This is the beginning of our 3rd year with them and our lawn used to be mostly weeds, saw a huge improvement in the first year and now we have a beautiful lawn! So many flowering weeds that had our lawn covered in bees that we used to get stung by accidentally stepping on them - haven t had that issue for 3yrs now! Bees stick to pollinating our fruits and veggies instead!

I have used Lawn Doctor for the past 5 years including a small, enclosed gate area and I have been pleased. They show up with a night before phone call. If a problem should arise, they respond and follow up immediately (missed the little area once) came back within an hour and never forgot again. I would highly recommend them, and they are priced way much better than what you get in the mail/big companies and if you pay annually, you get a free root booster. All staff are friendly and pay attention to what you are saying and leave your premises neat and orderly, and my lawn looks great.

Weve been using Lawn Doctor a long time. I love supporting a locally owned business. The staff is friendly and professional, the service is excellent, and the quality is fantastic. Were continually kept in the loop regarding what to expect. We get a call before theyre coming and a receipt following with the services performed along with incidental things they noticed and treated along the way. A while back we thought we could save a buck by buying the bags of treatment and applying them ourselves, but in the end, the cost difference is negligible and the time spent applying and treating various issues is simply not worth it. Having a professional assess the lawn and treat problem spots, returning to treat them if they come back is more cost effective and less of a headache in the end. Gladly will continue to recommend this business.

WE did business with a large pest control company that ruined our lush weed free yard in one year by applying way to much fertilizer in one area of our yard by leaving the spreader door open while unlatching a gate and thereby killing the grass which meant that I had to dig up and remove the sod ,put down new soil and completely reseed. No calls to them resulted in any help at all. This business has gotten our yard back to good shape in one short year and we will have them again in2023 and see great results 2023 updates Yard looks great and the former problem with creeping Charlie weed seems to be gone.I know they do over seeding but wish that they did reseeding also

The Lawn Doctor has proven over several years of Lawn Service and my Second Year of Snowblowing and I stand extremely satisfied with their Dependability, Service Quality, Pre-Notification of their Services, and the Staff Assistance (Holly) for her professionalism and Customer Service - - I was with another national franchise for my lawn service for many seasons prior to the Lawn Doctor and they were just too big to provide the service that I expected - Snow Plowers started out great but then contracted to persons who tore up my lawn and had no desire to take responsibility for it - The Lawn Doctor s Snowblowing service is quiet, concise, and dependable, without any lawn damage or huge mounds of snow causing visibility problems - Yes, I could not ask for better seasonal service. - W

Absolutely the best weve ever had. Our lawn was weeds, cliver and crabgrass. It is now lush and green with no weeds. When its mowed it looks like velvet. We are so pleased. Due to budget (fixed income) we are going to skip one year but we will recommence next year with Lawn Doctor and noone else. I hope you understand. We love you guys!

I was mowing weeds until I contracted with Lawn Doctor last year. My grass now is lush, thick and weed free. I especially like that Lawn Doctor doesnt use liquid spray. The dry fertilizer applications provide excellent coverage with no burned out spots. Devon, the applicator, was very professional and answered my questions to my satisfaction. Their pricing is about the same as it would be if I bought the fertilizer and applied it myself. I definitely recommend Lawn Doctor!

I used the lawn doctor last year and now I have more weeds this year. They came in with a riding machine that spread the killer on the yard. Problem is it did not spread well near the fence, deck and pool. Also a little hill has weeds growing due to the machine not getting the killer on it. The employee should of realized that they needed to figure a solution for those areas.

We used Lawn Doctor for weed control and really liked the outcome. We were very happy with how fast the weeds disappeared. Although the weeds do not fully disappear, the regular treatments helped keep them at bay. Very happy with their professional service. Only thing I would have liked is for me to know the schedule a little earlier (about a week earlier-which understandably can be tough to say) so that I could plan my other lawn activities accordingly.

We initially called Lawn Doctor because they offer organic options. With a creek nearby and pets, that was important. For the last 5 years, our lawn looks better & better each year, having used the aeration, overseeding & weed control services. They call the day before they come. . . very convenient as I can then monitor my dog, on the grass, for a day or two after. Ive been home for a couple of the visits and them do a completely thorough job. I will definitely be using them again for 2023!

We have had Lawn Doctor do our lawn service for over 5 years now. After a number of years before with other lawn services and disappointing results its been nice to see an improving lawn and to get compliments from the neighbors. They have always done a nice job for us.

The thing I like best about using the Lawn Doctor is that I am not getting a different person coming to evaluate my lawn or perform services every time, like some of their competitors that I have used previously. So I dont have to keep re-explaining any issues I have had or what I am looking to accomplish. They seem very knowledgeable, and communication is very good, again, unlike some of their competitors. I use them mostly for weed control/fertilization, but I have also had them do seeding and pest control. I always get an automated call the day before they schedule an application, and they are very good about rescheduling pretty quickly if I let them know that day is not convenient because I want to mow the lawn first, for example.

Very happy with the results! This is the first time we ve treated our lawn and we could absolutely see the difference over the season. We had one weed killer treatment and the rest were organic. We plan to do the same thing next year.

Our hardscape installer, who also runs a mowing service, recommended them. According to him, all the best looking lawns he mows are being treated by Lawn Doctor. We gave them a shot and have utilized their services for two years now. We are very happy with how our lawn looks and our interactions with their staff. We switched from a national service that we had become very disappointed with and Lawn Doctor has made a huge difference at a much lower cost - especially for aeration with over-seeding. That was literally a third of the price of the prior company plus you can actually see the grass seed. We have a fenced yard and a dog and they always notify us early enough to accommodate him and have never damaged the fence or left the gate open. Our lawn is green and rich and healthy - enough so that 2 neighbors are now clients too. We highly recommend them.

When we moved here in 2019 the lawn was loaded with weeds. The neighbors on our street all had great lawns. I did not want us to be THAT house! I called Lawn Doctor and set up a plan for our lawn. It took a while for the first service, but I believe that is because we started late in the Season, and it wasnt the correct time for the treatment we needed. I was with another company at our old address and I could swear our weeds actually got worse after treatment for a whole year! Anyway, Winter came, then Covid! I was pleased to see my lawn looking so much healthier in the Spring. Not perfect, but highly improved. This year I am blown away! My lawn is thick, green, and has little, to no visible weeds. I am 100% pleased with the service I have received so far. I highly recommend Lawn Doctor. Its hard to find good value for your money these days. I feel as if this is money well spent!

My lawn was a disaster. I had tons of weeds etc and knew that I needed a lawn service. I decided on Rochester Lawn Doctor because they re locally owned, had good reviews and are reasonable. I had them last year and renewed them for this year. My lawn is doing much better. And anytime I ve had to call the office, the office staff is very polite and responsive. I would definitely recommend them!

I have had Lawn Doctor for many years for both shubbery and lawn. Not too sure about the shrubbery and it is no longer offered. I like the staff especally Kristen. However, they never seemed to completely control the dandelions. My neighbors lawn which he treats himself always looks better than ours and last year especially we had a lot of bare spots. It looked good from 20 feet away but not when you were right on top of it. I no longer cut our grass so was not paying too much attention but my wife who does all our gardening is always complaining about the yards appearance. I have paid in advance for 2020 so I am going to continue as am loath to try a new service but I wish we had better results. Another comment is that seldom does anyone ask who does your lawn.

We used them in 2019 for lawn treatment service. Our lawn was in good condition and we wanted to maintain it. Our lawn is now in horrible condition now with lots of damage. I don t believe the treatments were ever done. I have had numerous other companies out and they have stated that in no way was the grub control truly used. Going to cost me a lot to repair now. The owner told me he would come out to look at it but did not show up. He told me that they have a guarantee and could reseed but again he never showed up to look at it. I called last year at the end of the season and again this year and nothing. Be careful if you use them.

Customer service isnt. The name on the account is Edgar Begy my 85 year old father. They never sent him paperwork to sign. Never tried to contact him about not getting this paperwork back that they didnt send him. Customer service was no help. Asked to talk to a supervisor so we could get it fixed. It took days for a supervisor to call me back. They said it was all set and when the worker got to the house he was going to put the wrong stuff down and it would of damaged the lawn. Called again and it took days for someone to get back to me. They refuse to refund his money for the server that was not provided.

Finally, a wonderful experience with a lawn company !!! Our last lawn service company had done a decent job, until being bought out. We then had a variety of issues, none the less, the lawn looked awful and they refused to even come check out the issues. We gave up, and tried to do it ourselves for 2 years. Well, we definitely made the issue worse. Thats when I called Lawn Doctor. Their reviews were good and we liked giving business to a local company again. We were not disappointed. Over the past few months, they have contacted us ahead as requested, showed up as expected, been beyond professional and friendly and the end result is a happy customer and a lawn that is on its way to looking good. And a complete shock is when I call them, they answer !!! We are so happy with their service and cant wait to see how good our lawn looks next summer. Thank you Lawn Doctor !!

See 10/2019 Update below how we went from 5 to 1 star Zero if I could. 3 years ago: I have had Lawn Dr for quite a few years. We have also had other major lawn service providers with mixed results. It is not the name of the company it is the local franchise operator who makes it a sucess. The previous owner X was not doing a good job for us and we were considering a change. A the new owner of the franchise personally came out and took care of many of the problems from the previous owner. Maintaining us as a client was very important to him and overcoming the poor reputation of the previous owner was paramount to his future success. I recommend them highly and if the current owner A started a different lawn service i would follow. Its the people not the Brand that make the difference. UPDATE 10/2019 New owner seems to fallen into the pattern of the previous owner sad to say . After he snow plowed the 2018/ 2019 winter and needed to repair the lawn damage in the spring trouble started. Throwing a handful of seed on top of dried up , plowed up sod clumps left on top of the lawn was the repair. When we called the Lawn Doctor Lawn Service office to complain about (same phone / address) LWNDR plowing we were reluctantly told it was A the owner who made the repair. No one followed up or came out finally I called A directly and he became very agitated and said he had lots of more important things to do. Fine I repaired it myself. Through the spring and summer of 2019 they continued to provide lawn treatment service (prepaid) and even solicited extra cost Aeration sevices. All the time knowing he was not going to send us a new Snow Plow contract for the winter even though he sent them to 3 close neighbors. When we called to check K in his office after much dancing around said she would have to ask A if he wanted to renew us after last years BIG BREW HAHA her words. We called back to leave a message to cancel future aeration (un paid) because now they wouldnt take our calls. So since last spring the owner has been seething in his anger determined to get even by not giving us notice of our need to find a new provider for plowing at the last minute. My wife and are are both Seniors and depend on a plowing service since we can no longer do it ourselves. If this is the type of person you want to business with I can only say you have been warned. We contacted Lawn Doctor Franchise corporate in NJ but claim plowing is not part of their program. When their franchicee uses LAWN DOCTOR for lawns and LWNDR for snow I think he can only further damage their brands value. We will no longer recommend or use Lawn Doctor annaul lawn treatment program, what did they expect?

They did good service but am very upset with a reestimate on my news house (much smaller yard). They price didnt go down. The reason was that my old yard was underestimated. I question the estimate process. It seems arbitrary and fixed to suit the needs to get the bill how they want. Had no interest in retaining me as a customer.

No notice they came this morning and actually started spreading and kept spreading while I had both my dogs outside on the lawn. Horrible customer service. Had to call my dogs in while he kept spreading! Awful

Why would anybody hire a lawn care company that missed two weeks of time for an initial customized estimate appointment? They claim to have come end of Friday though there had been zero communications, no notice and they arrived after 4pm Friday. Going to a wake trumps no communication anytime. Not a good enough response! This laxity of communications is way too prominent these days.

Yard Armor service is excellent! Peace of mind being a proud dad to three Dogs. This is my first year using Yard Armor for mosquito and tick control. A very mild winter and extra wet spring had me on guard for a upTick in mosquitos, ticks, and other pests... I looked at all the other local and national chains and it was the locally owned company that won out... more so than locally owned was that the solution they use is natural (most important aspect for me) and safe for pets, kids, and bees. The customer service is also outstanding. I have had multiple technicians out so far... and I watched as they took pride in their work. I really appreciate the great service, truly an outstanding local company.

Yes, Lawn Doctor is a National Brand but it is locally owned by someone who grew up in Penfield (Adam) & locally operated by someone who grew up in the city of Rochester (Me). We want our customers to be happy and we want their grass to be healthy & green. We offer what the other guys cant- personalized customer service and the best products available. (thank you)

These guys are awesome - from the lawn treatments/recommendations for improvements to the customer service provided by the office. We moved to a new home 2 years ago - lawn was in REALLY BAD condition. Today ... it looks really nice. At a party this past summer, our friends commented on our plush lawn. And ... when I call the office, Kristin is always super kind and takes the time to listen to my questions and provides sound advice for how to care for the troublesome (shady) spots in our lawn.

The first couple treatments went well. A treatment in October was cancelled but Lawn Doctor decided to do the treatment anyway in November without my permission. Lawn ended up being burned and had other companies claim it was due to a bad application. They would not waive the charge even though the services were not requested.

I moved to a new house and used Lawn Doctor to fix up/seed a damaged lawn, plus also fertilize the lawn. Lawn Doctor was able to recommend and apply the appropriate service for my needs and was prompt and courteous. Thank you for making my lawn nice for my kids to play on! Appreciate it!

I have had Lawn Doctor of Rochester(Group 14621) for about 7 years now and have had nothing but great results from them. If I wasnt satisfied with any treatment I would just call the office and they would rectify the problem with either another application or if weeds popped up they would come down and spray them dead for no extra charge. Would highly recommend them for a very healthy,green lawn.
