Black Hills Landscapes in Rapid City

Chris (the owner) and his entire crew were great to work with. Chris met with us to discuss the plan to landscape our new yard. He shared wonderful ideas and gave us plant suggestions as we were new to South Dakota. We went with sod, a sprinkler system, concrete curbing and blue stone. I wish I could post a picture. It turned out perfect and we love it. Another landscaper caused an issue in our neighbors yard that directly effected us. Chris met with us, our neighbor and the neighbor's landscaper to resolve the issue. Chris ended up doing extra work that he didn't have to do to help resolve the problem. He was responsive, professional and a pleasure to work with. His follow up on the sod and sprinkler system were wonderful. He told us everything we needed to know to care for our new yard and plants. Chris and his guys are awesome! We initially hired him a few months back to place some boulders and we were impressed with his quick response. Recently had some issues come up with our sprinkler system and the original company that was supposed to fix it. Sent him an email and within a week the issue was resolved which included adding a new zone, fixing a broken pipe, and rewiring the control panel. Highly recommend these guys!

Chris and his crew were very responsive to my wifes needs. They did a good job shaping the ground, and installing sod and rock. They made us feel like a priority which I have found rare in contractors. We had a hick-up at the end but they handled it professionally.

Terrible service. Worst experience of my house construction process. Sod installation was terrible. All the plants they planted died and had to be replaced. It took a month to remove a plant that I insisted they not plant.They had to come back to lay sod and then didn’t turn the sprinklers back on so that all died. Should’ve had a clue when the crew spent the first 30 min of the day huffing on their vape pens in my yard and drinking coffee. Then they left their coffee cup trash in my landscaping and never picked it up.
