He responded promptly to my quote request, met me at our property within 2 days, and we hired them and completed the initial maintenance clean up of our front property within a week! We have a rock garden in front of our townhomes in midtown with garden boxes, and the weeds have been a beast. We are so thankful to have bi-weekly service going forward to maintain our rockscaping! I contracted with Orchid Lawn Care for initial yard clean up and thereafter, weekly service. I m on a corner lot with a huge yard (front/back) and large trees. The owner took time to answer my many questions, was transparent re individual cost associated with various service options and, the first service provided exceeded my expectations. Orchid is higher than previous companies I have used but with this first job, it appears they will be worth the investment. I wish I had taken before/after pictures to illustrate my point. The owner Armando Morales came out personally and listened to my needs and worked out a plan to meet my needs. A very large backyard was completely weeded, leaves removed and overall backyard was cleared of previous mess. All debris was hauled away. It looks awesome. Thank you

Orchid Lawn Care cleaned up my front, back and side yard and took out all the bulbs, trimmed all the fruit trees (they are very thorny) as well as the Palm tree. My yards have never looked so nice and my lawns are always the greenest in the neighborhood. I will post pictures as well

Not for me... I requested for Orchid to provide the following services: get rid of moss, get rid of weeds, provide regular service, fix sprinklers (drain was flooding). Armando came out, assessed the area, stated he could get rid of moss and weeds, and said my sprinklers worked fine, but that the drain, itself, required irrigation repair, and that my sprinkler control box had to be replaced in order to figure out what was wrong with sprinkler system. I signed the fee agreement, and service started the following week since I was required to have weekly service. The first day, mow and blow was completed (no grass to cut though), but no weed treatment, no moss treatment, and the bush was not trimmed. He returned days later to replace my control box with a very inexpensive box. I was very disappointed because it was costing me close to $300 (labor charge was the highest quoted at $179 to replace box), although the price of the box was only $100 (a Hunter Pro C). I didnt have a real budget, but since Im an accountant, I believe in paying what makes sense. I did express that I didnt want to pay in the thousands for sprinkler repair. When I complained about the price, he said he could find me a cheaper version (my complaint was due to price of the box compared to the labor, and because I thought he would give me a selection of 2 to 3 options, not choose himself) -_- and that he could not diagnose why the sprinklers were causing my yard to flood without replacing the control box (my box had been unplugged for a very long time, so Im not sure how an old box was causing leaking). I also mentioned that the bush was not trimmed last week (which I assumed came part of regular service), but he said he was only here to replace the control box. He could have at least said well look at it or it wasnt part of service or its an additional charge or something. I had someone else come and look at my sprinklers, and automatically diagnosed a leak from one of the valves (he taught me how to listen for the leak) and explained that it was most likely causing the ground to be mushy from excess water. I found a control box (the control box I found was $200 and was recommended by more than a couple of people) on my own that didnt require almost $200 in labor charges (it took less than 20 minutes to install and program since I only had 2 zones and a single drip). And I was able to get a sprinkler that allowed me to work it from my phone, since I travel often with the military. Im not too sure if he was just pressured to make a sale, or if he was taking advantage; nevertheless, I had to take my business elsewhere, which was very unfortunate since he seemed like a nice guy. Update: Based on response from Orchid, it seems as if they did not pay attention to my concerns. My concerns was not that the yard was watering irregularly. I never made that statement. I specifically said, at initial visit, last year the timer was accidentally set to 95 minutes, not sure how (just moved in last year, so I definitely could have changed it by accident), but that happened in July/Aug of last year, which I believe contributed to the moss growth and dead patches. I also stated that it needed to be replaced because it was glitching based on what the HOA guy said. Since the box had been unplugged, Im unsure as to how he thought the issue was irregular watering. I didnt attempt to use the sprinklers with old control box until after his assessment, days later. When new sprinkler guy came out, I explained the same thing, he said that the control box wouldnt have anything to do with my yard flooding especially considering it had been unplugged for months. I canceled with Armando, because I felt like I needed to get another opinion. What truly bothered me about all this is that Armando went to my valves and said there was no leaks, despite walking in a mushy area and checking the valves, and is still claiming he could not tell what was wrong without first replacing a control box.

I called Orchid Law Care because my lawn is dead and I am looking for someone to revive it and keep it looking good. Armando came out to look at the lawn and gave us some great advise and was honest about what we needed to get our lawn green and healthy and green again. He gave great customer service and was very knowledgeable.

The guys saved my yard from being eaten alive by weeds and ivy! It was a pretty crazy plant catastrophe but they were able to clean it all up and make it look beautiful again so that it can be easily maintained. They asked questions to make sure they didn t remove any plants I wanted to keep without assuming first. I also use them for bi-weekly landscaping and my yard looks presentable and clean after they leave. They send texts a few minutes before they arrive which I appreciate. I tried to handle it by myself initially, but I m so glad I decided to have Orchid take the wheel on this.

If you ever need Lawn care, you gotta use their services. They are reasonably priced as well. They are timely, professional, and kind. My yard gets the help it needs. Armando was very responsive and professional. Provided aerating and seeding of a big yard, and it has turned out great. Also provided lots of expertise on watering and future steps to keep the lawn looking great. Would definitely recommend his services to others.

This original review was positive however after leaving for what was to be a long period overseas and coming back due to an emergency family issue I found that not only werent they following my original agreement to maintain my front rose bushes and bushes which was the main part of my yard, they had also damaged my drip systems I had put in myself. They then asserted that they only do basic lawns service and everything else is extra. Well my lawn takes 5 minutes is about 1.5 feet wide 10 - 15 feet on either side of my backyard with another strip same width about 10 ft. long and they charged a premium price per week and it wasnt for those miniscule strips of lawn. Im in an HOA and when I hired them I emphasized this and the need to trim the bushes and rose care and pull weeds which is why I agreed to a higher price I wanted to be sure things were handled properly while I was gone. I also told them the reason the last service wasnt retained was they didnt maintain my rose bushes and weeds. I came back from a family emergency and have to do yard work I paid for plus repair my drip system they damaged and wanted me to pay and additional fee to fix that takes my precious time away from the emergency I came back to help with! In response to Armandos claim we verbally agreed to a $54.00 BI-WEEKLY backyard mowing of 2 small strips of grass that takes 5 minutes is absurd I was very emphatic where my border in the front lawn was located and the need to trim my bushes and trees for HOA compliance as opposed to the small strips that are not scrutinized in my backyard by the HOA. My pool dominates my small backyard so the grass strips there are extremely small. A neighbor called and sent me pictures of my sprinklers flooding and streaming into the streets from my yard when I was still overseas I let Armando know and instead of checking it out he started quoting prices telling me he would have to dig up the yard etc. he them showed up 4 or 5 days later (after being told this was an emergency) after I had arrived and I had dealt with the issue. I saw where Armadno and crew had carelessly folded up my drip lines in my vegetable garden we agreed they would not be mainiating in my backyard but left the sections uncoupled thrown against my back fence to shoot out through the pipes into my pool and yard causing flooding but he wanted to charge extra for this damage he and his crew caused. I called Orchid Lawn several times before even thinking about giving such a poor rating but they actually wanted extra money to fix what they damaged and to do what WE AGREED TO which was TRIMMING MY ROSE and other BUSHES with the SMALL GRASS STRIPS as a the MINOR PORTION of the DEAL. All Orchid and Armando had to admit that the discussion about not doing pruning was for my vegetable gardens in the backyard which I purposely didnt start as I normally have for 12 plus years since I would be out of town and not my rose and other bushes in my front yard which are a HUGE DEAL everything would have been fine. The communications were slow very dismissive and he seemed to think I was a piggy bank he could just tap for more and more money without providing the original work and covering the damage

I hired Orchid Lawn Care for routine mowing and trimming after frustrating experiences with three prior contractors. Orchid is a very high end lawn care service with many years of experience in Sacramento and a strong emphasis on quality service. My yard is now lush and green again and something I can enjoy every day. Orchid just completed overhauling a very complex old sprinkler system problem in my front lawn. I was very impressed with their work. These folks are the best! I am thankful to have finally found a truly great lawn care company.
