Our property was well maintained by Virginia Green. Our lawn never looked so good

When you call and get mgmt involved things are always taken care of.....but I should not have to do that.

It has helped my lawn somewhat, but you always suggest something else I need. It is never enough your trees need fertilizer, your lawn needs more lime, add more insulation to your attic, etc. It seems like there is very little covered for what you are paying.

VA Green has been transforming our lawn for two years and it looks so good! Great company to work with!

Virginia Green has done an excellent job with my yard!! I have a neighbor that has nothing but weeds and every year it traveled into my yard. Virginia Green has taken care of that problem for over 5 years now!! I used to lose a bush here are there but not since Virginia Green started treating my trees and bushes. The are an A+ company so if you have a problem with your yard...Virginia Green will take care of it!!

2nd time in 2 years they came out to areate and broke a sewer pipe and said nothing. No way they did not know. Left 4 ft wheel skid mark and 3 ft bald spot. They came after it poured down. Had already rained for 2 days. No manager to speak to. Someone had to rach out to me tomorrow. So I am inconvenient

I am edited my response to this point. I met with Ryan on my property and am happy with the dialogue and our plan moving forward to rectify the issues I have had, much are due to historic rainfall and moisture. Thank You Virginia Green for promptly and professionally addressing my concerns. If the plan falls through then obviously review will change, but I have confidence in the approach moving forward!

Ever since Larry sold this business and they merged with Virginia Green this business has become horrible! From the people never answering the phone to there horrible attitudes when problems arise. When the owner was there the treatments were done correctly and when there was issues in the past he would address them correctly and promptly. Now that he is gone Kim is full of excuses and knows nothing about customer service. She is only worried about her self. Do yourself a favor and contact Tru Green they are bye far light years ahead of these idiots at Virginia Green. Cole the individual from Virginia Green who thinks he is a manager is full of S!@#... and on numerous occasions he tried making excuses for various issues. His latest problem solving resolution was to tell me to use round up in my yard instead of sending a technician to deal with there horrible crab grass control. It is very obvious that NOT only is there no customer service but everyone at this company makes excuses. Heather.. Kim and Cole are useless. Also if you want to save money Tru Green is over 100$ less with seeding and arriation. In other words DO NOT USE Virginia Green or LSL lawn care they are NOT capable of doing the work correctly or dealing with customers correctly! Kim and Cole should be fired ASAP!

They have taken care of my front and backyard for four years. My lawn is the envy of the whole neighborhood. It is beautiful, front and backyard. Highly recommend them.

Treatments helped to remove weeds that overtook my grass each year and seeding and aeration did the rest . Tips on how to cut grass, how to get rid of unwanted moss and correct watering resulted in a beautiful healthy, full lawn this year that I am proud of. My neighbor asked who cared for my lawn so I referred her.

My yard looks much better than before I used Virginia Green. Its nice not having to keep bags of fertilizer (or half full bags) around in my garage. I dont have to worry about when its time to apply fertilizer, etc or take half a day in a weekend to do it. The technicians have been great and I have no complaints.

We bought a house that had been neglected for quite a while. With VA Green, the yard is finally coming back and looking amazing! It s taken a full year, but totally worth it!

We had our home built and the builder put seed and straw in the backyard. Needless to say, we had tons of weeds growing in the back - hardly any grass growing. We hired Virginia Green to do a lawn renovation, which consists of several steps. Just 10 days ago, we had them come out to do the aeration and seeding and wow, within a week we started seeing young baby grass covering our lawn. I was pretty skeptical as our lawn was pretty dried and bare, but wow, I couldnt believe my eyes. They are very professional; each time they will leave letters detailing what they did today and instructions for you to follow. We followed the instructions and wow, the results so far has been amazing!

Bro, I can smell yall 3 neighborhoods away. The number one sign of spring in all the suburbs, the smell of literal lawn toxins. Like does whatever extra stuff you are doing really have to smell that bad? Y all should have a warning on the weather app too, just like the Canadian wild fires we had last year that way I ll know to wear my hazmat suit when I go for a walk outside because the air quality will be similar to Chernobyl in 1986. I m sure your customer service is good tho

I missed a few payments and just got a collection letter so here s my review. Tried them for 3 years .yard looks the same and they charge $50 more than TruGreen for monthly and $300 more for aeration. They never did the backyard, but charge full price. I know they don t because I have a tricky fence, and haven t helped them get back there not once.

I called last fall to cancel my service but I m getting repeated phone calls saying they are still coming to my property to spray this year. It s almost like the person I spoke with last fall completely ignored my request to end service and now this company is wasting my time by making me explain this all over again. Poor business practice if you ask me.

This company did miracles to my daughters grass in Richmond.

This company bought Project Green and has completely bait and switched our services. They do not notify us when they are coming to spray, and our yard smells like chemicals/chlorine/indoor pool/toxic for hours after one of their unannounced visits. The smell is so strong that I am worried to allow my dogs in the yard after they show up. I am an organic and native plant gardener and I am not interested in these services and did not agree or sign anything to have the products used on my yard changed. I have called to cancel and receive a refund ASAP, there is no option to do so on the website. This is not an environmentally friendly company. Products/environment aside, my lawn does not even look any different or better, so please do not waste your time with these people.

Never again! I ve been taking care of my lawn for years until I decided to have VG take it over. I had them for the 11 month program, aeration, and seed. Noticed they haven t been to my property in 2 months in the midst of the heat and peak weed season so, needless to say my lawn looks terrible. I call the office and they would not admit that they dropped the ball, no explanation on why my yard was neglected, and unwilling to fix the problem.

We switched from TruGreen to Virginia Green about two years ago and have been happy ever since. Not only have they helped our grass grow lush, they are responsive, knowledgeable, and results driven. I wish we had always used them!

Don t waste your money . They don t care about your lawn it s all about the money

I am struggling to keep doing business with them. This is my second year. Last year was challenging. They burned my vegetables and the lower branches of my low trees. This time, they burned part of the grass with an excess of fertilizer. I am debating if it is worth the trouble.

After purchasing project green added a surfactant to lawn treatment plan without communication and stopped pretreatment notifications. Ended service after one treatment. Update for VG Reply: The customer service rep stated that only herbicides and fertilizer was applied, a surfactant is neither. In addition, the surfactant carries with it a strong smell, that other reviewing customers have complained about, of which had never been the case when my yard was serviced by Project Green.

Ive had Virginia Green manage my lawn since July 2022. My lawn was plush and very green. A friend recommended using this company to make sure it stayed that way. A year later my entire front and back yard has burnt patches all over.

We have used Virginia Green for over a year. I haven t been unhappy with the results of their treatments. The lawn has looked good, and I don t need to think about it. In July, I ordered and paid for an aeration/ seeding service to be done in September. I specifically told them that I HAD to have this done in September. They originally had the date set for the week of September 4-8, but we went out of the country and were gone for 2 weeks, so I asked that it be done either September 18-22, or September 25-29. I even had my daughter call them while we were out of town to confirm a week with them. I got a email from Virginia Green that they set a time for the week of September 18. Today, after being told that Virginia Green wouldn t be able to do the service before October, I reread the email. Sure enough it says September 18. I scrolled past the first page on my tiny phone screen and it has a confirmation button that needed to be pushed. I didn t push it because I didn t read past the first page; I didn t realize I had to. In the meantime, I spent an extra $10 to my lawn service to mow the lawn shorter than usual, and dashed out to get flags to mark the sprinklers thinking that Virginia Green was going to aerate sometime this week. The service was never scheduled because I didn t confirm . (As if the money I paid them in July was not confirmation enough)! October is simply too late. I m very disappointed. So disappointed that I have ended ALL services with Virginia Green. The email with a mandatory hidden confirmation button was the final straw.

This is bad for business and workers in a Hurry and not finished the job but also destroyed my yard ! Was done yesterday!

Virginia Green just say aeration and seeding, they came to my yard and told only front yard is only covered which they never told when I booked the service and last year 2022 they did entire yard. They just put some seed here and there and just vanished in 10 min ,will not recommend them for aeration and seeding. Many areas were seeds not covered in my front yard. I called customer service and she agreed that full yard should had been covered as per system records since they do weed control for whole yard and she told they will definitely look in to it my concern but after that no response.

We have used Virginia Green for two years now with little issues including the seeding and aeration last year. This year however, the crew that performed the seeding and aeration damaged the yard and then the manager Corey who stopped by stated they do not consider this damage and it will grow back. This is what a $500 seeding and aeration job looks like from Virginia Green. Most unprofessional manager I have ever encountered and no repair or fix by Virginia Green. Buyer beware. Unfortunately the Google website is not uploading the photos. I will try again later.

Never again in my life will I use this company. They killed all my good grass After spending more than $3.5K with them. Big recurrent problem with this company, burnt grass, killed grass. Just check all the reviews below. They dont want to be responsible for it. And still trying to charge me for the last application that finished killing all my grass because they applied the chemicals on very hot days without rain. They sent their expert and all he said was its been a very hot summer They dont know the heck they are doing. It cost me $2700 to fix their mistake.

I have had aeration and seeding and the Plan Maintenance program since 2020 and have not seen any improvement in the quality of my lawn. I previously received letters at the beginning of the new new plan year offering a incentive to prepay for a slight reduction in cost. They treated my yard the past two years in early January without any notification or offer to prepay. Last year I called after the first service and was given the option to prepay. Since I have seen no improvement with my lawn I was planning on cancelling their service for this plan year. I feel they provide the services based on what is convenient for them and not at the optimal times for the lawn. The individual I spoke to stated they have gone paperless and that I was sent emails and then in his next next breath he stated he sees where a letter was mailed to me on 1/5/22. Kind of a contradiction from paperless. In my opinion the service is not worth the cost. I never had any issues with the lawn care staff I just have not seen any improvement in my lawn.

Virginia Green, (in my opinion) is just not as good as they used to be. Most folks in our community still use them, but some of us have decided to switch to a more environmentally oriented company. I grew tired of the disheveled, at times arrogant personnel they were sending out to provide service. This past fall, (after damaging and mangling my lawn during aeration) they were walking around flexing with their shirts off, just having a grand ol time. My lawn completely died from army worm, and they had no answer. I called repeatedly, sent emails, and asked workers to have someone contact me. They never got back to me. Ive had enough, and think they are going to start losing customers, many customers. Ive switched to PROJECT GREEN!!! THEY ARE LESS EXPENSIVE , AND SEEM TO GENUINELY CARE. Im very happy with them so far...

I used this company for three years and after they totally killed my yard (agronomist could not even explain what happened to my yard even though they were the only company who handled my lawn maintenance) they became frustrated with my calls to resolve the issue (without assuming any ownership as they have done with similar lawn complaints from customers - see Reviews. After multiple requests to speak to the owner he finally called me back and after a 45 minute discussion we mutually agreed to cancel my annual contract. Consumer Beware - they will make excuses for poor lawn quality even though they are the sole lawn services. Technicians have high turnover are not trained and unable to answer basic general question. Agronomist just make excuses and provide no value in providing solutions,

Great lawn care product service. My grass is the fullest and greenest its been in 20 years

They burned my mothers grass and will not correct. She had been using them for 1+ yrs and this is the way they treat their customers. She is an elderly woman who contacted the company in an attempt for them to correct. They refused to accept responsibility and blamed my mother for their screw up. This is NOT a company you want to care for your yard.

We love that our service person always notifies us when he will be at our property, and gives us a detailed report.

Used the previous company for 4 years, but new system with new company. They claim they sent 4 reminders for payment, I got one, then another today that said I was 30 days late, with a penalty and my service was suspended. Customer Service said, we sent two reminders, which they proved by showing a screenshot from their system with no date, time, or email address. I responded with screenshots from gmail showing no such email. They declined to remove the late fee, so Ill probably eat my prepaid tree service.

They have turned my wire grass yard around to something not embarrassed by anymore. Im hoping this fall with another round of seeding and aeration it can get thicker

We switched this year from another lawn service company to Virginia Green. We noticed brown spots snd dying of our grass. After numerous attempts to contact them they finally came out to look. They blamed us as homeowners saying we were not watering enough and that it was heat stress. This is completely false ( as the rest of the grass was green but they spots) we had another company come out and confirm that it was disease which we had paid Virginia Green $240 so far this year to spray for.( paid them a total of &648) Do not use this company, they will not admit their faults and will take your money and not spray the treatments necessary. There are a few other companies that our neighbors use and their lawns look great. The ones using Virginia Green look the worst.

Helpful, informative and punctual

This company bought out BioGreen last year. I never had any trouble with BioGreen. But twice now Virginia Green has forgotten to send me an invoice, then send they send me a late invoice and charge interest (I cant pay a bill I never receive). This last time, I didnt get the bill for June service until August 2, which I paid on the 16 of August when I got my next paycheck. In the meantime they harassed me constantly, threatened to suspend my service and then, even after I had paid my bill, sent me another invoice stating they were sending me to collection and suspending my service (all for $112). Well, guess what, I am terminating their services. Dont recommend this company at all.

Weve used this company for 2 plus years with the company continuing to promise better and better results, year over year over year. Well, my grass is still covered in weeds with many bare spots. I regularly watered the grass so my only assumption is Virginia Green uses a methodology that makes you reliant on their companys services in a way that if you choose to stop youre left with grass that will die. Costs continually go up with poor results. I do not recommend.

Continued to show up after canceling my service and tried to bill me for services that were not even done!

Had a pleasant experience but prices are a little high for my needs

The staff has been pleasant & they will come out if I have a problem. I just haven t been pleased with the results. Last fall the yard was aerated & seeded. There were certain areas where it looked like no seeds were planted. They came out & put some more seeds out. At that time I still didn t notice anything coming up in those areas. In the spring the yard looked nice, but this summer it didn t look good at all. In August I called to cancel. They came out & agreed that weeds had pretty much taken over the yard. The agronomist put something down for them. It killed a good portion of them which left the yard looking very bare. I agreed to get it aerated & seeded again. It s been over a month & there are still a lot of bare areas in my yard where it looks like no seeds were put down. I ve canceled for the final time. They were willing to come out again. I just don t think I should have to call them back out everytime I get the yard aerated. And I don t think the yard should ve looked as bad as it did over the summer when I m paying them to come out every month & a half to two months to treat it. The pictures are the results after the last aeration & seeding.

This is my yard after Sept 9 aeration and seeding, and 2-3 additional seedings, inspecting. NEVER has my yard had this many WEEDS!!!!!!!! I will give them until January to get it together, and if not, I will take my business elsewhere!!!!

These guys bought out bio-green and took over our service. Lawn this year looked awful! Bare spots all over, weeds, you name it. We had been traveling back and forth most of the summer and I just keep thinking, dont over react it will be better in a few weeks after the treatment takes effect. Nope. Terrible still. There is no way their service and results warrants the $$. Just take 15 mins every few months and apply top rated product(s) from amazon. Literally better results and 1/4 the cost. Tried to cancel service and they told us that we were contracted for the entire year [eye roll]. Avoid!

**Do not use Virginia Green.** Not only are they not a very good lawn service company but they also have no customer service in place. When I called them to complain about lawn services they did to my lawn in early January without my consent and after I had cancelled their service they insisted that the treating weeds in January makes sense in Richmond and they refused to cancel the service or give me a refund. The cancellation manager Brendan is also very rude and and stated that just because I am dissatisfied does not mean that I deserve a refund. You are much better off using any of their competitors. I will also be contacting the better business bureau about their service. Please notice that in their response there is no mention of a money back guarantee because they don t really have one. **Buyer beware.**

Virginia Green has provided lawn treatments to my lawn for the past several years. They also do most of my neighbors. There is a noticable difference in the lawns they service, with much healthier, greener, thicker turf and few weeds.

The best lawn care service company in the Richmond area - hands down. They re knowledgeable and are so easy to work with. I had basically given up hope on ever having a full lawn, Virginia Green changed all that. I would offer nothing but the highest praise for this company. When I drive around my neighborhood, if a yard has perfect, green, grass - 9/10 it s VA Green.

Weve been using Virginia Green for a year now, and the difference in our lawn is much better than we were expecting. When we moved into our home in December 2019, it had been owned by an older couple who due to illness, couldnt care for the lawn for at least 2 years before we moved in, and while the grass was still alive and mowable, it was a mess of weeds and brown patches. I tried applying chemicals myself last spring but didnt have much luck with getting results, so I gave up and my wife contacted Virginia Green. The lawn looks amazing now, and we no longer feel embarrassed by it. The persistent weeds that were in it are gone and the grass is uniform and lush green again.

2021 would have been our second season with Virginia Green. In 2020, we used them to control weeds on our Zoysia lawn and, even though they claimed to not have a warm season grass program, the treatments that they provided made remarkable improvements in our lawn. The problems began when they performed a Fall aeration without notifying me that there was an additional charge for it ( and I even tipped the technician for his hard work that day ). Then, when the 2021 season was beginning, I was notified that their services were automatically renewed unless cancelled -- At no time was this explained to me and I informed them that ANY charges from Virginia Green without my explicit authorization would be disputed as unauthorized. In March 2021, we decided to enroll in their lawn maintenance program and prepaid for the annual service. When we were advised that the first service was scheduled, I specifically asked Rob if the pre-emergent would have any detrimental effect on the dormant Zoysia grass and I was assured that it would not. Shortly after the treatment, it was apparent that Robs assurance was nothing more than lip service, as the Zoysia that had spread to my neighbors lawns had turned green and was flourishing while ours was obviously dead. After advising Rob of this, I was told that it was likely due to a fungi that Zoysia is susceptible to and someone would be out to look at the lawn. Although there was no explanation given as to why the fungi attacked and killed ONLY the Zoysia that Virginia Green had treated on our front yard -- not the Zoysia on our neighbors lawns and not the Zoysia on our back yard. A few days later, Eugene came out to inspect the lawn and advised that our lawn contained very little Zoysia grass and was 85% - 90% Fescue and only 10% - 15% Zoysia and was referring me to their cool season grass program. Mistakes are a part of human nature and I would never fault someone for making an honest mistake BUT, when they make that mistake and choose to make lame excuses instead of owning up to it and correcting it, that invalidates any confidence that I would otherwise have in them. Lame excuses is ALL I got from Virginia Green at every turn. I PERSONALLY planted over 3000 plugs of Zoysia grass in our front lawn and it was so well established that it had filled a large section of our neighbors lawns as well as our own. The ONLY reason that our lawn is now 85% - 90% Fescue is because they killed the established, dormant Zoysia. I demanded a cancellation of our service agreement and a refund, which they provided but also deducted the one service that they provided that killed our lawn. For years, I treated our lawn myself using readily available retail products from Scotts and Bayer and always had the best looking lawn on our street. I THOUGHT that having professional lawn care would be a step up but, instead, it erased years of hard work and my hard-earned money invested. Hopefully, our Zoysia will manage to recover or, we will replant next year but one thing is absolutely certain, Virginia Green will never set foot on our property again

I must say this business was fast in responding to my request. My first service they put down some lime; I do feel like for $180 they should have been at my home longer than 10 minutes. My second visit I could truly tell that the technician( Jake Dickerson) was knowledgeable and efficient. Ive only been with them for 2 weeks so I really cant give you a review on results.

Weed treatments dont kill most weeds. Also they are disorganized and hard to work with. I had to remind them to come out when I was already on their schedule. There are other companies to use instead that are much better.

Have been a customer for 13 years and have to say that customer service has definitely gone down hill. When we 1st started with them it was easy to get some one on the phone , or at least a prompt call back. This morning I waited on hold for 25 minutes before a human picked up - it was their answering service , not someone who could help - all they did was take my name and info. I believe this organization just isnt interested in keeping customers as I see lots of advertising for new customers and constantly receive emails from them to upgrade services ( we have been on the estate plan for 13 years) - but when you need them it takes days to respond - forget about calling unless you have time to spare. We will definately explore alternative services after this years contract expires , hopefully find a more customer centric organization....

Did a soil test with service back in May and still have not got results in Sept. Called twice and customer service left sent a message to local office but still no response. Very frustrating cant talk to someone at local office or have access to their number!

I ve never dealt with such an unresponsive, unreliable company in my life. I paid a lot of money for aeration and over seeding and I got aeration. I got home on September 8th and saw not one seed of grass on my entire lawn. Left a message with no return call. Called again with no return call. Called again and was told someone stopped by my home and seeded my lawn. Great! Got home and saw zero seed. I will get my money back and already called my lawyer. Do not give your hard earned money to Virginia Green. Extremely unresponsive and they don t do the right thing.

UPDATED: my initial review was based on the outcome - I have the worst lawn on the street despite Virginia Green. With the online review, Virginia Green staff contacted me several times and did an additional site visit to walk my entire property. They had some specific suggestions, which Ill try. The yard still looks terrible, but their customer service team was very responsive.

Called to get help with my lawn. $21.oo for seed that never came. And $47 bucks for a Tech to spend 5min putting fertilizer on it. I can do that. I have to say it was not the Teach, its the service they offer. Canceled after one day

Do not use this company. They will bill you services you never agree to. They apparently showed up and did them while I was out of state as well. Dont even call them, apparently thats a verbal agreement.

I have used this company for last two years but I am very disappointed in the service to say the least. I had bad experience earlier this year as well but thought of giving some time. The egronomist/ east richmond region manager, Will McEwen, is rude and arrogant and really needs customer service training. They will refute you for everything. They will not stand for what they say when you sign up for service. They treat you as if you are not the customer and that they are doing you a favor.. After not being satisfied with the issue resolution, I told him that I will not recommend them in my community and put Google review, and change provider, he suggested that he will post my phone conversation if I reviewed them badly. Please check many other options out there, like I will be doing.

Craig has visited our home after work and over weekends (check up and assist) he even blowed leaves of our lawn with his own blower! Virginia Green all the way for us!

Ive been using Virginia Green for a few years and their treatments work wonders, but unfortunately I think theyve gotten too busy to manage their customers well. I had 4 separate conversations about adding my back yard to our service plan and having it seeded and aerated this year. Every time I talked to them, no one could find notes from previous calls and the back yard wasnt included. I finally got someone to quote it and they were about 25% off on the square footage of my yard, so i asked that they send someone to roughly measure. After all of the hassle they still didnt end up seeding the back yard. Meanwhile, while that was going on, I spent a day trenching in a new sprinkler system. I got an email with a bill saying that the tech had been out to service the yard while I was in the middle of it trenching... no one could have possibly serviced it without me noticing. Anyhow, Ive canceled and dont imagine Ill be back.

Last year I decided that walking the yard to fertilize was painful and we had so many weeds and in January lots of dead brown spots.like a lot of reviews I have had concerns .I called with guesting were given answers . I decided to do lime and aerating, and seeding ,after looking at the yard I could not find a lot of seed .in the summer I added my back yard to the program. I was unable to get the back yard aerating and seed added its a lot of money.after the first year and looking at how well my seed came upon yard looks. SO MUCH BETTER!!!! I JUST NEED TO BE MORE PATIENT fixing my yard will take time. 400%better after 1 yearI cant wait to see after this year its the middle of January and the deer love it

I have used Va. Green for several years with no problems. When they serviced my lawn in early January they told me that the lawn looks great. I soon realized that part of my lawn was covered with moss and that it didnt look great. Also they sent me a bill for $366. with no description as to what it was for. They said it was for lime application. I dont understand why they can give me a quote for lime application when the soil sample has not come back from the lab yet. I am going to look elsewhere for a lawn service. I have called them three times and no return call. Very unprofessional. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!

We ve switched from Tru Green to Virginia Green which was the biggest mistake ever!!! They always come with multiple excuses as to why our yard has NO IMPROVEMENTS!!! After all these years of just taking our money and no good results... its a serious problem!!! They killed the yard, did aeration and seeding and the yard STILL look terrible!!! Smh We need some type of reimbursement if this is the end result!!!

Noticed more active weed growth than in past years. Emailed my concerns. VA Green responded with a treatment 2 days later.

Never have I seen my lawn more green or full. I had Trugreen for 7 months and saw no difference in my lawn. After 2 applications with Virginia Green, my lawn looks amazing. Kudos to Virginia Green. The only downside is I have to mow it every week now as it is growing so fast. THANKS VIRGINIA GREEN! Lol.

Virginia Green product is pretty awesome. Now the customer service is in need of some help. I understand the everyone need to approach things differently with COVID-19. They can get in the back yard easily if they would put Notes on my account for all their employees to see how to get in my backyard. if its not unlocked or open before they get here, they leave without even ringing doorbell and standing back enouch to meet the social distance guidelines they want to work with. A simple task would prevent a bad review. happenwd 4x already and someone is always home UPDATE THE WAY YOU DO CUSTOMER SERVICE poor communication

Good customer service. Didnt keep me waiting for long. Loaded 6 bags of seed for me and I was on my way.

Called during normal hours, wanted to make an appt. Person behind the desk could not make me an appt. Said rep would call back in the AM. Nobody has called yet and its been 4 days. Called someone else.

I wanted to cry when looking at my yard until they took over. I had to fire my husband and let Virginia Green handle the science of a beautiful yard.

They dont spray for weeds everywhere they should.

They ruined my yard by aerating and seeding it after I had already had it completed by another company. I am not even one of their customers. Now my yard could be potentially ruined after paying hundreds of dollars to have it aerated and seeded a month ago along with paying for the water bill to properly maintain it. Now I get to start all over again. What is even more infuriating is the seed that they laid is now all over my mulch beds and other unwanted areas. I am not sure how difficult it could be to read a simple street address. My efforts and money now seem to have gone to waste.

Excellent Customer Service Timmy communicated periodically about weeds on our lawn. He told me his strategy to eradicate weeds. Eric went out and spray weeds the second time around with no extra charge.

All my questions were answered politely and professionally. Very little wait time on the phone. Customer service and the work performed at my home are fantastic.

I liked the way my 2 neighbors yards looked so I signed up for their service. After a few weeks they called and said they would come on friday. Friday morning comes and its raining cats and dogs for the next 2 days, I call and ask them to reschedule, they say they will get back to me. A week goes by and I hear the truck out there treating one (not both) of my neighbors. I ask them if they can do mine but am told I am not on the list. I quickly call the office and ask them and they say, well will get back to you. Another week goes by (its been a month now) and I call the salesman and he was told by the dispatchers that they called me to come out 3 times but I said no. I tell him this is not the case. I got Scotts coming out now in 2-3 days and they are $6 cheaper soo... A month is long enough to get your act together.

They have experts that know what they are doing.

They did a horrible job. When they first came out they told my wife my sod was dead but it was Zoysia and dormant ?!? On the rest of my yard I never had so many weeds. I don t know that they knew Spurge is a weed, my yard was covered in it. Their billing department was a joke. I had 2 properties and would write 1 check and they would always credit one account and send me letters saying I was behind on the one payment while the other account had a positive balance?!? Terrible!

It is too early to tell on the grass, but as for communication no way. Im a new customer had a manager call and tell me Friday they would start. This was great since I had a crew finishing up my deck in the back yard, until I get a door bell ring Thursday saying they cant service my lawn until the deck crew is gone. I explained your a day early, can you come back tomorrow or end of day they will be done at 3:30. Ill see said the driver, later I get a call at 3pm the guy is not coming back he was already done for the day and Id have to reschedule. I asked for a manager, but no return call yet. First time using them and poor communication. Still waiting on that call, not even sure the tech even sprayed, got A bill though. I really want to know how much chemical was used, nothing on the ticket and after 3 weeks no soil results. Southern states has them back in 2 days. Now that I wrote this, I may cancel. I need a dependable service that does what they say.

Amazing service. I saw them turn my neighbors ratty yard into a lush dark green carpet in under a year. Hired them to help my already decent yard and its also like carpet in less than a year. Best lawn Ive ever had. Better lawn than my previous lawn serviced by a local company. You wont find better lawn care anywhere, simply cannot go wrong.

Their service isnt yet complete and I have 6 more treatments due, but Id happily a review to date. After a horriblely rude experience with True Green, I opted to do it myself. You see #TrueGreen flat out refused to come out and view the property with me until after Ive signed a contract. Now, they will argue that TrueGreen doesnt have contracts. In fact they do. They just call them Plans. Any-who, talked to three people (the third was very pushy and ignored the fact that Im not signing anything until someone comes out. The even went as far as stating no one will come from any service these days. And Good luck. Moving on, Virginia Green was more than willing to come out, point the various types of grass and weeds in the yard. The time frame each needed to be treated. And stated up front what will take time to correct. After the first treatment, two weeks later, Im seeing those nasty weeds starting to die. Ill update after each treatment...

Its official, Im no longer a Virginia Green Customer after 6 years. Im tired of the excuses. I pay them to do my yard but its never their fault if something is wrong. Its either my blades which I ensure or sharpened and are in good working order, Its some weed thats not covered, now I have brown spots everywhere and its the rain. Say what you want but the quality of service has diminished.

My husband called today to get information about pricing and the type of products used. The woman he spoke to was quite rude and answered his questions with short, sometimes one-word, answers. For example, when asked about the use of natural products, her answer was Its pet-friendly. When asked about pricing, her response was depends on the square footage and requires an inspection. She would not take the time to discuss anything further, almost as if he was bothering her! A potential customer was lost today just because of the inability to provide informative, thorough customer service.

This is by far the best lawn care company in the Richmond area!
