Rene and his team were amazing to work with. We first worked with them on a front yard redesign and the following year, had them redo our backyard. They do amazing work and highly recommend them.
This review has been very long overdue… Rene and his entire crew were more than amazing! They turned my home into something that is so magical that I have a very hard time leaving. They were here on time, they were meticulous and paid attention to detail like no other… they kept the job site clean and their work was exceptional. They landscaped and planted my entire front yard, side yard and back. They built decking, they created a fruit orchard and a bocce ball court, they put stairs down to a donkey landing. Truly, words are not enough, but I thank them and can’t wait for them to come back and do more. Choosing compass? was one of the best decisions that we’ve made.

Compass' hardscape masonry and landscape artistry is amazing. Their creative, high quality, clean and professional workmanship transformed our 1970 era brick front yard to a contemporary oasis complete with a patio, low lighting, irrigation and colorful native plants. Compass completed the job on schedule in spite of winter rainstorms, rocky PV soil and my numerous changes! We plan to hire them next year to transform our back yard.

Great experience overall. Renee was patient and diligent during the planning and approval process. The landscaping work was fast and clean with outstanding results. We included accent lighting that made the renewed look complete, night and day. Highly recommended!
Rene was great with design and responsive to requests. The crew showed up every morning at the same time and cleaned up before they left. They were respectful and very professional. The project was completed as scheduled. We are very happy with the results and had a great experience working with Rene and his crew.
Our yard had been suffering from years of neglect and a decrepit irrigation system. Compass Landscaping transformed our entire yard and it is amazing! The scope of work for the project was not fully worked out with the one drawing that I used as the basis for the bid. Rene provided a competitive proposal and was very flexible to work with us as the details of the landscaping emerged. His contract extra was reasonable and well defined. The work by his hardscaping crew lead by Gustavo was well coordinated and well executed. They had little room to stage materials for the work in the back yard and managed it well without impacting my neighbors. The Landscaping crew lead by Eli worked hard and did well when the completion date was moved forward. Although, some attention to detail was encountered at the end of the project. Overall we are very satisfied with the work and we plan to work with Compass in the future.
Rene & crew have continued to do incredible work for us over multiple irrigation and construction projects. I look forward to working with them again in the future
Rene & Company did both the hardscape and landscape for our new patio area. The original quotation was competitive and the changes and add ons were priced fairly as well. .

Compass was amazing!! I interviewed lots of landscapers for a hillside job and so glad I went with them. Rene helped me get my ideas down into a design that truly came out better than I expected it would. We took a useless hillside and turned it into a terraced garden with a seating area and a bocce ball court. We are thrilled. the price was fair, the crew very pleasant and professional This was truly one of the best experiences I have had working on our home.
Compass did a great job redoing my entire yard. Prices were fair - they did the work exactly when they said they would at the price quoted. Later they found me a tree removal company to do a difficult job. Will use them again.
Rene and his team are conscientious, hard working, detail oriented and extremely cooperative. Our project started out as a medium-sized project and expanded dramatically into a project that took over a year to complete. One reason it expanded was because the work completed by Compass was so good, it required that the rest of the landscaping be upgraded as well.
II would like to write multiple reviews because I had Compass do so much, but I guess I am not allowed to. I hired Compass to design and install a drought-resistant landscape (front and back), build a sturdy and permanant jacuzzi step and rail, run power & install a couple of lamp-posts in the garden they made, run power & water & make a meditation spot at the far end of the property, make an exercise/boxing pitch, and build a path to the house. There are three or four jobs included in this work, and each was done with great professionalism and artistry. I couldnt be more pleased. Rene is a great listener and designed a garden for me based on my verbal description and a few very rough sketches. His design was very artistic, which I appreciated, and the finished product is as artistic as the design. The quality of the work he did and the materials he used is top of the line. His selection of colorul and interesting plants was tasteful and consistent with the ecology we live in. The landscape he made for us has made a garden of our property that is a pleasure to sit in. I couldnt be more happy with it. Rene made some excellent suggestions for the jacuzzi step and rail, including using Trex, which turned out to be a terrific idea. One job that isnt completed yet is removing a city tree, and thats only because city government is slow and tedious. Even here, Rene has navigated the bureaucracy with much-appreciated tenacity. The city completed its inspection last month and I expect an approval to remove the tree with all the speed the urban forestry department is known for. Ill have Compass do that work, too, when the time comes.
The crew was efficient, polite, on time, clean, and communicated well. We were very happy with the quality of the work. Would hire them again.
We hired Compass Landscape to replace a concrete patio that had been damaged by huge tree roots. It was a huge amount of work to remove the concrete and the roots below. The crew worked tirelessly and we are very happy with the results.
Extensive and complicated project on steep slope including landscaping and hardscaping of front and back yards. Construction lasted 9 months as we added more and more to the project. Rene was always available to meet on a weekly basis. When errors were made, Rene did not have any problems fixing them. Crew worked hard and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Only complaint was that Rene was very busy and sometimes forgot about things we had talked about. Overall, very happy with the work and would use them again.
Compass Landscaping did a wonderful helping us transform our backyard. Rene and his crew were prompt and cleaned up daily. Rene worked with us to change the design due to the site conditions and we are very happy with the results. They installed pavers, planters, drainage, and decks to update our yard to be more modern and a cohesive design. Highly recommend using them.

Compas landscape just completed re-landscaping our backyard and we are extremely happy. The crew, Ruben and company, was professional and very cooperative when we deviated from the plans. Moreover when asked for little favors they performed without hesitation. The backyard looks great. And Rene, the owner was accessible and always return messages promptly. Even though we had our own design he had a good eye and made recommendations that we were pleased with. A five star company that stands behind their work.

Truly the best of the best. Professional, on-time, cleaned up the job site each day and at the end (a big pet peeve with me). I would also add patient. As the went through the job and I saw the quality of the work, I started adding things - they never balked. I would highly recommend Rene and his team. I have been working with Kim, Rene and their entire team for years. They have handled my commercial and personal projects from large to small with the same level of perfection every time. Their knowledge of plant life and design is amazing and the quality of their hardscape and landscape work while staying on budget is untouchable. An the best thing is that they then can also handle the maintenance once they have completed the project.
After meeting with several vendors we selected Compass because of the initial speedy responses and onsite meeting to determine what would be best for our backyard. Renes team started as agreed and finished the job within the given timeframe. We are very happy with the end result.
