Green Dream Landscaping in Richmond

The company is a nightmare. They fail to do fundamental aspects of the job. They don t respond to calls or emails, but manage to demand payments they ve already received. Overpriced to begin with, yet they don t do the work. STAY AWAY. You ll end up paying other people to do what these clowns said they d do. I know, I ve had to do it numerous times already and I m doing it again right now. Once they get you to sign a contract, it s a totally different experience. Stay away. Do yourself a favor, call someone else.

If you want a responsive company, keep searching. I decided to have retaining walls added to my front yard and put the project out for bid. I contacted 4 companies and this was one of them. It took about 4 days for them to contact me back, which is not horrible but it gets worse. I schedule a designer to come out on a Friday between 3-4. Long story short nobody shows up and there is no phone call. Thanks for having me sit around and wait for nothing. The next day I call and leave a message stating I was frustrated nobody called or showed up. Yeah, it was Saturday so I didnt expect a call back until Monday. Nope, it was Thursday when they called and said I still am not sure why nobody showed up, would you like to reschedule. Hell no. I dont have time for companies that take days to contact back. Imagine if I did contract with them and there was a problem or change during the process. How long would it take to call back? A month or two? With so many landscaping places in Richmond I suggest you skip this one and call others. P.S. the other companies I contacted all called the next day or 2 and showed up at the scheduled time.

Trevor consulted with us about our request to prune five crepe myrtles and three service berry trees. The consultation and subsequent work were done promptly and well within our time frame. The workers were well supervised with excellent quality results. We also gained additional knowledge about our trees and received good value for the services performed.

We used Green Dream to install French Drains around our house. Their quote was fair and their work was high quality and quick. They showed up when they said they would. When we had an issue a year later they made it right. Highly recommended.

Green Dream was a dream to work with! They were super responsive and completed our drainage project AHEAD of schedule! We had purchased a house where the builder left a drain pipe that ended in the middle of our yard being buried underground resulted in water oozing for weeks following even light rain for a single day. The constant water killed the grass and stained the sidewalk. We reached out to several contractors looking for solutions. Green Dream had by far the BEST solution: 1) dig up the current drain pipe 2) extend it UNDER the sidewalk 3) punch a hole in the curb for an outlet This solution allows the water to freely drain without getting trapped underground. It also did not perturb the sidewalk or the curb shape, just cut a hole in it. The HOA was happy and so are we! Attached pictures of the before and after. Will definitely turn to Green Dream for all of our landscaping needs!

I have had several projects completed in addition to regular lawn maintenance. I had a drainage problem that they resolved and now my gutters drain properly and the water is carried away from the house. I recently had some overgrown, old dying bushes removed and new sod installed. It has transformed my front yard. Trevor and the crew are great to work with and do fantastic work. They even do odd jobs such as fixing a railing around my basement well. Thank you Trevor, Roberto and crew!

This is the second project done by the Green Dream. We were very happy with the first. Unfortunately with the second project we are not very satisfied. We ask to put 14 trees (evergreen thujas) to make some privacy fence. The work was done on time. After just two-three weeks the some of the trees start turning brown. I texted to the owner twice, the second time I attached photos, and ask for the advise. I didnt get any response from him. We were follow directions and water the trees for two weeks twice a day. So, I am not sure if that was our fault or the quality of the trees. The most frustrating thing is that nobody responded. I think the customer service is not the best at this company.

We originally contracted with Green Dream in 2021 to install a new patio as were so impressed we contracted with them again to resolve a long-standing water runoff issue on our property. They first reconfigured our ditch to ensure better water runoff near the street. The primary work, however, involved diverting water from two downspouts into a system that would then funnel the water into a sump pump repository which would, in turn, pump the water to my ditch at the street. The crew, as always, showed up on time, made valuable suggestions, responded to all our questions in a timely manner, and professionally and expertly installed our new drainage system. We couldnt be happier with the result. What is pictured is only part of the end result, much of which involved trenching the driveway and installing large PVC pipes to catch the runoff from the major downspout. Green Dream is indeed a dream!

We cannot recommend this company enough!! They turned our yard into the best looking one in the neighborhood. The water feature and lighting are seriously amazing. There s a special light on the water feature that you can t beat. Use this company- you will not regret it!!

Green Dream installed a new sidewalk to our garden shed as well as an area for raised beds, including a retaining wall. They took an unsightly, unusable area and made it beautiful and functional. We couldnt be more pleased with the results!

Very happy with the work from the team. The whole process was painless and efficient from scheduling an estimate to installation. Used them to both revamp landscaping and install exterior lighting. Very happy with both and compared their prices against a few companies and they were very reasonable and then exceeded my expectation in taking care of some other maintenance that was not part of the original scope of work

Trevor was extremely knowledgeable and worked with us to re-do our landscaping to fit our needs and style. We needed a re-do of our front and side landscaping (which was outdated and overgrown) and a removal of old beds, unwanted plants, etc. in the back yard. The team worked very quickly, but the work was of great quality. The process was organized and simple. The updated shrubbery is beautiful, we are so happy with it.

I had a serious drainage issue in my front lawn. Green Dream did an exceptional job fixing the issue. I could see right away that the lawn was starting to dry out once they began digging to install drains. The guys were here by 8 a.m. and stayed till almost 5 p.m. each day. They were professional and courteous as they provided answers to my questions and gave me daily updates. I am beyond thrilled with their work. I received quotes and design ideas from four companies. Green Dreams solution made the most sense. They were very responsive when rainy weather caused delays. I recommend them 100%.

Scheduled a quote in January, then scheduled service for early March, never showed up and no contact. I call, leave a message yet no call back. I call, get a live person they have to talk to owner who is in meeting and will call back...guess what, no call back. I cancelled other companies due to the knowledge and information proffered by this companies service technician. Communication is key, if there is a issue/delay etc I am sure it can be worked out, but without communication nothing can be done. If you want communication from a company, look elsewhere. So when they reply to this with a phone number and a call us what good will it do? I have called three times, fourth times a charm?

My wife and I recently used Green Dream Landscaping for our first major landscaping project as home owners. We had them come in and re-grade our front and back lawn and then put down Bermuda sod. Even though it is currently dormant this time of year, it is coming in very nicely and will look forward to nice lush green grass. We also had them paint our porch foundation and lay blue stone on our front walkway and steps, which turned out fantastic!! Finally, we had them put in a garden bed in the front for us to decide what we want to go in there. Working with Green Dream was a great experience. Trevor, Jerri, and their team were very accommodating, patient (with all our questions), and professional. They also provided constant communication with us throughout the entire process. We are extremely happy with their work and how our project turned out. We will most definitely reach out to them for any future landscaping projects and recommend them to others.

When we bought our house was amazing but the yard was an unusable swamp that held water for weeks at a time. Trevor fixed all of that and delivered a well-graded yard that drains quickly with fence to fence grass growing. I was shocked at the results and recommend him 1,000,000%. We got quotes from different companies but settled on Trevor because he clearly was a visionary that thought outside of the box to tackle difficult projects. He promised us fence to fence grass but we thought that would be impossible but that we would take whatever improvement he could give us. He quickly got us on his schedule and he and his very friendly team came for 6 whole days with great equipment, graded the yard, dug an elaborate system of trenches, made two driveway cuts, detention basins, sump pumps, drain pipes, and reclaiming and trenching and lining with rocks an old unusable old drain ditch. Amazing work, and when a few spots were still not draining properly, he quickly came back out and put in 2 more whole days of work making it right. Give my most high recommendation to Trevor and his team. Perhaps best of all, he didn t try to up-sell us on our project or tack on a bunch of change orders. He gave us a fair price for just the project we needed for now and stuck to it until the end.

I am blown away by the quality craftsmanship of my gorgeous new patio! We have a tricky yard with multiple elevations (some very steep). I didn t think it would be possible to have a beautiful and functional space. I asked for a modest usable space and they delivered a magazine worthy terraced patio with exquisite details. Trevor is fantastic to work with but he topped himself with the incredibly knowledgeable and personable Jeri Moon! She and Trevor walked me through every detail and were so patient with my exhaustive questions about gravel, drainage, etc. I felt confident the whole way. I can t say enough good things about the process, the end result, and the value.

My yard had some serious drainage issues and Green Dream Landscape provided excellent service by clearing a overgrown culvert and installing a dry creek bed for drainage. They also rerouted downspouts through underground drain pipes to route the water off my yard. They were professional and efficient and well worth the investment.

Green Dream installed a landscaping wall and slate stepping stones at my house. They were FANTACTIC. Everything looks amazing and the install crew was fast and efficient. They were on time and very polite. Great experience all around. I HIGHLY recommend these folks for any exterior project that you have, big or small.

We needed our beds cleaned, and our yard landscaped so that we could maintain it ourselves. We told Trevor what we wanted to do. He listened, asked questions and he came back with a plan. He and his crew cut no corners did excellent work and touched base to insure the project was headed in the right direction.

They did a nice job on a tricky irrigation problem.I did not give 5 stars since the job was just completed and there has been no rain to test the efficacy of the project but Im optimistic!

I used this company to dig a trench and install a sump pump so water wouldnt be sitting in my yard every time it rained. Looks good so far and excited to be able to use my yard without playing in mud.

They hit and damaged my fence and left. These people should be cancelled.

I started using Green Dreams in 2017 quite by accident when my normal lawn care company was too busy to handle the aeration and over seeding; they referred me to Green Dreams. I called and scheduled an appointment. The team showed up on time and did a great job. The spring of 2018 brought a thick full lawn to a once lousy contractor job(new home construction). I had them come back in September of 2018 to do the same job. I was concerned by mid-October that the grass was not coming in properly and called them. They scheduled an appointment for a weekday at a specific time. To my surprise Trevor (the owner of the company) came out as scheduled and walked the yard with me. At the end of our walk he suggested that they re-do the work and said they would take care of it. At that point Trevor left. An hour later he returned with equipment and seed redoing the entire yard himself. I WAS TOTALLY IMPRESSED WITH HIS HONESTY AND INTEGRITY. Based on my great experience with Green Dreams I took their reasonable bid to install an irrigation system. Again, the team did a great job and my lawn looks Southern Living picture perfect. All work was done as promised and backed up with their service guarantee. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them. I can t say enough for their ethics, integrity and value. Finally, there isnt a week that goes by when someone stops and asks me about my lawn. I have even had people knock at my front door to to esquire about the lawn. I contacted Trevor with Green Dream Landscaping to discuss issues I had with standing water in my backyard as well as around the foundation of my home. He came and did a walk through the yard and quickly went to work mapping out the plan to run the water away from the house. He was professional and polite and honest with the costs of such a project. As a homeowner, I was leery about the project and cost but couldnt be more pleased with how it all turned out. His team came in and hand dug the trenches and even worked through the rain to meet the deadline. He used Seven Hills Electric to wire the sump pump, and Jeff was great, showing my how the pump will operate. I had a previous contractor put a sump pump under the house before move in 3 years ago, and this was not done correctly, which caused more water issues and damage to my flower beds over the years. Now, my backyard is functional again, and all the water has been diverted appropriately. Thanks again to Trevor and his team for such a great job and giving back my yard space!

From my first phone call to get an estimate, Green Dream was truly a dream to work with. Everyone is pleasant and kind, and Trevor took my idea for my backyard and made it even better than I could have imagined. They have been responsive and timely - from estimate to completion my project took only 4.5 weeks, in the summer. The guys who came to do the work knocked it out in just 2 mornings, and they worked through some rain. I did a patio, new stairs on my deck, and got beds put in around my garage. I had plants already, which they were more than happy to plant for me after prepping the beds. The work on my patio is absolutely top notch. Green Dream team was exactly what I was looking for with my project. Brush and tree removal, drainage piping, grading, irrigation and sod. I now own a beautiful yard.

Trevor was quick to respond to our initial inquiry about having some drainage work done, and to talk about our massive mulch bed and walkway that needed to be re-done. Trevor and his team came up with a beautiful design that was simple and such an improvement to our curb appeal. We do not have green thumbs so Trevor recommended we shrink the mulch bed and expand the grass area instead (dirt around walkway). His team delivered an A+ walkway that was hand laid with pavers that looks great. Since working from home, I was able to witness his team from start to finish on the walkway, and I couldnt believe the detail and level of effort they put into completing this. There are a few other projects we had quoted up by Trevor that we will definitely tackle in the future! Hands down would recommended them for any landscaping or hardscaping needs!

Land drainage

Had a sprinkler system installed last summer. Slow to respond after they recvd payment. When this spring came around and we were waiting for them to turn our system back on, they did not even have the courtesy to tell us they were no longer in that business and that we would get a call from another co to turn it back on. After we had the sprinkler system installed, we also contracted with them to thatch and seed our yard. Part of the deal, was that they would cone back this spring to reseed any spots that needed to be redone. Getting that accomplished was worse than getting teeth pulled. Finally, with the help of Jessica who was very attentive and helpful it was done today. Trevor, the owner did not even have the respect to contact me regarding this transaction as requested, which does not say much for his reputation. So the job will get done, but there is little or no customer service from the owner and it s a very tiring and frustrating process. I would select another vendor for landscaping needs if i read a review like this

In one day their crew took care of what wouldve taken me all season. The workers were great and the owner was by during the start and after to ensure my satisfaction.

Last Spring, we had the worst yard in our neighborhood. Trevor, the Owner of Green Dreams, put a plan together and executed it. Overgrown shrubs...gone! Unhealthy trees...gone! We didnt even have a blade of grass in our backyard before they started. Drainage lines had to be installed, then the yard was regraded, with new top soil added! Green Dreams put in a sprinkler system and new sod was laid perfectly! They arrived exactly when promised and Trevor even worked alongside his men. This summer, we have the BEST yard! Love and appreciate all of the time and hard work Green Dreams did for us. We are truly grateful.

They added a zone in my irrigation system and landscaped my bed on each side om my sloping driveway. Very poor service. Grass was half cut and ask to end service and still kept coming now continue to bill for poor and services that should have been canceled
