They were very responsive and I really enjoy my new backyard. Definitely recommend them.

The Team was easy to work with and did a great job on our yard projects that included a retaining wall / fire pit area in the front and new sod, bark, and irrigation in the back.

landscape lighting was installed and punctured a hole in the sprinkler pipe- they didnt bother to repair and I had to pay someone else to fix their mess also a dry creek bed was installed above the ground rather than below the level of the ground - as a creek would run expensive for the level of work done

Worst experience any contractor in over 2 decades of homeownership! There is no doubt that this company is comprised of good people that were once and currently are, regarded as reputable, unfortunately this was not the experience in this case. Documentation and receipts are on-record to support all facts stated within this review. Zero customer service, but!! only after signing of the contract and after they began receiving initial payments. This company and\or its agents took 6 full weeks of constant no-shows, late arrivals and increasingly unbearable excuses. Time taken was inconsistent with shoddy work and with the pathetically sub-standard materials were used. Amendments increased total costs by approximately 20% above the original quote. Final payment of 18.5k is wildly inconsistent with the final result. Bark was fading within less than 90 days, and almost all grayed out after only 6-7 months. Some bark has already been replaced with approximately 75 dollars of decorative rock. Their workers present as not well compensated, nor were they particularly respectful of homeowner, nor the neighbors. Below standard work constantly had to be caught and called out upon discovery, usually after they arrived late at roughly 1pm and left after 1-2 hours, NOT because they ever reviewed progress or completion status. No agent of Capital Landscape has ever followed up after they were paid in full. NOTE: full payment was delayed only by their inability to complete work in a timely manner. WORST of all they left a blocked drainage outlet that nearly caused flooding to the interior of my home January 14th - fully 6 months after they finally were paid. (This property is not likely to be featured in their portfolio of completely jobs) Have already spent hundreds of dollars, and endless hours repairing the damage left and rehabilitating my property from what this company left me to deal with 8/15/2022. Job was litterally not done, nor done well, but I had enough and had an urgent family matter to deal with. As a property owner, DO request a lien release in order to protect your interests upon working this company. You will benefit by knowing what you are getting into when signing contracts with an Arbitration Clause. Full disclosure: A lien release was requested and provided. At the risk of being redundant - STRONGLY recommend any customer of theirs get a lien release from them! TLDR; (key details and low points and thanks to the truly reputable companies and individuals who have helped me recover from this costly lesson!) *Homeowner since 2002 - current property purchased brand new in 2006 and is owner occupied and did not have any prior issues with drainage. *Original quote was for 15.5k - amendments and agreement with company owner T Bell for final payment of 18.5k remitted, not because I was satisfied, but avoid a lien, as well as end further inconvenience myself and to neighbors. *Ghosted me for almost 3 weeks after securing payment of 6.5k early in July! *Workers consistently left garbage, dirt, debris, and materials for the homeowners\neighbors to clean upon after them. *Due to the blocked drainage outlet they left in the front, water backed up and flooded in the back yard - requiring urgent action on my part to clear the blocked drainage outlet (last touched by... Capital Landscape) *The foreman and workers purposely avoided any communication of their consistently late arrival or early departure. *The workers constantly tripped the GFCI breaker for the external outlets because they used a handmade extension cord with a 20amp (round plug) connector spliced onto it with what looked like exposed wires. *For good measure and safety, a professional electrician was requested to inspect the external outlets and fuse box to confirm there were no issues. A couple of years ago we had a front side yare redone by Capital. Every year since it takes me at least a whole day to fix and clean up the bark. They brought in a full truck of dirt and made the slope to steep and the bark roles down the slope onto river rock. Looks ugly and un kept. Very poor design. Also very poor water system. Don L

Capital Landscape did an amazing job on our backyard project. Everyone we worked with -Mark, Lynne, Dan, Pierre, Eugene- were professional and courteous.

As others said big miscommunication between sales (us and workers). Guys doing the job are fine but the dimensions of our yard and project were 33% percent off and that wasnt discovered until after work started. Thought we then came to an agreement to make it right but got call with the job almost over needing more money. The contract was so far off it was a huge oversight and I had to meet them in the middle since work had started.

We had a lot of mis-communication with sales. Once the supervisor got involved we were happy, however, we did not get the artificial turf we were hoping for. Now we have been waiting two weeks to get the final task done. The crew was very nice

A year ago we hired Capital Landscape (CL) and the disappointment and frustration remain. We had problems with personnel, product and execution. While CL said they would fix problems they took care of simple things but failed to remedy significant issues. We cannot recommend them and are looking for another company now to address our concerns.

Update to my prior review shown below as of 8/4/2017 . The owner, Mark Chester contacted me and later met with me in person to apologize for his prior lack of follow through. He provided a new professional bid and has expressed his sincere desire to rectify my prior opinion of his business practices. As a prior real estate professional I think this shows a true desire to put the customer first and I am impressed by his willingness to do what it takes to recover the situation. I will be reviewing and responding to his bid soon but did want to relay that my opinion has changed to the degree that I am going to give his bid consideration and will update the review again at a later date if I move forward with this business. jULY 27, 2017 I would not recommend this business. Note, I had to give 1 star in order to post the review, otherwise Zero. I requested an in-person bid on July 18th and was given a date of July 20th that Marc Chester, Owner of Capital Landscape would come over to give me a bid. He called 30 minutes prior to his appointment time and said he would be 45 minutes late and gave us the chance to reschedule or wait a bit. We choose to wait for him. He came out, drew up a plan according to our combined ideas and said the following I will have a bid for you by phone and email by Friday , which was the next day or Monday at the very latest which would have been July 24th. Today is Thursday July 27th and we have not heard a word from him or anyone in his company. This is a common problem among landscapers and an unacceptable business practice. If you didnt want the job Sir, you should have said so on the spot instead of wasting our time.

Great experience with Capital. From the planning stages to our final backyard, it was more than we could ever imagine. We had so many ideas of what our yard could have looked like but with the help of everyone at Capital Landscape the end result was absolutely amazing. We had an outdoor water feature installed and a new patio poured. The way Capital was able to blend our water feature, patio and newly installed garden was pretty amazing. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. All we wanted was a plan but all Dan (their designer) kept doing was trying to get us to the construction stage. From the start, he kept asking what material we wanted to use. We didnt even have a design and hes pushing us towards as much hardscape as he possibly can. We HATED is plan when he finally presented it to us. It did not include ANY, and I mean ANY of the elements we requested. It only included concrete and hardscape. And when I mentioned to Dan that we didnt want all that hardscape, he became rude and condescending. Then the owner, stepped in and said he was so sorry and wouldnt charge us for the plan since we didnt like it, but asked if we would give him the courtesy of showing us an updated plan. We agreed, but there was absolutely no difference. Then he insisted that we pay for the plan per the contract we signed. When I brought up the phone call where he said he wouldnt charge us, he insisted we pay for the plan because Dan worked really hard on it. I told him that was on Dan. He should have listened to what we wanted so that he wouldnt waste his time giving us a design tha we dont like. And after all that, he had the audacity to give us a quote on having the work done even though we made it clear we didnt like the design. We had to hire another designer who actually listened to us and gave us what we wanted - not what was going to make the contractor the most money - which is concrete!
