Founded in 1999, Nature’s Friends Landscaping has proudly served many areas of Montgomery County for nearly 20 years. Owner Cliff Bressler has been in the landscaping business since 1985, yet you can still find him active in every aspect of the work we do, and involved at every job site. We used Natures Friends for several projects: build a large stone patio, replant a lawn, and build a gated wood fence. Cliff was good. He went over each project with us and the people who work with him, and was on site to inspect the work. He workers were careful and good. Cliff always answered the phone when we had questions. The work was done when promised and the price was fair.
The downspouts in the back of my yard had no run from their termination points, and the one that did collapsed a few weeks ago. I contacted Nature’s Friends to sort out my issues and Cliff was over at my house in no time. He talked through any prior water retention issues I had, and came up with a plan to future proof our house from any flooding that could happen with big storms. The crew were back out within a few days and executed the plan as Cliff specified. The laborers placed one of the pop-ups a little too close to the house, and without any intervention, the day-of-supervisor spoke with me to let me know they would extend it according to plan, and corrected everything. They also replaced my sump pump, which was not the easiest thing due to a seized grate closure (see pics), and at a fraction of the price quoted by plumbers. I was really impressed with how quick everything was completed, and for a job like this (digging long trenches to run PVC), my yard looks nearly immaculate. They gave me instructions to heal the grass patches so my lawn would look as it did before in no time. After the work was done, Cliff reached out to make sure all was working well when it rained. I highly recommend reaching out to Nature’s Friend for any of your needs — you can tell they really care about their customers, and I will be reaching out to them for any future landscaping needs.
I had a phenomenal experience with Cliff. He connected me with an excellent landscape architect that he works with who designed a gorgeous and complex design for me. Cliff executed this enormous project with confidence, expertise, and enthusiasm. The project was completed on time, and the results exceeded my expectations. Cliff communicated with me consistently throughout the process, and he and his team worked diligently to execute the project to perfection. I hired Cliff to remove one tree and trim several others that were infringing on my property and that could cause serious damage to my house in the event of a strong storm. Throughout the rapid process, Cliff was one of the most efficient, capable and communicative contractors I’ve had the pleasure of working with. We hired Cliff and team for our backyard landscaping project, which includes remodeling and expanding the backyard patio, rerouting all downspouts and water flow, as well as putting in more plants. Cliff (Nature's Friends Landscaping) and his team have, at various different times, performed yard grading, landscaping, installed drainage systems, and installed concrete, and it's long overdue that I leave a review to share my positive experience in working with Cliff. Cliff's work has always been high quality, done on time, and within budget (which were very fair and competitive rates to begin with). Each of these projects was done under very time sensitive schedules, and somehow Cliff made it happen. Cliff is very professional, as are his crew, and it has been a pleasure working with him, and I am sure I will be calling him again in the future.
I can't say enough positive things about our experience with Cliff and his company. We contacted him in the fall because we were having some persistent and worsening drainage problems in the yard at our (new to us) house. First, Cliff came out to our house several times in good and bad weather to help us identify the sources of the persistent drainage issues in our yard, which turned out to be caused in large part by runoff from our roof. Then, Cliff worked with the county permitting office to develop and revise plans to address our drainage issues. Though Cliff had to make multiple trips to the permitting office to adjust the plans as the county required, he was able to obtain the permits without any effort from us at all which was much appreciated. Since the drainage solution required digging, we also decided to include new stonework in the plans. Cliff and Elman, his stone guy, made several additional trips out to our house to help us come up with plans for the new stone walkway and small patio. We also had Elman rebuild the walls around our small fish pond and another garden bed as part of this work. We were worried that the work would damage the pond liner or equipment, but Elman's crew was not only extremely careful but also really masterful in their craft. The pond was put back together better much than before, and we couldn't be happier. The flagstone walkways also turned out beautifully. Once the walkways were completed, Cliff and his crew came back to level our yard and install sod, grass seed, and plants. We're new to gardening and Cliff helped us choose plants that would work well in our landscape. The process started in the fall but we didn't have the work done until the spring. Cliff checked in with us routinely to see how the yard was holding up and continues to check in to make sure the new drainage solution is meeting our needs and that the grass and plants are coming in nicely now that the work is complete. He's extremely responsive and we are so very happy that we chose him for this project. Not to mention we've had neighbor after neighbor stopping by to compliment the work and ask for referrals! Thank you so much Cliff for working with us at our pace to bring this project to life!!
Natures Friends Landscaping (in Rockville, Md) pretty much hit the jackpot for us in terms of what we d want from a landscaper. Friendly, responsive, timely (on time but calling ahead to let us know anyway), good value, and a job performed in a way that if anything exceeded our expectations. What more could one ask for? I definitely recommend this company based on our experience.
Cliff & his guys did a great job moving and removing quite a bit of in-ground hardscaping, a front yard of sod, and a handful of small trees so that we could start planting our garden. The work, which had a lot of different parts, got done quickly, and we so appreciate the care and speed with which it all got done. Highly recommend and will definitely call these folks in the future for any landscaping needs.
I contacted Cliff in early spring to give me an estimate on landscaping and other work. From that moment on Cliff did exactly what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it. Hed text me the day we were meeting and let me know he was on his way and 5 minutes out. When he said hes get back to me with a proposal he did. When he told me it would be late May/early June before he could complete the work, he was accurate...except he came mid May. He and his crew did a landscape design, retaining wall, drainage system and the planting as well as spring clean up. He is incredibly easy to work with and does great work! You wont be disappointed if you hire him.

It was a pleasure working with Cliff and his team at Natures Friends on a recent home project. They came to rescue my yard from flooding caused by improper discharge of a sump pump and multiple down spouts. He came to my home several times to provide an estimate and walk through all of the work that would be completed so I was comfortable with proceeding. Work started promptly after I scheduled the job and was completed in a day and a half. They are knowledgeable, reasonably priced, responsive, and do very thorough and detailed work. I appreciated getting texts before anyone came onto my property and the level of care used to complete the job. Ill definitely be using their services again for future projects. Cliff and his team did an amazing job turning my backyard into my dream outdoor space. They put in a patio, retaining wall beautiful stairs and a walkway. Thank you so much for solving my hillside drainage and water erosion issues! From start to finish, Nature s Friends inspired confidence and provided creative and cost-effective solutions for many long-standing issues in my yard. They did a beautiful job ripping out overgrowth, building stone retaining walls, installing a drain catch and new drainpipes to manage water, and prepping the new beds for planting. Cliff s team was very skilled and easy to work with and Cliff managed the project daily. When Cliff and his team found additional erosion issues under my deck, they were able to design small timber retaining walls on the spot without additional cost or project delay. I feel so fortunate to have found Nature s Friends and am truly grateful for the whole team. My backyard was transformed into a beautiful space and I will be using them in the future for additional yard projects. This company performs above and beyond. I am so pleased with the work. They cleaned all my beds of unwanted weeds, volunteer trees that had gotten pretty big, ivy and the dreaded bamboo that grows from my neighbors yard. They trimmed all the bushes, removed a holly tree and mulched. Cleanup was immaculate. On top of all that, Cliff and his crew are great to work with. My yard was an embarrassment with literally years worth unraked leaves, untrimmed bushes, fallen sticks and whole tree limbs I just never got around to picking up. Once the bushes got to a point where I felt the mailman was probably poking himself every time he stepped on to my front porch, I knew I had to call a professional. Im SO happy I chose Natures Friends Landscaping. Cliff came out within a day of my asking, walked the property, assessed what really needed to get done to give me a fresh start on taking care of my yard, quoted me a reasonable price and told me when hed be able to do the work. Every bit of it went exactly to plan. His crew showed up at 6:30 a.m. this morning, exactly when hed said they would, worked non-stop all day, and did precisely what wed agreed to. The yard looks better than it did when I bought the house, and the guys who did the work were so careful to preserve the few things I cared about, like my black-eyed Susans that Id mentioned a sentimental attachment to. When they finished, Cliff came back out, I wrote him a check for exactly the price hed told me it would be, and they cleaned everything up perfectly and left. I couldnt be happier. The work was well done, the process was clear and efficient, and the communication around all of it was easy and timely.
Natures Friends Landscaping first worked on my yard in February of 2017. They cleared an atrocious amount of ivy off the ground and growing on 1/3 of the house. They also mowed the lawn, edged the driveway and trimmed the bushes, all for a reasonable price. I called on them again this past week (February 2018) to clear out a huge amount of debris that previous tenants had left on the property, plus a full years worth of debris (seedlings, leaves, huge branches). They cut down and/or pulled up treelings, cleaned the patio and the driveway, and hauled off 40 tarps of debris. All of this for a reasonable price. Cliff always kept me up-to-date on all the details of his work. Very courteous and conscientious. Thanks again, Cliff!

Cliff and his team did a great job cleaning up our front and backyards and made everything look perfect. Super responsive and easy to work with, which is actually quite hard to find from what I experienced in a prior search for a landscaper. They arrived at our house early, worked fast, and went above and beyond what was in the estimate. Our house exterior looks significantly better and were excited to have a plant bed ready for a vegetable garden, thanks to their help. Highly recommend.

Were very glad to have found Cliff and his team. We started the season with a mess in the yard, over a year + of overgrowth and weeds, and a dead tree, and Cliff and his guys did a fantastic job getting rid of (and hauling away) all the dead/volunteer stuff, trimming everything and putting down fresh mulch when they were done. It was not inexpensive, but it was well worth it, as it looked like a different house. Now we have them coming by for regular upkeep of the yard, and its always a treat to come home from work to a mowed lawn. Cliff is a refreshing mix of thorough, reliable and laid back, and were happy to have Natures Friends as our lawn/landscaping service.
Natures Friend completely transformed our back yard. Cliff and his team were amazing, efficient, flexible and produced some great work. My husband and I bought a house recently and knew we would have to do extensive work on the backyard in terms of drainage. With all the rain this fall it got wrecked. Cliff came over immediately, assessed the situation, and got to work. Within 3 days we had an estimate for the work and a time estimate on when they could get started. The first day they showed up they said they were just going to do prep work. We came home expecting to see our yard dug up, but instead we came home and it looked like nothing had been done. Upon further inspection they had finished the drainage on an entire side of the house! Including an extra job we had thrown in there to tie in a drain from our window well. It just continued from there. The guys were all so nice and cleaned up after every day. They finished a ridiculous amount of work in 1 week. To say that and say it was great quality work is something you dont come across every day. The problem areas have gone away completely, and it looks fantastic. Highly recommend!

I emailed Natures Friends about a small job of removing three boxwood shrub stumps from my front yard. Cliff emailed me promptly the next morning and stopped by my house while I was at work to look at the situation. He was able to give me a competitive estimate that day. They came the following morning and the job was done, including yard debris removal, in less than an hour. Cliff and his crew were pleasant, well mannered and professional. He even stayed for a few mins and chatted with me about my garden project and the plants I had selected (I am a total novice!). Overall a great experience.
