Peter Doran Lawn and Landscaping is a full-service lawn care maintenance, landscape design/landscape/hardscape installation, and snow removal contractor for residential and commercial clients. We are a 30-year-old company comprising many experienced lawn maintenance crews, three licensed fertilizer and weed control technicians, very talented hardscape & landscaping crews, supervised by a professional landscape designer, and a fleet of reliable snow plow trucks maintained by an incredible mechanic. Some of the worst service I've ever received. There was no communication about my fall leaves cleanup. Peter Doran came far too early in the season, where barely any leaves had fallen off of the trees. When I asked what was going on, Jennie said she'd do another cleanup. I asked when, with no response. Again, the team came too early. I asked what is going to happen at this point, with no response. They've since sent a $500 bill to me, for "two" cleanups. Ridiculous! I had to do my own fall cleanup, which I obviously didnt plan for. I dont think they even realize how poor the service was, more the less have I witnessed any accountability or received any apology
I am extremely disappointed with the lack of empathy this company has for its customers. I was a repeat customer for fall cleanup and live in the same home I did for service last year (only less trees this year aka less leaves). My advice to anyone would be to read the fine print and demand transparency on rates before your job is completed. I received an out of the blue email months after my service last year that all customers were going to be automatically enrolled in auto renewal for services completed that year. Seems odd since I never signed a contract to do so. When I received an email that they were coming within the month, I was hesitant since I never signed up for repeat service, however I did not fight it as long as the rate did not dramatically increase. When I asked for an estimate for the job, they gave me the total from last year. (assuming there may be a small increase). After the job was completed I was given the invoice which increased to more than double the rate from the year prior. Note this company is already more expensive than their competitors. In addition, I explicitly asked for a call in advance before completing the service because we have dogs that will run away if our gate is left opened. They agreed to do so however they did not give us a call and started working without notice (thankfully my dogs were not in the yard) and they left the gate wide open after the service (thankfully I checked this as well). When the service was complete they picked up the leaves a week later and did not pick up the leaves that had blown around the yard after heavy winds and snow fall. I understand people make mistakes (likely someone made a mistake when they gave me last year's rate or this year's rate), but I cannot respect that fact that I was met with zero empathy or understanding when I asked further questions about why the rate more than doubled and the amount hauled away was quoted 6x more than the year prior. Instead of working with me, they simply said they would remove me from service next year and take my feedback. Extremely unprofessional business.
I have used Peter Doran Lawn & Landscaping for a number of years to clean up fall leaves (as well as snow removal), and they have always done a good job. The company sent out Jacob and Cooter (spelling?) this year and they did the best job yet, cleaning my lot of the fall leaves. I explained to them my areas of concern, and they far exceeded my expectations. The guys were on there knees blowing out the leaves under my screen porch, I have tried and could never get all the leaves out - but they did. They also got the leaves out of all my landscaping. Jacob and Cooter (spelling?) were so extremely friendly, personable, and hardworking - they even asked me to to inspect my lot with them after they had completed the work to make sure I was satisfied. I WAS EXTREMELY SATISFIED! Kudos to Peter Doran Lawn & Landscaping!
Tanner and crew did an excellent job on our retaining wall, from the removal of the old wall, through every step of construction on the new one, and even re-seeding the parts of the yard that were disrupted. The new wall is super solid, and looks great. The whole crew was friendly, professional and hard working. Thank you Tanner and crew!
I’ve been a customer of Peter Doran lawn & landscaping for a number of years. They have been very accommodating to requests, skipping weeks due to droughts, cutting and picking up invasive weeds along wetland border before they dropped seed. They have improved billing process over the years their responses to phone inquiries are usually same day. Justin O. has been doing a very nice job on the lawn. Moving sump pump hose and putting back in place, blowing debris off hard surfaces. And he always remembers to close the gate. Very important for this dog owner!
Highly recommend! This company was recommended to me for snow plowing services. Cassie was responsive when I reached out with questions and handled them professionally and quickly. So when it came time for spring work at our new home I reached out to them for bids and was not disappointed. Tim prepared and sent the bids in a timely fashion and I selected them from the other bids I had received. With all the rain and work they had to do they still built our beach on time and within budget. Tanner led the teams for each project. He did a fantastic job! Professional, good listener, and has a creative side my projects needed. We then had them reduce the "island" in our driveway, and do trimming and yard clean up on property which they did a great job coordinating with the other work and again the projects were within budget and delivered on time. We have hired them to do our weekly mowing and fertilizing. Everyone who worked on the projects were skilled, super nice and had great work ethics-thank you Eden John, Josh, Hallie & Manny. Tanner and his crew did an excellent job of installing a French Drain, seeding and leveling the ground where storm water was ponding along side our house. Very professional in their work and clean up and at a fair price. Recommended without hesitation. Written by husband Tom

Jetzael is fantastic. Hes respectful, careful, complete, left no trace that hed been here, and he was absolutely determined to make sure I was happy with his work. He wasnt in a rush - his only priority was to clean my gutters and downspouts thoroughly and completely. He checked in a few times to show me what he was doing, so that I could be confident in his work. He even showed me photos from time to time.
Super disappointed in customer service. Had someone come out to give estimate for landscaping services. Took pics etc and said he d send over things in the next day or so. It s been two weeks since he s been here, left him two messages and a message for his support staff and no one is responding. If they weren t interested in this project, they should let me know, not ghost me. Super weird and disappointing.
Wouldn t recommend for snow removal if you want your driveway plowed timely. We only had roughly 3 snowfalls this year. Each time they came out late morning sometimes after 11AM. If you need your driveway plowed to get you to work on time I would not recommend this company. Very disappointing to pay for an entire season, only needing them to come out a few times and they couldn t get around to it until late morning. My husband would shovel out paths for us so we could leave for work.
Nothing but lazy fat weird looking people work here. Its like he hires strictly from the trailer park or middle schools. Either 300lb out of shape guys that smell like they have not showered in a month. Or kids that look like they are 13 and dont want to be there. Worst fall clean up we ever had. Leaves were left all over our mulch and bushes. And leaf pile was left in front yard for weeks.....so long we now have a dirt spot still in our front yard

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They use unethical and deceptive business practices, make sure you read all the fine print on you contract as they will claim to provide services on a property you dont own anymore. Then instead of working with you they send you to collections.
they did the worst job ever, did not finish the work . i paid for their work with proof. after nearly two years he wants more money sending bills to a collection agency. this is a scammer don t give him business 02/24/2023: response to dorans response of lies. again they have done defective work, not finished work, never sent an invoice, never contacted me anymore.he most be running out of money so he tries to cheat money out of people. pictures and witnesses ready to be presented in court. check his negative reviews on yelp and other sites.
I would never use this company the owner likes to pick on kids with disabilities. He shouldn t be allowed around children. Karma is a you know what and he for sure deserves it!

Do NOT use them. Terrible communication. Late snow removal (well after 24 hours after snowfall). Didnt remove all snow, didnt shovel walk paths fully. Working with them has been a nightmare

Snow removal. With this very snowy winter, the plows had trouble finding places for my snow. Hence, the driveway border, rocks, bricks, and lawn all were strewn around. Once the snow melted, it was sure a mess to be reckoned with. I was going to hire someone to rake the yard of rocks and replace the bricks, etc. Well, PD showed up the other day and cleared and fixed it all! Spread grass seed, as well. NICE! Included in the winter snow removal. As a senior, I sure appreceated it very much.

Comparable to your average neighborhood teenager mowing the lawn. Would not recommend for the price. Update after business response: yes my expectations were not met .many parts of the lawn were missed. Pictures from your tech are not going to show that and you opted to not listen to your client who saw for themselves the poor job. Like I said above, comparable to your average neighborhood teenager.
Huge thank you and job well done by Lloyd and Landon from Peter Doran Lawn and Landscaping for completing the fall cleanup on my yard today. I have big oak trees with a lot of leaves to remove. They did a thorough and nice job. Very personable. I recommend these guys and the company behind them.
These guys showed up it was not a great day for doing a fall cleanup the wind was blowing but their attitudes were good they didnt sit there and mope around they just worked worked hard and got it done

Ive had Peter Doran Lawn & Landscaping so my fall and spring yard clean up for a few years now. The Crew does a good job and this fall Colin and Dylan efficiently cleared all my leaves and pine needles! Appreciate the good work!
We use Peter Doran for multiple properties that we manage. They do quality work and send out bid requests in a timely fashion.
We hired them a month ago to do our lawn. First they never received our contract. Had to follow up multiple times to get it going. 2 weeks in a row they missed places on the lawn. This last week they didn t even show up. First two weeks had to ask repeatedly for someone to come out and clean up the missed areas. When you call always get voicemail. Was unable to reach anyone in the office when they didn t show up this week. Follow up 6/27. After emailing about the missed service over the weekend and asking for a copy of our contract and gps time stamps of service for our records, we called in the am regarding missed service. They said they would send someone out that day to complete it. Later received an email from Peter Doran stating the tech said the lawn looked dry last week so he didn t mow. Meanwhile, no one showed up to complete the missed service (like the previous two times when areas of the lawn was not mowed). Still have not received a copy of our contract or the gps time stamps. When we called to say no One showed up for the missed service, it went straight to voicemail.
Fertilizer left all over sidewalk and street after application, no attempt at cleaning up afterwards.
Honestly, Peter Doran is probably one of the worst businesses Ive ever had to deal with - unreliable, non-responsive, and poor communication. They never showed up on the first day to mow despite being told I was at the top of the list for that day. I called multiple times to confirm and the one time they picked up (Izabelle is great though), they assured me the mowers would show up. Nope... never showed up and never returned my calls. I used them for snow removal, which was OK but not great. Would definitely stay away from them.
This Team never fails getting my snow removal done. They do what it takes to get your property all cleared up. Cant say enough good things about this team. Im Getting sick of the snow but Thanks to Peter Doran and his team I can pretend Im someplace warm while I watch them plow and my neighbors snowblow . Its only January this winter might be the time to have someone else do your snow removal. I highly recommend Peter Doran . Shout Out to Matt and Izabella for being so Great to work with!

horrible work we have had non stop issues with their team paid extra and called/emailed multiple times about shoveling our city side walk and below is what we get. Tonight we first hand witnessed a plow truck running over our brand new sod and sprinkler system. RUN RUN RUN

Wouldve given 5 stars but 1st big snow storm Our drive wasnt plowed very well. We contacted them and they replied very quickly and informed us that they driver was new to plowing and they would come back to clean it up better. Not going to knock the new driver Im sure it wont take long to get it down especially in Minnesota winter. No other complaints. Weve had this service for a few years now and are happy with them
