I found that there is no communication between the actual Pro & you. The date & frequency that you choose is not the same thats given. Someone showed up & cut my grass when I was out of town. My camera captured them on the riding lawnmower so close to my white fence that it left black scuff marks all along the fence. They provided a date howevet with a no show. They have your phone # but never contacted me by phone. Only email. Why not a text. I do not recommend this co.

Signed up on July 31. It's Aug 15 and they still haven't come. Lots of promises and reschedules. Now my grass is so long another company will charge me 2x the normal price. When I call customer service they tell me to give them another chance, and that they can't do anything.

Absolutely DO NOT contact these people for lawn care. It is a complete and utter scam. They steal from their customers and from their contractors with absolutely shady business practices. The astroturfing of their reviews is obviously fake with reviews from “Karen R. And Brian M. Etc.” I can provide more details to my experience but in a nutshell they charged me $120 and mowed half of the grass and held me hostage for the rest.

If I could give it a zero I would.. reschedule without communicating even though I received a message stating they would be on their way.. instead they came a day later where here for 10 mins missed an entire large section of my front yard and behind my fence and left it long even though I stated to cut short looks like a 5 year old had fun with a mower.. they did no edging which is included or blowing.. LawnStarter was contacted and they refuse to refund for this service.. now my husband had to come home from work early because we have an HOA and god forbid the lawns look out of regulation we will get fined. Does anyone do a good job anymore it’s ridiculous.

If i could rate it zero i would. I have had them reschedule not once not twice but three different times now. Was told they would definitely come out today to do the lawn and the crew didn't answer and the chat support was no help either just saying they would find a new crew and the crew that was suppose to come out today was suppose to be a different "new crew" three crews later and still not took care.

The first cut offer of $19 is a SCAM! I was charged the regular fee plus overgrown price. You can not offer a discount and then use the agreement signed to take more money. The contract agreement for over 6 inches is for second, third, etc. cuts NOT the first cut special deal; Or, it's not a discount! Also, they left rows of clump up grass at which went into my flower beds along with chopped up leaves.

Alright at first, then terrible. They sent out an awful crew, that tried to destroy my yard. Have called so many times, trying to get it worked out. I give up. Save yourself a lot of time and money. Just dont do it.

If I could rate them 0 stars I would. First they told me they were coming on Monday. I called to confirm and then waited all day for them to arrive. They came on Tuesday. Next, when they came they cut my lawn however they wanted even though I specifically requested that they cut the grass low. You can see from the pictures (taken AFTER the lawn service) that it barely looks cut. Additionally, they did not cut the long weeds growing out of the walkway even though I paid for full lawn service. I asked the lead employee who was in charge of the crew and he was very rude and refused to fix it or allow one of the crew members to fix it. They left without resolving the issue and did not care one bit. This was my first time doing business with this company…and my last. I immediately called customer service and cancelled my subscription. Beware of this lazy unprofessional business!!

I wanted to try them out- since we cut our own grass and my husband is healing from an injury. AWFUL- the first service was $19.99 and then a min 2 more services afterward. for 70+ dollars each- I said ok thats reasonable considering they are professional and come out as schedualed and the sales rep seemed to be logging what I needed done. NO. They came the first time and did a half job- missing multiple spots and leaving weeds not weed eaten, grass clumps and rocks flying into my house and windows. I was trying to give them another chance. because for $19 i figured maybe they where rushing or something. and I can KIND OF understand not being invested as much if your not being paid well... I left a $12 tip I would have left more if I where happy. The next mow- They delayed by several days for a personal reason ( Ok no problem im not that picky), so $70 + tip ( I still was not happy but understood so I left another small tip to show some kind of appreciation) THEN lawnstarter CHARGED ME $171 DOLLARS! to mow a lawn that is half moss and weeds and partial grass. We had trees cut down so the lawn is still growing back... lawnstarter AUTOMATICALLY CHARGES tall grass fee after not showing up when they said they would due to a personal issues and missing multiple spots the first time... I was trying to be nice and give them a chance but I would not suggest anyone use this service at this time. Its called FRAUD and I am contacting my Bank about this and would suggest anyone else who has had issues being decived and over charged for non existant 6 inch grass please work with your bank to bring an end to this scam. I know the company actually OVERCHARGES automatically the Long grass fee thinking people wont push back. I feel decieved Im so confused as to what is actually happening. Im just going to hire someone local from Nextdoor or thumbtack where I wont have hidden things

This time, nobody even came to cut our grass we have been waiting but yet they are still charging us because we didn t cancel. How were we supposed to cancel if we didn t know they weren t coming? I requested August 26. They didnt show up until late (are 5:00p on August 27. I was quoted at or around $57. They arrived and told me the grass was too long to cut and theyd have to raise to nearly $150. $60 was already pushing it. It was just my back yard, as a neighbor had cut the front yard sometime in the last week or so, but they included one long grass blade from the front yard. I havent been home because of work, my health, and having to borrow a car. I was just seeking the service for assistance and one less thing off my plate. Normally I would do it with my little battery powered mower. But apparently two guys cant handle it. Dont offer a service you wont provide.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Very unprofessional the crew does not show up. My last bush trimming was done in October 2021 they don t show up for November, December, January & February but then want to double charge me a total of $115.56 to say they showed up March 16th & 17th to do bush trimming but no one ever showed up I ve been home all day and have a ring doorbell and no one ever came to do any bush trimming work. They schedule you for one day to come out but never show up. Definitely looking for other companies to provide better service. Save yourself time and money and just look somewhere else for yard work service. I just got a credit back of what they double charged me for even though they NEVER showed up and also cancelled my services and account with Lawn Starter.

I found this company online for my mother in law who is older and needed lawn service. I would not recommend this company. They are not consistent with their quality and they send random people off the street to cut your grass. The last draw was when a man and women showed up in a vehicle with a lawn mower hanging out the trunk. They also wanted my mother in law to give them cash right there for cutting her grass. That is not how the process is supposed to work.

It says on their website that they can do one time lawn mowing and when you either get the call or call them they tell you no you cant. Theres a minimum of three cuts that they have to do. If you dont do it, dont promote it.

After the first bad experience w/this company last year and them granting me a 3 free lawn mowing service, I scheduled lawn services earlier this month. First of all, no one showed up on the scheduled day. After a couple of phone calls to their customer service, I had my lawn cut about 2 days after the fact. THIS IS THE PART I WANT YOU TO PAY CLOSEST ATTENTION TO. I had $88.00 credit w/them before the yard was cut. And they are telling me I owe THEM over $50 for that cut that includes the $88 - Unbelievable!!!! I may be a senior citizen but absolutely nothing is wrong w/my math skills - that lawn cut cost over $138.00??? Are they preying on senior citizens?? Nothing about this is right - stay away from this company - predators...

would give 0 stars if possible. we originally quoted to get our lawn mowed and some stumps removed from our front yard. we came to an agreement on a time and date and all was fine. 2 days before the date of the appointment, my wife received a message from the company saying that the work had been completed and the payment will be withdrawn. Neither of us were home at the time of this message, so when we came home nothing had been done. no message on the door no nothing. we tried to contact the company, customer service was horrible. we both called separately, and were both given the run around by customer service. we were told that they were going to call the crew and give us an update and to hold. we were put on hold for about 15-20 minutes before someone picked up the line and hung up abruptly. the next day we called again and wanted to just cancel the service. we were told it was canceled and thought it was done. today (1 week later) we are charged more than the original price and again no one has come out or spoken to us about the work. ALL OF THIS AND NO WORK OR CONTACT HAS BEEN MADE. again horrible service and bad business ethics save yourself from the headache and avoid this company no matter what. also after the fact of reading other reviews no need to call JOEY OR KAT. both of their phones are off hope this review helps someone from making a mistake

Ive requested they remove my phone number 6 times only to get a call a couple hours later. Im hoping to find a way to file an official complaint against them for harassment. Do society a favor and get a local service to do your lawn. These parasitic organizations need to be eliminated.

This is a warning to all my neighbors about the very negative experience that I had after contacting and requesting the services of Lawn starter.Inc. It is probably important to mention that they subcontract out to smaller independent lawn services. Early April I requested their services and was asked the usual questions related to size of yard, existence of fencing gates, size and accessibility of gates, and of course, what kind of services I required. I provided my address and all required information. Our final agreement resulted in a bi-weekly contract for approximately $52.00 per job. For my first cut, the gentleman who owned the subcontract was from Poquoson. First, He delayed my service for a week because of equipment problems. The next week he called and said he would be at my house shortly, but hours later had still not arrived. I called him and told him that in the time since he had called, my next door neighbors lawn service guy had already come and gone! It turns out he had mowed my next door neighbors yard!!! Upon his arrival at the house he complained continuously about providing a free lawn service next door, and the money he would lose. He informed me that my estimate was way under what it should be, and that Lawn starters company had not paid him the last $400.00 that he was owed by them. He told me he was going independent and suggested that I call his service for any further negotiations about services to my property! He then went on to do the poorest quality service my yard has ever received! Issues noticed were un-mowed areas of grass and missed edging around the house and the fencing, in both front yard and backyard. I called Lawn starter service line and told them about the appalling service I had received, and let them know about his complaints, and that he was using their customer base to promote his own company! Not loyal, not honorable very ugly! The very attentive and courteous young lady promised to provide another subcontractor, and I agreed to one more try. The next two weeks was delay after delay, with actual message traffic from the subcontractor stating I had canx the service that day. This was followed by a message on the lawn starter website that my job had been completed and would I please provide a review!!! Are you freaking kidding me! I called back Lawn starter company and this time talked to a young man. I won t go into the details, but he was rude, contrite, and arrogant beyond words. He was obviously trained as a company talking pawn. I fired Lawn starter service that day. I ended up mowing and edging my own lawn. Then on 23 May I received another Lawn starter text message that Jacob had come out and completed my lawn, and they wanted me to provide a review! This company is a WHACK job! Stay Clear! I hope this review will prevent some of you from experiencing the disaster called Lawn Starter.Inc

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I have suffered through the three-mow minimum and am done with them. I hired them because my riding mower broke and I figured it would be cheaper in the long run to contract out than buy a new mower. Cheaper? Maybe. Better? No. First mow: mowed over my lilac bushes and just did a poor job in general. When I complained, I was asked for pictures. Fine, but whats the point of sending a picture of a mangled twig sticking out of the dirt? Especially because I dont have a before picture because I didnt expect anyone to mow over an 18-inch tall bush. Second mow: New guy, rescheduled due to weather for a Tuesday. They didnt show up until Thursday, but over all I was more pleased with this crew. They didnt run over my littler bushes. Maybe because I put tomato cages around them. I dunno. Third mow: I got the usual Your job is done, please rate them text message. If the job was to cut a single blade of grass, then maybe the job was done. As far as I know, the job was to mow my backyard. That was not done. Ya know what is done? Me. And this contract.

This is by far the worst company I ve ever had the displeasure of working with. Never even got my first mow because they kept rescheduling me when I gave them a specific deadline because I was going out of town and wanted to ensure the lawn would be serviced before I left. I normally mow my lawn myself but I ve been working several days in a row and it s been too hot lately to do all by myself so I thought I would hire a professional company to make it nice and get it ready for the fall months but words cannot express how disappointed I am with this company. The providers have no communication with the clients and don t respond to the messages. Customer service just puts you down for the next day but doesn t make sure it gets completed on that day. There is zero accountability for anyone. Now I have to find a company to service my lawn while I m on vacation and should be relaxing instead of stressing out about this. I will never use this company again and advise anyone else considering this company to look elsewhere because it will not be completed on your time.

Now, if you`re paying them to cut your grass you`d think they would idk cut the gross, right? NOPE. Twice they showed up to my service and canceled it because my grass looked fine already WITHOUT asking me. Then the one time they actually mowed my lawn they missed multiple spots and I had to call to have them come back and remow. They use a call agency in a different country, so I call and Im talking to this sweet girl trying not to be upset about the terrible service that Im spending my money on. absolutely ridiculous. This is the worst lawn service I have ever had, I was having to go back after them and mow myself.

I scheduled this company over two weeks ago. They missed all four of their appointments this week. Each time I got no call about them not coming, called myself after every time and was given excuse after excuse as to why the provider didn t come, they would then say don t worry we have them scheduled to come tomorrow.There was absolutely no communication, horrible providers, and lack of professionalism. Please do not use this services! We ended up going with lawnlove and they came the next day and did a beautiful job.

The lawn cutting was done well however stains were left on my fence which is white and grass was left thrown on the side of my house and the fence. I had just had my home power washed and now I will have to have the home power washed again because the crew slung grass all over the house and all over the fence. There are also scrapes on my fence which is not acceptable. Communication with my crew was very bad and they did not respond to any of my messages. The company canceled my serviced because I complained about their crew. Horrible customer service. If I could give zero stars I would.

Services were requested on a Saturday, with the estimated day of arrival between Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday the service still had not been done. The point of contact finally reached out on Thursday and advised the service would be delayed to Friday or the following Monday, and by the next Tuesday (10 days after the service was originally requested) the yard was still not serviced. No communication was provided whatsoever. Services were cancelled and I will not be using this company in the future, or recommending it to associates.

Terrible experience. I added multiple properties to be mowed, they said they d matched us with a mowing service crew and scheduled them. They never showed up on the scheduled days, then after 5 days of waiting for them I received an email saying that Unfortunately, the demand for lawn care service in your area is high at this time and we can t find a crew fit for your needs and they canceled/inactivated the service for all except 3 of the properties. They then mowed one of the remaining properties then inactivated the last 2 without any form of notice. I ve tried calling them 5 times at different times of the day to confirm that I m not under contract with them and that I wasn t charged for the inactivated properties, but their customer service department is nonexistent and I haven t heard back from anyone. Avoid the headache of dealing with this garbage company!

The services are booked under my son, they gave dates in which they would come out, and never showed. The day after they sent a message saying the demand is high for lawn service in our area and at this time they were unable to service us. This is extremely unprofessional service... My suggestion is to find someone dependable. This service had been scheduled and If they couldn t meet it, they should have let us know so that we could find a lawn service that could. There service has been touch & go since my son started using them last year. The very first cut was sloppy, they came back out and corrected it. The service after that was really good which made us want to stay with them, now this.. The grass is extremely high, now we will have to find someone to do it in addition to paying extra fees because of the length of the grass after waiting for them to not show...

I scheduled lawn services and then got an email saying that no one was available in my area, so I called them on Monday and waited on hold for 20 minutes and finally just asked for a call back. Someone called me a day later and we discussed a new program that they have where they search outside of my area for other lawncare professionals when no one is available in my area. They said if services arent scheduled by Thursday please call us as soon as possible. I called and once again was holding for someone for over 35 minutes and still I was unable to talk to anyone. Thats just crazy. How am I supposed to let you know anything as soon as possible if no one answers the phone? Ive been using them for about a year and they were pretty good, but this year its like theyve really slacked off especially on customer service.

I am a new customer. They came the first time, did a great job. They were scheduled to come again this past Thurs. or Fri. Since I m having a house full of people today, that worked out perfectly except...,they never showed, never call, nothing and my lawn is in dire need of mowing. I messaged them 4 times, tried calling 5 times and couldn t get through. I am currently on hold with them and have been for the last hour. I keep getting a message that all agents are currently unavailable. I am beginning to believe there are no agents on duty and am wondering if they are still in business. If they are, this has been extremely unprofessional. I ll let you know if I ever hear from them. In the meantime, don t waste your time!

I have had lawnStarter for the past two months and I have been very happy with the service. I reply to Thomas and he replies back so that is a plus with a lawn service. My yard looks great and the trim work is outstanding. I hurt my back and trying to do my own yard was a problem one of my neighbors would cut the yard for me but trimming was left up to me and most of the time I could not trim. You can barely reach someone and my crew was a no show no call multiple days in spite of reaching out and saying they were coming multiple times. I canceled the service. Then they won t cancel your subscription before 3 mows. Hello! I can t even get ONE mow. I just want out. Extraordinarily unprofessional and unreliable. They would have probably charged me a tall grass fee since they came so late too. Ridiculous.

Worst company I have ever come across. First I originally setup and scheduled an appointment for Monday May 17th, the customer service rep. Scheduled me for the 13th of May. The crew messaged me and I explained to them I would like them to come on Monday because I was having an event that Saturday and I wanted the grass and landscaping fresh also it was supposed to rain. They messaged and said they could change it to Monday no problem. They then messaged me on the 14th apologizing saying they couldn t come on the 14th I was confused because I never asked them to come on the 14th. On the 15th he said I ll be there then cancelled the job all together. Monday came and I messaged the crew to realize it was a totally different crew now. I heard no response after several hours I messaged again nearing end of the day to get an ETA being that my dog was going to be back from daycare at 7pm and would be in the yard. I got a response 30 minutes later that said I be there today well the day was over it was 6:30 pm. I explained I wanted my yard cut short as the grass grows fairly quickly and I would like it evenly cut and edged all around, I also was awaiting a quote for mulching for the two flower beds. he did not speak English so he called another person who then said yeah yeah he will do it he did not do it. I left to go get my dog and returned. The grass was uneven, the yard was not edged up, parts were high and low all over and the flowerbed had not been touched and he said oh I be back tomorrow for that. I asked him to cut it short he said ok packed up went over it at the same height and left. He also didn t do the other side of my lawn. I called customer service was placed on call back and never received one.

No one ever shows up, messages, or calls. I have called the line daily for at least 15 minutes, waiting on hold. My grass is long and the unprofessionalism is concerning. It is impossible to contact them or for them to return your call. This is a scam company, check your bank statements, I have had issues with them billing me when they did not complete any service. I have had 5 reschedules in the past month and a half...this is ridiculous. They never call to say they are not coming, they just dont show and wont answer your calls.

The only good thing is that they were responsive when they want you as a customer! They were very hard to get hold off once you got in, ALWAYS have to leave a voice message. John, the lawn mower guy, only wants to do an easy job so he just did my front yard without any clean up. He claimed that there is a fence so he did no clean up, I have no fence in the front yard. I am not sure if he even bother to come the next day. DONT USE THIS COMPANY, I use this one time and had wasted so much of my time. I had a bad experience and learned it the hard way.

I was scheduled to have my lawn cut on Monday or Tuesday of this week. After no one came and no messages received on Tuesday, I sent a text to someone with the company, then followed up with an email through the App to my Crew, no response and then I sent an email to the companys general customer service and no response there as well. I went ahead this morning and cancelled the membership and then received a call while at work that a team had showed up at my house and was cutting the grass. I asked to have the grass cut high, it was cut low and it was not done well, does not look like a professional job at all.

I was using LawnStarter for several months after our home flooded and we had to relocate. For a while, I didn t really have any complaints. For the last several weeks though, I noticed my crew was canceling our mowing services randomly. We weren t given an option on the app to reschedule, and messaging then proved to be useless, so my lawn was just going weeks without being mowed. Most recently, our crew dropped us right at the time they were scheduled to come out for a mowing. We were told our mowing would be pushed back a week but assured another crew would complete it. As of the date they guaranteed, no one came out and no one contacted me. I looked at the app, and apparently my services have been cancelled. Again, my lawn hasn t been mowed in weeks due to random cancellations/crew loss, and now they re not even going to send anyone to rectify it. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for dependable lawn services.

I spent the better part of a month trying to get two addresses signed up for Lawn Care. The initial property after extensively talking with their support staff they found that they were able to cut it. A full week past the date that Lawn Care was supposed to be performed the contractor assigned did not show up and did not say anything until I reached out. When I reached out I got a series of sob stories saying why they couldn t cut it on time and when I was finally able to swap the crew they canceled without real notice. A third crew is assigned and I added an additional address at a smaller size and the contractor came in and tried to quote for three times the original quote after I had describing that the yard was fairly long. The person canceled the appointment and left somebody else was assigned and pushed back. Then the third crew at the initial property came out said that it was too much yard for them and canceled. Support said that they could no longer help me for that property. I ve canceled all attempts at service with them this is unprofessional and on top of it the app is such a pain to use. 0 out of 10 would not recommend. I recently tried to start a service with this company for leaf removal. First, the crew failed to arrive to do the service on two separate scheduled occasions. And now, today 12/06/21, the crew arrived and re-quoted me for 3x the original quote! They also stated that the leaf has not been removed for 2 years. I asked how they find this out because Ive been doing the lawn mowing since Ioved here in Apri 2021. The leaf on the ground now is from this falls leaf accumulation. Feels like this company is nothing but a complete waste of time and are just out there attempting to scam people! Stay away from this company!

I contracted with them for about 3 months. The first two months they were great. By the third month they became unresponsive and my crew switched twice. First my crew rescheduled my date to be more convenient for him which was fine, but then he never showed and charged me for services never received. So I submitted a complaint and found out my crew was fired and the company assigned a new crew. My new crew doesn t show when they were supposed to and reschedules only to not show again. I call the company and find out that my new crew was fired as well. I call and the customer service rep says they are looking for a new crew and promises services within the next 24 hours. The next day I call because no has showed up and i m informed that they couldn t find a crew and I could wait two more days (Its been 1.5 month since my last mow now) or cancel services. Also, I tried to schedule another service through the company and the guy they sent tried to 1)up charge me ridiculously and 2) contract with him outside of the company. The company is not well organized and they don t communicate well.

Misleading advertising. I am looking for a one-time mowing service and Ive found this company. Through their web page I selected one time service which is clearly an advertised option. Ive received a prompt call from a (very polite) representative who told me that its a misunderstanding and they offer one time services only to the customers already paying for their recurring services. In reality there is no misunderstanding, just dishonest advertising and total waste of time. Update: They are calling and messaging me every single day now to get me signed. Ive had the service for over a year now. Ive come to realize that they subcontract to very new or inexperienced people that are just starting in the industry. Quality of work is usually poor to fair at best. The crews get switched on you at random on a fairly regular basis. So even if you do end up with someone whos pretty good, they end up not sticking around for more than a month or so. Not at all worth the hassle. It costs just the same as it would with someone that has a reputable name in the industry locally. I just thought the convenience of having an app where I can make adjustments or pause service at the touch of a button was worth it. I have since realized I was mistaken. With this most recent blunder, which left my yard partially cut and where it was cut only patchy at best, Ill likely be terminating the service with them after if not before the end of the season

We set up a mow and no one showed. As the day got later, I called to find out when they were coming and was told I would receive a callback. I didn t. I sent a message to the mowing team on the app to ask the same and no one responded. Then I received an email saying they were finding a new team and would be coming 3-4 days after the scheduled mow. In addition, after I signed up I still got a call and several emails asking if I want to sign up. We are new to the area and this was not a good first impression.

This company is absolutely disorganized in their infrastructure. They were contacted to have someone cut the grass at my house. While the first crew was here they failed to even cut my whole yard, even after my next door neighbor was outside and told them that my yard ran farther back. All that they could say was they d be back and went on to their next job. Several hours later when returning home from work and with my two toddlers, we realized the house was over 86 degrees inside. Upon investigating, we found that they had weed whacked to hard against the AC unit and severed the power line. When contacting the crew they denied that they even weed whacked (even though that is part of their job and my neighbor saw them weed whacking around the house). After several attempts at reaching the customer service department, they said that I could send the invoice and they would repay costs to repair. I informed them that I wanted nothing to do with their business and they insisted that they still had a 3 cut minimum that I was obligated to still keep paying. Even after a week from the first yard service no one even came back to finish cutting my yard. Several months have passed and they still deny taking ownership of their subcontractors negligence in cutting the AC power line saying that if they damage your property you have to tell them that your AC has a power line running to it like every AC unit in America. They will not take ownership of any damages done to your property. Further update will be provided after legal battles play out in the court system to make them accountable.

I wanted to give everyone a fair warning of how this company works. I booked a mowing with them based on reviews that I had seen on Nextdoor. It seemed easy enough you just schedule online anytime you need some type of lawn care done. Our grass was definitely in need of a mowing and so I scheduled the next available appointment. That got rescheduled due to a little rain, so it ended up being about a week before someone could come out. Since our grass was on the longer side (probably close to 9 inches), I expected to have to pay a little extra. Their long grass fee states that youll pay 50% extra if you grass is 6-9 inches, and 100% extra if your grass is 9-12 inches. So heres how it then works... Someone shows up and takes a picture of your lawn. Based off of that picture, they determine how overgrown it is and what they are going to charge you. Initially my custom rate was $46. Guess what I was billed? 5X that! $226. Yes, $226 for a one-time lawn mowing. **UPDATE: All of that being said, I was contacted about my experience and the customer support I have received since then has been wonderful (thanks, Joey! :)). I think that the company does care about their customers, but because a lot of their work is contracted out, they are not in full control of each customer experience. Because of the lack of customization and the way I was put on the spot with my long grass fee (you either have to accept it, or rebook and then wait again for someone to accept your job), I can not give this company 5 stars. But I do appreciate the fact that they took the time to check in on me, and only charged me for what I should have paid in the first place. Therefore, if you are looking for an easy way to book lawn care, Lawn Starter should be able to handle all of your needs!

They came the 1st time and it was ok. Then, the next time, they cut my flower garden down to the ground along the back of the house where there was a brick border surrounding it. I have lived here for over 45 years and have prided myself ( as have my neighbors ) on how beautiful the garden is. When I made a complaint they responded, saying the crew said they had cut there before. If they had they would have received a complaint at that time. I, finally, reached someone on the phone, saying to respond to an email which would be sent to me and to include pictures. I had sent pictures with the first complaint. I have received an email, am sending pictures again and really hope I can follow up with a positive review . UPDATE .... You will regret this service. The biggest issue is zero accountability...on lawnstarter or the crew that is hired. The first few weeks all went okay. Then, the crew supposedly decided we didnt need out lawn cut one week (even though the grass was already extremely high). They clearly were overbooked and lied to us. Even worse, they did not inform us. We had to call to see why no one showed up. When we called to request a sooner cut ,they promised they would come...not once....but twice...and never came. It is much better to hire a dependable crew. There is absolutely no accountability with this service.

We have had an unbelievably terrible experience with this company as of lately. The crew was scheduled to come out and perform services as we had been using them for a while and had been very happy. The crew never showed up and we were not reached out to at all. Eventually we had to call them and were told that the crew they had been using had become unreliable and were let go and that we should expect a new crew in the next few days. A new crew never came to do the lawn and two weeks later, we called them back and were told that another crew would be out that weekend. Never showed. We have spoken to them over and over and continue to be told a new crew is coming out that weekend, then the next weekend, then the next. It s been a month since the initial crew was supposed to be here and STILL grass is not cut. It is very long now as their crew hasn t come in almost a month. FINALLY a crew was sent for an emergency mow while we were at work BUT THEY DENIED DOING THE SERVICE AND LEFT BECAUSE THE GRASS WAS QUOTE TOO LONG AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO RISK MESSING UP THEIR MOWER. .... that was the email we received while we were at work while we were so happy thinking it was finally going to cut. We are extremely upset and just want the grass cut as it was initially supposed to be. What terrible customer service.

I am very unimpressed by this company. Initially, I thought it was great! I love the concept and was excited to get started. However, it quickly went downhill. My first mow was sloppy and incomplete. I have tried reaching out to Lawnstarter and the mowing crew at least 6 times over the past week to discuss the issues and voice my concerns. The only contact I received was today when I was assigned a new mowing crew. I did not request a new crew and had, in fact, requested to cancel my subscription immediately. There is no way to remove my payment information and there is no phone number listed on their website...at least not one that I have found. It feels like a scam and I would NOT recommend working with this extremely unprofessional and sloppy company. ***With regard to your response, please know that I was NOT unable to figure out how to contact you. I am very well aware of the ways to reach out and I attempted contacting you through ALL of the ways you make available. The only time I heard from anyone was when I called however the representative was cold and unhelpful. She assured me that I would have proof of my account cancellation the day following our conversation and I have yet to receive that. Its been weeks. In fact, just last week, I was assigned yet another crew and had to cancel with them because I did not request another crew and have made multiple attempts to cancel my account with you. How very rude of you to put the blame on me for your shortcomings. You may want to take another look at your great support team. I have experienced some of the WORST customer service in any industry from your company. I refuse to reach out to you again since I have made at least 10 attempts. I used LawnStarter last year and it was wonderful! No issues at all! This year my yard has been nothing but canceled mows, new crews assigned then skipped, a sloppy job, a promise to have it fixed, and no shows! I am scheduled to have a mow every other week since April. I have had a crew actually at my property ONCE, it is now the middle of June. I have been incredibly understanding with issues due to weather and initial promises of new crews due to unreliability and customer service has been very easy to deal with...if what they said was on the books actually happened! I called customer service yesterday to confirm that I was still getting my lawn mowed (my crew was Supposed to be there between weds and thurs and never showed) I was assured I was and that they would get back to me with an ETA on the crew. Never heard a thing. No crew showed up. I called this morning and was informed that I was getting a new crew and they would be there Monday or Tueaday and that if I wanted to make sure they did their job by Tuesday, I could email my crew directly. No. That is why I am using LawnStarter, I should not have to email them to make sure they do their job. I am very understanding but this is ridiculous.

First time customer decided to try this service. Its been hard to find consistent reliable lawn mowing service since my original lawn guy moved. The internet seemed to show LawnStarter was a professional service and it seemed to have good reviews. I paid $17.01online in advance to setup my first discounted cut last weekend. My crew-Cole Brothers-Hunter Cole was supposed to cut Thursday, July 5th. They didnt show. Nina with Customer service said they had a 2 day window/ 48 hours to cut. They didnt show Friday. Customer service said they couldnt cancel and refund my money because they still had until sun down to cut my grass!?!!!? But they could cancel my request on Saturday. She suggested I message My crew to see what was going on. So, I did. I asked if he was going to cut my grass still, if not I will just let my neighbor do it. Hunter Cole said he was gonna come Saturday morning. The online site showed he rescheduled due to inclement weather but I was already told by customer service he was out Thursday and Friday mowing other lawns. He never showed Saturday...actually my Mom said she saw the truck drive past and never stopped. So, I then get a customer service email on Saturday that they canceled my mowing request, but would offer me a $10 credit if stayed a customer. I have yet to receive 1 cut from this company. But I already paid $17.01 and now they wanted me to stay, give me a $10 discount on full price $40. This really feels like a scam. Maybe its not, but its definitely extremely unprofessional. After my lawn guy moved I used to cut my lawn myself, but with my new job hours, I dont have time. I think I just need to make time to do it right myself and stop wasting more time and money on this unprofessional mowers. I would give this company negative stars if I could.

I booked Lawnstarters on Thursday 6/28/18 and was told my lawn would be mowed either the following Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday came and went and no one came to mow my yard. Wednesday was 4th of July so I contacted them on Thursday. I was told that they Did not have any teams with spare capacity in my area and they wouldnt be able to service my yard. 1. They should have told me this when I first applied, BEFORE they took my credit card information. 2. They should have contacted me Mon or Tues about this instead of leaving me hanging wondering on Thursday why my yard hadnt been cut. 3. They had the worst customer service Ive ever had. First I texted them at a number they contacted me from and was told to email or call them. I emailed and was told very bluntly that they wouldnt be mowing my yard, I then called to complain. I was put on hold for over 30 minutes before getting sent to voicemail. I left a voicemail on Thursday and still havent received a response. Again, WORST customer service Ive ever had. At this point I am expecting them to charge my credit card for the service they never provided, if they do I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because I cant give them 0 stars. Get it together Lawnstarter!

I called LawnStarter Sunday July 8th around 2-3pm. The woman on the phone was very nice and explained the different lawn care related services LawnStarter provided. The entire process seemed easy enough so I signed up for the required 3 cut minimum, scheduled my first grass cut and gave her my card information. I recieved my Welcome to LawnStarter email, downloaded their app and waited for Tuesday or Wednesday (July 10-11) for my lawn to be cut. I came home yesterday (Wednesday July 11th) evening to an uncut lawn. So I called today, Thursday July 12th, and the LawnStarter representative let me know that even though they already PROMISED a service within a specific window and took my CREDIT CARD NUMBER, they were unable to secure a contracted company to perform the orginially agreed upon services. She then let me know that I recieved an email notifying me of their inability to provide the previously planned services. The only email I ever recieved from LawnStarter was the welcome email minutes after scheduling my service. I then asked her to resend the email in question and she said there was no way for her to do so. She would have to put in a claim/request with the tech department to complete that action. I then have to ask her to delete my card number and account information so it is not there just floating around in their database, because that is not standard practice for LawnStarter. Okay a couple of issues with this. 1) Why would you schedule and promise services you DO NOT yet know you are able to provide (and in the end CANNOT)? 2) Why do you take customers PAYMENT INFORMATION when you do not yet know you are able to provide the services orginially agreed upon? 3) Why would you not let the customer know at ANY POINT during the onboarding/scheduling process that there is a CHANCE of the service not ever being provided? 4) Why would you take all of my information (address, phone number, email, etc.) and only use ONE method of communication to notify me that you are unable to provide me with the service I was expecting? I WOULD NOT schedule ANY services with LawnStarter. Contact your local lawn care providers DIRECTLY, so when you are promised a service you know that they are capable of actually providing it. I would not take the chance of LawnStarter attempting to hire a third-party contracted out company and having your house No Call-No Showed.

We have been booked and rebooked (always for a rainy day, as if a weather app doesnt exist) for a MONTH now. Shockingly, the grass hasnt gotten shorter in these rainy weeks. If they show up before Im devoured by the encroaching vegetation, Ill let you know if they do a good job. Edit: Im supposedly waiting on you guys to call back with the ETA now. This is for the account for James Lowe. You know, the one youve been rescheduling for a month? Second edit: The run around never ends. Emergency cut scheduled, but not done. New appointment, but not done. Never received our call from Jessica, who may be the manager. They cant even confirm a business address! Now, the story is that there arent any crews in our area. How has there not been any crew, at all, in Richmond city, less than 1.5 miles from your listed address?

Initially we had good service from LawnStarter. Then we had cancelation after cancelation. Our crew was supposed to come yesterday, but they quit and said they would not be able to do our yard anymore. I called and LawnStarter sent someone out tonight. They came to the house and my husband showed them the yard. They said they needed to talk between themselves. They came back to the door five minutes later and said they would not be able to mow our yard because LawnStarter did not pay them enough. I asked them to mow it, since they were already here, but they refused. I called customer service and told a young lady what happened, and all she said was Okay. I asked her if that was how they did business, and she said they hire outside contractors and cant be responsible for them. LawnStarter needs to work on their customer service and hire professionals who will work as promised. I had to cancel our subscription.

Chris of Lawnstarter just began cutting my lawn and he is doing an excellent job. He notifies me well in advance of any changes, follows up with me immediately with any questions through the Lawnstarter app and is doing a great job making my yard look terrific, especially during this rainy, rainy season. While he has cut only twice, I am looking forward to his continued excellent service and responsiveness. This service is so much better than our previous lawn cutting service that expected upfront payment and would come and go whenever he pleased and was difficult and unresponsiveness to quick questions. Maintaining the online monitoring system for lawn services is awesome.

My experience with this company has been nothing but horrible since the very day I signed up. Every single cut was done horribly with missing sections of my hard and uneven cutting. The crews never came out when they said they would and customer service just kept making excuses. I live in an HOA neighborhood and their lack of consistency was an embarrassment for my lawn in my neighborhood. DO NOT go with this company if youre in the Richmond, VA area.

Used lawnstarter to maintain landscaping on a home I had listed for sale and was not able to get to to maintain it myself. Lawnstarter was great because I was able to message different groups about my unique need, which was that my lawn was extremely small but still needed a quick weedwhack. Most companies I had contacted before lawnstarter wanted to charge the basic mowing fee of $50+ no matter how small the yard. Through lawnstarter all groups could view the size of my lawn and budget I was hoping for and I got Jacob from Jakes Lawns. He did such a great job. I had to return to the property twice while I was using lawnstarter and it looked impeccable. Not just the lawn but he took the time to edge and weedwhack any weeds in my walkway to the backyard. Being out of town, I appreciated all of the communications from lawnstarter about when service was going to be scheduled as well as when it was completed. Lawnstarter made it easy to pay and tip and also cancel service once I sold the home. Would definitely recommend if you dont have time to maintain your property or are moving and need lawn/landscaping maintenance you can trust while selling your home.

What is LawnStarter? I asked myself the question when I first saw them. They are a company that offers the service of sending lawn companies to your home. You will have the same company each time, so if you have plans for your lawn you can set up a goal. They sent Justin to our house and hes super polite and does amazing work. The price is right and if anything were to go wrong LawnStarter deals with the issue. They always have ways for you to save money and always want to know how your lawn looks. If its not up to their standards ( which are higher than yours) they will make it right

The guy who came out to service my yard is Clifford. I wasnt at home neither time he came but he did send me a message thru the mobile app to let me know he was on the way. I also received a message when the job was complete. I found this company browsing the Internet and Im very impressed with the work.

The app seems to work okay, but my experience with LawnStarter was pretty bad. I was initially excited about their business model and the convenience of using an app to order lawn service. So, I created an account and scheduled my first service for a Monday/Tuesday (the two-day service window). The team did not show up on Monday. Then, on Tuesday it rained. LawnStarter has a policy of letting you know if they cannot make it due to rain and reschedule your service. However, the team was very unprofessional and did not let me know this. I called into the help line for LawnStarter and the agent was extremely friendly and told me I could have the service done that Friday. When I was assigned a new crew two hours later (because that first crew could have been an anomaly), then the app indicated that my service was scheduled for the following week. I contacted the crew and asked them if Friday was possible, as the agent had told me, but they said no. I think it is pretty ridiculous to have your help line say one thing and your service providers say something completely different. The scheduling was a hassle, so for people who can wait 2-3 weeks to get their lawns mowed, then maybe this is a good option. However, where I live, the grass does not wait to grow until it is convenient for you, so this just ended up being a colossal waste of my time. I would not recommend this company to anyone. It is a good idea in theory, but the implementation is lacking.

Disappointed! I started using this company after my husband and I moved into our new home. The first 2 times, things went well and we had no problems with the service. Unfortunately, the 3rd time was scheduled the weekend of our housewarming and the provider notified us the day after our service was scheduled, the day right before our party, that he had equipment trouble and would not be able to make it until 2 days later which was a day after our big party. Because it was very last minute, I reached out to the provider first to see if he could refer me to someone to get it done before our party. When I didnt get any response from him, I reached out to Lawnstarter to see what they could do about sending someone else out. I was told that my issue had to go to their provider relations dept and they would be in contact with me. After 3 hours of no response, I called back and was reassured that I would be notified by their provider relations dept to see what they could do to get someone out. I even received a follow up email from customer service stating the same thing. I NEVER received a phone call or email from this provider relations dept. The customer service dept was professional but the company as a whole was very disappointing. When I cancelled my service, that is the only time that I received an email from someone with concern not when I actually needed them. I understand that equipment breaks down unexpectedly. My problem is the way it was handled (or not handled at all) and I will not be using this company again because of this.
