I was trying to get an estimate, and stated exactly what I needed. The website was not transparent with prices or estimates, so I had to take a call. The representative did not know what foxtails are and spoke over me the whole time I was outlining the issues with my lawn. She then proceeded to ask what my name was, since Al MUST be my husband's name, which added sexism to the unprofessionalism for the entire call. Not worth the time wasted for a quote. Can only imagine how terrible the service would be.
Mike arrived on time and was so knowledgeable—doing this service for 21 years. He really was an expert. We walked through my yard and he knew what to do for each tree, rose bush and evergreen. He provided the fall plant and tree feeding along with chelated-iron. He was quick taking only 15-20 minutes for the treatment.
I’ve been using TruGreen for about ten years. Since my neighbors don’t do any weed control on their lawns, it’s always a challenge to keep the weeds under control in my yard. However TruGreen has always been responsive and done their best in difficult circumstances. Their technicians are also efficient, friendly, respectful and take the time to answer questions and offer advice.
i am updating my previous review to a one star. our lawn has never been completely green; doesn't grow much and recently Trugreen over seeded and there are lots of places where we do not have any new growth. When they aerated they left a huge muddy mess on our driveway and sidewalk and forgot to seed the yard ( its supposed to be done at the same time as aeration). We've tried for over a week to get a manager come out and look at the grass but we still don't have anyone scheduled to come take a look. My husband suspects we just are not getting enough fertilizer and also they did not put down enough seed. We've always had one of the best looking lawns in our neighborhood in previous homes. We mow our own yard, an automated sprinkler system and care for our plants and have a very nice landscape - however we would like a green yard with grass that Grows! Our grass just doesn't seem to grow much. People are friendly and nice but they just are not doing a good job on our grass. I will be cancelling
I paid upfront for 8 services which is a treatment every 4-6 weeks. I have received 3 services total so far. My lawn looks terrible. It’s brown, has bare spots and is full of all types of weeds which are taking over my grass. I will never prepay for another lawn care service again. My lawn has never looked so awful.
Not even a 1 star!!! My poor grass is so dead!! I’ve reached out to their customer service and they said it’s a sprinkler problem…which doesn’t make sense because it’s not along my sprinkler track, and you can even see the places where they missed. And my sprinklers work the same as before I hired this horrific company. Now they won’t even respond. I can’t believe they’re still in business! Shouldn’t they have to fix this?
First couple of services went just fine. The 5th service though, all hell broke loose. They missed two scheduled appointments, and then when the tech did arrive to finally service the lawn, they DESTROYED MY LAWN. I’m not just saying they killed a spot here or there, it’s as if a 4 year old tried to fertilize my lawn. You can see the pictures below of the damage that was done. The worst part of all of this though, is the unprofessional customer service system they have. Call a generic call center around the country to then be told the area manager will call you in 48 hrs? When Mike, the area manager did call, he called at 7:00am!!! Who calls that early? Since I didn’t answer, I have yet to get in contact with him. I’ve called him back multiple times, left messages, even text him. Since he had his read receipts on, I saw that he read my messages but was dodging me… need to have my lawn fixed because I have a family backyard social in a week and a half…
The employees are nice, which is where the positive ends. I used TruGreen years ago but stopped because of their inability to prevent crabgrass and stop weeds. After a couple of years I gave up and had to DIG out a bunch of patches. Got things looking good again, then schedules got rough so I went looking for someone to fertilize on a regular schedule. The neighbor recommended company had a full schedule, and other options were not looking so great. I decided to give TruGreen another shot. They started treating my lawn once again at the beginning of the 2017 season. By mid-summer I had crab grass and weeds - not happy. With limited exception, when I called to get a re-treatment I would be told something like 'your regular treatment is coming up in a couple of weeks so we will take care of it then,' despite my insistence that we had a problem. I paid them though the year, never being satisfied. This year I got a text saying my first treatment was scheduled. I called them and told them forget it. They gave me the we will get it right thing, and offered a free treatment. I told them I had serious doubts, but they insisted they would not charge and if I had any problems to call back in 10 days. Guess what - WEEDS all over the place a week after they treated. I call back and say I am done, they say they will come back out and fix it. I tell them with a decent amount of detail what the issues are - Clover in the park strip, crabgrass emerging near the end of the back yard, dandelion everywhere. Well, they came back out and were very prompt. 4 Days later, worse than after the first visit. Insane. All the photos are from 4 days after the second visit. Remember, this company treated my lawn for all of last year as well! If it were not for the people in the call center being nice, this would be a 1 star review.

10/24/24 Brinly did a great job!! She was so kind and respectful of our property. I really appreciate that she shut and locked the gate so I didn t have to worry about our dogs. Thank you so much!! Eduardo did an excellent job. Answered all our questions and gave us information that we forgot to ask. Thank you for being so respectful and considerate by locking the gate when you left.
Brinley did the fertilizing today 10-28-2024 at my home. She did a FAR better and more thorough job than the guy who spent a grand total of 2 minutes doing any work at my property on 10-23-2024

They came to my house today while I was at work, which is fine, however upon leaving my back yard, Thomas, as stated on the receipt, left my back gate open. I have a dog and when my daughter let her outside after school, she didnt notice the gate open. Luckily my dog didnt notice the gate open either. Glad I have security cameras.
Randy checked to make sure if we had any questions and explained what he was going to do.
Randy came over and asked if I had any concerns. I dont know about anything about lawn care, that was my dads job and since he is no longer with me and my mom I just wanted to make sure his lawn is taken care of. Randy is professional and straight to the point in asking if I need explaining about anything.

Scheduling sucks, doesnt let you schedule when youre available, expects you to be home when they come. They say they can do the service without us here and they have done it, but in order to do it they need to get in the backyard which is locked unless we know theyre coming and have time to open it. Their pest control keeps missing the wasp nests under our deck. We cancelled our service and they came out for a free service since the wasps werent taken care of at the last service. The agent on live-chat told me that it only takes 1 service to spray and knock them down. After he left, I looked and found 7-8 nests, as well as noticing some were gone that were previously there. I live chatted again to complain, and she said they spray on one service and come back for a 2nd service to knock down. Which is the opposite of what the previous agent said!!! And the tech said nothing about coming back, i dont think its scheduled. Very unhappy with the service!!!
Terrible terrible customer service. Good luck cancelling. The rep on the phone couldn t locate my account, even after giving my name, number and address of service. She then hung up on me and never returned my call. My lawn looks terrible. Full of weeds and dead spots.
I have used Trugreen now for 4 years they have eliminated the weeds and crabgrass in my lawn its the best looking lawn in my area with zero effort from me. The service is well worth the cost

I would give negative stars if I could. My husband and I did an online quote and were very interested in getting services. Him and I needed to discuss before making a decision to hire them for service. Within 24 hours they had already bombarded me with texts, emails, phone calls, and voicemails. I still hadnt had a chance to talk to my husband. The next day they called me 5 times before noon from 1 number. I answered kindly told him that i was no longer interested in his services since they couldnt leave me alone and hung up. He immediately called me back AFTER I HUNG UP. Blocked the number (had already blocked the original number that called me). Then today I get yet another call from a different number stating they were given my name and number to call from their employee. I was seriously considering hiring this company until they continued to harass me to no end! This company is a joke thinking they can harass people into getting their services!
I signed up for the service on one of my rental properties. I wanted to be there for the first spraying. The tech never showed up and I got a text saying he did. 30 minutes later I get a text saying I have been billed and he is leaving. Untrustworthy I cancelled right away. Imagine how many people are at work and think their grass is getting done to find out the tech never showed up and they were billed. If you sign up make sure they are treating your yard if you are not at home when they do it.

Jared did a very thorough job for our monthly pest control. This was our first application of a year subscription. He explained everything he was doing and even took a look at our dry grass. He found some hornet nests and took care of those too. He sprayed all the second story window sills (for the annoying little seed bugs) and wiped down all the outside window frames and window wells. I did request that he is the one who comes back next month.

I would give a zero if I could. They misrepresent their abilities, they dont call back. They have no concern for others time and they just make excuses. Go with literally ANY other company than them. We had little black bugs taking over 2 trees in out backyard and spreading to our garden. Since the re-treatment most of them are gone. There was a noticeable difference within a couple days. Thank you TruGreen for coming quick and taking care of the problem.

I would like to give them -2 stars but there is no option for this. I ordered tree and shrub fertilization, they showed up knocked on the door wandered around my yard without doing anything and then sent me a work order for horticultural oil application (something I didnt order). There was nothing else on the work order but the person on the phone told me they did fertilize my trees, they just cant put more than one thing on the work order. While still on the phone she sent me a new work order with both items on it. I told her I wouldnt pay for the horticultural oil application because that was not something I asked for, she replied with it comes with the fertilization and its only $36 more. I had to explain to her that comes with means part of not in addition. She had a hard time wrapping her head around that. Needless to say I was not impressed with their service or their phone service so I told her to charge me for the fertilization and cancel all of my other services moving forward. After getting off the phone with her I checked all my camera footage and the only thing their employee applied to my yard was a TruGreen sign. She knocked on the door then walked to one gate then the other (empty handed), got back in her truck and left. I would bet they get paid by how many work orders they fill in a day. I called to let them know that I wouldnt be paying for anything and I would like them to remove my card information from their records and all I got was a runaround from the lady. She repeatedly tried to get me to let them send a new tech out and continue using them. I had to get downright rude to get her to stop. She then told me I had to go online to remove my card so I tried. The system wouldnt let me remove my card without adding another. She told me that I needed to keep trying so I did and nothing. She told me to try back later. Like I have time to keep playing with this. I still have not been able to remove my card. If you call them, good luck

What a horrible experience. Avoid this company at all costs!! I was a new client and promised results with my yard. I have more dandelions and weeds than anyone on my block. I phoned in and spoke with customer service (Cheyenne) and was treated rudely when I complained. I was told my original application didnt include anything to take care of dandelions and that Ill be charged for another application. BAD PRODUCT AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. TruGreen has been servicing my lawn for over 3 years. I couldnt be happier with the results. My lawn was HORRIBLE before they started and would be dead before the snow fell. Now it is green and lush.

I have asked so many times to be removed from their calling list and they just keep calling me and keep calling me and every time they call I ask them to remove me from their calling list and they keep calling and calling. So rude.
When we started using them they promised no exta payments 1 set price every month. Next thing we know they are billing us over $500 for 1 service that we NEVER said okay to. We tried calling for months to discuss the bill never got an answer then 6 months later they charged our card twice for $500 each time and we reported the charge and they said they cant change anything. Ive never been so mad. Went for $100 a month to $500. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone ever!
Called for a quote. Went with someone else. Now they call me like 5 times a day from different numbers. Ive told them many times I am not interested but they just keep pushing a hard sale. Not even worth considering... If you have a good product and service you dont need to employ these tactics.

I can t tell you how strongly I don t recommend this company. We got brand new sod, two years ago and hired this company to take care of our grass from the get-go. We just wanted professionals who we could pay to take care of our grass and all we would have to do is water and mow it. The communication within their organization is terrible. The person scheduling services would have completely different information than the people coming to service the lawn. Now our front yard is completely dead apparently from grubs (some thing that they told us wasn t the problem and so they didn t treat for it.) Best they could do for us they said was a free aeration and seeding, this is after we have spent $1295 with them in the past two years. My advice, find a local company that will take good care of you. This ain t it.
Dont call them to ask a question about their services unless you want different Trugreen sales reps calling and texting you multiple times a day for the rest of your life, no matter how many times you tell them to stop.
I keep coming back. Years ago they restored a completely weed infested spot lawn for me. Then I got dazzled into a local company for cheaper and was disappointed. Over and over true green produces what I want. I won t switch again.

Asked for seeding and aeration back in the spring when it was being done. Was promised that it would happen. After a couple of mosquito control and fertilizer I was given the runaround that they would no be coming until August. The final straw for me was when the tech came to my home to fertilize and decided not to because he didnt think it was right to fertilize dirt and weeds. He called his boss up and was told to fertilize it anyway. If I could give negative zeros I would.

Most of the Technicians dont care about the quality of their work making minimal effort to completely service the whole yard! They make 1 pass and consider it done. I spend more time on hold with customer service than the technician does on my 3/4 acre yard!

These guys DO NOT know the meaning of SERVICE....they are worse than Comcast! Go figure! They have blown be off for my scheduled service 3 times. I have a party this evening at 4, you cannot be on the lawn until 2 hours AFTER application (told them that yesterday when they scheduled my service between 7am-11am) They can tell you I can understand maam I can certainly understand I know youre paying with your hard earned money LOOK WHAT WE HAVE HERE A BUNCH OF EXCUSES AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT THEY ARE! The representative even verified that my notes said they would be here between 7am - 11am today! They cant even transfer you to a supervisor! All they say is that they can certainly understand. This is an absolute joke! I asked the representative how quickly they could cancel my service! Guess what? He said, oh that would take no time at all! If I dont see a representative at my home today between now 8am -11am, thats exactly what I will be doing. Canceling my service.

He checked brown areas of the lawn for grubs and indeed found it and showed me a grub. Explained the process, treated for grubs, fertilized and treated for weeds. Very satisfied with the service today.
Jos de Jessa came to the door to see if I had questions. He was very polite and respectful. He got the job done quickly and well. He is working hard to bring my lawn back to a weedfree state.
Signed up for their service because it sounded like a great deal. Waited a week for them to come out to my house. The day of their appointment no one showed up despite all their texts and maps showing where the tech was. I called them and told the wonderful customer service that they did not show up She told me it would be another week before they could come out again and my card was charged for a service they claim they did. (Edit) A few days after their scheduled service and this review I got a call from Sandy asking some questions about the interaction I had with them. She was kind and friendly on the phone and it seemed that she did care about me as a customer and tried to remedy the situation. However the customer service that you call with the number on their website could be greatly improved. Overall I think they are a company with genuinely good people working for them. I was on the fence about paying someone to do my fertilizer and weed control after trying to work with TruGreen I will continue to do it myself as it is simpler and I am in total control of when it gets done.

I have been a loyal customer of Trugreen/chemlawn for over 10 years. After last year, I nearly cancelled my service. However I decided to try one more year because of the many issues our country has gone through. The first two treatments had my yard looking great. Waiting for the third treatment, my lawn was completely overtaken by weeds of all kinds. I may have lost my lawn. I will wait to see what yesterdays treatment accomplishes before I replant my lawn. I do not blame the service techs as they seldom are the same each visit.

BEWARE! Terrible experience! Services were never provided and I was charged, given a fake report from a techinician that said they came to my property and spoke to me and I told them to come back another time on a day I wasnt even home. Multiple attempts to schedule services that never happened and trying to cancel and get a refund for services never recieved was a nighmare. Let the buyer beware definately applies when dealing with this company.

I originally scored them a 5 but after reading the PDF summary I would like it changed to a 2. In the comments section they wrote I knocked on your door but no one was at home. Strange because I walked out to them from my house to ask about all the weeds in my yard as I have never had any before.

I signed up for Trugreen in 2022, I paid for the entire year of service upfront. They repeatedly marked the services as being completed, without having done the service. I would have to call and have it rescheduled and make sure they completed the service when I was home. I canceled at the end of 2022, after they had not completed the last service of the season But marked that they had. I called customer support and I was told that they would refund that last service which never happened. Then in 2023 they show up to do an aeration and over seeding of our lawn, after having canceled the year prior and try to charge me $230 for the service that they didn t perform again because I told them I had already canceled the service and they need to leave. I ve had to call customer support again, tell them the service wasn t completed, even though they marked it as completed, and have them put a zero balance on that bill. Since then, I ve been struggling to even get a refund for the service that was prepaid for but was never completed from the year prior. This is why I canceled them, they are shady, they will try to charge you even though the service was not performed, and they make it so difficult to make anything right. But then they continue to call and ask why I canceled and how they can earn my business back. There are a lot of other great options for your lawn care, companies that are local, companies that show up when they say they will, and perform what s expected of them without marking a job as complete and taking your money.

Avoid. You d be better off trying on your own, or find another more reputable company. I d recommend trying IFAs stuff (ask them at the store) or if you re desperate to get professional help like we are, try Ace s or Lawn Doctor. We got trugreen to try to improve and keep up with our yard. They missed scheduling the spring treatment, which many say is the most important, and we called to ask them what was going on before we were almost out of a good window. They scheduled two weeks out, and then cancelled it when the day came. My yard is now partially overtaken by unhealthy pasture grass that probably wouldn t have been as successful if it were properly taken care of. Note that this grass can t be removed by weed treatment, anything that will work on it will also hurt my grass. You can t talk to the local office, you talk to some national location. What a pain.

Do not use this company. Years ago they were excellent. For the past several years their product effectiveness has dropped as well as the interest of the service technicians to perform a thorough job. I have had to have them consistently reapply their product because the dandelions keep resurfacing. The product used to work but now the weeds flinch & bounce back within a couple days. Last season was the worst, they used a granular product that didnt do anything. I insisted on the spray, they used to have a hose from the truck but just a technician with a backpack sprayer. I pay extra because our yard is huge and a guy running around with a backpack sprayer just doesnt cut it. Dandelions and thistle all summer long. I called to have our trees treated because of beetles and they never followed up. I asked them to reapply and they never showed up, asked for a refund, they said it was not allowed but they issued a credit to my account. They skipped multiple scheduled services. Naturally they called all the time to offer multiple services like mosquito spraying, lawn aeration, and other things but couldnt do the job they were hired to do. The sales calls are relentless, I expressed that I did not want to renew, explained my bad experience, and requested my money be refunded for the entire season because the product did not work and the weeds spread. It wasnt that much money because out of the 5 spring & summer months they didnt show up for two so thats 40% no show. I eventually spoke with a Manager named Mike, he looked at my account and could see the issues, requests for reapplication, the technicians that didnt show up for scheduled services. None of the other reps could approve a refund but a manager could. Mike is a manager, he agreed the service was bad and promised a refund. The refund never happened, but the sales calls kept coming. Spent and hour with a very enthusiastic sales person, that got a manager on the phone, they knew the manager Mike and promised if I prepaid for this coming year they could look into a discount. Really?! I explained how the product doesnt work, their managers lie, they stole my money and wouldnt return it even when promised. I used this company at my Salt Lake home and at my Park City home. If this sounds like the experience youre looking for then TrueGreen is the company for you. I found a great company for my salt lake home, Major League Lawn Care. For my Park City property, Senske Services for my lawn and trees, much more expensive but worth it. I hope this helps!

Worst company ever! I wish I could give zero stars. They are dishonest and super shady. I used Trugreen for several years, decided to switch last year after their service in all aspects had declined. I canceled my account in March, and out of nowhere in August when I was on vacation, they came out and performed services without my consent or knowledge. I disputed the charges and was told they would be removed. They weren t. I can t tell you the number of times I spoke to them and then they sent it to collections! I disputed it with collections, and the dispute was denied because they have record of the services performed. I called TruGreen seven times within two weeks. Each time being told only a manager could remove the charges and they would put a ticket in for them to call me. I NEVER heard from a manager. I called and demanded to speak to the manager and was told there was no way for them to transfer me. Huh?? What kind of company doesn t allow you to speak to a manager? It became clear that this was their way of never resolving anything. I voiced this to the agent as well as the entirety of the issue. The agent I spoke to at this time was very kind and actually wanted to help and resolve it. She ended up taking the charges off and said that it absolutely did not have to go through a manager. She also said all the notes for my account were hidden and she had to dig to find anything. I started disputing and trying to resolve this in September 2021. Finally April 2022, 7 months later, it has been resolved. Such a joke! Don t believe anything they say to you! Go with a local company or do it yourself. Anything is better than having to use or deal with them on any level.
Trugreen killed and damaged our fruit trees
Came to my house to insult my lawn trying to get my business? No thanks. Not professional in the slightest and I am not interested in pushy, rude sales tactics. Showing at my home during business hours, interrupting a work call, and then insulting my lawns color (early April, it is still recovering from winter) and claiming I needed mosquito removal (again, in April?) is just tacky. Plus, 3 houses across the street from me use TruGreen and their lawns are dead by June every year.

TruGreen sales tactics are harassment. Once they have your phone number they wont leave you alone, even when you say you are not interested. The biggest red flag is there isnt a way to simply opt-out of their communications, they call and text from different phone numbers. It screams unethical marketing/sales and makes for a bad consumer experience.

Hands down the worst lawn care company in Utah. Their employees absolutely dont care about the work they do and just want to get through it as quick as they can. Working with them was a nightmare for us. To kick things off, they mixed one of their solutions wrong and ended up killing almost all of the grass in our backyard (see picture). After this, they were willing to put down sod but did a super sloppy job, our backyard which had previously been beautiful and flat was now bumpy and had crabgrass because they used cheap sod. We also once watched them on our security cameras as they came to do a lawn treatment. They didnt know we were home or watching them so they came and literally spent 2-3 minutes spraying a small area of our lawn and then left. They documented on their form that they had covered every square foot of our backyard. We sent the security footage to the company and they were of course apologetic. Bottom line, poor quality work with apathetic workers. We wasted hundreds of dollars on their service and the end result was our yard looked much, much worse.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! The damage to your landscaping is not worth the weed control. We have beautiful 30-year old vines covering our chain link fence which TruGreen KILLED. Where TruGreen sprayed, our vines are fried and are dying from the bottom up. Where TruGreen DIDNT spray and vines werent next to the grass, our vines are fine. Sloppy and unprofessional work with dangerous chemicals. On top of that they have HORRIBLE customer service. We called to attempt to talk to a local manager about this issue and it has been 18 days and we have yet to talk to anyone local. Good luck getting past the call center folks.

Not impressed. I set up services with a sales rep and was told I would receive a 50% off discount for my first service totaling $35. The first visit out the technician showed up and sat in his car for 10 mins before starting which is fine I guess but once he started he simply used a hand held fertilizer applicator and barely covered any of my lawn. He spent a total of about 4 mins and left all of which I watched on video. I was told and requested that they spray otherwise I would just have done it myself. I received my first charge for the service a few days later and it was over $100. I made multiple attempts to contact customer support and was hung up on 4 times before actually speaking with someone. They offered to come back out and do it again and I declined. They said they would refund $70 of the total bill so we shall see! Save yourself the headache and use another company!
I DO NOT have a contract and have never had a contract with TrueGreen. But yesterday (07-20-2022) while I was away from home truegreen sprayed my yard. Not knowing what they had sprayed I called the number on the information they left on my house to find out what they sprayed. I was told they would refer my concern to management and they would call me back in 24 to 48 hours. I was concerned because I have a small dog and was concerned about his well being. It has now been about 30 hours and still no word from truegreen management. Based on this type of customer service I would recommend not to ever use this company.

The worst customer service experience Ive had in a long time. I received a call today about about my account. The customer service representative was inept and incompetent at best. She was passive aggressively rude and would not tell me the total owed until she had my card number and processed it. Then when adding up the amounts to ensure the total was correct, the customer service person kept forgetting and missing charges, and adding others into it, including a service I cancelled over a year ago. On top of all that you should see all the weeds in my yard. Would not recommend. Canceled my service today.

Weve used them before and had great results but this year its not been good. Its been over 2 months since anyone was out to do a treatment. I called (my back lawn looks terrible) and discussed it with them and was given no reason, just that someone would be out this week. :-( Not impressed. Well use someone else next year.

I signed up with Truegreen this year and had a nightmare experience from start to finish. The customer service was horrible, response time and follow through were lacking. None of my concerns were ever taken seriously or even addressed. At the end of the summer season, after 7 treatments, my lawn looks worse then when it started. Half has been killed off due to weed overgrowth. None of the treatments are applicable and specific to my yard and more often than not, large portions of the yard were skipped entirely. My grass is dead, covered in weeds, and in worse condition then its been in several years. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Stay as far away from these frauds as possible! They scam their clients and have 0 resolution. They don t show up and then send you a bill for services that never happened. If they do show up they don t apply anything and then mark that they came. When you try to resolve the issue you end up in a call center in the Philippines that are no help. True green is dishonest. They will screw you over and flip you the bill for services never rendered. DO NOT WORK with Trugreen for ANYTHING!

We signed up last year because we were in a 5-year battle with lawn grubs, and we were losing. This was my first experience with a lawn car company. The ONLY thing I needed was grub control. They said they I would have to pair it with regular lawn service and I couldnt say no to a greener lawn. So we signed up. The first grub application was in May (too late?). By July the grubs were back at it. I called trugreen and they said they would add another grub treatment on our next service. I never saw another grub application on any of our consecutive bills. By August I started applying my own grub treatment and started to see some improvement, but by then the grubs had spread from a basketball size spot to an area the size of two large picnic tables like the metal ones you see at the park. I called trugreen a couple of times and both times was told a local manger would call me. Turns out that trugreen is a huge company and has territory managers to deal with the local customer base. I waited and never got a call from any manager. On trugreens second to last application of the year the tech advised that we reseed the bare area cause by the grubs, and that trugreen would be happy to provide the reseeding service... What a joke. And for the next couple of weeks my phone was bombarded with sales calls about reseeding and fertilizing the dead area of grass. I wonder where this attention was while my grass was being devoured by grubs? So, this spring rolls around and I get a scheduling call from trugreen and I gave them my sob story to which the phone person quickly replied Id be happy to give you a discount and ensure you this year well have your grubs under control. Its hard to turn down a discount, so I agreed. My first service was scheduled for late March. Late March came and went. It was still snowy so I didnt think much of it. Then in early April I started seeing trugreen trucks everywhere and called to see when I was scheduled. Again, I was given a date that came and went. I finally called a local competitor- Big League Lawns. I dont like baseball, so the branding didnt appeal to me but they seemed super on top of things when I called their local office. They didnt offer any sort of promotion but ensured that my grubs would be handled this year, guaranteed. My trugreen treatment was scheduled before big league lawns was scheduled so I decided to paly a little game... Would trugreen actually show up this time (their 4th scheduled visit without actually making it) or would big league make it to their planned appointment and beat them? Guess what happened... Another trugreen no-show and big league showed up as promised, provided great service, and left us with some great information for in-between our services. I also received a phone reminded and a text reminder the day before big league showed up. I have yet to receive any notification from trugreen about an up coming visit or their subsequent cancelation and rescheduling. Anyway, weve moved on from truegreen for... greener pastures. I would have left 1 star, but my front lawn looked great all year. Minimal weeds, very green and grew vigorously all summer. So, there was that. Trugreens strategy is volume. Get as many new people in the pipe by leveraging disocunts and promotions. Show up and do the applications which will inevitably leave a healthier looking lawn. But the minute things get more complicated than that, their lack of customer service and genuine care for keeping you as a customer will show and they just keep slashing their prices to keep you instead of actually providing the proper service, which coincidentally is called Customer Service. Then trugreen responds to this review with a generic reply inviting me to email them. Ya, Ive tried that too only to get more sales calls and offers to lower the price of my service. See where this is going? Anyway, good luck out there!
Horrible!!!!!! I was given a price for my first service that was supposed to be $29.95 and after that it would go to $69 per month... called and said I needed my service date pushed back but they still came out and did it and charged me $200. Then when I called to get the situation figured out, I was on hold for 3 hours. Finally was able to get in touch with SOMEONE and she was very rude and disrespectful! 10 out of 10 I do not recommend using TruGreen.

We contracted for TruGreen to do lawn fertilizer and weed control for our yard. They came twice, but have not returned since October of last year. I have called and emailed them repeatedly and they promise to reschedule me but never do. They must be getting more clients than they can handle. In the meantime, the weeds in my new grass are taking over so I will need to fertilize and weed it myself. If you want to hire a service that forces you to do it yourself, hire TruGreen.

We will either return to taking care of the lawn ourselves or go to a small business that cares about their customers.
We contracted with them for 2021... they came 1 time and never returned. We called numerous times and finally got through... the gal said theyd come on Monday... Monday came and went. No one called, emailed or showed. Dont waste your money.

It s now July and I ve not received any of my prepaid visits. I m so dissatisfied with this company. I m ready to cancel and ask for my money to be refunded.

Ive never done an online review, but I had to with this because this was the Absolute worst experience and WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I prepaid for 6 treatments. They applied first treatment too soon and burned my lawn. Told they wouldnt apply 2nd treatment as scheduled because of lawn damage. Ended up applying it anyway without telling me first. Caused more damage. I was told I received a full refund after I requested it. A month later, NO REFUND. Contacted customer service again and waited a week before anyone responded to my refund request, only to be told to be patient and I can rest assured it was done, even though they were unable to provide me anything showing it was done, and then said if I dont see it within 5-7 days, just contact my bank. Would give them ZERO STARS if I could.

Unfortunately, TrueGreens service has declined significantly over the last year to the point where we needed to cancel the service. They started to miss the scheduled visits more often and were tough to get a hold of.

Don t believe their claims that contacting customer service will help fix anything. Multiple tries proved they do not honor their promises. I have wasted many hours trying to get them to fix things. They have ruined our lawn and turned it into an eyesore with their badly blended applications. We prepaid for the full season. They came out in mid-March and did a shoddy application that neither greened the grass nor took care of weeds. They have disappeared ever since then, despite calls, emails, complaints, and their promises to come back out. Now it is June. Meantime our nice yard has turned into a shambles with brown spots despite our consistent watering, and big weeds are everywhere. All their reassurances to return and do their job have become broken promises. Update: It is late July and they only came twice since March, despite my repeated requests that they come again but this time do it right. Our lawn remains awful.
TruGreen this year has been a big big I mean huge disappointment! I have not used them for a few years and I went to go back because I thought my lawn could use a little fertilization and apparently its backfired on me I have more morning Glory than ever before and I also have a serious attack of goat heads. They have been unresponsive telling me theyre coming back out and doing a reshoot and then they tell me no thats part of my service and this is my third series and I demanded that a supervisor call me and I have not gotten nothing, no calls no redo. Im not happy at all very disappointed because of their reputation you think that they would be Johnny on the spot taking care of my needs but no.
The other day my neighbor said, wow your lawn is looking really bad! You need to get a service out here quick! I then told him, I had a service come at the beginning of the summer. The service I paid for is why my yard looks worse than ever. We both agreed that it had never looked like this before. I truly felt that they sprayed weeds and dandelions onto my yard it was that bad!

Avoid at all costs. We signed up to have someone come maintain weeds, fertilize, and tell us what species of grass we have. The day of the appointment came, and the rep just spayed weed killer and left. No communication, no fertilizing treatment, nothing. We called, they promised to make it right. The next appointment was scheduled, but the rep skipped the appointment because the road was closed. It was not. We called to cancel. They offered to make it right but we politely declined. The next week, we get a notification that our appointment has been scheduled. We call and reiterate that we have cancelled and do not want any further appointments scheduled. THE VERY NEXT DAY we get another notification stating that our appointment has been scheduled AGAIN. They will make every attempt to charge you for bare minimum services even if you try to cancel. Do not give them your card information. This is not a reputable company.
There appears to be a complete disconnect between the capabilities (manpower) of this local office and what the coorporate office advertise. I signed up and prepaid $1,560.00 for one year of weed control and fertilization at the beginning of June, tomorrow will be September and I have been unable to get a single application applied to my lawn all summer long even after caling them 4 times in July and August. I suspect the local office is completely overworked and unable to take on any new customers or simply dont have any service technicians. But when you call to sign up they will not let you know that and will be more than happy to take your payment and not render any services leading you to endless hours of hold time when you try to get a refund because they are currently experiencing higher than normal call volumes Perhaps if they had more boots on the ground and less desk jockies responding to online critism of dismal service they could get the job done. I suppose the old addage If you want something done right you have to do it yourself holds true.
Very disappointed with the service I got ! Paid for whole season and got skipped one month, nobody contacted me to let me know they were not going to show up and my sessions were constantly delayed. Finally I cancelled my services and am waiting for my refund of the services left on my account. Im pretty sure I will have to take them to small claims!
After being 2 months overdue and the weeds in our yard looking like they were the grass, I did the weed control and fertilizer myself. I called 4 times. Each person told me they would take care of it. Nothing happened. I was able to email with a manager who assured me it would scheduled for that week. Once again nothing. I email her again. She apologized and assured me it would get scheduled. It did, no one came. We re now 4 months overdue and I asked for a complete refund. Of the six applications one maybe two were done but you certainly wouldn t know it by the look of the lawn. It has never looked this bad in 20 years
I signed up in March 2021. They did the first service and disappeared for 2 months, then in June they came and performed extra services than I signed up for and charged me double that month. They cancel and reschedule constantly, I was supposed to get aeration and overseeing this month. They pulled up 2 hours earlier than I was told, heard my dogs bark and left. No Knock on the door, no call to have the dogs pulled inside. They. Just. Left!!! I called to complain, they rescheduled but still charged me on the date they didn t complete it. Then today they were supposed to come again and cancelled again. Stating it was put in their system incorrectly. The soonest they would reschedule was 3-7 date away. They have already charged me for the service and continue to cancel, the service is supposed to be charged the day it is completed. They give me the runaround on the phone and never fix the issue. I have been hung on multiple times. This company is overpriced and terrible! DO NOT USE THEM!!

We are canceling our care service with TruGreen! We have had more weeds than ever this summer, and TruGreens services didnt even touch what we had. We used to have weed service through Edge and were so pleased with them but were transferred over when TruGreen bought them out. We were planning on canceling with them regardless because of the poor quality of service, but we just got a letter in the mail saying they sent us to collections for missing a payment. We were scheduled for autopay! They said it was for an add on that didnt go through our autopay for our monthly services, and instead of letting us know about the additional charge, they sent us to collections! I would never recommend this company to anyone!!

Bottom Line TruGreen are crooks. I had their lawn service for a season and it didnt do much good or bad, so we cancelled and tried someone else, which has been amazing for cheaper. But TruGreen showed up and treated AND CHARGED anyway. It was the day after our new service and it didnt burn anywhere from overtreatment so maybe theyre just spraying water, LOL. So we cancelled again, they refused to give a refund. We had prepaid for 3 tree and shrub treatments (also a racket, but anyway) so when we cancelled, the 2nd time, TruGreen said you have 1 tree service left do you want them to come do that. I said, yes, I prepaid for that, so come do it, and then we can be done. They did, and then came again 1.5months later without notice and charged me for two tree services for the one visit. I called and they said, we should have known that all their programs are auto-renewing even the ones you prepay, also because they sent a text reminding us of the appointment, (we do not have that text) they can only refund us half, because they did 2 treatments in one visit and the elusive text only reminded us of 1. They said they cancelled all our services now, but time will tell.
When you see baby chicks in a pen on the grass in the middle of the lawn KNOCK ON THE DOOR AND TALK TO SOMEONE BEFORE YOU SPRAY CHEMICALS. This was laziness at its most ridiculous level.
They are shady people they tell you one price and then charge you a different price. Even confirmed in email what would be charged and then still made off with an extra 100. Other lawn places that are better and more upfront keep searching don t stop with this company
When I signed up with them, they treated me fairly and the product was fine. However, make sure you understand that they will keep billing you unless you call and cancel. I was under the impression that since I had pre-paid a whole year in advance, that that was all I had agreed to. I had no idea they were continuing to treat my lawn (rental place hence I didnt know) in the new year. Luckily I picked up a call from them and avoided going to collections. Somehow the lady I spoke to thinks that TRUEGREEN is a service like your Power or Water bill and that they will continue to charge you unless you cancel.
Im not a customer and they sprayed my yard without my permission. The added fertilizer burned/killed my grass and killed the clover I seeded into my lawn. I do not use chemicals like this in my yard and they couldnt tell me where / what they sprayed. Ive been waiting for a supposed call back from management for two months. Irresponsible business.
Always keeps my lawn looking awesome and now Ive moved into a new house and I am continuing with using them. Highly recommend this company for those looking into these services. We also got aerating done.
I thought they would help me get my back yard seeded and keep my front yard weed free. Essentially I paid for the inconvenience of calling them. Every visit required me to call them back out to do my back yard. I had one good service in the 4-5 months we used them. My yard is still full of weeds despite their weed killer. Not once was I confident that the individual in my yard actually cared about grass or their job. Their app is slow and most of the time requires you to call anyway, no one answers at the local office you always get the national call center. After a summer of headaches and failures what I thought would be a good way to keep my years green and weed free was simply a waste of time and money.
Used this service for a year and they did do a good job getting our lawn back into shape. Got a call from John who wanted to offer us a deal to sign for another year. Told John I would have husband call him. Husband didnt call because life happened. John called me today and said well why didnt your husband call me in a very impatient and rude tone. Because of how pushy he was, I will not EVER use this company again. I dont like being treated like a child who didnt get their homework on time from someone who is asking for over $500 from me. Will go somewhere that values their customers and doesnt pressure or push.
I would never use this company. Very poor customer service and rude as can be. I sent them notification on their web site to cancel my service because they never would give enough notice before coming and my lawn looked worse than all my neighbors. They still showed up and performed a service. (10 minutes from arrival to departure) Now they insist i pay for the service because they didnt see my post i sent to them on their web site before their guy came out to my house. I was using Scotts for several years and had no complaints until these guys took over.

First year 2017 they did a great job, lawn looked good. So in 2018 we decided to add tree and shrub service in addition to lawn. They did an awful job, killed patches of lawn especially around one of the trees. Then they fertilized twice in a ten day period because of a paperwork error but told me it wouldnt hurt anything. Then the lawn started dying in patches from being burnt by excessive fertilizer. Long story short, a guy came and looked at it but nobody at Trugreen would take responsibility. . When we cancelled our service, we told them it was because they killed our lawn and they said sorry and didnt offer to remedy anything. We are not only disappointed but out quite a bit of money and worse off than when we started. Use them at your own risk.

Over the last two weeks ive spoken with 3 phone representatives and two associates that have knocked on my door. I asked to hold my service as Im in the middle of moving. Each have politely told me they would handle it and yet today I am being told that someone will be out to the lot. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that it takes 24-48 hours due to zero leaders being available. I will be cancelling my service and seeking a full refund
Holy smokes these guys are idiots. Im on my fourth time trying to get an email confirmation with payment and account info. The Irony that the department that they send you to that fixes your email cant actually send you the email. They email someone who is supposed to email you! they keep telling me to schedule service using the app..which I cant log into without my email confirmation! Absolutely a joke. UPDATE: Just had to call again. Still not fixed. They just dont care. Amazing to me how little pride people take in their work...at least at this company. Do yourself a favor. There are many independent places to go where people actually care about the customers. TruGreen does not.
Wish I could give 0 stars. Horrible customer service. Awful scheduling system. They are constantly moving my appointments without notifying me and cant tell me when the technicians will be there until a few hours before? Absolutely terrible communication for mediocre service. Go with anyone else.
Very reliable and our lawn looks great! Its nice that we dont have the hassle of doing it ourselves. We are seniors and it is very convenient for us.
I love having trugreen come out this has saved me a lot of time and money my grass is greener and thicker since they have been coming and now I have them helping with my trees I was spending the same amount of money on the trees and still have problems with them now they look a lot better
Ive used lawn companies for 20+ years. My lawn was not greening up and not growing. It took three calls and 2 weeks to get them to come re-apply fertiizer and when the showed up, they only put on broadleaf weed killer. I then called 2 more times to see if they woudnt come back and fertilize, which is what Id complained about on the first call. On 2 of the most recent calls, I asked for a supervisor to call me back and they said Id get a call from a supervisor whod meet me at my home to discuss problems. No calls from the supervisor. So 4 calls asking for a fertilizer re-treatment and no re-treatment and no word from a supervisor. I ended up buying my own fertilizer and doing the yard over the weekend. I called today and cancelled the service and the best thing I can say about TruGreen is they made cancellation and getting a refund on pre-paid stuff quite easy. Dont hire these guys. If things dont go well, the left hand doesnt know that the right hand is doing. Theyre way messed up!

My experience with this company has been a nightmare. When I signed up (for 6 treatment package) I requested that my front lawn not be treated because I am working to kill the grass and xeriscape. However each of the 3 providers they sent out each had no idea about this, despite FOUR separate lengthy conversations about it with both the customer service department and the in-person providers. Each apologized for the lack of communication and promised it would be rectified. And each subsequent provider had no knowledge of this, and arrived attempting to treat the front yard yet again, til I ran outside to stop them. In my last phone conversation with them I asked whether it would be possible to just do the weed control in the front yard, and the fertilizer plus weed control in the backyard (since they clearly could not grasp that I wanted my front yard left alone) and they said yes. The third provider just arrived and said that this was incorrect, that they can only do both treatments simultaneously, or neither, and AGAIN had no idea they werent supposed to do the front yard. They then proceeded to spend literally 1 minute in my sizable backyard, then wrapped up the hose and left, while I watched out the window. In addition to this, after I signed up for the service I received at least 20 sales calls from TruGreen including SEVEN calls in just one day. I work nights and sleep during the day so didnt answer most of them. But twice I did, and they ignored my request to be taken off their call list, so I ended up having to actually block the phone number. When I called(yet again) to report all of this and cancel the service they would only refund a portion of my 450$ payment, despite only receiving a few treatments of my total package.

Nothing but issues. Do yourselves a favor and stay away. I have been a customer for far longer than I should have been. Lets start with issue no1. - TrueGreen tech sat in my driveway for 15 minutes and did not do the service(caught on camera). - Then left me with the bill. Truegreen took care of this mistake but did not do anything for the future to get the sour taste out of my mouth. Second, I asked for Saturdays only so I could be home and open up the gates so the techs do not get met with a little rottweiler. They said that is possible to only come on Saturdays and then for the next year did not show up on a single Saturday. I paid full price to only get half my lawn serviced because I can not leave the office and do not want to keep my dog in the house all day. I finally called see whats going on and they assured me Saturdays only moving forward. A week later - Wednesday Service Call again - Get the same story - Saturdays only 3 weeks later - Wednesday service call. I called to try and cancel - They promised again only Saturdays. That leads us to yesterday when I got the noticed that they did two services on a Wednesday on my lawn. I paid 84 dollars for half my lawn. I do NOT recommend them unless you want them to steal from you and say they did the service but did not do a single thing.
I made the mistake of calling TruGreen to get an estimate. Since then, I have been put on a robo call list and get two or three calls a day. Today I got a call from a local number, and my phone didnt screen it. I have never been so thoroughly harassed by any company that wasnt a debt collector--ever!
The technician is knowledgeable and competent and efficient and thorough. O didnt like how the sales person forced me into a long term subscription ir contract. I felt trapped.
I love TruGreen for making my yard the best in my neighborhood . My lawn is green and I do not have to water everyday to keep it green. TruGreen is doing what they promised in their ads. The price is so cheap considering what I have to do to keep it looking this great. Trugreen also gives you discounts when you sign up which brings the quote price lower. I have used other lawn care services but TruGreen is the best. If you want a great looking lawn with less fuss over your yard then choose TruGreen.
Shady, dishonest, and manipulative!!! Do not do business with them! Service was garbage so we canceled, but they still showed up and charged us for 6 months after! I had to attorney involved to get them to stop. Since then their sales reps have been harassing us to re-sign, even with a no solicitation sign on our door. This is illegal!!! Their reps are aggressive and dishonest. They always lie that your neighbors signed up when they didnt.
Sadly, the Trugreen service in the Provo area is abysmal. We used Trugreen in Colorado and they were wonderful. But in Utah, they cant seem to remember to actually come out and perform the service without me reminding them. Their sales department is constantly trying to up-sell new services -- even when existing services are not being performed properly. On a positive note, their finance department is very efficient in collecting money.

TruGreen was consistent and timely in their applications. However, the weeds that they guaranteed to get rid of (clover, thistle, and worst goatheads...and yes I was specific about them being a problem when I hired them) are still rampant in my yard after over a year of treatment. When I hired them, they promised they would have no problem getting rid of all of them in one year. I have been promised multiple times (at least 5) that someone will come out, that managers will call me and NOTHING. Now that Ive canceled my account because of my disgust and distrust, Im getting calls offering to give me a discount on my service. Despite stating over and over that Im not putting another penny into their service, Im being told that I have unreasonable expectations. Their guarantee, or word doesnt mean jack. I have zero faith in this company.
Im sure this company provides a great service, but I couldnt stand them long enough to even hire them. So take this with a grain of salt. I filled out their online form because I was looking for a quote for law care. Within the next two days I got eight calls from a 702 (Vegas) area code with no message left, so I assumed it was a telemarketer and never answered. Eventually I called them back to be put on the do not call list. A few weeks later, I got a call from their local office asking if anyone has reached out to me. Ill spare the details, but this gentleman was extremely accusatory and brash. I felt like I was being questioned in a criminal investigation. If I had wanted their services before, I definitely dont now. Smart alec, sarcastic remarks wont help me want to do business with you.
We hired TruGreen to take care of bugs and weeds in our lawn. On only the second appointment they only completed half of our yard and my motor cycle was knocked over in my driveway. After a month and a half of being put off and ignored by both local managers and then true greens claims company I was told they had found that true green was not at fault and would not cover the $3600 in damage done to the bike.
I was warned about using this company. Had numerous people tell me they would get charged for services not performed. I was hesitant but was given numerous promises and assurances. I was told I would be informed 2 -3 days ahead so I could keep the dogs inside and unlock access. First service I was given no notice. Therefore the back yard wasnt treated. I was told I would be called to schedule the aeration and seeding. Avian did not happen. Therefore once again service was not performed in the backyard. All these promises were made by John. He said if there were any issues he would personally take care of it. When I called him he denied making any of these promises. Says there is nothing he can do call customer service. DO NOT use this company. Specifically DO NOT deal with John.
Had the service kept seeing more and more weeds in my yard/ After call them so come out and respray several times . still had the weeds finally gave up.
UPDATE: True Green manager came out and has offered to fix the problem.Thanks for making things right true green This company is garbage. I paid well over $400 with a guarantee my grass would be greener thicker and fuller. Guess what. I still have dead patches. I still have weeds. I called because their moto is that they guratee their product or your money back.. they gave me 20 dollars back. Then had the nerve to try to sell me more product. Do yourself a favor and find another company youre basically eating 400 bucks. And having them sell you more product. UPDATE: they told me a manager would contact me in 24 hours.. its been a week. Still no phone call. Another uptade. I have called and asked for a manager 7 times now.. this company doesnt care about their customers at all
Not happy with the results at all! They did show up when they said they would and the applicators were nice, but terrible results! I Have been contacted by a representative several times now trying to sell me more services. I asked him to not call back, but he persists and he s very rude! Will never ever use Trugreen again!
They will straight up lie to you. They promised promotions (discounted rates and gift cards) and did not follow through. Before I signed up, I was told by multiple people that I would receive these promotions, and it did not happen.
This was such a terrible service. No matter what they did, our yard got worse and worse. By the end of the summer, it wasn t green, it was brown. We canceled and they kept showing up. They sent out a manager who made promises that weren t followed up on. We re probably going to have to lay down new sod in the backyard next year after having worked with this company. Stay away!
Months after cancelling our service and being told that we have a zero balance I get a notification from a collections agency stating that I have a payment due! A different manager each time I talk to someone?? No wonder they cant get it straight. Completely unacceptable! TruGreen will never win our service back! I wish there was less then a one star rating.
Terrible. My lawny stayed green all summer and I paid over $500 for a brown lawn.
They didnt show up twice, and when the guy finally came he sat in his truck for 20 minutes before he sprayed my lawn. Then, after the application we still had lots of weeds. We had Trugreen come a few years ago & they did a good job, but now it has gone completely down hill. They said they would give me a free application, just to keep me as a customer when I tried to cancel, but they never came. Im going with a different company.
Trugreen has been great! The service specialists are very knowledgeable and friendly. They are quick but spend time making sure the job is done right. My yard has needed help as when I moved in last year, it was in poor shape. Trugreen has helped me become proud of my lawn is just one year. I am looking forward to next year to see just how great my yard will become with using Trugreens professional services. The price is well worth the satisfaction I get from my neighbors asking me in envy how I got my yard to look so good in just one year. Thank you Trugreen and thank you to my local service specialists.
absolutely awful. Always promise to show up within 24-48 hours, and we never hear anything..... period ! complete no shows. They have cancelled on us at least 6 times, and weve only been a customer since June. TERRIBLE!!!!!
Can t post negative stars first mistake hiring them to get rid thistle second was paying up front. I have more thistle now than before and a yellow lawn. Have asked for a refund and all I get is excuses. Can t say anything good about them. Johan Karlen Park City
