Weed Man in Richmond

I switched from Virginia Green to Weedman in 2024 and now my yard is full of weeds ,and I am treating my self to get ride of it. I reported this and no action from their side. Only reminder or communication I get from weedman is on invoices. Never recommend this this business to anyone.

I called and scheduled my appointment for 2 from the date I called. I was told that they were fully booked and wouldn’t be able to come out for 2 weeks anyways. They came out the very next day and tried to charge me. When I spoke to the person who showed up. They had no idea what I was referring to. The service was fantastic however, the lack of communication is concerning.

Their treatments work. The challenge is their ability to effective communicate. They did not provide a schedule of treatment. While an automated system called the night before, there was no way to reach someone when the date is a problem. They also do not follow directions. I will be looking for a new service next year right after they make good on the irrating and seeding that they did while I was away and could not water it.

I’m typically skeptical when using new services and being that this was my first time caring enough about my lawn to hire a lawn care service, I was even more skeptical than usual. Weed Man has exceeded my expectations and always does their best to ensure the job is done correctly. They are transparent, well informed, and responsive. I appreciate that they volunteer information regularly and provide a reason for the services I receive and any suggested add-ons. I respect the fact that they don’t make you feel pressured to do/buy anything but will explain the case/reasoning and leave it up to you to further research and make the decision. Clay and Brian are typically the ones who manage my yard; they take the job seriously and are always a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend this local company that isn’t a nationwide mess.

Originally a great company. Not the case anymore. Recently, ownership has changed hands and it is obvious. At the beginning of the year I never heard from them and in April I contacted them to see when they would be out for my first service as I felt they should have already been out. They apologized and informed me new ownership and some things slipped. No worries I said and they set me up for the rest of the year. They used to be very personable and talked to me about my lawn every time they were at my home. They would talk through brown patches, bald spots, insect issues, etc. Now, I'm lucky if they even knock to let me know they are there. The latest issue is they were supposed to be at my house on 9/12 but then I didn't hear from them for several days after. It was only after I contacted them that they informed me when they would be out. Over a week went by and still nothing. Contacted them again and they told me that week they would be out. Nothing again and then finally after almost a month past the original date they finally came. I understand an agreement with them to pay on time but was 1 day late and the tack on a service fee. They can be a month late and nothing but I'm a day late and get charged??? Yeah, no thanks. Also, upped my monthly application charge for next year by $30 a time. Hard pass for next year.

I switched to Weedman from Virginia Green early this year. I used to use them and they were pretty good. My yard looks terrible and a portion of it is dead. I called 5 weeks ago and asked for an owner to call me. I was told they were busy and it could take 5 days and I said fine. It’s been 5 weeks now with no call. I have called once each week for the last 3 weeks asking why an owner hasn’t called me and told they were busy. They said a manager would call me back. Still nobody has called. I called again today and the person said he would make sure a manger called me back today and no call. I added pictures of my yard They apparently don’t care about their customers. I see the owner responded to call their office to discuss but there is the problem. I have called several times as I previously mentioned also asking to speak with an owner but after being told I would receive a call from management, nobody ever calls. That is why I felt i needed to do this review.

Their customer service is excellent. We had an unfortunate experience with a weed application that degraded our lawn and we could not get a lawn advisor advice before any other application to move forward. I work hard to establish and maintain a healthy lawn. The Weed Man was not able to provide timely assistance to maintain our goal of a healthy lawn. I would still recommend the company. Just be aware that you'd have to stay in contact with them for your goal.

My lawn was really bad and got worse as I tried to do it myself. I had to call someone I came across weed Man and Bam my lawn became plush green and as you can see from the picture the lawn across the street use to be my lawn. Thank you weed Man. Very Happy Customer!
