Worst customer service ever. I requested at least 6 different times to have my applications only done on Thursday and all summer 2023, and my 2nd application this summer they tried to come on a different day. Not being able to talk to someone at the local location is absolutely garbage. Their call center is horrible.

Not impressed with this company. I signed up for their services. The guy was on site for less than 10 minutes and just went to the door and the side where I have gravel. I have cameras and watched the guy after the fact. They did not do what they said they did. This is not how you do business.

Updating my review, after having a bad experience with someone not even showing up to my house and doing the work but saying they did and charging my account I left a bad review, almost immediately some one from TruGreen was contacting me and doing things to make it right by me. They had me rescheduled and had someone other than the last guy come out and do the proper application. The guy that came out (Glen) called me when he showed up and made sure he knew exactly what was to be done and also left a ticket behind to assure me that he was there because I wasnt able to be home at the time he arrived. Please always send Glen to my property!!!!!

So these clowns go and drop their mystery mix at my apartment complex plus the other two complexes next to us, and all three complexes allow dogs. Basically, we are forced to walk our dogs a quarter of a mile before we can let them on the lawn. As for what they dropped/spread all over the place, well, that is a mystery because between all three complexes, there was only one sign with only the statement to keep off the lawn till dry. Well, thanks an efin bunch! I will never use your services, NEVER! I am sure, having many years in the landscape profession, that there were supposed to be more warning signs. On behalf of all the people unexpectedly inconvenienced this morning while trying (to walk their dogs and needing to be at, let say work, school or a scheduled appointment on time) because some numb nut bag decided to save some time I give my negative oppinion about this company. Obviously, the environment is not at the forefront of your companys concern. Otherwise, plastering three city blocks with your toxic brewhaha would not have been on your schedule. I need not state the obvious to readers of this review. However, in the off chance that someone in TruGreen (that matters) happens to read this, you didnt think about the citezens that live here. You didnt think about our children nor our pets. TruGreen, you SUCK! The review comes down when your company issues an apology on KOTA news station and on a full-page spread of the local newspaper and does no kind of advertising on such page.

I have used Tru Green for many years. However, this year I decided against using chemicals due to environmental concerns. When the technician came in March I told him I would not be using the service this year. When I got home on April 18, Tru Green had been here and sprayed. Today I called to explain and to make sure you understood that I would no longer use your service. I was told that I would have to pay one half of the charge for the spraying. This happened a few years ago also. Due to these two instances, I feel I was not listened to. The way it was handled felt sneaky and underhanded. Therefore I am closing my account and will not be using Tru Green in the future. Very disappointed.

Tru green has transformed my yard into a weed free and very green lawn. We saw results in the first week. The yard was full of thistle and dandelions . A couple areas needed extra attention and they came out and took care of it right away. Their automated texts and service is excellent. Thank you

Cannot get these people to treat the back yard. The techs have to walk past the back yard to get to the front yard and they still won t treat it. Every month I have to call. Every. Single. Month. And when I call every month, I get routed to a horrible call center. Plant weeds. You ll be better off.

Friendly and good application of lawn product today.

Sales individual left a flyer between my home door and storm door. Since the storm door wasn t shut all the way it resulted in a broken window. Upon contacting the local office to resolve the issue, I was sent to the corporate hotline and no resolution has been made to fix my door. Update: local office fixed the broken storm door.

Yard fertilizing and weed control

I have used them in the past and when I canceled my services with them they called every week for 3 months. Then just this week,I put in a request for my new house, and I was getting 8 to 12 robo calls from them a day. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with customer service to get my number off of their list. I chose a different company.

Horrible Customer service, workers flipped me off

Ive gotten a refund check for services I did not ask for they charged me $245 when I was quoted $40, they refunded me and now they have been calling the last 30 days consistently calling me telling me, my account is passed due, which was closed, and trying g to get me to pay the money that was refunded to me.

My lawn and yard were not healthy, did not look good. TruGreen reversed all that, and now its healthy and alive!

They did spray the entire yard for weeds. Was hoping for fertilizer but that must be next!

Customer service is exceptional! Zach called me to discuss best time to spray because I have dogs. His progress could be viewed online, then he gave a great recap for me after he was done. Highly recommend!

Paid for a year of service up front. After the year was finished I chose not to renew my Services. Instead they automatically charged me for services and fought me on the refund for a while. Not great service anyways hire someone local.

I was comparing prices for lawn care and I was talking to Andrew. He seemed nice at first. He gave us a couple days to think on it and we decided against the services and he says whys that? I said we decided against it. I was thinking in my head... (Businesses dont need to know more than that I dont have to explain myself) he then goes so you dont care about your lawn then? That personal attack was really rude and I will never go with trugreen in the future. Not if customer service like that is acceptable for thier business. Andrew was rude and I dont recommend this company to anyone!!!

Our lawn looks a lot better than when we tried to weed and feed the lawn by ourselves.

Keith Rhudy, our lawn care specialist, was available and willing to provide information needed to make our lawn in better condition. Weve had ongoing issues with bare spots in our lawn here and there. Keith was able to give us recommendations that were solutions and reasons why. He took his time explaining the reasons why each application would be a solution. That helped us make a decision on what was the best course of action to take.

They lie ,cheat , and steal constantly.

Customer service is extremely rude and hang up when they call me. They tell you that you can get extra service when you have weeds and push you off until your next appointment date. They make excuses for why your yard is the way that it is. Didn t find the value to money spent on it.

Idiots, poor customer service.

Unfortunately I cant give a negative star rating. Avoid this company. They misrepresent their product in order to get you to sign up for the service. After they have you signed up they then want to charge you more money for the products that they told you were included when you signed up. The Rapid City office employees including the manger Rick are extremely rude and disrespectful.

I called on 3 different occasions just to schedule a treatment for my lawn. Each time I called I was told a manager would be contacting me, but each time I never received a phone call from anyone. Apparently they don t care about customer service or selling new business. The best part was being on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes for all 3 calls just for the same sorry excuses as to why no one called me.

BLUF: Do research and buy your own fertilizer and weed killer. TruGreens performance does not match their price. My experience with TruGreen can simply be summed up as a disappointment. I signed up for fertilization and weed care and they honestly did a good job with regards to fertilizing my lawn (thus the 2 stars). The disappointment lies within their care of the weeds. I legitimately have more weeds today than I did at the beginning of the treatments. I just had one of their employees over who only fertilized the lawn and ignored the treatment for any of the weeds. Besides the standard weeds you might find in your yard, I also have these nasty tree sprouts throughout my backyard. The employee stated in the note that I just need to mow my lawn more often and they should go away. I mow almost every week for the past three months and was just hoping that TruGreen could help alleviate the work Im having to do. EDIT: After reading this review, TruGreen attempted to right a wrong and apply a free service to win my trust back. I can still confirm that their weed service is borderline useless. The worst thing though is the constant barrage of calls they send me asking to revamp my service and that theyre so sorry they couldnt resolve my issue. I would recommend going somewhere else for lawn care service.

I have had TruGreen now for about 10 years. Before that,, I tried to take care of my yard as far as weed control and health. I always felt frustrated because it never looked very nice with the effort I put into it. My yard now is beautiful, thick, and no weeds. I am grateful for the service os TruGreen.

I prepaid a year for full services and was semi happy with the service. However, after the year was up I requested no further services at my residence. Of course they did not listen and performed a service. Now I have to pay the bill. I really want to be done with this company but the amount of phone calls and emails is ridiculous. Everytime they call, I ask for them to please stop calling me. I am no longer interested in trugreen services.

Margie was extremely rude when we decided not to have services done due to cost. Then they showed up the next day to spray, good thing I was home otherwise they would have sprayed anyway and charged us. Very very unprofessional.

I can not recommend a service that will take your money one day and not provide service as described. My first service consisted of a lazy technician spraying my front yard for a total of 2 minutes 56 seconds. Then leaving. When I called to check on the work order they noted the front and back yard were done fully. My front camera told a different story. So unless you have a way to prove they are doing the work like a camera I would think twice before hiring them. Manager called and asked for a second chance which I agreed to. I understand every place has bad apples. Now two weeks after that phone call and the weed bed spray I paid for 2.5 weeks ago has yet to be done and when I asked them to give me my money back 1 week ago, they don t know where my money is . I told the manager I wouldn t don t like leaving negative reviews. But being that I have waited over 2 weeks for my money back or for the service I paid for to be completed. I think a review is warranted. *update, I have been refunded for the weed spray I did not receive, but in the end I paid $27.57 for a technician to spray my front lawn for under 3 minutes. Still would not recommend this service.

Great service

This year was not worth hiring TruGreen. After almost every treatment I still had weeds left in my yard. I called for the service man to come back and treat weeds, and he called from my front yard, and told me I hadnt waited long enough and he wasnt going to spray...rude! The second time I called for service to come back and treat for weeds again, I ended up going out and pulling weeds by hand. I know we had a very wet summer, but if you cant do a service properly, dont sell your service! I had hired them in previous years, but this year I definitely wasted my money. I dont think I will again. ...I do want to add that the representatives on the phone were wonderful, they are the only reason for 2 stars!

If i could leave a 0 star review i would. First year they took care of my grass, everything looked good. This year is a whole different story. They burnt the living daylights out of my lawn. The technician told me they ACCIDENTALLY let spray in the tank over night outside and the spray itself got really hot. Almost killed all of my grass in my back yard. About half of my grass in the backyard is living at this point and some out front is dying as well. After a month i finally had a manager call me (supposed to contact you in 24 hours).He apologized and stated they will do a free no charge to me aeration service and reseeding on my lawn. (AWESOME, this might not be so bad once my grass comes back). Called yesterday to get on the schedule of overseeding, they said nope we will have to have a manager call you. By the time a manager calls me there will be snow on the ground. Not too impressed with this company at this point. Cannot ever talk to a manager and thats who you have to talk to in order for anything to get done.

The national call center says one thing the local office says another. My plan didnt change from year to year but all of a sudden Im getting spot sprayed for weeds and no fertilizer and Im paying for fertilizer and weeds. The 1st year I had their service they sprayed the whole yard every time they came out with weed and fertilizer, the 2nd year until August they sprayed the whole yard for weeds and fertilizer and then in August they started spot spraying for weeds and no fertilizer, and my plan didnt change. I dont know what happened but I can no longer use there service or recommend it, because theres no guarantee youre getting what you pay for.

Literally just had a representative hang up on me because I said I was not interested in there service. Highly unprofessional.

I wish I could do zero stars, but that is not an option. Joe came out and was very personable and professional. The issue I had was they told us the application would be $45 and when everything was said and done it was $102 with no advance warning. I called and spoke with their customer service department and they told me their was nothing they could do about unless I was to keep their services. I told them I did not want to do business with a company that was not up front with me. They acted like I should know their business and when treatments should be done. I am sure their product would have benefited my lawn and I knew what their prices were before each application, but that was not explained at the time of the application.

They said my lawn was turning brown because of lack of water 9 in of rain in the last 2 weeks with my well running 24/7 is not enough water apparently they have destroyed my lawn I would give them a zero rating if I could they could at least contacted me I ask for the manager to call me which out of respect he did not they said it was some kind of a disease real strange cuz everything they sprayed turn brown the rest of my yard is pretty in green

Why are they getting a 1 star you ask? Well last year I was impressed and renewed my service this year and added tree care. Yesterday the technician that goes by Heath M arrived and left without applying the treatment to my trees. He stated my gates were locked, which is 100% a lie. I have locks on them that are left unlocked 100% of the time. The ONLY reason they are on there is because my three dogs know how to open the gates and I do not want them to escape and get hit by a car. I called to complain and he continued with his lie saying he tried to open the gates but they were locked. I dont take kindly to liars. He will not be allowed to service my address going forward IF I keep my service. Today a technician by the name of William B had ZERO issues getting through my gates (which I have not touched since I mowed on Saturday btw, so that means they were unlocked) and LEFT MY GATE OPEN! Had that been the far gate, I would not have noticed before I let my dogs out and they would have escaped! I am beyond angry right now!!!! Unless they make this right, I will not be using TruGreen again. If something would have happened to my dogs, they would have a huge lawsuit! I cant have children, these dogs ARE my family.

They do awesome work

Best Trained group! All of the men and woman arrive ready to apply the scheduled app. They tell me what they will be using an what I should expect in a short time. They all know their job.

First time I call them and probably the last. They treated my neighbors house 4 houses away with her address displayed in 4 locations! How is that even possible. Clearly the people they hire are not paying attention to what they are doing. I think I will go with Warne chemical next time.

My mother insists on using TruGreen Lawn Care. I have spoken with very nice people on the phone and at her house. Because of drought the last two years, and her not being capable of watering, they have completely burnt the grass in the boulevard and cannot seem to kill the weeds. I have many pictures of weeds at her home the last three years and have called them repeatedly. Yet here are the weeds tall and proud in her boulevard.

I feel that the TruGreen service that I receive is worth the value for the money spent especially in the spring when everything is starting to grow in your lawn. They maintain a great looking lawn for the season.

I was not at home on the last visit, but I met Ron before. He was very friendly and informative. My yard look so much better than my neighbors I can tell where mine ends and theirs begin. I think that for the price that I am paying is worth the beauty of my yard.

If you ever consider using TruGreen for your lawn service, think twice about it. They consider themselves a utility and feel if you are signed up with them, you are signed up for life. Today when I came home there was a stake that TruGreen did my lawn. I called and they said you have to cancel after the previous year or they will continue to come out. Interesting!! The reason I did not choose to use them this year is they did a terrible job last year. In one instance the lawn got more brown as the summer went on with lots of water. I called and they said that it was diseased. I said they didnt fertilize. I finally convinced them to put an application of fertilizer on and it perked back up. I guess you know my feelings about TruGreen.

I just got a bill for lawn service on my new house after I have a signed receipt from truegreen for the entire year prepaid by the previous owners. When they called to collect, the young lady at the counter could not tell me why we were being billed other than that the past owners must not have paid a balance before they prepaid for this year and this lady said that now falls on us. When I tried to have a conversation about what we could do about this bill that should be going to the previous owners, she said that she will just put this bill to collections and hangs up . They will not answer my phone number now. I am forced to pay this bill to prevent being sent to collections. DO NOT ORDER LAWN CARE FROM THIS COMPANY. If that is how they conduct business by threats of collections and hang up before you can even plead your case then I will recommend any other service over this one. Extremely rude and unprofessional.
