We are in awe at the level of quality work SDLC does. Absolutely zero corners cut, everything done right and done to last for many many years. Jeff and his crew are so easy to work with and very communicative. Jeff checked in with us daily, in person almost always, but if for whatever reason he wasn’t able to he always made sure to call early in the work day as well as after the day’s work was over. His entire crew was extremely professional and able to answer any of my questions as well. They all communicated any changes that were made with anyone that was on our project promptly so everyone was always on the same page. Again, attention to detail and level of quality are incredible. The peace of mind we have knowing everything was done correctly and will never have to be replaced or fixed is priceless. I have already recommended SDLC to friends and will be using SDLC for our next project.

We found Jeff through Armstrong design and are very happy we did. Jeff immediately understood our vision and was enthusiastic about helping us realize our vision. We had an empty-slate backyard that only needed a couple of trees removed before we could begin. We now have a beautiful horizontal cedar fence, tiled hardscape, a water feature and gas fire pit, a lush lawn, trees, and an array of plants that create the Asian-inspired tranquility we envisioned. Jeff is easy to work with and his crew, including, Ezequil, Norberto, Sal, and Donald worked super hard and were courteous and respectful to our home, the (frequent) changes we wanted, and in helping us make great decisions when we were uncertain. Jeff makes sure his work is done right and is built to last. We will use San Diego Land Care in the future and we recommend their work.

Jeff has a good eye and is generally prompt and communicative. He took great care to ensure that we would get the design we wanted. We had one minor misunderstanding but he took care of it the next day. Crew was hardworking and fastidious and didn't complain when a few plants had to be repositioned.

Buyer beware of an extremely unprofessional and rude owner! I hired Jeff, the owner of San Diego Land Care to complete a very large landscaping project last summer. Like other reviewers, I went through Armstrong Garden Center and assumed they carefully vetted their contractors. I was very happy with the landscape implementation and Jeff's crew, especially Gumaro, was very polite and helpful. However, post-implementation, Jeff has been extremely unpleasant and unprofessional to work with, to the point of nearly STARTING A FIST FIGHT with someone he had just met. Check out some other Yelp! reviews of San Diego Land Care and you’ll see that my concerns about Jeff's lack of professionalism are shared by others. Post-implementation we’ve experienced a number of problems with the irrigation system he installed. We've found that some plants were improperly planted with large air pockets around the root balls, causing them to die. We also had him seal our driveway with polymeric sand, which he assured us was worth the extra cost because it would last for a long time without washing away. Within a few months we found that parts of it had indeed washed away. These are some of the concerns that led my husband and I to repeatedly contact Jeff for resolution. Jeff is a person who always needs to be right, so if you raise any concerns with him about his projects, he immediately becomes defensive, reacts very unprofessionally and rudely, and tries blame anyone but himself. Most recently, he met an employee from Armstrong and the owner of my yard maintenance crew at my house to discuss how to resolve the ongoing irrigation problems we've experienced post-implementation. While meeting with the owner for just a few minutes, Jeff repeatedly insulted him and then nearly started a fist fight with him. The owner asked me to call the Sheriff because Jeff was threatening him. Jeff then stormed over to his truck and drove off without resolving the issues we raised. On several other occasions when I've contacted him about irrigation problems, Jeff didn’t take any accountability for his work. He instead blamed and insulted my yard maintenance crew. Here's one excerpt from his e-mails to me: “Average maintenance individuals have no idea what they are doing. They broadcast fertilizer which never gets watered in — Worthless. They also have no idea how to water as well — Most don't care as long as they get paid each month — Then blame issues on SDLC. -lol thats easy!” It should be noted that my yard crew had not done any of the things that Jeff accused them of. These types of interactions with Jeff are typical. In addition, he is very unresponsive to phone calls and e-mail post-implementation. The last time we contacted him, it took over a month and numerous e-mails and phone calls to get a curt and insufficient response from Jeff. An Armstrong employee witnessed the near-fist fight he started at my home and Jeff's ongoing aggressiveness and unprofessionalism, I don’t think Armstrong will be referring him any more business. I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for landscaping services until Jeff gets the help he seems to need to manage his anger issues.
