Delivery never arrives on time and the grass is very ugly

They had a great selection. Helped me to load my car. Sod was nice and fresh.

Told us we could pick up grass today. Went down there and there is no grass available. Wasted an hour of driving and gas.

Purchased 3 pallets of Palmetto and yard now looks great. Good quality grass and very helpful staff. It on a 1st come 1st serve basis so check ahead for grass to be in stock. They are very responsive.

Excellent service and top quality grass

Had several great experiences here. I only needed to fill in some bare spots on my my lawn. They sold to me by the piece and workers there were helpful and courteous. I will definitely go back to them when I need more.

Ordered 1 palette of Bermuda grass to cover my small backyard with, the men that helped me were so informative and kind, Mr. Howard made everything so easy, it was extremely reasonably priced and the pieces of grass/sod were in perfect condition. Out of the entire palette there were only three pieces that were cut strangely. I definitely recommend the grass co.

All the crew at The Grass Company were very kind and helpful. Howard the owner returned my phone call within minutes and always replied to my texts . This was my first time buying grass and wasn t sure what was best for our climate. We bought grass for our outdoor wedding and came back for more bc it turned out so beautiful and green . I will update this review with pictures in the months to come .

Outstanding service! I met the young man named Pascua. Who apart from treating us with kindness and respect, hes also very efficient, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about his work and the services Grass Co. provides! Pascua calmly answered all of our questions while giving us suggestions, plus he gave us some good tips for our new grass installation. Highest quality grass in the area. Bought 3 pallets of zoysia palisades and every single piece was intact and delivery was on time.

The gentleman at 333 Enrique M Barrera Pkwy is very helpful and sod,dirt and rock is very reasonable. I ran short on a pallet of sod and he was kind enough to wait for me to purchase another to complete my project before he closed for the day. Will continue using his services.

I received terrible service from the Grass Company. I do not recommend at all. I sent someone to purchase quite a few pieces of sod to continue sodding my yard after the location that I originally purchased the sod from ran out. I requested the same variety of Bermuda however I received a type of Bermuda that was totally different. The owner suggested another type that he had sitting on his lot and confirmed that it was greener and would make a better match. He sent a picture and in fact at least from the distance seemed like a better match. We were allowed to exchange. What I received was garbage, in very bad shape. Half bare and discolored, some were broken pieces. Many have a very thin layer of soil underneath. Although a different color/variety, I would have been much better off with the original batch and would have used it elsewhere. Although I sent several pictures, the owner will not take responsibility. Never again. Because I didn t pick up the sod personally, I believe I was taken advantage of. Never again!

I purchased 4 pallets of St Augustine nearly a year ago and today I have the greenest and most plush yard in my neighborhood. These folks are excellent, their grass is fresh and advice they give on exactly how to lay it, water it and care for it was invaluable. They even sent me text messages with written instructions for care. Very well done!

The grass company is the best. I bought grass a year ago and they help you every step of the way. I am still texting them for advice and they tell me what type of fertilizer to use and what type of ant killer to use. My yard looks great.

We had so many questions and Howard patiently answered each one and continues to do so 2 months later. We purchased and had delivered 16 pallets of Zoysia Zeon and could not be happier, it is so thick and green, it s like walking on clouds. After reading the reviews of several grass companies I opted to drive across town to The Grass Company and I am so glad I did! I had a great experience. The employees were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Howard is quick to respond to any and all questions. After a misunderstanding on my part Howard resolved it quickly and thoughtfully. Our grass looks amazing! I highly recommend them.

When I telephoned them to know about grass prices, the immediate response was a recording for me to leave a message. Then I received in text the answers I was looking for. Great!, I thought, I am going right now and make a purchase. I arrived to this address and no one was there. More phone calls produced the same outcome as before and the same text answer. Driving back home I found some guys selling grass at Culebra and Calaveras. They solved my needs paying the same price The (ghost) Grass Co. offered.

I called probably 7 different companies to inquire about grass. The Grass Company/Howard were by far the best priced and most professional. Howard was with a customer when I called, so I sent a text. Immediately got back an auto reply with details of cost per pallet, varieties of grasses offered, how much a pallet covered by the square foot, cost for delivery, instructions for watering grass and caring for it after installed, a homemade weed killer using safe items you already have at home, and Howards business address and license number. We coordinated everything via text, he dropped off and gave a few tips. Ive referred his business to several people already. Definitely a great company to use and refer others to use. He was aiming to deliver around the lunch hour, but because of other deliveries and the grass farm guys going on lunch, he arrived by 3pm. He communicated with me a few times to let me know his projected drop off time, which was great. Grass was quality and my yard looks amazing. I installed myself to save money, and Im very pleased with the sod I received.

Just had sod installed today. After calling a dozen or so places I found The Grass Co. Howard was very helpful and explained to me how to measure my yard. I was scheduled to have my sod delivered and installed on Saturday. Howard called and said they could install it today(friday) if I would like. I agreed and his guys showed up this afternoon. I could not be more pleased. They stayed til after dark doing the install. The guys even swept up the street where the truck was and some dirt had fallen. They went above and beyond on the install. They made sure the sprinklers were all clear also.. i will gladly recommend them to everyone I know..

***Quality product with incredible service!*** I just picked up 3 1/2 pallets from Howard and his team. The service was top notch, he explained how to install, take care of, and walked me through everything I needed to know. I Loved how patient he was. Many other grass places just want you off the phone. He is passionate about helping others and takes pride in his services and product. His staff is also incredible and set the bar in my opinion. I would give this company no stars if that was an option. IF he communicates with you, its only one word responses or very short. Our 3 pallets of grass that we wanted was set to be delivered be delivered on a Saturday lunchtime. They were very late. No one called us to say driver having problems with brakes. Then we agreed on the next Friday between 9-10...no grass. I finally get text message saying they harvested wrong grass and delivery would be Saturday. Still no grass! Now its too wet outside....thats fine...but TELL US!!! NO COMMUNICATION UNLESS I PUSHED FOR AN ANSWER! So many of our days wasted. We work full time. We cannot afford wasted days! Do not call this company if you value your time.

Very nice people attend to you. Theyll give you the attention you deserve that other places will not. Theyll explain the types of grass how to place it and care for it. Prices are very reasonable.

If there was a negative rating, I would give it. Where do I start? The grass was not delivered on time, lost the whole weekend. Never answered the phone to say what the problem was or bother to call. When I finally got a hold of them, they came up with a bunch of excuses. He said he could drop of fresh grass on Monday, not the one sitting on the pallet all weekend. When they dropped it off(late again) the grass had obviously been sitting on pallet for a while and he could not even spot the grass as promised. Horrible service and terrible grass, I would avoid this place at all costs.

Ordered grass 10 days in advance for Monday morning. We did have storms over the weekend, I did not know this would affect grass delivery. As I waited to the end of the delivery window I inquired to Howard about it with a response of my customers know the delays when we have rain like this. Well he didnt teach me that til now , Im a new customer, and would have been a regular one, not many pallets, just many orders. Then he advised me it will be Wednesday afternoon. Im a understanding customer, no prob. With no answer to my vms Wed and Thurs. He responded to a text Thurs evening say delivery will be Fri. Another inquiry at 430 Fridag informs me his truck drivers wife went into labor and has his truck and no delivery available til Monday............Well CONGRATULATIONS delivery guy, can someone give Howard a ride or Uber to the hospital to deliver grass thats a week late?

Don t hire The Grass Company if you value communication or your patience. While I will admit Howard was pleasant to talk to initially, more often than not I was greeted to unanswered calls, a full voicemail box, or excuse after excuse. Most of my frustration could have been avoided had I just walked away from the deal at the first sign of this horrible communication. I initially asked a question through the website Thumbtack; after a few days went by with it unanswered I decided to call Howard. I had a great conversation and I needed time to think about some of the stuff he mentioned on the call. Later I hired him via Thumbtack and asked another question on the website (2 notifications would have been sent to him). After several days of not hearing back I decided to email him directly with my questions and the fact that I wanted to hire him. Another several days went by and I eventually called him only to be greeted by a message saying his voicemail box was full. By this point I should have been smart and realized I was in for a headache if it was so hard to give someone money to do a job. But he did return my call later that day and we set a date to have the grass installed. Instead of him keeping me up to date on what was going on, I had to constantly text him to ask. My install was pushed back a day due to no fault of his (weather) but once again I had to ask what the new timeline was. Eventually I was greeted with great news that they were 20-30 minutes out from my house. After 2+ hours went by without them showing up or hearing anything, I decided to let him know I was cancelling the job due to lack of communication. I got a half ass apology and more excuses. Howard could have salvaged things even at that point but with his lack of empathy and no sense of urgency, he lost my business

Howard and his team are exceptional. He is a no frills, just get it done kind of guy. This company lays everything out in advance and thus I HIGHLY recommend them. Way to go The Grass Company!

Im so glad I found this place. I was going to buy from Milbergers but they were more expensive and their customer service was lacking. I found the Grass Co and talked to Howard. He was awesome and very helpful and informative. Plus his prices were much less expensive than Milbergers and more affordable. He delivered on time and the grass looked great. Howard gave me good advice on how to lay the grass etc. Overall Im very satisfied with this place and recommend it. We used Zozia JaMur by the way, and its a very nice looking grass. Somewhere in the middle of St Augustine and Bermuda.

Howard did a horrible job and ripped me off for $15,000.00. Enough said.

Howard laid a new lawn for us and did an excellent job. This was our eleventh move and the lawn work was the best I ever had.

I used this company to buy 2 pallets of St. Augustine sod. The grass was in excellent shape and it was less expensive than most others I called. I paid $140 per pallet with delivery included! Howard was very nice and he said it is his familys business. I like to work with small local companies like this. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars was because he was supposed to deliver the sod on Friday afternoon but a rain storm came and he had to deliver it the next day. I understand delays due to weather are uncontrollable but he didnt call until the next morning to let me know. I tried to call him twice Friday evening to ask what was going on but got no answer and his voice mail box was full.
