceeded to charged our card on file. Not impressed whatsoever. Do better.

First let me start off by saying I am not happy to leave this review. I have never left a bad review and really debated if I should leave this one. However, in the end I believe that if I didnt express my concerns, than how can I expect CLC to attempt to resolve the issue as they move forward with other clients? Chad Currie has no doubt worked very hard to build a successful landscaping business. However as businesses grow, its natural to have to expand your team and delegate responsibilities in order to serve more clients. It is in that regard that I write this review. This is not for Chad, but rather his employee, Bryan Perez. Bryan, Chad has entrusted you to help build his business and move CLC in a positive direction. Part of that entails creating new clients, but also making sure your existing clients remain happy. All businesses are in the people business. You must go above and beyond to create customer loyalty. Half-apologies where you say you are sorry but then sort of blame the client will not get you from good to great. How you react to this constructive criticism will tell a lot about you. Will you give a long reply with a well thought out defense of why you are not wrong, or will you take a look in the mirror and sincerely hold yourself accountable? I hope it is the latter. That is what Chad and CLC deserve. I have two books I want to recommend because I believe they will help you deal with unhappy clients. I say unhappy, because anybody can successfully deal with a happy client. You as the manager show your true worth in how you deal with unhappy clients. First, check out Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink. In the book Jocko discusses how great leaders take ownership of all areas of their life, even those that are not their fault or responsibility. Instead of looking at how the client was wrong, good leaders always ask what could I have done different to make the situation better? If you take this attitude sky is the limit for you! Second, check out Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh. In my opinion all business owners and their employees should read this book. Delivering Happiness discusses how to build company culture and how to create the absolute best customer experience ever...the kind that creates real loyalty. Bryan, go above and beyond and read one if not both of those books. When you do reply and I will change my review to five stars! I wish you health, happiness, and success always!

Professional and reliable

Update: As the company has grown service has gone down. Most recently they scalped a large portion of my yard and damaged the fence and gate to my back yard . Its been over a month and after 2 emails and a phone call, no one has scheduled to come out and fix the fence. Very unfortunate since they had such high standards when I first hired them almost 2 years ago. Original review: CLC is the only company Id hire in South Austin. They offer quality service for my yard (1/3 acre lot) at a reasonable price. Their crews are kind and thoughtful of the property they are servicing. Cant ask for much better.

I highly recommend CLC Landscaping for weekly lawn mowing. They are reasonable priced. I also use the Turf Management treatment - No Weeds !!

They ve been doing our yard for the last 3 years. They have good pricing and work quickly and efficiently. They do everything from cutting the lawn to trimming our oleanders and red tips. They re also getting ready to redo our privacy fence. They do a good job.

This is an awesome company to work with, Chads crew did great work on a job we could not do ourselves. Highly recommend them for the more complex design build landscape jobs.

It might have taken a while to get a starting time set but it seems to have been worth it. Jose and Luis showed up on the start date and did a fantastic job. They had to wheelbarrow everything from the street into the far part of the backyard. No complaints, no whining, just two hard working guys with a great attitude. Jose was able to answer any concerns that I had and all questions that came up about the project. And did a great job. I will use this company again in a heart beat.

They ll never come. Claimed to use automated texts but it s a guy name Chad who has a hard time keeping his word. We ve tried multiple times to get them to come. Every time it s an excuse, not solutions. I recommend getting a cheap mower instead of booking them. Nope we ve got the right company .

Called 2 weeks ago about getting some landscaping rocks removed from my yard. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and asked me to send over some information and he would send me a quote. After a week I never heard from him. I contacted him again and he claims he accidentally deleted my text and had no way to get a hold of me. He then said he would send over a quote shortly. It has been an entire week AGAIN and I have still not heard from him! Not a way to run a business! I will never do business with this company and will warn others from doing so as well!
