Their professionalism begins in their front office with Stephanie, who does the scheduling, and runs directly to the teams that do the work. They absolutely know what they are doing. I highly recommend this company, we had approximately ten large dead pine trees from the last couple hurricanes that posed a serious danger to our house and the crew cut them down quickly and with care. Great customer service and did a fantastic job!

Ive used Florida Tree many times and always a great job. Had mangroves trimmed, large trees removed that had died and they clean up the area to make it look nice. Also are very attentive to mangrove purpose and longevity.

Florida Tree men showed up at 8am as promised, the did a great job trimming all 30 of my palm trees giving each a hurricane cut. The guys did a through clean up,put all the branches in the truck. They also took out three tree stumps and raked it all out neat. I would like to say thank you also for putting my weather vane back up on my barn while tgey were there. Good job great people fair price.

Terrible. Dont use these guys. I asked them to clear the trees from my roof,.They came back with an estimate that said they were oak trees. But when they said the job was done there were still trees touching the roof. The job was to clear the roof! I dont know what kind of trees they are. They said they were only hired to do oak trees and would only come back and finish the job if I paid them more money and actually got quite nasty about it. Th

Large Heritage Live Oak Tree in our backyard. It had a large trunk that was dead in the center of the tree. It was in desperate need for a big trim. The quote was reasonable. Next day they were out half hour earlier than they said and worked hard. They cleaned everything thing up . Nice job

Florida Tree was awesome. Nick and crew were very professional and I would not hesitate to use them again. They have some awfully big toys that reduced two 65 foot, house threatening trees to mulch in a safe controlled manner. Watching them work was a pleasure. Florida Tree & Ground Maintenance came out today to remove 2 large Washingtonian Palms that had grown too close to the house & fence. They were well prepared with equipment to safely take down the trees and grind the stumps. Our yard is narrow and the team showed great care in avoiding fences & landscaping. They were also mindful of avoiding close encounters with newly completed concrete work. Very professional. Highly recommended.

We have used Florida Tree & Ground Maintenance on two occasions. Initially to remove substantial branches from a large oak tree and remove two Norfolk pines following a hurricane. Professional and competitive bid. The office was in contact to let us know when the team was scheduled. They came when they said they would and did what they said they would. I would caution that you flag or identify any lighting wiring, or sprinkler heads. We did not do that and when the stump removal was in process that did hit several of those items. Other than that, stellar work.

Florida Tree & Ground Maintenance provided a very good service. The exception to this service was the day they were scheduled to arrive, no one arrived. It was necessary for me to contact the office and the explanation was they fell behind the previous week and now trying to catch up. No one contacted me to inform they were not coming on the scheduled day. Eventually they arrived two days later.

This is the second job we had Nick do for us. He trimmed up 3 live oak trees that had some damage from Hurricane Ian and need to be thinned out and clean up the Areca palms. Coming from Colorado and not knowing who to call and who can get the job done and not charge you a arm and a leg, and who you can trust. Well.... WHO... is Florida Tree & Ground Maintenance Inc. Starting from talking with the office who does the scheduling and pricing they are fast send you exactly the quote and that is exactly what you pay. I had one company quote then come out and add on removal fees. I sent them on their way. I had a great follow up from the owner Nick who I expressed some issues with a Oleander tree that I wanted removed because of the deadly leaves especially the dried and falling off after a wind storm fatal to kids and dogs if eaten. Very very dangerous tree. Nick contacted me the next day and will be here with a couple of days to get the job done. I have done my research on plants and tress that are very toxic and fatal to animals. Beware of the Sago Palm. The male is the worst dogs can die of liver failure. The female can be very toxic. You can google to see the difference between them. I am glad that Nick in his busy schedule where they are booked months out took the time to come out with in 2 days to take care of my concerns. I would highly recommend this company. My husband and I are very picky people. My husband in law enforcement for 33 years has a eye for good companies and this is definitely one of them. I had an issue with Charlotte County and/or the survey company who mistakenly both deemed a tree on my lot as being a Heritage Tree. The tree was very tall and being a pine, is both a hazard to our new home construction as well as being a source of dirt, debris, sap on our new home, vehicles, etc. We already have a huge number of enormous trees along the one side of our lot and we are planning on planting new, FL native, species of trees, so we wanted this one pine out. The tree was supposedly measured to be 30 diameter which is the minimum to deem it a Heritage Tree, which would have resulted in it not being able to be removed. The tree did not look to be that size to me so I called Nick at Florida Tree to do an independent assessment. The tree was covered in vines and was obvious that nobody took the time to cut away the vines to access the tree to verify the real dimensions of it. Nick immediately sent out a crew to do just that thing. Measured as not even being 21 inches! Not even close to the claimed 30. Nick even followed up with a call to my contractor, and another call to the County to make sure that the tree would NOT be deemed a Heritage Tree, that it could indeed be removed, and also that it would not result in delays since the County was at least partially at fault because the person who did their site visit obviously did not measure the tree. Nick also followed up with me to make sure the situation was resolved and asked if there was anything else he could do to help. He did NOT try to upsell me to allow him to take out the tree. He actually advised me to have the excavation company who was clearing the lot for the builder to do the job because it would cost a fraction to do so at this stage rather than doing it after the fact with him or someone else. If you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, prompt, decisive, tough, able to get the job done, I would recommend Nick from Florida Tree. I am very pleased with the results.

The absolute best in the business. Nick and his crew blew me away with the work they did at my house. They tackled nine 100ft pine trees like it was nothing. These guys are the real pros. Worst company I have ever dealt with! Was told they would use a truck lift on my tree so it wouldnt fall on my neighbors yard. That is what I paid for! Well they came an dropped it on my neighbors land with out permission! Drove all around his yard! I would NEVER recommend them! The owner did nothing when I called an talked to him. He only lied! Beware they are terrible.

I had a tree that was lifting my driveway and needed to be removed. Nicks crew did a fabulous job of removing the tree and cleaned up the area around the tree, the street and the neighbors yard. I thought I would have to do some landscaping but the only sign that the tree existed is a small area of wood chips where the tree trunk was. Kudos, Nick!!

Nick showed up on time for the bid. Seemed to really know what he was talking about. He was our third bid and I felt he was explaining what he was doing and not selling me something. His team showed up to do the work when they said they would, the site looks good. We plan to use him again for our second part of the project in a few months.

Literally the worst company ever if something could go wrong it will go wrong with this group of clowns out there. Their prices are out of this world high so you would expect quality right WRONG. They tell you a time and their hours late if they even show up and don t just rip you off for your deposit and if somehow you magically do get them to do work at your house it will be in much worse shape than they left out they ll be trash all over the place their equipment will destroy every bit of your yard that you have literally everything these people touch turns to trash if you wanna get ripped off and feel like you ve been taking advantage of these are the people you re looking for!

Had a palm fall during a storm. After Nick came to look at the other palms, they all were dying and needed to be taken out. He sent a crew and they did an excellent job. They avoided our boat, dock, pool cage and shed with expertise! The yard was cleaned up and when they left the only evidence they were there was the dirt from the stump removal. Best crew in town! After having another company clear, level, and sod our newly purchased lot, we found ourselves in a bad situation. We had purchased a home here, and then the adjacent lot, while still living in NC. We were expecting twins and found the house for too good of a price to pass up, and the same with the side lot. The clearing, leveling, and sodding were all completed before we moved down. I put leveling in quotes because what we found was the furthest thing from a leveled lot you could have. Thats when we called Nick. I sent pictures, Nick provided us a reasonable quote, and his crew did an amazing job making our side lot look like a seemless extension of the main lot. Excellent service. I called and explained what I needed done. An invoice for my review was sent out specifying the types of trees and size. Payment was super easy. Florida Tree and Ground Maintenance arrived early. They worked hard and efficiently. There equipment was well maintained and they were respectful on our yard with bucket truck and cherry picker. The crew was hard working and did a great job cleaning up to finish job! Would highly recommend them!

Extremely disappointed! Nick came to our home to look at a large tree w wanted trimmed. We expected a professional. We met a young , cocky guy w a very rude manner. We wanted expert advice and he was in a big hurry , expected us to know exactly what we wanted without answering our questions . Actually got angry and said it looks like you have no idea what you want and im not getting in the middle etc I cannot put in words how surprised we were at this unprofessional behavior. We expected to be treated with respect and he was pushy and curt from the beginning. We have used a fabulous arborist in the past who died last year; and loved his work Its obvious Nick is just out for money , doesn t want to spend anytime helping the customer make the best decisions for the trees. He would not even give us a ballpark on anything. We strongly advise going elsewhere, im sure we dodged a bullet.

We have large Oak trees in our backyard, never been trimmed, hanging over our home. Below is an photo after the trees were removed from over out house. Dave, the crew foreman did a great job directing his men to remove trees that were over our house. I was always nervous that we would end up with a tree through our roof. Dave, made sure that never happened. These guys are professionals ! They had all the right equipment, large boom lifts and tractors, grinders. Everything was cleaned up when done. A great job. I do recommend them if you need any big trees removed at your home.1

When I purchased my house six years ago, I asked Nick to remove some trees the former owners planted right next to the garage and house. He did a wonderful job, reasonably priced and cleaned everything up. A couple years later, I was cited by the City of North Port because my oak tree in the front yard at the corner covered the stop sign and street sign. He did such a beautiful job of lifting it, I was amazed by how gorgeous my tree looked - I think it even looked better than before he lifted it! (My neighbor across the street and catty-corner from me had a handyman do theirs shortly after Nick did mine, and it was clearly a hack job that didnt do their tree justice, even to this day.) Regrettably, this year, my tree was diagnosed with ganoderma and needed to be cut down completely. Nick and his crew cut the tree and ground the stump. They totally cleaned up all evidence that the oak was even on the property. Very reasonably priced. Nick really knows his stuff. Florida Tree and GM did a great job for me. This is the second time that Ive used their services, and theyve never disappointed. They have the equipment and crew to do the job properly.

After a few years of decent service they accidentally cut the Air-conditioned electric wire. It cost $110.00 to repair. They were not willing to reimburse me the full amount. They only wanted to give me less than half of my expense caused by their weed wacker.

I had two 40 Foot trees between my house and neighbors. Very tight area to work. Florida Tree and Groundkeeping was able to remove them without damaging roof, pool cage or house They are very professional with liability and work comp insurance. The owner is a professional arborist. And their quote was less than the quote from another company that had sketchy credentials.

Although having to have trees removed from my yard was due to unfortunate circumstances out of my control, I am happy with the work done by this company. Linda in the office was easy to talk to, Nick kept in great contact, and the guys were very efficient. FL tree & Ground Maintenance Inc came to my house for tree service. The crew did a fabulous job removing a large oak tree in front of lanai and removed large limbs on other tree that was hanging over my house. The company has a certified arborist named Nick. His crew was very highly skilled and professional with their work from start to finish. They removed the tree quickly and safely along with grinding the stump down. The place was left neat and clean. Although we are still somewhat satisfied with how this project turned out, in less than 5 months time our triple foxtail palm had a stalk completely die on it. This is a 20 foot tall tree that we paid $1350 for, to be the new centerpiece of our front yard. Made contact with Florida tree in regards to the issue, and after a month of back and forth, ultimately all they would do to rectify the situation was to either cut out the dead stalk, or install a new tree at a cost of $600!! This project already set us back nearly 7 grand. I understand that their growers do not guarantee their trees, however that s really not my problem. In the end, we did not get what we wanted or paid for. We wanted a nice triple foxtail as our centerpiece. What we are left with is a double with a stump. Other nurseries in the area guarantee their trees for a year after planting with proper care, which I was religious about with this particular tree. We will not be using this company for any of our planned future projects.

In January I called about having a arborist come to my home as I had questions as to the condition of some of my palm trees. I wanted to meet with them to point out and ask certain questions. Two weeks later without a phone call to set an appointment someone came to the house and we were not at home. We had only left the house for half an hour. a card had been left in the mail box. Later in the day I spoke with the owner who said that he was there. I tried to ask him some of my questions but said that it was hard to do over the phone. He told me that my trees looked okay to him and then sent be a bill for $75.00. He also told me he could fertilize five trees for $300.00. I have my own service company, a roofing and siding company. I never go to a customers house without a phone call first. Also would never send a bill for a phone conversation. He continues to send his bill which I will not pay

Timely work, very professional company -- Our office complex recently encountered a plumbing emergency which resulted in several businesses having to close temporarily, including dentists forced to cancel appointments. Even worse, plumbers could not get to the problem until 3 large trees (and their network of underground roots) were completely removed. 1st Rate Arborist and tree service. Nick and his team removed a diseased Bismarck Palm and ground the stump. Timely service and removal - No damage to any of the surrounding shrubbery and clean-up was as you would expect. This was the second time using Florida Tree, the first time, Nick saved a mature avocado tree damaged during hurricane IRMA.

Florida Tree and Ground Maintenance has removed several trees for us as well as completing a special project. All of the work was done in a professional manner and the clean up was as good as it could be. Some of the trees looked like they would be a real challenge, yet this crew made short work of the job. The safety of the men and our house and pool cage were never a question. We have two more trees to remove and we re not going to bother with another bid!

These guys do an awesome job! They took our tree down quickly and efficiently, and with care not to damage to the nearby pool cage. They were friendly & personable and cleaned up the debris and left the area neat & tidy. This was our 2nd experience with FT&GM and it surely wont be our last!

I cant comment on how well this company trims trees, but disappointed that one of their drivers drove through our planted cul-de-sac on Peace River Drive this morning (09/25/2020) and took out a crape myrtle bush, some ground cover, flowering aloe and dug up the sod. Our street has a sign stating that it is a dead end.

Nick s team of guys at Florida Tree & Ground Maintenance are professional, courteous, very caring about the service they provide. I have been using them about 6 years. In that time, they have cleared 3.5 building lots cut down numerous pine trees as well as stump grinding them. They make sure to clean up the site before leaving, they always ask if I am satisfied with the job. I have never had any issues with them not showing up when they said they would like other companies I ve call before. Last year I had them trim up my three oak trees before hurricane season they did a wonderful job. I even get them to deliver two truckloads of free mulch a year! Very quick response to take down a Sabal Palm with Ganoderma at a reasonable cost. Took the tree down, grinded the stump, hauled it off and thorough clean up after. Would highly recommend them.

We threw a lot at these guys and they exceed on every point. We easily had 3-4 days worth of work for a crew that they did in 2.5 days. My neighbor walked over and commented on how hard they worked the entire time. We had trees tangled in powerlines, we had trees near the house, we had tress on and over the water, we had a honey bee infestation!! They went out of their way and saved the honey bees! They handled all of the situations professionally and without a bit of damage to any surrounding property. I had open communications with Linda and Nick beforehand and the crew that came to do the work always took time to talk to me each day and let me know what they were doing and how things were going. I had zero worries while they worked and that says a lot because I worry about everything. When they left my yard was cleaner than before they started. They really cared about the work they were leaving behind. I found out later they did all of this being one man short and with a down piece of equipment. We had several trees that needed to be removed including two very large bushy palms that were leaning against our pool cage. The guys had a very small amount of room to work with and they still managed to remove all trees without causing any damage to the property. The two heaviest trees weighed several hundred pounds a piece, and were proving to be very difficult, but with these guys ability to think outside the box and get the job done it ended up being nothing more than a minor inconvenience. They were quick, professional, and very courteous. I will definitely be using them for all my tree removal needs in the future.

I just used this company to trim two very large oak trees in my small back yard. The guys who came to do the work did a great job. The only down side to my experience was when nick came to bid the job, I was very adamant about removing a tree limb which was growing into the roof of my shed, and stated it was of paramount importance. He stated on the proposal that they would remove all delinquent limbs which I assumed included the aforementioned limb so I signed the proposal and left a non-refundable cash deposit to schedule the appointment. When the crew came to do the job, the crew leader told me that he was not informed to remove said limb and I would need to pay an extra $300 for removing this tree limb on top of the $1600 I paid for the job. This was an apparent miscommunication or he simply forgot to add it to the estimate. After calling and speaking with the very nice lady in the office, I asked them to at least meet me half way to remove the limb which may have taken an extra 10-15 mins. Unfortunately they would not budge and informed me that I would need to pay the unexpected price increase to have it removed. Had I known it did not include the limb removal, I would have budgeted for it better. As I stated earlier despite the issue with the incorrect estimate, the crew came and did a great job, they were quick and efficient and had it done in about 4 hours. I would still recommend this company, but I would advise future customers to go through every detail before signing and approving the estimate. I will also probably use them again to trim my tall palms that I cannot reach. I would have normally only given 4 stars, but I am also appreciative of them squeezing me In to their schedule to have the job completed before my BBQ on July 4th. Kudos to Dave and his crew! It was in the back yard with limited access yet they removed and replaced it with a beautiful Montgomery Palm and did an outstanding job. We hired Nicks company to remove a damaged heritage live oak tree from our property. We live out of state and can not thank him enough for his hard work and fierce tenacity. Not being in the area full time, we were so happy to find Nick. He wrote up the tree risk assessment, provided us with a bid, filled out the mandatory paperwork with the county (due to protected heritage tree issues), applied for the permit and worked with the county above and beyond what I feel the average company would have. This was not an easy case and Nick never lost interest or the desire to get this tree cut down for us. The tree itself was a multi trunked live oak tree with a very large canopy and was around 65 feet tall. On one side was our house and the other side of the tree was growing directly into power lines. His expertise and grade A equipment enabled him to do the job safely and efficiently. He ground all the stumps down well below ground level and actually left the work area in better condition than when he arrived. I cannot say enough good things about Florida Tree and Ground Maintenance. If you find yourself in need of an arborist, call Nick first. He will be the last call you have to make. In todays day and age of half-assed businesses who only want to cut corners and take your money, Nick will pleasantly surprise you. Thats not how he operates and will go the extra mile for you. He does what he says he will do and just gets stuff done. Period. Even better, he gets it done right and as promised.

They removed the wrong tree. My initial request was if they could remove our tree (the correct one) intact to be used elsewhere as a trade since it was a huge, gorgeous, healthy, and vibrant tree but in a bad location. They said no. It could only be removed for a fee, not intact and we complied. It was scheduled while we were gone due to their busy schedule. However AFTER they were told they removed the WRONG tree they offered to put the tree back as they had removed it intact. Amazing! What were they going to do with this beautiful tree that they took intact? Hm. I wonder. (Sarcasm here) So now our beautiful, healthy tree is in complete shock and has to be watered daily. 1 star is too good.

Everything was raked to perfection and the yard was left exactly how they found it before the work was completed. I plan on have this company do our paver brick landscaping at a future date. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Nick and his crew did a nice job of removing my Pineapple palm tree in the front yard. They repaired the broken sprinklers as he said they would. Over all I was happy with the job and would use them again and refer to my friends.

This past winter we needed some trees removed that were too close to our home. Nick Mayl and his experienced team cut down the three trees and ground four stumps without incident. They brought in heavy equipment to expedite the work process and cleaned up the work area upon completion. We were extremely satisfied with a very professional job well done! Nick and his crew did an excellent job. They didnt have it as easy at our house due to the fact that they day they came to cut (4) trees down it had rained the night before so they didnt have access to get to our back yard with their outstanding equipment they posses. They literally had to cut the trees down & drag them out to the road to put in their industrial chipper which was a lot of work since they cut (4) oak trees down. Job well done.

This is the second time I have hired Nick and his crew to do a job for me. Unfortunately I have a vacant lot on two sides of my fence and it was causing the fence to fall in. The crew showed up and cleared a path along with knocking some offensive fast growing trees so they no longer rest on my fence. They also trimmed all my plants, bushes and trees in my backyard as to my request. The place looked fantastic when they left and you would have never known they were here. All debris was racked and hauled off and the foliage in my backyard looks great. They are the most professional group of people I have ever hired in the state of Florida and would highly recommend them for any of your needs.

Best price I could find and I did a lot of shopping around. Nick did a pretty big project for us, mainly trimming palms in and around our dealership. To keep it simple, his guys were able to trim up multiple palms and other trees around 60 thousand dollar new cars and havent had a single issue yet. His staff is pretty damn friendly too.

Great company. Did a fabulous job removing 2 tree stumps. I will definitely use them again in the future for any tree and/or stump removal. They did fast efficient work and left the property better than when they arrived. Their price was super reasonable. I received 3 bids and theirs was the lowest and they charged exactly what they bid.

They removed 6 30 foot trees from the back of my house and 2 trees from the front as well as trimmed the remaining trees. They were very careful not to damage my septic system and hand carried all of the debris from the back of the house to the front. They are extremely hard working and efficient. They ground down the stumps and the property looks better than it ever has. I would highly recommend this company to my friends.

Excellent work...hard working crew, did a great job and would recommend them to anyone who needs their services, in fact, I did, to my next door neighbor. They did exactly what they said they would do and for a reasonable price. I hope to be using them again in the near future.

i had a 30 ft coconut palm that was right where we wanted to install a pool. i hated to cut the tree down and we were on a tight time line. nick and his crew shifted their schedule and did the job at a reasonable price. they were polite, careful and very professional. nice job!!!

Nick and his crew removed two large trees for us - a carrotwood from the backyard, and a bottlebrush from the side. They have all the equipment to do the job right, and they also did the clean-up afterwards. There was no damage to the side of the house from large branches falling, and no damage to the existing greenery (tall cypress / junipers) nearby. The stump grinder is amazing. Theres no evidence that a tree was in those spots! (Love the remote-control) The crew is very professional, diligent and worked quickly, and we were very satisfied with the price. I definitely recommend them.

Everything you want in a company. Knowledgeable employees who were very polite and helpful. They did a very good job and made short work of a couple of trees that I thought would be a huge problem. They also threw in some other work to make the place look very nice that I didnt even know I needed...For free! I would recommend them and would use this company again!
