The GT Landscaping team were able to give me prompt service and a great lawn for a reasonable price. They were efficient, professional and fast.

I called for a bid for a paver job for a backyard, Moises came out and looked at the site and said he would come back in two days with his concrete guy to better idea how the job will be done. Two days went by and no word, so I called Moises and left a message asking if he was coming out and if he wanted to do business. I got a call back and he said Brittany from the office should have called, she did not. Nor did she email me either. We set up a time to meet with him and the concrete guy. Both were late, one by 10 and the other by 15 minutes. One parked in a way to block my neighbor if he tried to get out, Moises asked him to move, he didnt. They looked at the backyard and held a conversation about the job in Spanish, which I dont speak, and Moises didnt interpret. They asked some questions, then left. I havent heard anything back, its been a few weeks.

Great work and amazing crew. GT handled a change order very quickly and Crew was able to change on the fly. Added a retaining wall that was higher then originally planned, added extra drain and landscaped the yard to fix drainage and sod. Great work!!

GT is the best of the best in the Mid Willamette valley! I can not say enough positive things. I got multiple quotes and GT was the most reasonable priced and was also the quickest to respond. Scott and Moises came out within three days and provided great insight and listened to my requests. Both were very professional and timely and responded to messages very quickly. It was apparent by the way they interacted with me, this company was great. They scheduled the job and had a crew working on the project within weeks. The work crew worked fast and completed a large excavation of my backyard, placed turf and placed a paver patio in a week. The whole process was impressive. DSL Builders LLC, Started using them in August 2021 - One year contract. Everything was good up until about two months ago. Crew comes weekly and was not performing according to contract. Contacted Libby Manning (our sales representative) several times and she/they were not willing to correct. She then terminated the contract and gave me 30 days notice. Guess she thought I was complaining too much. All I was expecting was for them to perform according to the contract. Not very professional, would not even call me to discuss. In addition, they tried to increase our prices 5-6 months before our one year contract was up, i.e., did not want to live up to their promised one-year commitment/contract pricing. Untrustworthy comes to mind. Replaced them with EarthTech Landscape Solutions and love them.

These guys are horrible! DO NOT USE!! They charged me $140 upfront to give me a bid on putting in a sprinkler system then added $70 for nothing. Its been 4 weeks and $210 later and I havent heard back from them at all. No sprinkler bid, nothing! Total Ripoff!

The whole crew did an excellent job! We had a man-made flood that washed out several retaining walls and other landscaping in our front yard. Libby came out to give the estimate and was very kind and professional. She was patient with us as we battled with home insurance to get cleared for repairs, and the work even got started earlier than anticipated. The construction crew worked very hard, even through the heat wave! At the end we discovered that leveling out the yard for new sod installation caused puddling on a low point of the walk way, but they quickly came back to install a drain which fixed the problem. We are very happy with the way the retaining walls and yard looks now! Thanks GT!

This company does maintenance on my apartment complex. I was growing pumpkins in a garden box on the property. They used high powered leaf blowers on the vines, completely destroying them, and bending them. I came down and asked them to stop, and when I went back upstairs, and she went back over to the vines and continued leaf blowing them, then even went over and crumpled them up with her hands! Id been growing those vines since Spring and now they are completely dead.

They dont stand behind their work or fix their mistakes, and they make a lot of mistakes. GT redid my back yard several years ago and I am still having issues. While the job was being done, the site manager was MIA most of the time, resulting in a lot of issues. It felt like every time I checked on the work, they were doing something wrong. When they did the initial job they installed a different kind of fruit tree, the rock wall was unstable, some of the irrigation was not working, the backflow test report was not provided for the city, the pond autofill leaked, my yard sloped toward my house instead of away, a cover to keep dirt out of my foundation vent was not installed, the pond pump and filter housing leaked, and our AC unit position was not adjusted as it should have been. I asked for tracer lines for the irrigation and was told they would provide photos which I did not get. I was charged for visits to fix issues with their work. Some of the issues were resolved and some were not, but it took manny manny calls and emails just trying to get them to follow up. I did what I could my self to avoid having to get them back out here and still not fix something. I spent over a 2 years trying to get GT to finish the job. There is still a low spot in front of my shed that creates a large puddle. The pond pump and filter housing has shifted so the filter is jammed against the pump. I need to use a crow bar to shift the pump over to get the filter out for regular cleanings. For a while I thought the pond leaked, but I tested it and it holds water fine, so I just told my self, with the waterfall there is just a lot more evaporation than expected. It turns out there has been water trickling over the the liner near the top all this time. I moved some rocks to reduce the issue, but I could not fix it with out some significant adjustments. I emailed GT about it stating I was hoping this is something we could talk about. I did not tell them they needed to fix it for free. It seems it took me too long to figure out the liner was installed incorrectly. It is clear they are not going to help me with it unless I pay $140 for someone to come out plus time and materials. GT responded to this review not by contacting me, but by emphasizing that this issue is outside of their warranty window. Making a statement like We proudly stand behind our work right after a customer brings up an installation issue is concerning. Adrians initial email response was Reviewing your previous work, it looks like the last repairs on site were in 2016; (I was actually still dealing with their issues at the end of Nov. 2017) unfortunately, that places the timeframe out of warranty. We can definitely take a look at the issue and determine the problem and fix under a work order. Our work orders are $140 for dispatch, plus time and materials billed at $70.00. If you wish to set up a work order, please let me know so I can get one started and sent for approval. There was no apology or effort to see what they could do to help with a mistake they made. All they did was ask for money. If you are getting some significant landscaping done you might want to look someplace else, because this is the kind of workmanship, service, and follow up support you can expect.

The GT Landscape team did a fabulous job, while being on time and paying attention to details. We recently had them help us with a smaller drainage project, which they handled with equal effectiveness and professionalism. Would definitely recommend this top notch operation.

I want to say that so far I am disappointed with the way I have been getting treated. I have been dealing with Pat and he has not been very helpful or professional. He is very rude! I bought this house a couple months ago. The previous owner had you guys fix a retaining wall. The area was left a big sloppy mess for about a week or so and than they put hay down. Originally I was going to ask you guys to look at putting stairs in for me but that changed immediately the first day I spoke to Pat. So now I have several contractors who have come over to look at putting a bid in for me. I asked these contractors what they thought of the work that was done. I had several contractors ask where does the 3 drain come out at because we couldn t find it. One contractor told me that he thinks this retaining wall will only last for about a year or two. Another contractor said how come the bottom retaining wall block was not in the ground? Legit questions if you ask me. Is there someone else besides Pat that can have a little bit more patience with helping customers? I still can t get a legit answer from you guys about getting my boulders done. I m trying to work with your company in getting these issues resolved but I am getting to my boiling point. I highly recommend that if you have job that needs to be done than do not use this company because of the following above reasons. Most likely I will put a call in with the better business bureau of Oregon if my issues are not looked at or explained to me by the company who did this work. I hired GT Landscape Solutions to do a project in my backyard to resolve a drainage issue. In working with them, I ended up expanding the project to include slight regrading of my backyard, re-sodding the backyard, and installing pavers around my deck to create more useable space and a pad for a hot tub. Im very happy with the project and GTs crew was very professional and considerate. Id use them again on future projects.

I hired GT to install a French drain in my backyard. From the estimate visit with Skye to the great team work by Fabian and his crew I couldn t be happier. The crew were extremely careful and precise in every aspect. Thumbs up!

Aaron and his crew did a great job repairing and extending a sprinkler and drip system in spite of two bad weathers days. TERRIBlLE SERVICE after the installation when Aaron quit. We spent $5000 for the install in February and didn t turn the system on until late April, when I discovered a large leak in one of the lines. They wouldn t come to look at it for 10 days, and when they did they said they wouldn t cover it under warranty. They said they would have to charge me time and materials and come back later to fix it. WORTHLESS WARRANTY! I just had someone else fix it.

We thought they did a good job until we turned the sprinkler system on last week and one of the lines had a big crack in it. It took them 10 days to come out and then informed us that we had somehow caused it and refused to fix it under their one year warranty. they said the only way they would fix it is if they bid the job and came out again in two more weeks or longer. Would not recommend this company at all. We fixed the line ourselves for four dollars in parts in 10 minutes worth of work.

The only reason I leave 2 stars is for the hard workers who try to do their work. The rest of the experience was a nightmare and I hope people look elsewhere for their sanity. I was made to feel bad for questioning work, when in fact the work was being done incorrectly and they were doing damage to my retaining wall in my backyard, which anyone who landscapes knows is essential when you live on a hill, especially in West Salem. The list of complaints is vast, but what disturbed me the most was the fact that the owner lies to his customers. For over $5,000, you would think I would get what I paid for...but that is a big ol negative. The plate compacted path, well you can see in the pictures. They used a temper, which is a handheld version of an actual plate compactor, and try to claim it was plate compacted. As a combat veteran, I would assume businesses would practice loyalty, honesty, and integrity (a few Army core values), but we all know what assumptions do they make an ___ out of you and me:( Lesson learned! The first two pictures are of non-compacted areas, the last is the only truly compacted area. In fact, it looks like the only area where they used the stabilizer, which was $1,500 extra, I might add. Which, I was never told the specific stabilizer it was like I requested (since I wanted an itemized list of costs to make sure I was not being robbed), just the brand name...because they would have had to tell me they used the cheaper stuff that does not last long that I will have to replace in a year or two. Also, I planted the plants, because I was tired of the huge dirt mounds they left. BEWARE, for your sake. Good luck in your landscaping endeavors. *If there was enough space and enough patience, I would show all that was detailed and the lies he still continues to spew. Lastly, for the love of English, learn to write it please!

If you are looking for an excellent landscaping company, this is the one!! I am 74. I can still remember when the customer(client) came first on all aspects of a company providing a product, from the beginning, during and after. You cant go wrong here. this company is doing it!! GT did an entire redo of our landscaping, front and back plus adding stone along the walkway to the house, along the front sidewalk and updated our sprinkler system. For me, I did not want to spend hours coming up with a plan. So I told Johnny and Pat use your experience, keeping in mind my suggestions. note: they themselves did not do the work, right? But their installation team did everything to honor my perfection! And boy, did the landscaping blend with the new driveway we put in prior to GT doing their work. Is GT cheap? no. Cheap will get you todays customer care, which stinks. Are they the most expensive? no. With the research I did prior to picking GT, they fell into all what I have said above. Last, Pat and Johnny dont just collect the money. they were the go to guys to give support to their excellent installation team! Note: if you figure out their nice(I think) personalities and they yours, you can have fun while working with them. Guaranteed!!

GT Landscape Solutions helped us redo the landscape for my Mother and Father-in-laws home in Monmouth. The original soil when they bought the house was hard as a rock and nothing was growing well. The yard had problems with surface roots from the trees. The did a complete redo - removing the old trees, amending the soil with quality soil, laying new sod and planting new trees. They worked with us to stay as close to our budget as possible and did the design as well. We had an issue where the cherry trees that were planted were not the ones my mother-in-law had envisioned. They were gracious enough to work with us until the correct tree was installed. We highly recommend this company for a quality result to your landscape project!

I have never used a lanscaper before and did not know what to expect. I went on faith and contacted Green Thumb. I was provided with swift follow-up and was scheduled within the week. I was given (what I was told by others, since I had nothing to base it on) a very reasonable quote. And when I arrived home at the end of day 1 of a 2 day job, was blown away. Every expectation I had was not only met, but far exceeded. I was able to talk with Sean (Shawn? One of those :)) who explained what he was doing and asked if there was anything else I needed. The next day, Sean and Darin arrived before I went to work and, again, asked if the work so far was ok and what they would be completing. Their work was absolutely beautiful! And Johnny would call me regularly with updates, which was so helpful and gave me peace of mind. I am so impressed with your professionalism, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for what you do! Thank you for helping me get my yard under control and ready for summer! You will be my only call the next time I need a landscaper.

The 2 men that completed my landscaping job were very hard workers, careful to do thorough job of weeding, got bushes and arboritae shaped up. I would go with GTL in the future!

Unfortunate miscommunication with Donald when getting quote for sod removal and replacement and complete weeding for front and back yard. My original email request was for both front AND back yard to be worked on. I got a quote for work to be completed and agreed to price and terms. To my surprise, only the backyard was completed. Contacted Green Thumb and was told Donald no longer works there and the contract was only for the back yard! (contract did not specify only backyard) I should have known the price( ~$1300 ) was too good to be true. The work quality was average to me. A little careless. Ill point out that sod was placed completely over two pop up sprinklers. The soil was a lumpy in sections so I smoothed those out on my own. Other minor clean up issues noted but will not bore you with. Johnny took over Donalds job and apologized for Donalds miscommunication. Their proposed solution - a non discounted price to have my front sod done and a parts discount to have irrigation fixed. Front sod (~$1500) and irrigation fix (~$500). Sticker shock. This would have brought total project to ~$3300, more than double my budget. Of course I declined No further efforts were made to help rectify their communication error. Just wish communication was clearer so that I could have avoided this whole experience. To me, I paid full premium Green Thumb price and only got half the job done (averagely). Now I get to finish the front on my own to keep within budget. Green Thumb will undoubtably state all work was been done within contract terms. Live and learn. Update 9-3-16: Finished the front yard with the help of Greenway Scapes, JB sod and Bark Boys. Greenway Scapes removed the old sod and prepared the soil for sod application ($260). They did a great job. Nice and flat surface. JB delivered 480 Sq ft of sod which was way more than I needed but the minimum needed to order for delivery ($206). Placed the sod and spread the bark dust delivered by Bark Boys ($145) on my own with the help of my dad. Came significantly lower than Greenthumbs quote of $1500 to remove sod and lay new sod in the front lawn. So, if you are willing to work a bit, just order what you need and save the money and headache. The work I completed in the front yard on my own outshines the backyard prepared by Greenthumb. Lesson learned.

Me and my husband just bought a house that needed a lot of work done. Lots of blackberries, 3ft tall grass, and weeds everywhere. Just a lot of work needed to be done. We never hired a landscape company before and decided to contact this company. Johnny came out within a few days to give me a quote, than scheduled us the following week. Very fast, great customer service from him, the crew did a amazing job. They made our front, backyard, and driveway look fantastic. We hired the company for a one time cleanup, but now we are wanting to do a contract with them to have regular work done.

This spring our flowerbeds were filled with unwanted grass and weeds weve never seen in the past. We like to work in the yard, but we knew it would be fall before we got it under control. Johnny Burrows brought in the people he calls the Day & Night crew. Within five hours, they had the yard looking wonderful. We had lots of Iris blooming, and not a one was lost. They were very careful around all our existing plants, they werent afraid to ask questions, they were very personable, and they worked so very hard. Now we are able to putter in the beds and see easily what plants we want to add or move. We are very pleased with the outcome.

We had a wonderful experience with Green Thumb Landscaping! When they gave us our initial onsite visit, they did our backflow test as well, and gave us a great value on our irrigation bid (which they sent to us via email a couple weeks later). They fixed our existing sprinkler zone to cover our entire front lawn while saving water, they also added an additional zone and it is all working great! Dustin was out yesterday to help with my sprinklers. I had other sprinkler specialist out but they could not help me. Dustin determined that my problem was the city water coming in to my back flow. So he called the city. He waited for them to come out to make sure the job got done right. The city fixed the problem and now my sprinklers work better than they have in 20 years better than when they were installed. Good Job DUSTIN!

After I approved it, he scheduled the work and made sure that our regular maintenance crew understood exactly what I wanted. They did a GREAT job. Johnny called me the next day to ask if I was satisfied. I loved that he took the time to follow up and make sure that I was satisfied with the work. The second project was having our home pressure washed. Again Johnny came to the house this morning, with Armando, to insure that the work was planned to my satisfaction. Armando did an incredible job! The house looks great, he paid attention to detail and he cleaned up everything when he was done. Once again, when the work was finished, Johnny stopped by in person to walk the property and insure my satisfaction. Green Thumb has completed several projects for me and I have come to expect a high degree of professionalism. Im never disappointed. These guys are great! Johnny Burrows and staff have our dealership grounds at Tonkin Wilsonville Nissan in tip top shape every week! We have used around 5 landscape companies since 2005 and Green Thumb is by far the best. I also use them on a personal level at my home and will never use anyone else! The office staff also goes out of there way to send me notifications by email rather than just sending me a bill. In my book they go over and above to take care of there customers!

I live in the Brigeport area near Tualatin and have been a client of Green Thumb for about 18 months and am extremely pleased with the service they are providing, both landscape maintenance and new and revised projects. I am so pleased with their work that I continue to have new ideas and they keep getting things done -- from simply replacing a lawn to creating a beautiful water feature/pond and a meandering path through the back yard to that pond and the outdoor living area. The projects have not always been about improving the appearance of the landscaping and sometimes were very labor intensive (during the heat of the summer in 2015!) but the guys did the work efficiently and always with a smile and the end result is a beautiful piece of property. I appreciate my contact, Phong Tran, for his expertise and creative ideas, and of course, the guys who carry out the work orders with enthusiasm and professionalism. I have already recommended them to a neighbor who had them do a fairly large project and they love it. Their pricing is very reasonable compared to other companies, particularly in view of the quality of their work. You would be happy with their work, too!

Last year service was pretty good. The office staff was great but dont expect a prompt return call when you ask a question. When I want to schedule an appointment for new scrubbery, I am told Donald will call me back. Yet I have called twice and still no call.

I worked with Donald to turn my backyard of mud, rocks and broken concrete into a lovely groomed area ready to plant in spring. The crew shouldnt work unsupervised as they cut corners and didnt do what they said they would do. However when Donald was alerted, he had them back out immediately to do the work right. I hired them to do the front yard and it looks nice. Just recently found areas where they didnt remove sod (where they were supposed to) and just put mulch down, but overall the work was worth the price I paid. Donald was great to work with, showed up on time for all appointments and was spot on with his quotes of duration of project and cost.

Johnny Burrows started in 2015 and has been a blessing in disguise ever since. I can always rely on him to follow through with any concerns that I have had. Just got home to my beautiful, freshly cleaned yard thanks to Green Thumb Landscaping. I always come back to these guys whenever my yard needs attention because their results consistently exceed my expectations. My only complaint is that getting on their schedule sometimes takes a long time (it can take a couple of weeks to get a call back). However, given their quality of work, I have to assume its because theyre in high demand, and theyre always worth the wait.

Superb! Many thanks to Phong Tran and the crew from Green Thumb. What a job! Literally went from the remnants of a backyard after construction and turned it into a showcase. And, in the most terrible of conditions, ( rain, rain- did I mention rain)- almost a month Feb/March 2106. I was so impressed with the crew. With little or none in the way of instructions or a plan other than some hand waving they accomplished all the tasks in an imaginative, cooperative ways and many times employing clever solutions. The whole certainly was greater than the sum of the parts.

My wife and I just moved to Salem after purchasing our first home here. As much as we love our new house, the yard needed a *LOT* of work. It hadnt been maintained for 1 or 2 years, so what once had been an immaculately kept yard was filled with overgrown and dying plants. Unfortunately, it needed a complete overhaul -- which doesnt come cheap. Ultimately we chose Green Thumb to do the work. Donald - our point man - was super friendly, and helped us with the initial plan and walk-thru. He lent us a clear vision of a low-maintenance but highly attractive new yard. We pulled virtually everything out and started from scratch. His team worked hard, and even went the extra mile to help us do things like move the access gate to a different spot on the fence. They were here nearly everyday for a week, working hard and answering questions and being responsive to our last minute adjustments. At no point did they ever get annoyed that we changed our mine about something, or added a new task to the project. They did everything with an upbeat, positive attitude. Honestly, we were dreading this whole process a little bit. It was a lot of work, and its not cheap rebooting your landscaping - especially right after buying a house. We kept getting cold feet before the work started, wondering if wed made a poor choice investing the money. But now that the work is done, we couldnt be happier. The Residence Inn Lloyd Center has been using Green Thumb for a year now and what a difference it has made! Our 6 1/2 acre property was in need of some TLC. I called Johnny at Green Thumb Landscape about water leaking from what looked to me, to be part of my apartments sprinkler/irrigation system. We had just had Green Thumb out last week to winterize the system, and I assumed the broken pipe had something to do with their most recent visit. Johnny had Dustin, his Irrigation Specialist call me, who after a few minutes of me trying to explain what I was looking at, told me he did not think it was a sprinkler system issue. HOWEVER, Dustin rescheduled all of his appointments anyways and drove out to my property to check it out for me. Once he got there, he showed me how his irrigation system ties into my main water line after the leak. We were then able to determine that the leak is most likely coming from the buildings water shut-off valve. Dustin went out of his way to stop by my property and then took the time to show me the important /need to know things about the rest of the irrigation system at the multi-family property I very recently started working at. I appreciate your sense of urgency, your time, and your patient Dustin. Thank you and great job.

I wanted to extend my current sprinkling system and asked for bids. Donald with Green Thumb was one of the contractors I called. He was here on time; was very professional and pleasant; and is the only contractor that looked at the area involved and measured before leaving. Their bid came in with the most detail and $600 less than the other professional bid I received. I am very pleased with the finished work and Donald came by and we did a walk through of the project. I would highly recommend that you look for another landscape maintenance company in the Salem area. They were great during the scoping of our weekly service plan, providing a quote in near real-time. However, once the contract is signed the service falls short. We had signed up for full-service, to basically take care of everything. The crew that showed up simply edged and mowed and were gone as fast as can be, just like the ground coverings they destroyed. In fact they had no clue that we were full-service, a case where the office wasnt communicating with the crew. We asked for the gentlemen that contracted the service to come out multiple times as the crew wasnt doing what was supposed to be done and he stood us up multiple times. This all happened within the first month and we knew this wasnt going to be a good partnership. They dont meet their brand promise, agreements and therefore I wouldnt recommend.

Dont waste your time. Called to sched lawn care with a groupon. Told me theyd call back at the end of the week to sched. They didnt. Called the following week to ask why. Said theyd schedule us at the end of this current week for the next week. They didnt. (Thats twice, so far.) Again, the following week--called and said Im having serious doubts about their customer service. Receptionist muffled the phone to talk to someone, came back and said they were sorry, been real busy because of the groupons (well I had one too, didnt I ?) but theyd be there Wednesday the following week. They didnt show up and didnt even call to explain why. Cancelled the groupon. Got a call from them about two weeks later saying theyd scheduled me and would be out the following week. I said that was fine as long as theyre okay with not getting paid. Told the receptionist I cancelled the groupon. Thought it was yet another strike against them that they werent interested in knowing why I didnt want their service any more. Just, Ok, thanks. Bye! Huh? Really? Apparently this company hasnt been touched by the difficult economic times.
