In these last months I have started with my contract with GSU. The onboarding process was amazing. The communication process is excellent and I can see and know that they are available and responsive. They are competent and thorough and I feel confident that I will finally have a yard that looks healthy and cared for. I have used big companies in the past, been disappointed in their work and their responsiveness and it is clear to me that GSU is very, very different in all regards. Highly recommend.

Our third time out with GSU in a little over a years. This time replanting the front yard after clearing an overgrown flower bed in November 2021. Ivan and the GSU crew were their usual fantastic selves. On time and very detailed. The GSU process, through their web site, takes all the guesswork out of the process. Scheduling an appointment was easy. Our design consultant was helpful in suggesting the plants to select. We give them a solid 10. Update, January 2024. Mulching was perfect. Dominic and crew exceeded our expectations. Another 10! Thank you. 11/26/24 another perfect experience! Thank you GSU Team.

This is an excellent team. Weve been delighted with the regular maintenance as well as two special projects. Great guys to work with.

Not happy with their service any more. Initially, they did a better job than any other landscaper I ve tried so far. Now after the first growing season has started, things have gone downhill. They slipped into the same groove that all the others found: they zip in, mow the lawn, and zip back out, as fast as humanly possible. They leave weeds and vines that were part of the original job description untouched. They left the hedges untrimmed for months until there were two foot tall spires growing out of the tops and the windows were becoming obscured. I had to nag for three consecutive weeks before they finally showed up and did the job. The excuse was that these things are done on a quarterly schedule. Well, my shrubs and weeds do not grow on a quarterly schedule. Im easy to deal with (if you do a good job), so I suggested an upgrade in the contract to cover the things that were not getting done in a timely fashion. I have repeated that request now three times, with no response whatsoever. I dont like having to complain to get a contractor to properly do a job, but I certainly would rather complain that pay good money for substandard services. Showing me disrespect by not responding to my emails was the last straw. Now, on top of all the other things I have to do, I have to interview another dozen so-called groundskeepers, hoping to find just one who can be trusted. I should also mention that I let them bid on doing my front walkway. The design they suggested was drab and unattractive at nearly twice any similar bid. I suggested one change to try to make it more palatable, and never heard back from them about it. Not impressed. They just do not seem to be interested in doing anything but lightning mowing and collecting monthly payments. This is a truthful depiction of the service I have received, and this review will not be retracted or edited.

1. Consistent - They show up the same time/every week. I dont have to wonder my landscaping team is. 2. Communication - Incredible communication. Almost too much communication but we appreciate it. 3. Quality work - They do a great job, every time. We ask them to do special projects and they knock them out.

We worked with Bill and his team on a lawn renovation project that included treating existing weeds, installing irrigation, and laying sod. Bill was responsive throughout the process and he and his team did did an excellent job. Were very happy with how the yard looks now and would recommend Green Side Up Landscaping for anyone in the Richmond area.

This company is totally focused on customer satisfaction and have done an excellent job of caring for our lawn and flower beds. If you are on a lawn maintenance contract with them, they are very flexible about doing exactly what you want in the yard. In our case, they weed our flower beds every time they come to mow and edge, Great communications!

I just used GSU for the first tme. They did a terrific job fixing parts of the yard where there had been old rotting treee stumps, cleaning up and re-edging beds, installing new plants, and adding mulch. I wouldnt hesitate a moment to use them again!

Mike was quick to respond by phone for a quote on leaf removal. He explained the cost structure; everything was transparent. We were added to the schedule; they came when they said they would. We have lived in our home almost 30 years. Both the front and backyard bed plants needed to be cleaned out and replaced. Last fall we did the front and in spring had something blooming all spring and summer. This fall(22) we had all ivy and debris cleaned from back and replaced with perennials and all mulched. We had GSU do a complete landscape installation. We gave them a plan we had drawn up by a local landscape expert and they executed it beautifully. They had to tear out our existing front beds to reinstall new, and install brand new beds around the other 3 sides. They were extremely professional every step of the way, communicating when they had trouble finding the exact match of plants and suggesting alternatives. Their on-site foreman was friendly and extremely polite, making adjustments I requested as to plant spacing, etc. I would recommend them highly to anyone looking for landscape services.

Randall and Thomas (Richmond) did a great job! They outlined exactly what they were going to do at 8 am, then proceeded to do it. I am very pleased with the appearance and now look forward to experiencing the improved drainage afforded by our new dry creek bed.

Spring mulching and bed cleanup was great! Very courteous and professional gentlemen kept us informed about their progress throughout the morning.

I highly recommend Green Side Up Landscaping. We hired the company for landscape design including both hardscape and plantings. They were able to create a beautiful patio area for us. The crew was very skilled and nice to work with. The landscape design took into consideration all of my requests. I was surprised I did not have to go back with any change requests. I would definitely recommend this company! I had a majority of my front mulch bed re-done. The guys came and removed everything in one day and then planted the next. Everything was quick, easy, and hands-off (I was at work while they completed the entire project). They also mulched a tree in the front yard with some extra mulch so everything would match. Not to mention I got the cheapest quote from Green Side Up (out of multiple companies). Such a great experience!

We had difficult landscaping issues to deal with at our new home. It had been in place for 30+ years and neglected before we purchased. We thought we could handle what seemed like a simple clean up of the space and soon discovered it was much more then we could handle. Green Side Up not only did a great job on what was proposed but also jumped in when we had to make new requests as we went.

GSU Landscaping installed roses and crape myrtle on property, cleaned weeds and put mulch. They were very prompt in service. The owner came to see me as promised, sent me estimate same day and after signing contract, did wonderful and professional job. The garden looks just beautiful now. I will use them again for any future landscaping services.

GSU removed two garden beds entirely, grading and seeding those areas. In other areas, they cleaned up all ground cover and weeds, or overgrown plantings, and installed new plants. The crew was efficient and careful, and we recommend them to others.

GREEN SIDE UP did an OUTSTANDING job with the transformation of my yard. It has been a multi-year process of removing small trees myself, then having bigger trees removed by professionals all to open up my yard. When they graded and put down topsoil, I couldn t believe how great it looked all before the grass seed was put down. Once the yard was seeded, it took a matter of six to seven days to see initial results which is what I was looking for and now, I have a full yard of grass! Green Side Up Landscaping was one of three contractors that bid on our job. Craig was prompt for our initial appointment, and had the quote to me the same day. The pricing was fair, and upon checking the companys online reviews we awarded the job to them. Bill reached out to schedule the job, and we stayed in communication over the ensuing weeks to confirm the dates. The crew arrived on time, and were extremely professional and friendly. They were patient with me as I made requests regarding placement of the plants, even moving things when I changed my mind after they had been planted where I initially instructed. I was not initially pleased with the installation of the flagstone path, but Bill came out the next day and agreed to make changes which were completed within one day. I cannot recommend this company any more strongly; they offered fair pricing and lived up to their commitments every step of the way.

Great, professional organization. For years Ive had trouble growing grass on my bank due to heavy shade. They recommended and installed a ground cover that seems to be thriving. Preparation of the soil and quality of the installed turf were great.

We just started service with GSU and our yard was in dire need of attention after several years of neglect. The crew showed up first thing in the morning and I dont think they quite knew what they were getting into prior to arrival. A crew of three worked all day with only a short break for lunch. By the end of the day our yard had been transformed with the prep in the beds by weeding, edging, and ultimately mulching. I had even moved several stone pavers in a flower bed as they were sinking into the ground. One of the guys took it upon themselves to replace the pavers, which I had intended to do myself. I would recommend GSU in the future.

This is an *excellent* company. We have a large property with extensive landscaping that we could never maintain ourselves. We worked with Craig and the Green Side Up team to clean up our yard, grade, add French drains, dry creek bed, 4 ornamental trees, define flower beds, expand our irrigation to the backyard and install sod. During the process they were very responsive to any issue or question we brought up. It s Day 2 after completion, but so far we are pleased with the way it turned out and so are our neighbors! Green Side Up removed an existing patio and landscaping and installed a beautiful 21by21 patio and adjacent car pad. The work crew was efficient and professional, completing the job in 2-1/2 days. Communication with the company was always responsive. Be aware that a hardscaping project like this may involve heavy equipment and lots of noise. Only wrinkle was damage to our irrigation system, which they repaired at our cost. I highly recommend Green Side Up.

Excellent landscaping contractor! Very easy to work with. GSU did a great job installing 7 trees for a privacy fence in my back yard. They are punctual, professional and the end result was excellent. Green Side Up is a full service lawn care and landscaping service. I have a big yard, large garden and no time. Green Side Up takes care of everything from mowing to weeding. After the work is done it is inspected by a manager to make sure the job was completed to my satisfaction. I notice a lawn problem, call Craig Attkisson, and it is immediately taken care of. They are professional, reliable, reasonably priced and they care about what they do and how they do it. Customer service is extremely important to me; they embody that business ethic.

The person who came to my home to review my patio project took extra time to consult with overlay experts and get back to me regarding several aspects of what I was about to do. This information made me reconsider the plan that another company had proposed and probably saved me from getting a less than quality job.

Great company to deal with on a variety of projects. Installed sod in my front yard a bit late in the season (my fault, not theirs) and a couple of months later it still looks amazing and healthy! Hired them to mulch part of my property - arrived on time, completed the job in a timely manner and even (more importantly) - cleaned up when they finished. Entire crew is great! Will hire them again!
