Done Right Landscaping in San Antonio

Ray and his crew have put in new grass for me twice. Both times it was done quickly, professionally and with good quality grass. I highly recommend Done Right Landscaping.

Pass on this landscaping company. No reason to go into all the details because he can t fix the huge mistake his guys made. I told him I wanted him to be at my home to oversee the project and he insisted it would be fine. It is not fine. And furthermore, the amount of money I paid for what I got is insulting. I feel like I got duped. What a rip off!

They were prompt to response and to provide an appointment. The free estimate was received just hour after the visit; however, this estimate was to make the yard presentable with a larger project at a later date. The initial clean-up of the yard came in at $7K. Found someone else that did the exact same initial clean-up of the yard for $700. Could not even imagine how much was going to cost the heavy bulk and hardest part of the project. The other company is going to 1/2 of that next stage for $800.

Some plants that were planted by this company started to die. There are 4 rosemary plants and 3 have died within months.

Unfortunately I would not recommend Done Right. I had them out to bid two new construction landscape jobs for me. After following up two weeks later, I received a text asking for more information about payment schedule and was told they would have the estimates ready soon. I replied to the text, and continued to call to check in every week or two for the next 8 weeks, never receiving a return call or estimate.

I highly recommend Done Right Landscaping. From the initial phone call, to getting the estimate and vision from Ray for our yard, to Simon and his crew for their attention to detail and incredible work ethic. After 2 long days of back-breaking work when I am sure they were completely drained, they still blew and swept everything up (even in the street). Incredible customer service! It has been a great experience and our yard looks (for lack of a better word) AMAZING!!! Could not be happier. My 11 year-old son said our yard looks like it should be on HGTV now :) And I agree. Just fyi, they removed old rock and landscaping, took our yard down to dirt, added in new dirt and landscaping borders, new sod, some river rock and lighting. Love it all.

Done Right isnt just a name, its exactly what Ray and his crew do. From the initial meeting and planning, to installation and even after the job was completed, Done Right Landscaping exceeded every expectation. We had the front yard redone with new plants, shrubs and sod. The crew was on time everyday, left the yard clean and we were in constant contact with any questions we had. I cannot recommend this company enough!

Engaged them for both lawn mowing and installation of rock beds. The landscaping job took longer and was interuupted for many reasons. Grass still grows between the rocks. Mr Montes said he would deal with it but disappeared. I am correcting the work myself, bad back and all. Responding to the owner comments I contacted you after the job. The response was anger directed at me. You reached out to me after I posted the review. You offered me a free top dressing if I would delete the review. Never offered to correct the work. I stand by the review.

Ray and his team were professional, kind, and attentive. They did an outstanding job building a rock wall, leveling the backyard, laying sod, and building a fence for my Mom s cottage. I will use them again! If you want a responsive landscaper who listens to your desires and plans, hired Ray and his team.

I have to leave an honest review on my very shady and sketchy experience with this company. I can definitely provide proof of the all of the unfortunate correspondence with this entire experience with Ray. Audio, text, everything. My husband and I were really looking forward to doing business with this company because were supporters of our neighborhood small businesses. It was a complete waste of time. Luckily he didnt get a dime from us. I dont know if this was more of a discrimination encounter or this guy claims to do jobs completely out of the scope of his actual abilities. He couldnt provide any professional service from the start. Either way, he was Stacy Dash clueless. He only does yard work so dont believe the many services he claims to provide without proof. The known successful companies Ive talked to came ready to educate and help us achieve our renovation goals. He comes over completely unprepared, with attitude. (NOTE: CONSULTATION WAS BOOKED A WEEK IN ADVANCE) He didnt take notes, pictures or even bring a portfolio to back up the projects we were asking for such as rebuilding a porch and rebuilding fences. Anyone can say they can do it or have done it, but if you dont have proof, Anyone in their right mind knows thats an expensive risk. We originally wanted his help with our yard and trees but quickly found out that what he quoted were easily able to do ourselves, cheaper and better than what Ive seen on his site and I know nothing on landscaping. That leaves the fence and porch. I had to repeatedly ask for before and after pictures on his fence and porch renovation experience and he provided excuses and eventually provided pictures that had nothing to do with what we needed help with. Then he follows up on his comical quote and didnt even know who he was talking to or about! He contacts me and not only ask my name but to take pictures of my yard so he can remember. Who does that? Im sorry but its not my job to do yours, instead of wasting time originally, you couldve had all that info from the start. I gave this guy over a month to provide proof, he had nothing because hes never done it. Thats unprofessional, sketchy and to continuously misquote and not even know who youre talking to is simply disrespectful. Every client and potential client should be treated respectfully. If youre too busy then dont bite more than you can chew taking on business you clearly cant help. Basic business 101. Small advice from one business owner to another... if you know you cant do something, dont lie to kick it just to waste peoples time. Faking it until you make is not always the smart move when dealing with educated people. Be more prepared and know what youre doing. Lets see, your 1 star may not be cool, Im sorry you feel that way but its well deserved and try being professional before even getting a chance to waste peoples money. My time was wasted and I wasnt going to spend a dime on sketchy business. Ive seen your very unprofessional responses to people who also have genuine concerns with you and your business and to be honest, it shows your business selective work ethic and comical attitude. Maybe I caught you on a bad day, who knows and who cares but if you want your business to make it big, change your attitude and learn how to do real business. Please be careful on your response because believe me I wont hesitate to post the proof of your unprofessionalism. Good day!

I chose Done Right over a MUCH cheaper, local alternative because Graham had some great ideas for landscaping my front yard, and I needed that kind of vision. Unfortunately, the actual workers were sub-par. They destroyed landscape lighting that was only two months old, then tried to pass it off like they were in poor condition to begin with. They moved rock from the front to the back as instructed, but instead of putting it in the more difficult to reach area I had designated, they shoved the rock under my deck and piled it around my Crepe Myrtle. Instead of three Lantanas and two Upright Rosemarys, I have five Lantanas that will soon be EVERYWHERE (and are all the same color), and that dont give the dimension and variety that was promised. They didnt even try to remove all the rock in the front, instead putting the new border and rock on top of it so that I still have unsightly rock scattered around an otherwise crisp new border, and weeds growing up all through the rock. But worse than all of that was how Ray dealt with it. Upon seeing the destroyed lighting, I explained to Graham that I would pay all but the remaining 10% ($300), and once the lighting was fixed, we could talk. Graham straightened out the lighting as much as possible and fixed the disaster of the wiring mess the workers had left, and then tried to pass it all off as fixed, knowing full well that the lights were damaged beyond repair. Then Ray contacted me, rather brusquely asking when he could pick up the remaining balance, and brushing over the mess his workers had made. I explained the situation, and after a couple of back and forths during which I asserted that a 10% discount was the least he could do, Ray just stopped responding. No apologies, no offer to come and fix it properly...nothing. I didnt even get a chance to bring up all the other issues Id noticed once Id fixed the landscape lighting myself and at my own additional expense. Completely unprofessional, and completely opposite of their name. And now Im left staring at a lawn every day that does nothing but remind me of how horribly wrong of a choice in landscapers I made. Originally posted Mar 2019; later edited once the weeds came in and I saw the full scope of what had not been done right.

Ray was responsive to my voicemails and came out to provide an estimate for requested landscape work in short order. He appeared to fully grasp the issues I was having and provided several ideas for how to remedy. We talked through options and settled on one and a quote was provided quickly. I believe the quote was accurate even though we ultimately chose to go a different route. Nice guy to do business with in my opinion.

We had a great experience with Done Right Landscaping. There are few companies out there- so look no further, these are the right guys for the job. Ray provided excellent communication when planning our project and completing our landscaping job. He and his team went above and beyond to make sure our landscaping was functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Great experience with Ray and his crew. Quick response with estimate. Initial time frame was 10-12 days. Asked if he could try and make happen by 4th of July. He did!! Less than 5 day turnaround. Also had an issue with pooling around our sidewalk so he had his guys put in a drain to help out. Awesome service!!!

Ray responded extremely fast! Within the day, we set up time for him to see our backyard mess. Soon after he gave me a quote back and we discussed the options. He was so accommodating and went above and beyond to make this entire process effortless. The rain delayed the project slightly, but beginning of the week his crew was here and completed the job by the end of the day! Will definitely invest in another backyard project in the future. This is a retaining wall that Done Right Landscaping did for me and now after months and after several masonry guys have said it was built wrong, Ray wants more money to fix it. He says that the agreement does not have any warranty or guarantee. However, when it was built wrong, he should make it right. I will never recommend using Done Right Landscaping.

I am at Ft Benning and needed a lot of help with the yard at my house at Ft Sam. I found Done Right online and left a detailed message and they called back immediately. I described how overgrown the yard had become due to a negligent tenant. Done Right (Jacob and Ray) saved me in a pinch and provided the best customer service I have had in a long while. They visited the property and understood EXACTLY what I needed done and how quickly I needed the work finished. Done Right scheduled the job immediately, kept in constant contact with me via text and phone, took Before and After pictures and delivered what they promised: a job done right! I wish I had more projects for them and I wish they did more than landscaping because I would have them on speed dial! Highly Highly recommend!

The work is subpar at best. The crew did not dig deep enough or tuck the fabric in properly. This is causing the grass to grow through the rocks and weed barrier. I talked to the owner and he keeps blowing me off about a crew coming to fix it. It has been about 6 weeks since I brought it to Rays attention. I would recommend looking somewhere else for work. I gave him plenty of time but he is a shady character.

My wife and I are new to the Tx area and Done Right Lanscaping came recommended to us. A gentleman named Ray came out yesterday to give us a quote on leveling some ground for a above ground pool. He was on time, had a neat appearance, was very professional, and straight to the point. He also gave us some tips for some trees that we may want to add to our backyard for some added shade. Not reliable! I scheduled with the company for a simple estimate and they were a no show. No call or anything, just a no show which is very unprofessional especially after I took time off from work for this. First impressions are huge!!

Very very unprofessional - Someone came out to look at my property in January as I needed landscaping, drainage and sprinkler service - it is now May and I haven t received a phone call or any contact regarding ideas/layouts as they promised - DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!

Price is competitive, but the service is unbeatable. A little patience is required, as with any small business. But they will do it right or make it right. The most impressive thing to me about working with Ray was his customer service. Typically, I could call or text Ray and receive a reply or call back within the hour. Rays team was incredible--came when they promised, finished when they promised. GREAT service! I highly recommend Done Right Landscaping. They had to strip my front yard, bring in top soil, re-sod, buildup a retaining wall, plant shrubs and then used river rock and mulch to finish it out. It looks great!
