As a customer and knowing a few service providers this company is horrible! Customer service is 3rd party and all of the services are 3rd party. They take a percentage of service providers tips and customer service are not trained well. They put you on hold to read how to handle situations and when that isnt adequate they reach out to a supervisor. Again you are working with a company that sends people that dont work for the company. Whenever extra services are offered they charge 30% on top of the fee from the service provider. If you like your provider go direct after you build trust. Dont let this company abuse them and over charge you for other services and steal a percentage of tips! When you tip a server they keep it all because they earned it, why should it be different here!?!

I trusted this company to provide a service and respect my property. They failed to do so. They sent a contractor out to mow the grass and he cut threw my hvac unit wires and damaged my unit. Total inconvenience I sent them email after email explaining what happened how much it cost to repair, evidence of damages, and they completely ignored their liability. I have not received any reimbursement or contractor information to pursue legal action. Consumer beware and avoid this company.

Called them on a Tuesday to get a total price with fees and taxes. Agreed to service at that price. Then I receive an email showing that the price was without fees and taxes. I contacted customer service and told them Im not interested in their service at that price. I messaged the crew assigned to my property and told them not to arrive on my property. Guess what? They arrived and did a terrible job cutting the yard extra low. Not sure if passive aggressive or just a poorly run business. Ive contacted my credit card to refuse payment. Beware.

I had given a low rating because my yard was not completed, Kat got in touch with me, they gave me a refund, they solved the problem, so i am changing my rating from a 3 to four and a half. Thankyou for being so prompt.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! My lawn was supposed to be scheduled to get cut May 23,2023 they rescheduled for May 24, 2023. On May 24 2023 I recieved a rltext that someone named Cory was on his way at 12:29pm. No one ever showed up. At 3:30 pm I texted asking for ETA and was told that They could not access the left side of my yard due to pet and obstructed view. My pet is an indoor Schnoodle 23lbs and was Inside at the time. Also, the entrance to my yard is on the Right side if the home. I also checked my camera footage and No one ever showed up. They lied!

Lawnstarter cannot service me with a stable crew !! My wife has Dementia from her CIVD INFECTION 3 years ago. I have a 65# Stafforshire Terrir who is very protectiv of her. All I request of them is a 15 minute advanced call that they are coming so I can secure him inside by closing the doggie door. They find that an imposition !! I have had 4 mowings by 4 separate crews and a 5th also refuse service ths week. I am DONE WITH THEM !!!

Do not book with this company unless you want to get SCAMMED. Each time I was charged a long grass fee. I was doing biweekly for my backyard only for $36 so I changed it to weekly so I wouldnt get charged $81. Tell me why I was charged $48 for weekly service. Why does it cost more than biweekly service m. Then my lawn mower DShaun DuBois cancelled on me because of rain . I have cameras in the front and back of my house. It didn t rain. He canceled on me 3x yet I was still charged a long grass fee. Even in the messages he said he would not charge a long grass fee because it was his fault for rescheduling. So now with this weekly service I got charged $94.18 for just my backyard! So not only was I charged more for weekly compared to biweekly but I was charged a long grass fee despite DShaun DuBois rescheduling on me 3x because of rain . Go with a different company unless you want to be scammed by DShaun DuBois. I even tried to stay with the company but switch to a different guy. Nope he is the only guy that services that area.

I originally had a bad experience with my service, but the customer care agent I was able to speak to made it right, even offering to hand select the professional team that will come do the next cut. Though originally very frustrated, she at least took the time to listen (Via email) and to understand the complaint.

For the most part, LawnStart has been very good to me. Granted I know there are people who dont want to work or to come out my way......I just seem to get them. But, the office is very professional and very nice, they have helped me to work through my couple of whoass and made me feel much better.

Very fast and almost never miss a mow. When they do have to miss, they notify me ahead of time and reschedule within a couple of days without me having to do anything.

I use this service for lawn mowing and weed eating. I am please with the service, however was charged an additional charge for high grass when the grass wasn t that tall. Was shocked to see the charge.

I have been using LawnStarter since I moved to San Antonio last year. My crew always knocks it out of the park every time they show up. I never have to ask them to do anything they just take care of us as if it was their own yard. Lacy has the golden mower and I have the yard all the other dads in the neighborhood dream about. Ive been using this service for over a year. I get pretty good communication and its a convenient business for sure! Its very easy to reschedule or pause services as needed. I had a hiccup last month, and they responded to my concern promptly and resolved the issue. Yesterday they sent Aurian O Medina and he was great. He was knowledgable and took the time to answer my questions. I am very happy with them and would definitely refer the business and Aurian anytime.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU USE THIS COMPANY!!!! They run on contract mowers and cannot ever guarantee that your lawn will be mowed. They skipped over our service twice and despite contacting them about this multiple times, they said there was nothing they could do and then offered to cancel our subscription. We had not even mentioned cancelling and they offered it. They know they cannot provide a reliable service and therefore, I highly recommend you do not waste your time trying to get your lawn mowed by them!!!!

This company is a fraud. If they are a real company, they have terrible customer service. The same lawn team member has stated they were coming to do the lawn 4 times.

Customer service representative hung up when i decided to back out due to possibility of double the rate due my grass length.

Unfortunately the work performed was subpar, The 2 individuals that showed up did not even finish weed weeding correctly nor did they correctly mow the lawn or care about the details of the yard and it only took them 5 minutes to finish I was outside helping to make sure they would get everything done correctly still they failed this task. But on a positive note, We were supposed to get a refund if the work was unsatisfactory so good on you for that but 1st impressions are everything arent they, right now you think I am a bad dude but honestly I just want what I pay for.

Do not waste your time or money with this company. On multiple occasions they have marked work completed and did not even show up to do the work. It is generally hard to get ahold of someone when you do call in.

Bradley would come to do my yard once every two weeks. He always did a great job and took note when I had concerns.

I have taken lots of their business and every one of the customers that used and they all said they will send anybody to your home that is willing to pay them for the leads and it was never the same person or lawn crew twice and some of them caused lots of damage and really did not seem to care.

Do yourself a favor. Use another company. These folks are just bad. Sloppy work and poor customer service. Just take a glance at LawnStarter on the Better Business Bureau s web site. It speaks volumes.

I ordered leaf clean up and removal. The crew did not complete the service ordered. They did not pick up the bags of leaves. They also lied and told me they would come by the next day to pick them up. They never did. I ve called multiple times and all I get from Customer Service is they will contact the crew and to wait 24 hours. Don t waste any of your hard earn money on this company. You will be disappointed.

I had been searching for a small business that still care about customer service and that as a senior citizen, I could afford. I have contacted several that would not do my small yards for under $75.00 biweekly. They were rude and almost laughed in my face. This guy responds to my texts quickly and gave me dignity And has a price I can afford. Plus, they made suggestions of addl yard work like cutting down unwanted trees and clear out my flower beds. I just got charged $50 5 days after i paid $40 for just my front lawn. Theyve come 2x so far, but charged 3x. I dont like my money being messed with.

Taylor has been great and given it is summer and the grass isnt growing as fast we still like him coming weekly. He has been honest and usually tries and cleans some beds even though that is not included if not all the yard needs mowed. Great service and easy to use app!

My parents tried to get their backyard mowed and were told their lawn didn t require service so they left and refused service.

We moved into our new home in March and signed up with Lawn Starter pretty quickly, and we ve been very pleased so far. Our yard is not enormous, so they usually are here and gone within about 15 minutes. It always looks wonderful, and a couple of weeks ago when they came by for our scheduled mow, the grass did not need mowing and so they alerted us that they would not be performing (and charging for!) the service that time. I was so delighted with that.

I was happy when I lived in another part of town, but since I moved 2 years ago and re-started with them its been a complete bust: expensive, unreliable, inferior quality and rude. They use independent contractors so you never know what youre going to get. One guy dumped grass clippings over the fence onto the golf course! Next, we had a guy who hardly ever turned up and then dropped us because the location (Stone Oak Sonterra) didnt suit him. Next we had a pair of guys who spend 15 minutes here zooming around on a riding mower missing the corners and edges and then charge $50. I sent pictures to LS of the bad job, and within minutes got into a text fight with the lawn contractor. He quit before I could fire him. Awful, awful place. Now Im looking for a company that is actually owned by real people you can deal with.

I like using LawnStarter because of its flexibility both with time and crew coming to our house. Our first crew did a bad job and LawnStarter assigned a different crew and got another job done for free. Everyone knows how hard it is to find a trusted reliable person to do your lawn, this company handles it for you.

Do not ever use this company - They did a horrible job on my lawn even after they came back to complete and fix the job. Provider was rude after I pointed out what he did not complete. Called customer service to end all services since this was the first impression from this company I do not want to deal with them. I asked for my next and all services to be cancelled and my card information to be removed. Received an email stating everything that was cancelled but not even a week later I am charged from them again. I again called customer service asking why and I wanted to speak to a supervisor and was told I would wait. They all of a sudden said there was not one available today said they had other customers to get to and hung up on me. So who knows when and if I will hear from a supervisor.

Just all over great app able to pay through it, book appointments, ask any questions and reschedule. Been using for aver a year now

I am highly disappointed in this company. They were scheduled for our third cut on 3/31-4/1. They ask you to give them three cuts to prove how great they are. They proved how terrible of a service they are. We received a notification that our crew was on the way, but they never showed. On Friday we received a message from the crew that stated he had experienced a personal issue but he would be out on Sunday. We agreed. Sunday came and went without any contact or service. Monday, we received a notification that another crew was on their way. We thought that was odd...a crew change without letting us know that this was happening. The two person crew arrived two hours after the on the way notification. This makes things very difficult for dog owners. They were clearly unprepared. They had no blower or even a broom to sweep up clippings. She used a rag and waved it over the sidewalk to sweep . They patchily cut and trimmed part of the front yard, skipping the piece on the side of the house and driveway and were on their merry way. Of course this was after asking through the messages if we wanted to pay the app or them directly. (What? It s supposed to be through the app that s why they have our billing information.) We filed a complaint through the app as our attempts to reach someone by phone over the previous several days failed. Don t expect anyone to answer the phone at this company. We received a message from the crew stating they would be out Tuesday to recut and didn t realize the app said they needed to cut the entire property. We received an email from LawnStarter early (4:00am) Tuesday morning apologizing and stating they were monitoring and that the crew would be out Tues/Weds for recut. I explained that recuts for partial service should be priority and should not be in a two day window like the regular service. No one showed Tuesday, and another early morning email arrived from LawnStarter Wednesday morning. This time stating that the crew would be out to fix their mistakes and then we would be switched to another crew. At this point we have spent 7 days waiting for a complete mow. Well, I m sure you guessed it...no crew on Wednesday...surprise! An early morning email (1:00am this time) arrived Thursday stating that my recut had been rescheduled for April 10-12. Now a 3 day window that opens another day out. We re basically going to be at the window for what would be our next cut. No thank you, account canceled. This company is completely unprofessional, the crews are clearly not fully vetted if they show up without a broom. Definitely look elsewhere and save yourself the time and hassle.

Im editing my review based on the customer service interaction I had with Joey at Lawn Starter. My experience with the service was unsatisfactory, but Joey heard my concerns and went above and beyond to make it right. I appreciate that, and although Ive found an alternative service, I will say I was very impressed by his business ethic and integrity. I cant recommend the service based on my own experience, however if you do give it a try, I feel like they truly do honor their satisfaction guarantee.

EDIT 4/21/2021: Ive been able to resolve this. Quality of lawn care has improved and Im back in the app again. Ive used these guys for about a year. At my previous house, they did a great job. After moving, theyve ignored the back yard completely and it now looks like a jungle. The front yard has not been weed-eated and has them growing around the edges of the lawn. Ive been unable to log into their app because it wont accept my password and never sends me the password reset email. When I call them, I sit on hold for 20 minutes and then get sent to voicemail without being able to speak to anyone.

I have been trying to reach customer service for DAYS now and still NO RESPONSE! my service was scheduled for April 22 25. Someone came to my home on Thursday April 22 asking if we needed them to service, i said yes because our backyard grows quick. As i m talking to him i was letting him know that the last guy who came missed some spots and he stated no that s just the way the grass grew. i explained to him that no the first guy who came did an amazing job the second guy did not do the same. He stated for me to cancel with LawnStarter and go with him, which blew my mind because I thought he was with lawnstarter because her knew ALL MY INFORMATION about my previous services, spoke to me by my name and even said the last guy sent him pictures of my lawn the last time he came to service so I was very confused. He told me to specifically cancel with lawnstarter and go with them. I refused his services bc he told me he was with someone else. The next day my app tells me my next scheduled service isn t until 2 WEEKS FROM NOW!!! STILL NO RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Paid to have leaves picked up. Did not pick up just mowed over them and left pieces of leaves everywhere. Called customer service to get credit said I would get a call back from a supervisor about issue never did. Have called multiple times over a week have been on hold, did call back and never got called. Horrible customer service do not use them.

My service was rescheduled more times than I can count. When it was rescheduled, my crew was changed almost each time and I was not told about the reschedule until end of day. Because I have dogs that need to be contained when the crew is at the house, this wasted several days of time I had to spend at home rather than running errands on my days off. When a crew finally did make it to my house, the service was not completed. When a crew was at my house, only the front yard was completed, stating that the gate was locked. The gate was not locked, the crew simply wanted to use the larger gate that does not function instead of the smaller gate that was available. Also, no one called, knocked or rang the doorbell even after previous crews (my crew was once again changed the very morning of so I had no opportunity to message the new crew) had been notified that someone would be home to properly contain my pets. Now I have been charged for a service that was incomplete. To add insult to injury, when I asked the crew specifically for a phone number so that I could talk to them, none was provided. When I called customer support, I was on hold for almost 20 minutes before asking for a call back. Its been over 3 hours and I still havent been called. I have NEVER received such poor service and I cant honestly believe you are still in business. I would do the mow myself if I wasnt 6 months pregnant and my husband wasnt active duty and away on assignment. Edit: I just received a phone call back from Lawn Starter. A full 2 days after I called and requested a call back. Unfortunately, I missed the call and they left a generic message, so now I expect I will wait another 2 days for another call all just to be sure I wont be charged for anything more since I cant delete my credit card information from the app.

Very bad customer service. They rarely reply to their messages and emails, and never pick up their phone. The contractors they hire are also unresponsive. They have missed 3 cuttings already and have delayed my lawn mowing by over 1.5 months now. Grass is almost knee high and my HOA has already been giving me warnings. What s the point of paying for their service if they never do their job? I highly recommend against going with these guys. They have a minimum of 3 cut contract and I will definitely be leaving after this last 3rd cut, if they ever show up. DO NOT go with LawnStarter!

My crew never showed up, then after I cancelled everything they tried to claim they didnt come because of incleme weather like we dont live in the same city! If you try to call customer service you WILL be on hold for an hour and they will not call you back for a day or two! Just not worth it at all. I wouldnt do it.

STAY AWAY. DO NO SIGN UP WITH LAWNSTARTER No customer support. Called and stayed on hold for 2+ hours. Picked the option for the sign up for lawn starter (option 1) on their customer support number. They picked up quick and then told me there is no option to cancel with them but would need to try the option I waited 2+ hours for. Would not direct me to a supervisor and said there is no one else to talk to regarding this.

Joey, Experience Specialist, asking for the opportunity to correct our situation. My husband called several times the same day and left messages. In true LawnStarter form, it has been nearly a week later and there has been no call back. It seems the apathy must begin at the top. This is absolutely the worst customer service I have received from anyone.

Please dont utilize their services. My experience with them was horrible. 1. Communication with Customer service support is none. 2. The crew dont really care about your lawn 3. Communication from support to the crew is poor. 4. They damaged my property and I was told 24-48 hours someone will come out and assess still waiting 90+ hours later

What happened to this app? It was great when it started. Now...no one answers the phone or take a long time to respond through app. My crew disappeared for a month and when I try to contact them, it says you cannot contact the person. When I contacted the company, I get a response saying they are busy and will address my ticket in 3 days (and that was 5 days ago). When I call, its the hold music with all are busy. UGHHH...

I called on Saturday, May 28, made an appointment for May 31 - June 2, its now 7:32pm on June 2 and no one has shown up and no contact from anyone. I have sent two emails and waited on hold 3 times over 45 minutes and still cant get in contact with anyone. For being a nation wide company its been a horrible experience and headache. Needless to say I wont be using this company in the future and Ive already started looking elsewhere. Dont waste your time!!!

Unreliable. Unprofessional. No call, no show, no response to messages. Crew sent from sunrise lawn care, Carmen Sigmon, argumentative, blamed customer fir not being understanding of how busy they are. Apparently no call, no show is acceptable to them.

Do your self a favor and use Angie list or word of mouth to find a lawn service. This is just a middle man that wont get a crew out to your house. I had 2 no shows in a row, and when you speak to customer service they dont really seem to care. Called to cancel no problem, so at least that was good.

The customer service is very frustrating. You call and they put you on hold for hours, if you ask for a call back it takes days for them to respond. They came out to mow my lawn and they only did the front and now I cannot get a hold of anyone.

Trust the reviews on punctuality. The crew can reschedule you as many times as they want with no consequences and no priority given to you. Customer service is unresponsive.

I scheduled for them to mow my lawn last week. Thursday comes and they cant come due to weather. Thats perfectly reasonable. I was rescheduled to Sunday. Sunday comes and goes with no word. Monday morning I get a message saying they couldnt show due to personal problems. Ok, unprofessional but I understand, things happen. Rescheduled to Wednesday. Wednesday comes, I get a message saying theyre on their way. Great. Finally. 30 minutes later I get an email saying the crew cant service my address anymore but theyll find another crew for me. No thanks. You clearly didnt want my service so Ill find someone that actually does. Good day. Edit: So giving them another chance I called yesterday around 6 PM. Im a reasonable man so I figured maybe he went home. I waited today. I sent an email around Noon. It has been 4 hours which I personally believe was ample time for you to get back with me. So you clearly dont need my business or anyone elses. Avoid at all costs.

Ive been a customer of Lawn Starter for almost two years now. Recently, the guy they had assigned to our house started pushing back our service. This happened over and over again for a month. I wrote to customer to service to ask what the problem was and they escalated me to tier 2 support. At that point, I was told that we do not have the capacity to take you on as a customer and I have cancelled your account; we hope to expand service in your area soon; be safe in these trying times. This is pretty unacceptable for a long term customer. How about taking care of your existing customers instead of taking on new ones? Im legitimately impressed with how poorly their customer service is handled.

This is the worse treatment I have received in any service ever!! Scheduled this for the first time for Sunday NOBODY showed up or called or anything, then I was on hold for 2 hours nobody answered, then I got a called back and rescheduled for yesterday, again no call no show and I m sitting here waiting and waiting. I have been on hold for countless hours and nobody responds or calls me back. What kind of business is this and where can I report them! They have my credit card information on file. NEVER SHOWED UP AND DIDNT EVEN NOTIFY ME THEY WERENT COMING. This is a national website that hires locals to mow yards and charges the customer twice what they pay the local people. Now I know. RUN from this company and post as many negative reviews you can until they go out of business.

Been fighting cancer and am unable to mow my lawn. I tried LawnStarter mainly due to the price. I m happy with the services and find their employees courteous and professional. Wish I could afford other services they offer.

This was first and worse experience using this service I was scheduled and rescheduled 3 times with different lawn guys after the 3rd cancel from the 3rd lawn guy I canceled everything and had to pay someone else to cut my lawn almost double the amount I would have saved with LawnStarter but my grass was getting out of control their customer service over the phone was great but other than that the whole experience was trash I would message the guys assigned to my yard on the app and they would respond like once or twice in the beginning but when it came time to cut my grass they were a no show

The service by this company did not hold up to the contractual agreement. Although I have been a loyal customer, the same was not true by LawnStarter with their customer service! I was told that lawn crew quit. There was no notice notification to the customer. When asked why I was not notified, I was told by a woman on the phone, We are a contact free company. My app said my lawn would be cut and tees trimmed early this week didn t happen! As a result, my lawn remained unkempt the past week without adherence to the scheduled services. I had to contact them to get the details of what was going on. This is totally unacceptable! I immediately found another company to service my lawn. I strongly recommend not using this company-LawnStarter!

Just a temporary service while I save for a lawn mower, but they do a great job mowing and cleaning up the front and back yard.

My service was supposed to happen on Friday 7/23/21. No one ever came or called or messaged nothing. I called LawnStarter that Friday evening was on hold for about 4 hrs to only be hung up on. When I tried calling back they were suddenly closed. I was so upset. Saturday 7/24 I got a text that crew was on the way. I figured at last!! I went to a bday dinner came home expecting my yard mowed NOPE! Still nothing! Completely unreliable and hard to get a hold of someone. I finally got their awful app to work and sent messages regarding my disappointments. The crew member responded on Sunday he is actually was on his way. I asked Are you? He came and cut my grass after he was finished I saw my yard completely butchered in my eyes I was so mad So not professional. He cut my grass way to low exposing roots my grass looks completely ruin and dead. If I could give no star I would. I am completely exhausted and disappointed. I called for a manager the teller forced me to them him my disappointment to only not be able to help as he said he could, just simply wasted my time when I express from the get go I needed a manager like 20 times and was forced to allow him a chance said it s their protocol Completely not the company they represented themselves as! Horrible dependability service and customer service.

I called about 4 days ago, sharing that the person who had cut my grass for 3 yr moved and now my grass is very high. Could you have someone come out. She took my card number and date on it etc. and promise someone would come the next day or the next. Well no show, so I called and she referred me to a another person who said that they were Still looking for someone. Im concern that you/your company has my card number , expiration date, and security code. I called and ask to stop looking as I have someone else. Is there a way you can assure me that my card information is deleted. Im surprised she ask for it before the service. Im concern about that , plus disappointed that she promised service and at the time she didn;t have anyone.

On time, good job by the crew all the way around. Very happy with the service we received.

I think this is my first 1 star review and a real bummer really. Was given a date span for services and noone ever showed up and was not notified that this could happen. I only found out because I called. Sorry for the 1 star.

Problems initially began when service was marked as complete incorrectly. This was followed up with no shows for the next month. Finally, my scheduled service has now been deactivated by the company with no communication and charges for some of the no shows.

The whole experience with LawnStarter was terrible. I needed my lawn mowed and started the bi-weekly service as a new customer. From start to finish, the whole process took 2 weeks; my crew rescheduled 3 times, ghosted me, and then canceled my service after opening a ticket complaining about not receiving my first service. Every time I called Customer Support, I spoke with someone clearly in a foreign call center who is not local to my area (San Antonio), nor knows the lawn crew personally. The separation between customer support, the crew, and the customer is so far that it feels like LawnStarter doesnt care about me as a customer. I finally found a local to cut my lawn. It was significantly more expensive, but I actually felt like they cared about providing a good customer experience. 0/5 stars for this company.

The crew never showed up, twice, with no call or message to reschedule.

Horrible company, was told they were going to show up to mow, never showed up, did this for 3 WEEKS, finally gave up and went with another company. Kept promising service that they knew could not do. Dont use this company! Would like to edit my response, after I posted this response I received one of the most heartfelt and honest emails. Yes they are short handed and dont have the crews at the moment to keep up with supply and demand however, when they do have a crew show up they do a wonderful job. Once they get more help and can commit to showing up I would give them another chance.

The app is nice. But they didn t show up on either of the two days of the time window they provided. They didn t show the day after, or the day after that. I eventually got an email stating they couldn t get to me and that my (past due) appointment was canceled. After my one star review, the poor service continued but LawnStarter did reach out to me to try to resolve the issues. One of the incomplete services was refunded. I commend them for the follow up but still can t recommend this app.

Requested lawn mowing service on 13 September and was scheduled for the16th. As of 18 September no service has been provided. Called the office and now they say service for the 23rd. This is completely ridiculous and irresponsible. Never again

I like the app for communication and are able to order new services not usually associated with normal maintenance. I ve had several different crews and they all seem to do a very good job.-John Hyland

I scheduled service, but it took almost 2 weeks for them to schedule someone to come mow my lawn. By the time the crew arrived they said my lawn was too tall to cut and refused to provide service. I had to cut the grass before I could get another crew to come out. Also, be careful before signing up as you are required to pay for 3 service appointments before you can cancel.

The crew never showed up on more than one occasion. But they marked the job as complete. I had to cut my own yard. I canceled on Oct 4 and they just charged my card again on Oct 12th. DO NOT USE THEM. They dont resolve issues. When I called to report the crew the first time I was told they are subcontractors and dont work for lawn starters. Basically there was nothing they could do. They wouldnt let me speak with a manager and hung up on me repeatedly.

My husband had knee replacement and we were needing a lawn service. 1st job was done well, but we had to remind the gentleman we requested our clippings be placed in our bin. They then advised we would be charged more for that service. Ok...that works. However, the next week, the crew cancelled and they didnt arrange a new crew evidently fast enough and since it was a holiday weekend, they scheduled it for the following week. No show. Received a e-mail to state a crew would be out today, checked the app and it stated 6/3-6/4. Called and just stated the crew for today cancelled. Now its been 2 weeks since our lawn was mowed and we have a good chance its going to rain the next few days. We were hoping this would be a good service and we could continue on, doesnt appear that way. They are offering $20 credit for posting on Nextdoor. Wonder if its a bad review will I still get the $20? UPDATE 10/20/2021: Last week we received an e-mail from K. Kennedy with LawnStarter with a very nice apology and they acknowledged that there customer service and actual service were not up to the standards they wished them to be. She stated they understood why we would not want to use their services again but offered a $40.00 refund and assured us they were working very hard to improve their customer service along with hiring more reliable contractors. We appreciated the fact they reached out to right a wrong. Currently, we are not needing their service, but if the need arises, we feel we would give them the opportunity to gain our business. Based on this, I will change rating from 1 to 3 stars.

I was scheduled to have my yard serviced today, and when no one showed up I contacted them only to be told my lawn didnt require any service, yet at no point did they ever contact me to say they had arrived. I was then told that I wouldnt be able to get my yard serviced until two days from now at the earliest, even though I was scheduled TODAY. So I dont know which address they went to or what yard they looked at, but it damn sure wasnt mine.

Once they actually find you a crew...and then once that crew decides its a good idea to show up to your house in jurassic park....its like a dream come true. Never mowing the grass again. Once I get the crew who consistently shows up I tip them well. My yard is on bigger side. Had the crew every since then I guess thats the way it works.

They butchered my yard. Did not clean up and left patches.

I was told that my yard was going to be one price and then charged another, even after I had told him that I didnt want the service because I could not afford the amount quoted. Ron, then texts me and says that he was approved to do my yard for $19. Now they charged me 3 times that amount. I called Lawnstarter and they said deal with Ron because they cant see the text messages. Like how does that help or provide customer service at all???

They did provide a great price and showed up on time. They also did cut the grass... Then instead of cleaning up the grass and leaves, they used a blower to blow everything back onto my lawn. Now I have a freshly cut lawn that will now die if I dont pay someone else to come back out and remove the leaves and grass from their job. My lawn literally looks like a big pile of leaves and grass. When I called them to ask them to remove the debris, they stated that they could get me a quote for how much extra they would charge me to complete the original job that was left incomplete. In the end, you get what you pay for. My advise would be to spend the extra $15-$20 up front to get someone to do the job right the first time. Now Im stuck using them for two more times, where Im going to have to pay someone else to come back and remove everything that they cut.

Scheduled to mow my lawn between March 13 and 16. No show!

Poor service. App doesn t work well and did not save information properly. The person mowing did not bother reaching out when he couldn t get the gate open. I was literally home. And the mower got mad at me when i asked he come back and finish the backyard. Then I noticed he broke my sprinkler and essentially he said no I didn t and so they won t take further action. Completely disappointed in the lack of customer service.

LawnStarter does a great job on my lawn..it has never looked so good. They did an awesome job with my planter...it went from overgrown and ugly to beautifully manicured and awesome.Mr Andrew and Mr. Aaron do a great job...at very reasonable prices. I have been a customer since 19 . L.S.subs out the work to other lawn companies. I ve had the same guy (Rick) cutting my yard and then he went mia. They sent a new company to cut my yard. There wasn t a issue with the new company, just built a rapport with Rick. Requested for him to return to cut our yard. He came back and on his 1st cut back, he or the other guy he brought damaged our new patio rug. I sent pictures and asked for it to be replaced. L.S. requested pic and receipt of rug. Sent and now awaiting a refund. After that, 3wks had past and no one cut our yard. Rick went mia again. Randomly, L.S. sent a new company over to cut our yard after I called to complain about not cutting The new crew did a leas than satisfactory job. Sent pics and complained. They gave me $15 off my cut. I ending up having to recut my yard myself in the end. Only reason I have keep them, is the fact we work a lot of hours.

Horrible experience with this company. They do not show up on time, keep canceling the cut of our yard. We ve had 4 different crews that do not show up. They have made many errors and leave the yard looking bad. On top of that they damaged a new patio rug by walking across it with the lawnmower on. We submitted the claim for damage and we are still two months arguing with them. We submitted the proof they requested and they are not wanting to reimburse us for the amount paid! she emails us rugs that are cheap from any online site saying that we can go buy a new one for that amount instead, that is not what we had purchased and she only wants to reimburse us a quarter of the amount we spent. Jessica in the property damage claims department is by far unprofessional and rude with dealing with customers insinuating I am lying about the cost of the rug ! Two months later and they still do not want to reimburse us for damages caused. They claim to be insured but yet do not follow through what they market to clients. They are not on BBB for a reason!

They show up whenever, accuse client of not telling the truth. Charge you for mowing and they didnt show up. After I cancelled all my services from this company they still charged me for a mow not being done. Leaves spare grass every where, weedeating not clean. Don t let the employees trick you into anything, read contract and everything very carefully. Watch your valuables. They will also try to trick you into paying more in cash. Very unprofessional. This business needs to be careful who they are hiring.

In the 3 times I used them , someone came when they werent supposed too ( wrong day ) and they couldnt figure out who it was. They left mowed grass blown onto the lawn , didnt know it was a separate cost to not leave it on the lawn. the last and final straw was when they left my gate unlocked and AJAR , all 5 of my dogs were roaming the neighborhood. The break in price isnt worth the headache....they are near impossible to reach for customer service , ON HOLD FOREVER >>>>>

They text before hand and once they are here they are quick and efficient and my yards look awesome!

I ve been using LawnStarter for at least 2 months now. They assign you to a crew. My crew happens to be Tyler s Touch Lawn Care. Tyler does excellent work. He really leaves your lawn looking lush and healthy. Even with the hot summer days he cuts it at the right length to maintain healthy growth and still that green appearance as long as you do your part and water the grass. I would definitely recommend Tyler as your guy for lawn care.

Horrible customer service! Abbgail from the support department kept blaming me for their employee cutting a strip (the sidewalk edge) of my grass so low the grass was killed. I ask for them to replace the dead grass they said, no because the grass looks fine and that I just need to water it. I have a irrigation system. Then I sent the same pictures again asking them to repair the damage. Abbigail told me that it looked like grass clippings and that the owner is responsible for removing grass clippings. This was my third and final service as I canceled service with them. They offered me a 15% quality credit. What a joke! I will seek legal advice. Stay far away from this company.

They Never show up. They never notify you. You will be waiting for 2 months for them to show up. And when they finally do. They will charge you a long grass cut fee. I canceled the first time. The convinced me to try the service again, and they promised me it would not happen again. Of course it happened again. Canceling now for a second time. Unistalling the app. I will not try a third time. Also notice i have over 53 reviews on here . All legit. Im pretty sure the 4 star and 5 star reviews on here are fake. There is no way this company can perform a desirable service to anyone.

Very poor communication and unresponsive. Dishonest about mowing. I had to get another private company to cut my lawn and Lawnstarter billed me for work another company did and refused to refund to my account. I emailed Lawnstarter 9 times to get my lawn cut in one week and no one showed up. Very poor customer service. I ve been on the phone with them for 30 minutes trying to get a refund.

Do not do business with this company. Poor customer service. I had no way to contact them before service started to verify prices because their app stated I did not have an account with them. When the tech came out I was told one price but was charged 5x the amount between the tech and lawnstarter! When I was finally able to contact lawnstarter I was told there was nothing they could do about it. Horrible company with horrible practices.

Great affordable service! I got tired of being the neighbor with grass over taking the sidewalks. Lawnstarter saved me time and from buying new equipment, that I probably wouldnt even be able to use.

Lawn Starter is a cheater company. They did my lawn mowing only once and charged me for 3 services. I paid 100 $ for only one service. Their staff is dishonest and they report as services done though they have not done it. Negative
