After a number of positive experiences...Ive had a bad one....Over a month of trying....with 4 personal visits, 3 phone messages not one answered..left my email.......and I never got the Stihl part I ordered a month ago.... ordered from another Stihl dealer...and I had the part in 4 days....

Have had my ego mower in for warranty repair. For solo they stand behind the warranty and do what is needed but EGO needs help with their process. EGO takes way to long to get back to both Solo and the customer with a resolution. EGO needs to invest in a better customer experience.

Got a tune up for my lawn mower recently and they did a wonderful job. Oil change, air filter changed, cleaned the carburetor, got the blade balanced and sharpened and a basic cleaning of the mower itself. It took 3 days to get my lawn mower back. Price was very fair. Will be back.

I had and older model of a Sears Tiller. It was a machine my father used. I told Ryan about the problem I was having. He said he would look at it and knowing the sentimental value it had to me. He said he would do his best to repair it at a low cost. After looking at it, he fixed it and the amount of money it cost me was a surprise. Ryan has a great heart and a generous person. I would highly recommend people bring their machines to bet fixed here.

Took snow blower to Solo Motors in Oak Ridges on March 14 to see why my machine wouldn t start. I got there not too long before closing and Dan, Anthony and Alberto helped me fix it and helped me to get the heavy machine into my vehicle. They were as always amazing and very knowledgeable. These guys are great. They fixed and saved me $500 from needing a new pressure washer. They even showed me what to do to prevent the issue from happening again and how to properly store the unit in winter. They even cleaned unit. I pulled the cord once, and it started right away. I was floored! Would highly recommend their services.

Possibly the worst business I have ever dealt with. They don t even deserve one star. Last year, it took 6 weeks for them to finally pick up my tractor for repair, and that was after about 6 promises to pick it up, and failing to show up or call. I finally got it back after 2 weeks, a total of 8 weeks since the first promised pickup. Supposedly the repair was done. Fast forward to this season. As soon as I start it up, the same part breaks, and I am stuck again. I called and arranged with Dan a pickup, he said in 2 days. No show, no call. So I called them on the following Tuesday. The girl said I am on the pickup list for Friday. That was 4 weeks ago. Again no show, no call. I still haven t heard from them. I find the staff undependable, irresponsible, and lousy mechanics. The receptionist has the worst phone manner of anyone I have ever dealt with, and should not be allowed to speak to customers. Do yourself a favour, find another repair shop. Stay away from Solo Motors!0

Not even a Husquvarna dealer but helped me with a problem I had with my clearing saw and didnt charge me. Good business sense and nice guy.

Last week, August 17th dropped into shop to have my STIHL gas blower looked at as it was not powering up. First time at this repair shop. Had the good fortune to meet up with Dan who told me to wait while he looked at unit. Didn t take him more than few minutes to see that I had used an incorrect mixture of oil and gasoline. Dan asked me to wait a few minutes while he flushed wrong mixture out and filled with correct oil gas mix ratio. Didn t take long for Dan to start my machine up after this. Can t say enough of Dan s excellent customer service. Thank you!!!

They dropped off his snow blower, started it up for him and made sure he was happy with their work before leaving. He insisted that I left a good review because they were so deserving and continued to reiterate that they had a separate, more genuine mentality aside from big brand names and he would be absolutely returning. 10/10 recommend. Amazing friendly service from an expert repair shop! My Home Depot Ryobi Strimmer had been very difficult to start for some time, and I was considering throwing it out and buying a rechargable one when I remembered a small engine repair shop on King Road and thought why not?. Solo Motors actually WASNT the shop I had in mind, but I spotted it by chance and went in. I felt a little out of my league looking at all the gleeming professional-grade machinery they had hanging on the walls - like a man bringing his beatup old Datsun into a Maserati Dealership - and I wondered what they might charge me to treat my ugly duckling, perhaps in a bid to get me to buy one of their top of the line devices instead. But I needent have worried. Ryan was very friendly as he looked over my machine, and made a number of suggestions about possible causes and the tests theyd run to see if the machine was salvageable, and he agreed to fix it for the price Id asked, or pronounce its last rights and not change me anything. I got a call to come in just a couple of hours later, and Ryan told me hed stripped the engine down, cleaned everything, replaced the spark plug and filled the tank with the proper mix of gas and oil - 50 to 1 - and it was just fine now. I reached for my wallet but Ryan told me No charge. I was stunned - hed worked on my grubby old machine and done everything Id asked, even filled the tank and he wasnt charging me??? I tried to insist on paying, but Ryan wouldnt take my money. In the end he suggested I could buy some replacement pre-mixed gas and pointed to a little can of gas for about ten dollars, but that just didnt feel like enough so I reached for the big 5 litre tank instead and bought that. Im not suggesting that anyone should ever go to Solo with the expectation of getting their old stuff repaired for free, Im sure Ryan just took pity on me - maybe he saw my little car parked outside - but next time I need something serviced I know where Im going, and I will insist up front on paying double, the service is really that good.

Just had my snow blower serviced. It was picked up and returned to my house in less than 4 business days. Very impressed, especially in these times where finding local help can be difficult. Would recommend to anyone looking for small engine/equipment servicing.

Solo Motors hits another home run!! Called them but got VM. Did not leave a message but they saw my number on their phone and called me back. I dropped off my snow blower. They had it fixed in two days. When I went to get it not only was it repaired but they added a safety feature and cleaned it thoroughly. I couldnt believe the reasonable price tag. When I was loading it on my trailer they saw me struggling with my tail hinge and came running with tools and parts to replace it. Wow. I recommend them to everyone.

I dont mind if a repair was going to take longer than expected however I was told multiple times my part would be ready the next day, when I dropped it off, and for the next two consecutive days. When I called to inquire no one answered and when I went to the shop itself they promised it would be ready the next day. I dropped it off Thursday and recieved my part back Tuesday but was promised each day it would be ready by the end of the day. Just give it to me straight and dont mess people around. Time is valuable. My repair was done well and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

I had an issue with a bent blade on my electric lawn mower. I looked them up, called them and left a voice message. I received a call back immediately indicating that they don t sell that particular brand. They said that they looked it up and that Canadian Tire (Aurora) had the blade in stock. They went on to say that once I picked it up, they would be pleased to install it for me. I brought my mover and replacement blade to them yesterday and I picked it up this morning. When I asked about cost for the installation, I was told that it was on them. I tried to insist but they would have no part of accepting money. They even asked if they could help put it in my car. Quality, old school service mentality!

Dan was great, they didnt have the air filter we needed for an older chainsaw but he blew out ours and got us on our way. Thanks for the great service, well keep coming back.

I thought the review about the work they did for free was fake. Anyhow, they did the same for me, fixed my chainsaw and didnt charge a dime for that. Thats what I call good customer service. I dont expect that everything will be done for free, quite the opposite, I will return and I will be happy to pay for the services.

I had my snow blower repaired here over the summer. I was moving and wanted to have the blower serviced and delivered to an elderly couple that I was giving the blower too. The guys not only picked up the blower, kept it over the summer but also delivered it to the elderly couples home in Richmond Hill last fass. The servicing had not been done on this machine for the 10-11 years I owned it so they tuned it up and adjusted the belts and the price was very reasonable. Then this winter I went to start the machine and it started fine but stopped shortly after. I checked the gas and it still wouldnt start. (helpful tip to all,,,, wear your glasses when you check the gas). I called Solo Motors and they guys came and checked the machine but I wasnt there. Over the phone we talked and while they thought it was the fact there was no gas in it, they took it back to the shop, checked it all out and returned it at no cost. Even though it was clearly my error (and yes, I now wear my glasses more), they refused to take any money. I have used Solo Motors for other repairs in the past on my lawnmowers and as always, the service is very good, they guys are very thorough and the price is very reasonable. I would recommend Solo Motors if you have the need for small engine repairs or tune ups. Great Job guys!!!

I took in my chainsaw today because it wouldnt cut any more. It turns out I had put the chain on backwards, and although it cut through wood for a while, the chain eventually became damaged beyond repair and didnt work any more. The guys quickly recognized the problem and installed a new chain. They did not make me feel foolish, instead they took the time to teach me how to install the chain correctly. Thank you very much. 5 stars for excellent Customer Service. PS To the reviewer who complained....the wood carving is gone. The store is very clean and neat, and the guys there are very helpful.

Recent excellent repair of my JD lawn tractor , which Ryan dropped off at the house after hours. Also , a more difficult rototiller fix which required lots of back and forth but eventually worked out . Andrew , the mechanic, is top notch - very meticulous and organized. Ryan is very cheerful and people-friendly, although sometimes misses deadlines , but only because he really wants to help his customers. It would be great to see them in a larger space with 1 or 2 more staff !

Very disappointing service experience . Dropped off a chain saw for a simple tune up, that was to be done in one week. After week two it was not started. At week three the store was closed and no one ever answers the phone and you cannot leave a message. At week four, my fouth trip there, it was still not started, so it took back. Lots of promises and excuses, but no service. Never again.

Despite being jammed due to big windstorms and spring finally being here, they were able to take a quick look at my chainsaw that had not been run in a couple of years and got it going right away. Only charged me for a new spark plug!

I took my lawn tractor into Solo about January of 2017 3 months later I pick it up, still not running but sold a new carbourater and fuel pump, both still in the box. Jump forward 15 months. Solo, under new owners. I stop by and introduce myself to Ryan and Andrew. I take the tractor back in and 2 weeks later, not 3 months, I get a call from Ryan, the tractor is running and ready. I was so impressed by there professionalism and knowledge, that I have become a life long fan of Solo engines. Its like finding a good Doctor or Dentist. Dropped in yesterday to pick up some whipper snipper line for trimmer. I asked them if they serviced any other brands other than stihl and echo, they ask to me to bring it in (Luckily in the car) and they fixed on the spot for a very fair price. Great service !!!! Im going back.

A big thank you to the staff at Solo Motors! Yesterday I went there with my lawn mower with what I thought was a seized engine; the motor wouldnt turn at all. They quickly discovered that I hadnt cleaned the underside after the last cut last Fall, and the grass clippings had dried solid. They cleaned it out , it roared to life, and they gave it back to me , all at no charge. I now was ready to tackle the first cut of summer 2018. Lets face it , I dont know much about mowers, and this was obvious. A business with less integrity would have kept my mower, called me up later with a made up diagnostic, and presented me with a bill when I went to pick it up. I really appreciate Solo Motors honesty and the quick and friendly service they provided me ! I highly recommend this local business!

This is a great little shop. Dropped off my lawnmower for pre-season service; Andrew did a great job, explained everything he did to me, how to maintain the lawnmower over winter (no more old gas!) and did what he could to sharpen my blade. Ordered me a new one, it came in the next day and he installed it within 5 minutes. Top notch service, very reasonable prices, and great workmanship. Ill always bring my power tools to you guys!

These guys are willing to help solve problems. Went in with a 10 year old trimmer, gas line and pick up needed replacing. They took care of me immediately and resolved my issue and even adjusted the carburetor. Trimmer works like new!

Brought in my broken lawn mower handle to see if they would sell me a new one. Rather than take my money and give me a handle that wouldnt be right for my mower, they welded my handle (in 25 minutes!) and sent me on my way. No short cuts, but honest, helpful customer service!

Dropped by today with my grass trimmer that I had bought at this location years ago. Found out that the shop is now under new ownership/management. They were able to easily pinpoint the problem that I was having with my trimmer (dirty, clogged-up spark arrester in the exhaust), and fixed it on the spot in about 15 mins !! Unbelievable service, I fully expected that I would have to leave the trimmer there for a week and wait for the repair (I know for sure that would be the case at many other places). While I was there I picked up a new spark plug, 2 stroke oil and some line for the trimmer. Super fast, super friendly service from Ryan and the staff - these guys are trying to build up their business and in my humble opinion, they re doing a fantastic job at it !!! I was reluctant to bring in my chainsaw for repair today since two other shops had refused to look at my older model. Andrew however understood the problem with the saw and advised me of a simple fix . He gave me a new rope and took the time to show me how to fix the recoil mechanism. Truly an owner who understands customer satisfaction. Definitely I would recommend using his services.

I just picked up our MTD Snowthrower and could not be happier. Everyone here is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and honest which is so very rare these days. Im not sure how Aboriginal people would take it when they see a wood carving of achief standing in front of the doorway when you enter. It May be considered racist to some. As I waited for service I could see the female behind the counter being aggravated by one of the customers who kept asking questions about a carburetor part he needed. She failed to acknowledge my existence until a gentleman for the back came out to help the customer with the carburetor issue. The lady whom ,I had spoken with days earlier, told me to bring the part in and she would replace it. Told me it would cost between 35 to $50. When I got there she asked why I didnt bring the whole unit? I showed her the piece that I needed replaced and she continued to be unhelpful and belittling. She looked on the Shelf which he should have done,over the phone days earlier as I drove 45 minutes out of my way to find this place which is essentially a small shack. And none of the pieces on the Shelf match the model number that I had. So essentially she had no part for me and it was 45 minute drive out of my way to find this out from this bitchy woman. (Sorry just venting)I do not recommend this Mom and Pop shop; its too bad because I could see it being better run even though it is a tiny facility. Customer service recommendation :1)ALWAYS greet the customer when they walk in the store , even a wave or a nod or smile if you are busy with another potential client.2) Get rid of theIndian carving . How many natives would be offended? 3) Try to answer questions on the phone and confirm that you have stock. To go out of my way to discover you dont is aggravating! 4) You cant please everyone,but you wont please anyone if you dont even try. Caveat; maybe she was having a bad day? Will all can.

Had to get a new air filter for a gas pressure washer. Fast. New exactly what I needed. Relatively inexpensive. Have had other things fixed and sharpened here with good results and adequate customer service. Theyre businesslike and to the point.
