Wesley Graves Design is helping us make our landscape ideas and vision become a reality in our new space in Rockwall County. We shared ideas from our previous landscape oasis in the southern part of Central Texas, and wanted to incorporate the same concept here, but with what is native, drought tolerant, and sustainable in North Central Texas. Wesley listened to our ideas about year-round color, movement, and layering of native and drought tolerant trees, shrubs, and ground cover. He shared his insight into the project plans and suggestions. He incorporated the hardscapes we wanted to see in our front and backyard including rain collection areas that are part of the landscape, walking paths, spa area, kitchen space, vegetable and fruit garden areas, pollinating plants and flowers for bees and butterflies, and driveway stepping space, and a lot less grass throughout the entire yard. We appreciated that Wesley met us at a local nursery and at a tree farm in East Texas to show us examples of plants, shrubs, ornamental trees, and large tree specimens with the characteristics and shapes we wanted to see in our landscape. We needed the large project broken into multiple phases, to accommodate immediate and future plans, and approvals needed from our community HOA. Wesley accommodated those needs. The project prices were fair. Timing and communication of project milestones sometimes got off schedule, but the project phases were completed and we’re very happy with the results!!! The outcome looks great!! Due to the summer’s extreme heat, and some irrigation repairs needed as part of the landscape project, some of the trees and shrubs that were planted did not survive. The Wesley Graves Design warranty will be honored and those trees/shrubs that did not survive will be replaced in early Oct, when their chance of survival is significantly greater. We especially appreciated that Wesley took the time to understand what we wanted and even when a particular tree species was not available for the first phase of the project, which was our front yard, Wesley planted a Sago Palm as a placeholder until the ornamental evergreen tree can be planted, also targeted for planting in early or mid-Oct. We will definitely seek the services of Wesley Graves Design for the additional landscape projects we want completed!!!
We used Wesley last fall for several projects. He did landscaping and grass in our small back yard and a granite path refresh. I loved the plants we chose with his help and the stone borders he installed. He is very easy to work with and talk to. We are super happy with all the work he did for us.
We had an absolutely horrible experience with Wesley on our project. I went with Wes based on Google reviews to contract a high end pool/backyard project. The design phase went well but when it came to start the project is when things began to unravel. Because our project was a large high $ project he told us he was going to finish up a number of other small projects before starting on ours so that he could focus on ours and give it his full attention. That could not have been further from the truth and after three months of initially waiting he finally started the project. He subcontracted out the pool work which initially moved pretty quickly, with excavation and gunnite being done quickly, but then everything came to a grinding halt. There were times when no one would show up on site for three weeks at a time and we were given excuse after excuse why it was not progressing. Wes took a large amount of money up front to be used to purchase materials and specific items for the project. I later came to find out that he had not ordered the materials at all (bedswing, turf, in-ground trampoline, stone, etc) and called the vendors that he said he had ordered the items/materials from directly and found that either he had not paid for the items at all or that he was already on credit hold for non-payment on other projects. I finally called the pool contractor directly after 6 months of zero progress post gunnite and found that all of the money I paid in progress payments to Wes for excavation, plumbing, and gunnite for the pool were not paid to the pool contractor. The pool contractor threatened to repossess all of the pool equipment and put a lien on my home. I then had to get an attorney involved to get Wes to pay the pool contractor and hire another contractor to finish the job. All together the project took over a year and a half to complete and was an incredibly stressful and frustrating process. Wes is not financially or professionally capable of taking on large projects and does not conduct his business in a professional manner. I would never recommend him for any project no matter the size. If you do decide to do business with him make sure everything is clearly established in a construction contract and that all payments are made only after you obtain a lien waiver signed by his sub contractors. Do not pay for anything up front! We tried to be as patient as possible with the personal issues (divorce) going on in his life but ultimately he never followed through with what he said he was going to do, and after so many lies and excuses we just had to move on.
Wesley Graves is not your average business owner. He doesn’t care about how much he will make from a job. Wesley cares about how you feel and makes sure that he leaves his jobs with his customers happy and satisfied. This guy goes above and beyond for everything. Amazing company and an even more amazing owner. Highly recommend.
We highly recommend Wes! We used Wesley Graves Designs to update the look of our landscaping at our dental office as well as to add additional parking behind our office. We are thrilled with our results. Our newly designed landscaping gives our office a much more modern look. The parking lot expansion is perfect. Both projects were planned, installed and executed quickly and without any issues.
Wes has done an excellent job over the years getting our landscaping up to par at our house and I couldn't be more pleased with how things turned out.
Really good experience overall. Wes came out quickly, was helpful in answering questions, and very professional. The work was also scheduled and finished very fast. Will definitely use again for future projects.
****6/21 Update****** After further discussion, Wesley and I have come to an agreement that we are both comfortable with. We wish Wesley the best. - Homeowners beware what started off as a dream plan turned into a nightmare quickly. Wesley is by far the worse business owner we have done business with. He promised us a $65K dream but never delivered after he took our money. He kept sharing his personal business (which I won t share here) as to why he wasn t able to deliver on his contractual obligation instead of completely our project. It got to a point we could predict when we knew he was going to call for additional money. Within minutes of us writing a check, it was cashed. Seemed like he was very desperate for money but never delivered. His lack of communication was most frustrating. He quoted us a 15 day project timeline and it s been many months and he is still not completed. If you want someone that will lie to your face, take your money, select the cheapest flowers & plants call Wesley Graves Deigns. He will gladly take your money! We live in a 40+ year old home and it was sad to see the outside overgrown. I needed help and a plan to bring it back. Westley was able to work with my ideas to come up with drawings and let us see what the end would be. He worked inside our budget and brought the home from average at best to the best looking yard on the block. Thanks Westley.
We had Wes and his team install artificial turf at one of our facilities playgrounds and they did an outstanding job and we love the product! Id recommend Wes s team to everyone!

I used Wesley Graves Designs to design a landscape for my front yard flower bed. It was perfect. The plants are beautiful and have withstood the horrible heat we have had to endure in the Dallas/Rockwall area. I noticed today that the pretty lantana plants are attracting a large number of butterflies, which are beautiful. I will use Wesley Graves Designs again. I highly recommend them for any and all landscaping needs.
I contracted Mr. Graves for a commercial project. The plans developed were low quality. They were returned late. They were missing key information and when I tried to contact Mr. Graves about the work, he ignored all emails and phone calls. I had actually thought he had gone out of business because of how unresponsive he was. I only know he is still operational because of the email spam I am now receiving.
Added an outdoor living area on the west side of our pool. Provided a usable space and entertainment area. Feels like we added another room to our home. Beautiful structure.
Our back yard was very boring but Wes and his crew changed all that! He rendered a design that really spoke to our personality. I am happy to say that now our backyard has character and a place we will enjoy hanging with family and friends. Thanks Wes you delivered on your design and we could not be happier.
Wesley Graves years of experience showed up in every aspect of my backyard landscaping project. He showed up the day after I called. He quickly understood my landscaping vision of lighting, need for decorative fencing and the type plants that would be beautiful year round. Within the week, his team had completed the job. The clean up afterwards was impeccable. Now, my backyard is gorgeous!

When we called Wesley for a quote on our backyard he was very responsive. In a week, we had our backyard regraded, new sod installed and our irrigation system updated. His crew worked quickly and did a great job! Ours was a small job, but we wont hesitate to call him again with our next landscape project!
Wesley helped us come up with a needed solution for a drainage problem, especially during heavy rains. His design and his team were outstanding. They not only did the work well, but theyre clean up and attention to detail were great. Im already talking to Wesley about an outdoor kitchen design.
I reached out to Wes with some rough ideas and styles for my backyard, and within a few hours he had replied and was clearly excited about the direction. Soon, he had a digital concept back to me, and my wife and I were just blown away! We then went to check out one of his other jobs, and seeing the quality of his work we immediately signed on! Moving along the project, Wes managed it like a brilliant tactician! The project moved quickly even when I kept throwing curve balls at him, adding extra projects, and asking lots of questions. We ultimately came away with a project that truly changed our backyard drastically, and made it a resort-like experience for my family and I. Theres not one person that isnt absolutely stunned when they see our yard, and they all ask for details. I wouldnt hesitate to engage Wes again for projects, and I hope others wont either. Wes is incredibly talented, and a lot of fun to work with!
We used Graves Lawn and Landscaping when we built our home. We had them put in an irrigation system as well as grass and Landscaping. We have asked several times for a map oh the irrigation system and after three years still do not have one. We have a tree that died within the warrant period. I call Wes and he said he would replace it. That was months ago and it still has not been replaced. Now, he is not returning phone calls or texts. He might do good designs, but his lack of customer service will really hurt his business. I would not use them again.
I was dreading trying to find a trustworthy landscaper to overhaul the exterior of our rental home. I definitely lucked out finding Graves. Wesley, the owner, was very responsive and incredibly easy to deal with. They actually completed the work a couple days sooner than they originally quoted. These guys are fantastic. Solid 5 stars from me!

Company came out to give me an estimate, Told them I when I had to have the quote by. They told me not a problem. The morning after I needed the quote by I noticed I still do not have it. I called and left a message and never got a phone call back. I call an hour before going into my meeting to discuss the landscaping and was then told that they could not give my a quote, that they were still working on it. Company said they could do it and did not hold up to their word! I work for a man who owns 11 rental properties and is in process of buying 20 more by the end of this year. This could have been a good size contract to get.
