He helped us re-do our entire landscape (1 acre) about 10yrs ago and absolutely love how everything has filled in and blooms at different times for year found interest. Prior to purchasing our lovely home, we noticed the front yard was in need of work. We talked to a number of landscaping firms and architects and once we spoke with Lars Neilson of Dennis 7 Dees Landscaping, our choice was made. He listened to our goals, named the various plants and shrubs that would work well in our yard and developed a pleasing plan that met all of our goals. We incorporated a new lawn area, plants, shrubs and boulders. Lars has a great team that prepared the ground, installed the sprinkler system, and planted the plants. His customer service did not top there. Lars did a walk thru with us and discussed the care of each plant and shrub. The front of our home is beautiful and we could not be happier. I want to thank Landscape Designer Lars Nielsen and the crew at Dennis 7 Dees for the fantastic job they did installing my new lawn! Lars assessed what was needed to include the addition and location of low volume sprinkler heads for complete irrigation done efficiently. Then the proper type of sod was chosen for the weather conditions here in the Northwest. There was an issue with a large number of roots in the yard that the crew irradicated completely. The ground was tilled with mulch and then a layer of top soil was applied. Finally, with great care the sod was installed. Not only was the crew professional in their work, but also polite and respectful. A very fine group of men. Everyone was a pleasure to work with. I couldnt be happier! So if youre new to the area and youre looking for a great landscaping company, forget all the rest, look no further than Dennis 7 Dees!!

Our front yard landscaping needed a refresh. All of the current shrubbery was either dead or overgrown. Lars created a cohesive design that includes year-round blooms and is easy to maintain, as well as beautiful. One of their company cars almost ran me off the road

I would not hesitate to have Lars Nielsen, landscape designer at Dennis 7-Dees, design or make recommendations for any landscaping needs I would have. He listened to what I wanted and what was required. He communicated effectively throughout the whole project and patiently answered all my questions, even the ones I didn t know to ask! Originally, I had a large, boring yard consisting primarily of a weedy lawn, which became a marsh when watered, due to poor drainage. Around the perimeter of the fence was a strip of dirt, weeds, 8 small bushes and 2 trees. Lars corrected the drainage problem in my yard, creatively reduced the size of my lawn, added a patio space and pathways, had a whole new sprinkler system installed for the lawn and planting beds, designed a low-maintenance perennial garden in my backyard adding 80 larger plants and 2 large trees. He incorporated the list of my favorite plants. Lars walked through with me at the end, explaining how to care for each new plant. He designed a lovely yard within my modest budget. Lars amazing team of Shellina, Joe and Tom worked tirelessly, in hot weather, to create the lovely oasis my yard has become! They stripped everything down to bare dirt, tilled in compost to improve the soil, installed the extensive sprinkler system, built a large, gravel, circular patio and pathways, extended the planting beds, planted all the plants and trees, put new sod for the new, smaller lawn, bark mulch was blown in and everything was cleaned up! All in 7 days!! They went above and beyond any expectations I had! I can t speak highly enough of their considerate friendliness, work ethic, expertise, dedication and conscientiousness. Using Lars Nielsen and Dennis 7-Dees was one of the best decisions I have made. Highly recommend him and his company.

We had a great experience working with Dennis 7 Dees to rework our front landscaping. They provided great guidance throughout the project to help us make choices to get the results we were looking for. Once on site the crew worked efficiently and did a great job completing each of step of the project while always being respectful of our property and existing landscaping. Great and reliable landscapers

We have been very happy with the work Lars Neilsen and crew have done in fulfilling our landscaping needs. When we noticed some drainage issues, they installed a French drain system last year which has been a big improvement. Most recently, after our extremely cold, windy and icy winter this year when we lost a number of plants that normally have survived many cold snowy winters, Lars was very helpful in suggesting replacement plants. We are thankful for his continuing support of our landscaping needs.

Lars did a great job re-landscaping our backyard. Hes knowledgeable and professional but, most important, he listened to us and really paid attention to what we wanted. We couldnt be happier and we recommend Lars and 7 Dees without reservation.

My husband and I worked with Lars Nielsen at Dennis 7 Dees on a plan to replace our water-sucking, uninspired grass front lawn with a beautiful and thoughtfully designed mix of drought-tolerant native plants and stone elements (dry creek bed, stone path). Lars was so patient with our many questions about process, materials, design, etc. and brought a wealth of knowledge and creative ideas that both respected and expanded on our vision for the space. We went through multiple iterations of a design plan. Communication was clear, transparent, and respectful throughout the process. The yard work itself was completed quickly but thoroughly. We had our entire acre backyard renovated with new plants, shrubs and trees, plus added needed sprinkler heads and changed out others. Over 200 plants were planted to fill the area and new sod added plus bark over everything! It took Sholina and her crew 10 days! She was wonderful, patient and very upbeat no matter what came before her. Fantastic experience. We are very pleased with the results. The designer, Lars Nielsen, was professional, pleasant, responsive and stayed on top of the project. He always returned calls and emails quickly. Eric s landscape design captured our vision, and the crew executed it with skill, professionalism and their daily cleanup was meticulous. The transformation of our yard was a wonderful experience!

I had a great experience from start to finish. We had our front yard grass (mostly weeds) removed and replaced with lower maintenance plants, rocks, and bark. They also installed a drip irrigation system. Our designer, Austin, was very prompt in responding and great about going back and forth with suggestions for plants. For the actual work, they started and finished as expected. The work team was the best group of contractors weve had. They were very kind and respectful when we interacted with them. They were also very thoughtful of our property. They didnt break anything, and they cleaned up their messes. Other contractors that weve had always seem to break things and leave trash. It was a pleasant surprise to not have that problem! Overall, a very positive experience and glad to have a nicer looking yard!

Had a really positive experience with Lars Nielsen one of the design consultants. He was able to help me find the perfect location for my garden, as well and see potential design features to turn our backyard into a serene oasis. Couldn t recommend more!

My partner hired them to do landscaping for his yard, and it was a disaster. Very poor communication and lack of professionalism. The end product is an eyesore. The goal was to remove lawn and have a variety of low maintenance and native plants. A huge part of the square footage of the design was one single plant, which was then unavailable. They re terrible about returning phone calls and emails. They put very little effort into coming up with suitable plant replacements. After many months of no communication, workers showed up in the yard with 12 hours advance notice (email) and were planting them after the window of time when they would be guaranteed for survival. Unsurprisingly they perished in the heat wave that came the following week, and despite promises of getting them replaced, the yard is now mostly bare earth. Colossal disappointment. The project was started 2 years ago and the final plantings were done a year later. The project is still not technically completed because the replacement plants have never arrived. (EDITED: THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROMPT RESPONSE! I dont want to publicly shame the employee he worked with, but if youd like to investigate further, this was Proposal # 25078.)

Wow! The work done by 7Dees was pretty extensive. It was completed quickly and perfectly. And they were willing to follow-up with a couple of changes, even after completion. I could not be more happy. I cant wait to see all the plants grow and fill in.

I inquired about planting hedges and plants in my yard and got a message from Lars to call a different Seven dees garden center that could do that for me. Lars was very helpful and professional. Thanks again. Edit: Unfortunately the store I was recommended did not respond. That s ok, we re doing the work ourselves saving thousands of dollars.

We had a very bad experience with a contractor that left our yard in shambles. We were not going to take chances with another contractor that did not have a reputation or track record of reliability, quality, and expertise. We commissioned 7 Dees to complete our project. They provided a team of experts that kept us informed throughout the process, provided continuous feedback, recommendations, and updates. Lars Nielsen led our team and was not only responsive and proactive, but also listened to our desires and concerns and provided solutions. His expertise in botany was demonstrated via his advice of plant mixture to provide color and bloom throughout the seasons as opposed to having too many plants that bloom for a few weeks and then we would be left with little color for the remainder of the year. Lars has not only demonstrated his value as a trusted contractor, but we would now count him among our new friends.

Conversation about the initial plans was productive and timely. Work was done in a timely manner despite very poor weather. Site was tidy and safe at all times. The finished landscaping turned out very well

We decided the lawn in front of our house was in serious need of help. We made an inquiry with Dennis 7Dees, and Eric Hagberg became our landscape designer. We discussed our needs and wants, and we answered Eric s questions about our goals (low maintenance, horse friendly plants, ability to enjoy sunset evenings). In short order Eric showed us a design that incorporated a wide range of plants, meandering paths and places for outdoor eating, resting, reading, and spending time with friends. We were excited to see the results. Soon Dennis 7Dees crews arrived. Every day there was amazing progress. Everyone knew their job and worked well together to produce a lovely landscape. We could not be happier to see Eric s vision translated into a beautiful front yard. We are happy. We ve had many friends and neighbors amazed at the work. We highly recommend both Eric and the hardworking efforts of the Dennis 7Dees workers for anyone looking to do something similar.

Dennis 7 Dees Landscaping is a true five star company that has been used several times over the past 19 years. From the initial large landscaping/hardscaping, irrigation and lighting done in 2004, 2007 and now in February 2023, this latest job was a refresh of the existing landscaping to bring up to date. A new LED lighting system, replaced the old Rainbird pop-up sprinklers with new drip system and hardscaping changes plus cleanout of debris around the property. Our Dennis 7 Dees designer, Lars Nielsen, put together the plan as it was envisioned by the owner and took a little over 6 days to complete. The crew foreman Brady and his group were so easy to work with and did everything we asked and more. The transition was quite awesome. Any questions we had were answered promptly by Lars and communication was always open. Thanks again to Dennis 7 Dees for refreshing the landscape of the property and it looks terrific. Much appreciated.

March 2023 - We used 7 Dees again, this time for our front yard and driveway. The planning with Kenna and install with Scott and Juan went very smoothy, and they did a wonderful job keeping everything clean, given the amount of mud that is in our yard. I especially liked that they incorporated boulders into the design to match our retaining wall. They have also been great in finding replacement plants for what the wildlife has damaged. They can find items that are not available in local stores. December 2020 - We normally like to do our own landscaping, but after some fits and starts, we called 7 Dees for some help. They were very responsive, and our designer, Kenna, came back with a plan that was much more economical than we initially thought. The install went very smoothly and we are very pleased with the results. We look forward to working with them again soon for the front of our property.

I wanted to replace an old concrete deck behind my house with a more natural area. They came up with a design that blended well with the existing features, included a good mix of colors and textures along with being easy to maintain. Communication was clear and timely through all stages from the initial contact, design, scheduling, installation, and post install follow up. Access to the site is limited so the demo work had to be done by hand. Crew was highly professional, worked efficiently, and left a clean job site at the end of each day. Four months later all the plants are thriving. They will be my first call for any future landscape needs.

This review is long overdue. I worked with Lars Nielsen in the summer and fall of 2022. He is very friendly, always on time, and knows what he is talking about. The main issue we worked on was the terrible drainage in my back yard. I am so happy with the result. We just finished the first winter, and not one puddle! He also designed a new paver patio, a stepping stone pathway, and redid all the irrigation. He listened to what I wanted and guided me to a very good result. I couldnt be happier. I also want to say a few words about the crew who worked on the project. Shalina, the crew leader, was amazing. She kept me informed throughout the entire process and answered all my questions. She, Artimeo, and Ferlandi were friendly, very respectful, and the hardest working people Ive ever seen. I would definitely work with them again.

Not a bargain priced garden center, but they can not be beat for the quality of their plants and shrubs. And more importantly you can get the value of their landscaping design. I hired 7 Dees to landscape my front yard. Lars was super helpful in the design process and came up with an awesome plan. The project got underway earlier than promised and before I knew it the job was done! The whole team was great and very knowledgable. We had 7Dees do a revamp of our sad looking backyard and patio. It took their team a lot of work but not only did they leave the place spotless every day but got all the work done in a timely manner.

In April I had Dennis quote my lawn and flowerbed maintenance, as they provide weekly services for my HOAs common areas. They were very prompt, professional, and provided a very reasonable quote. I immediately signed the contract and they began providing services on the same day as when they do the rest of my neighborhood--literally a 15 minute job, at most. I was so pleased, I passed the word along to other neighbors and they signed up as well. Just yesterday, I was emailed by a new account manager that they were terminating my annual contract and that I would have to requote--for at least a $450 monthly minimum fee--because the account manager that originally set me up was somehow not authorized to quote me as they had. In this instance, Dennis decided that their poorly managed internal processes and controls were the customers problem, and they gave the customer--me--the boot. Big picture, strategic thought would have led them down the path of simply resolving THEIR mistake when it came time for contract renewal. Their short term resolution has created significant ill will and will ultimately cost them more business in the long run. Buyer beware--they could cancel your service, and waste your time, just as easily, without a care.

We just recently completed a large project with the team at 7 Dees, led by Justin. We are beyond satisfied and happy with our experience. From day one, the communication was quick, clear, and professional. Everything was delivered as promised. While the initial bid was more than others, you really get what you pay for, and it was worth it in every way. The on-site team showed up everyday, at the same time- which is huge in the service industry. We will continue to work with 7 Dees for any future landscape needs. Thanks team!

I worked with Austin Kelly who did a terrific job, bringing my vision for my yard to life. He started with a bare yard as we had retaining wall work done that had decimated our yard. He understood what I was looking for and came up with a plan that made sense for the space. The workers who did the actual landscaping were prompt, courteous, and neat. When problems arose, Enrique, the project manager, communicated effectively and was able to offer me solutions that worked with my yard. I had tried to work with other landscape designers who wanted to charge me almost a quarter of what my project cost just for the plans. Everyone who comes into my yard really loves it I have spent more time in my yard this summer than the previous 20 thanks to Austin and Enrique and the crew. Highly recommend!

Last Fall 7 Dees came out to completely redo our front and back yard landscaping. Kelly, our project manager/designer was friendly, informative, and helpful. The yard was asphalt, concrete, wood chips, and lawn. We had a vision and the whole team made it happen. Nathaniel, Joe & Juna are the bomb! Juna, a knowledgeable and wonderful designer, really captured what I had drawn out for this project. Nathaniel & Joe, along with the other crew members worked their butts off to transform the front and back. You all get 5 + stars! I hadnt thought out the seasons with regard to plant availability and viability for late summer/early fall. I wasnt keen with the plant offerings. In hind sight some of the plantings should have simply been done the following spring. We did work out a resolution. I would recommend that this kind of conversation should happen at the beginning of a project to set the right expectations. The hardscape is what really transformed the space. Who knew you could love a driveway. The new rock wall adds character. The 5 new trees are filling in along with the bushes. Ive added some flowers and plants throughout the season. It makes me happy and our neighbors compliment the transformation. Thanks for your hard work. Its much appreciated.

Lars was our landscape designer for redoing our entire landscape. He worked closely with us all the way through the planning process, creating and improving on the vision we had for our yard and gardens. He continued to be our contact person all the way through the execution. He intervened to make corrections with the crew when needed, and made sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. Due to delays the plants had to be installed during this years heat wave, but they are replacing the plants that failed, making good their warranty. Lars did a final walk through where we videoed him explaining the care for all the plantings. He was always friendly, positive, enthusiastic about working with us, and professional. We have had multiple slow walk-bys and neighbors complement us on the job. We are very happy with the outcome. I recommend the services they provided.

Wow, I cant say enough awesome things about the work they did! Justin and his crew went above and beyond, always showing up when they said they would and completing the jobs ahead of schedule. They cleaned everything up each day, they were careful with our deck, and they did a beautiful job. I didnt have a crystal-clear vision for my back yard, so they counselled me on what would work and gave some insight into beautification I hadnt considered. We were hesitant to plant in mid-winter, but Lars assured us it would be ok. And it was! All of the plantings, including trees, shrubs, and flowers, thrived over the summer. It was evident that they used high-quality plants. A few plants did not bloom, and Lars arranged for them to be replaced under the warranty. The sprinkler and drip system provides excellent coverage. We recommend them highly.

The plants all looked healthy when delivered mid November (although we wont truly see the foliage until after winter). The crew was knowledgeable and hard working. Lars Nielsen was the project manager for our front yard landscape project and Shelena and her crew did the work to remove our old landscape plants and bushes, plant the new ones, install bark dust, and install a dry creek bed feature with boulders and river gravel. Lars was really good at listening to what we wanted and then using his years of experience and plant knowledge to create a landscape plan and individual plant choices that will have ongoing seasonal color and foliage changes throughout the year. They also updated and replaced major components of our sprinkler system. The river bed and boulders look natural and add a lot of interest and texture to our all landscape (no lawn) sloping front yard. We just couldnt be happier with how it turned out! Lars was a good communicator and stayed in touch throughout the project which they completed in four long work days. We worked with Eric Hagberg for our yard landscape design as well as benefiting from his overall project management during the Spring of 2023. Our project included significant removal and replacement of sodded grass, new irrigation along with the addition of multiple and varied plantings. We hired 7 Dees for help taking out three massive tree trunks and root systems from trees lost in a winter storm and then they squared off our lawn and have our plants and trees a sprucing up by adding new trees and foliage. Working with them was great - they were on time, hard working, and very respectful of our space. The crew on-site left the yard area clean and tidy each day, and were good at communicating progress and asking questions when necessary. The finished product looks great.

Let me start with, our positive experience with the Landscape Designer, Austin. He was FANTASTIC, from initial estimates, to finished product. Other contractors just didnt listen to what my budget was, and came in over 2X what my budget was. Austin came in a little over budget, but that was because to do everything I wanted, it was a bit more. But, in working with Austin, he came up with landscape ideas, I never thought of, to help bring everything into budget. Now, let me sing the praises of the crew, that came and did the work. Very professional, and kept the worksite clean and safe. I did not need to say anything to the crew, or to Austin, because the crew did everything to perfection, on time, and in budget. Dennis 7-Dees did a complete re-landscape of our property in the Fall of 2021. We were very fortunate to be assigned Lars Nielsen as our Landscape Designer. Lars spent time getting to know us and our desires for our outdoor space. Then he put together a design that brought all of our dreams to life. Lars was wonderful to work with at every stage of the process and is still involved one year post-construction in making sure we are 100% satisfied. Our construction crew was led by Nate who was assisted by Ryan. Our project lasted 5 weeks and included a complete tear out and rebuild. The disruption to our home was minimized by the professionalism of our crew. Every employee of 7-Dees that we have interacted with has been a true professional. We absolutely love every aspect of our new yard and feel very confident in recommending Lars and the 7-Dees Team.

I really liked the Dennis 7 Dees team when we started working with them over a year ago. Great maintenance crew lead by Jeannette, who was very responsive and attentive. Sadly, in the last few months, things have gone way downhill. We were switched to a different crew, and Im not even sure if we currently have an assigned crew since there has been no consistency to who shows up, and two weeks ago nobody showed up, with no notice or explanation. We still havent gotten a response to an email to our account manager about it. Today, two people showed up that Ive never seen, didnt knock on the door to check in (previously even if we had a temporary crew covering a busy week for Jeannette, they would let us know and come introduce themselves), and were here for a whole 15 minutes to leafblow 1/3 of the yard and the sidewalk. They didnt look at any plantings even in the small area they visited, didnt put eyes on the front or side yard, and didnt stay long enough for me to go ask if they could fix the broken sprinkler. The sprinkler itself was sitting out on the front porch steps within full view, it was pretty noticeable. Not checking the health of the plants has become a major problem- when the rain finally stopped in July, our planter occupants died. I discovered that all but two of the drip lines had not been opened when they did their supposedly dedicated visit for the purpose of turning on and checking the sprinkler system. The plants still havent recovered. We had paid Dennis 7 Dees to source and plant many of them just this spring. Oh, and one of our mature yew trees slowly died under their watch too, apparently because nobody noticed the sprinkler line wasnt working for who knows how long. Its incredibly frustrating, especially since the monthly maintenance rate of course went up in June, around the same time we were abruptly switched to this merry-go-round maintenance staff. I dont know if you get pushed to the back burner once youre off the 1st year contract, or if they arent staffed for the number of properties they maintain, but the net effect is that we have a bunch of dead plants, broken sprinklers, overpaid to add a handful of drip lines, and cant even get a response on the other projects they had said they would look into for the hardscape and gates. It is such a stark reversal from last year that I still hope its only a temporary problem, but Im losing faith in that as more things pile up.

Fantastic and helpful customer service, easy to navigate with lots of signs! The house plants and pot selection is great and the greenhouse always has lots of beautiful flowers and plants for the season. Even fall and Christmas are great here since they have a good selection of fall mums and pansies, veggies, wreaths, garland, cut and living Christmas trees, and things like ornaments and other good gifts in the gift shop!!

We hired 7Dees to do our landscaping on a new home build. It was just a dirt lot prior. Eric handled the project and everything came together incredibly well. The crew was very friendly and always took time to ensure an organized work environment every day. They were also very friendly to everyone in my family during the course of their work day. At times, we had many other contractors on site and they worked well with all of them. They have since been back a few times to check on our plants and replaced some that were stressed due to the heat. We had drainage issues in our yard, and our grass was having a tough time in the increasingly hot summers. We decided to invest in a complete restructuring of our lawn, front and back. Lars Nielsen is the landscape designer who helped us form a plan that will be beautiful while conserving water and resources. The new watering system technology is incredibly efficient. The job was started and completed on time, and Lars came back after all of the work was done to check that everything was as it should be, and train us on the system. The seed has taken hold, and although of course there will be spots that will need more seed next spring, we know that Lars and 7 Dees will be available to help! For years, water got into my basement during large storms. I couldnt see a way to a French drain system that wouldnt destroy my landscape and my huge trees with huge roots. Eric, Joshua, Mateo, and Luis built a better system than I dreamed possible. They worked very carefully, very respectfully, communicated clearly, and delivered a drain system tailored to the challenges in my yard and my budget. The first rains have been handled perfectly! I believe I signed a contract about six months before the start; I was told mid-September and they hit that exactly. They said it would probably be two weeks, and, while there was an illness that cost a day, it took ten days of work. (And Id really rather sick people take the time they need, thats better for everybody.) From my perspective it was on time and on budget. In short, it was professional, predictable, and personal. Id do it exactly the same way again.

Our yard was overgrown and needed a major overhaul. The paths were filled with weeds and most of the plants were overgrown after years of neglect. The paths needed to be completely dug out and all the debris hauled away and replaced with 3plus inches of 1/4 minus and compacted. Huge job. The flower gardens needed to be completely scraped aways after years of plantings migrating out of control. The crew was amazing and great to work with. Very dedicated to doing the best job. We loved these guys...Brady, Willem, Angel & Tarsan. Every day they cleaned up perfectly before leaving for the day. They would check with us daily on their progress to be sure we were happy with the results and if we had any requests. I have low voltage wiring & fixtures running all over the place and I fully expected that this would be a challenge and would need to be repaired after such an extensive job. Seven Dees just finished our landscape renovation project, and it turned out absolutely fantastic, in fact better than we expected. We had a sloped yard full of trees that was only 1/2 usable for us. Wow, I was so impressed with the work that Josh and Jared did in my garden on 12/20/22. They were professional, friendly and great to work with; the perfect ambassadors for your company. He and his team were prompt every day. they kept us informed of what they were doing. they had us review placements and designs before they started to make sure we were on the same page. They were tidy and cleaned up every day. it was a delightful experience. Yes, they are expensive. You get what you pay for with them though. They were in and they were out, which was what we were after. I didnt want a project that was going to linger. We are about to dive into our second project with Dennis 7 Dees and are excited to see the end result!

After 7 projects over the past 5 years, I wouldnt even consider anyone else to do a landscaping project for me. Seven Dees, and Eric Hagberg in particular, has provided outstanding service on all projects. They are reliable, honest, do excellent work, provide what they commit to, or more, on every project. Trees that are promised to be 6 to 8 feet, for example, have often been 8 to 10 feet. The few problems that occurred during or after our projects were quickly and more than satisfactorily resolved. Even after our projects were completed, any new related issues that arose, within the contract provisions or not, were quickly and professionally resolved. I give Eric and Seven Dees a 5 star rating without reservation. They have been exceptional in addressing all of our landscaping needs.

I had Dennis 7 Dees renovate my front yard several years ago. They were wonderful to work with, and created a beautiful path to the front door. They transplanted big bushes, and then were agreeable to let me fill in with natives around the small lawn we kept. A couple of years later I hired a different landscape company to put in a water feature. They were terrible, and a year after the project that was supposed to take 2 months, it was still not done. I called Eric at Dennis 7 Dees to see if they could finish up the job. They were so understanding and helpful, and had to redo all that had been done incorrectly. I have called them for irrigation repairs, questions, etc. throughout the years. I rely on them to always be prompt, professional, and helpful.

Designer - Eric really listened to all the adults in the home and came through with several options that we were able to mix and match. He measured, suggested, drew and re-drew designs, then he worked with the project manager and the outside cement company to make sure things were satisfactory. The Project Manager and Crew - I wish I had been home on their last day of work to give each of those men a tip. They worked rain and shine, they laid the retaining wall correctly and after realizing the stone was the wrong color, ripped it out and relaid it perfectly. Our primary concern had been drainage (we get street run off) and this past winter with the snow and rain our swamp of a front yard and parking strip were dry. After 1 year we are still pleased with their work and have recommended them to anyone we can.

We had a great experience working with our project manager Kelly and his crew! Our backyard was full of blackberry brambles before the project started and not a relaxing and fun experience for our family! We could not get the brambles under control ourselves. Now, we have a nicely excavated and bramble free yard for our kids to play and hopefully for a garden soon. We highly recommend them!

The goal of our project was to replant two trees that would be replacing ones that we had previously removed and also to update existing landscaping in the same area. Sam DeFever worked with me to provide appropriate suggestions for trees and shrubs and that would also complement surrounding mature landscaping. Everything about working with Dees Landscaping was great from start of the design to finishing up the project. They worked with us on obtaining what we wanted for our backyard and made everything happen quickly. And the finished product looks great, I would highly recommend!

After meeting with four landscaping companies for our small front and back yard, the plan Lars provided captured exactly what we wanted with a beautiful and low maintenance design. We appreciated that the bid was clearly divided up so we understood the cost of various aspects and that it was no issue when we decided to do various parts ourselves to save on the cost (i.e. river rock along the parking strip). Lars was highly communicative throughout the entire process -- I had lots of questions! -- and flexible when it came to meeting our requests. We are going through the Backyard Habitats certification so it was great to be able to tailor our design to include mostly native plants, no pesticides and eco-lawn seed installation. The crew that visited our house was wonderful and we love how our design came to life! Soon afterwards we realized that we wanted to add some boulders to the front and even though it was their busy season, they were able to quickly accommodate this add on. The excellent customer service we received combined with the experience of their knowledgeable staff is truly outstanding. We highly recommend D7D and Lars in particular for any landscape project!

Had a sprinkler issue that Kelly was able to quickly fix and working like new! Their work is superb! Starting taking out concrete around pool and putting in pavers. I know they will do well. Been using them for years and never disappointed! Highly recommended!

We had two estimates for replacing trees that were damaged during the ice storm and for replacing a gravel pathway under our deck that leads to our hot tub. Drew Snodgrass to the rescue, again! This is our second experience working with Drew: he did a major front yard renovation at our previous home (gorgeous) and most recently helped us created a huge level space in our backyard for our daughters wedding. With only a few months before the wedding, Drew advised us how he would approach leveling the space, add flowers to give the yard that special day feel, widen our path to a special space across a creek, and add a bursts of color with hydrangeas, petunias, begonias, impatiens, and geraniums. Drew was there throughout the entire process, working with the crew, answering our never-ending questions, making sure we got the best bang for our buck. He went above and beyond making sure we had the right amount of water running during the 116 degree weather to ensure we didnt lose any plants, and make sure our grass and flowers peaked at just the right moment. Can I come swim in your pool

I needed to install a root barrier along my fence line to stop any encroaching tree roots from damaging my houses foundation. My research of root barriers lead me to the manufacturer of the actual barrier, a local distributor and their reference to 7 Dees. My initial contact with Eric Hagberg was really great. He had me email him pictures of the fence line and then he immediately contacted me about the process, what to expect, how the barrier works, how tree roots spread.... I think you get the picture, all my questions were answered. Eric quickly scheduled the project for the end of August but actually were able to fit the small job in sooner. The day of the install Eric came out along with Jose and his crew. Eric went over the project and Jose and his crew just dug in. I cant begin to tell you how pleased we were with the project and the outcome. There was no way to get a trencher in my yard so they had to hand trench the 25 feet which was no easy task. They removed roots and installed the barrier. By the time they were done, you couldnt even tell that they had been there. Im so pleased with the job that Jose and his crew did. When we do the landscape design and work for the rest of my yard, I know that I will be turning to Eric and 7 Dees again. Many thanks to them.

We recently purchased a new home in NE Portland and Dennis 7 Dees Landscaping had handled the most recent landscape upgrades and the sellers gave us their information. Lars, the contact at 7 Dees could not have been nicer nor more professional. We have had a great experience working with Lars and his team. Our yard turned into a swamp in the spring and early summer. Lars and his crew worked closely with us to deliver a regraded yard that will help move that water from the foundation of our home to the center of the yard and then down the hill and out to the street. I called from overseas trying to get a plant to my father for Fathers Day and was put on hold for 20 mins. When I finally did get to speak to whomever I was transferred to, I arranged for a hanging basket to be delivered only to be put on hold AGAIN for 15 mins. only to be told the delivery cost would be $45.00. That was almost the cost of the hanging basket itself. RIDICULOUS. The most infuriating part was that wasnt shared up front and I was put on hold numerous times when the girl who answered the phone was told this multiple times. Poor service, poor help, poor professionalism. Really disappointed in this place.

We worked with Justin Snodgrass Of Seven Dees to plan the scope of work for our landscaping and lighting project. This included 1. Installation of a improved sprinkling system to eliminate all hand watering. 2. Installing a low voltage lighting system. 3. Replanting the grass. Justin did a excellent job of planning the details and giving us a timely bid. Seven Dees was able to start the job very quickly. Their foreman, Miguel Sanchez , did an outstanding job planning the daily job tasks. He would be at the site before his team and walk thru the tasks for that day. Work started well before 8 a.m. All the tools, equipment, materials were neatly organized and accessible for each task. Everyone knew what to do at all times. Not one time was the job stopped for lack of those items! Miguel, Jake Wasielewski, Darren Elliott, and Sophie Ashcroft had seamless teamwork and demonstrated exceptional efficiency . Each team member was courteous , very knowledgeable and took the time to LISTEN and answer our questions. In addition to the excellent job, they helped us learn the details of the systems and improve our yard maintenance. On a final note the sprinkler and light fixtures are very high quality and durable. We would recommend Seven Dees to anyone wanting head of the class landscape planning and installation.

The flowers and trees are growing perfectly, we now have bees and hummingbirds to watch, and really enjoy some natural beauty while spending so much time at home during this pandemic. Through the design process, labor and speedy execution of the crew, and after completion; the designer Lars has been responsive, kind, and helpful. He is incredibly knowledgeable about plants and gives fantastic advise on the care of them. We would absolutely work with this company again!

My husband and I purchased a home in Portland a couple years ago and hired Dennis7Ds to completely redo an overgrown yard. Lars Nielsen was our Designer and Project Manager. Before we met, he asked us to collect images of plantings we liked. We met again to review the full landscape design plan, including scaled drawings and colored photographs with names of all proposed plantings. The work crew were all friendly and knowledgeable, working efficiently to regrade and create our new outdoor living space. We replaced all lawn with a wide variety of shrubs, flowering perennials and grasses. For new hardscaping, a backyard patio of pavers, stone walkways and custom built wooden fencing were added. Lars has continued to meet with us, explaining plant care and ensuring their continued health. Now in our second year, if we have a question or concern, he has remained available and become a trusted friend. We highly recommend Dennis7Ds to anyone looking for a yard to enjoy for years to come.

After having a great experience with Seven Dees in designing our back garden ten years ago we recently hired them to rebuild and repair after major construction work and they were fabulous once again! Eric, Nate and their crew were so professional, great collaborators, on time, on budget and really made this project fun. Now our back garden is a restored oasis thanks to their hard work and attention to detail. Well be spending many happy hours there. :-)

Eric and his crew did an amazing job redoing our backyard! To this day, we still comment about how much we love the space - the paver patio, the new grass, plants, trees and structure. Eric patiently worked with us to understand our concepts, while building in his own to make a space we enjoy many days of the year.

My first experience with Dennis 7 Dees Landscaping began five years ago. I moved to Oregon from the East Coast which has a much different climate. I met Lars, Landscape Designer and Installation. Lars worked with me in planning the entire project for my new home. There was great communication. Lars has always made the time to solve any of the little issues along the way. Ive been very happy with the crew that comes to do the work and takes the care in protecting all around the work site as well. Dennis 7 Dees has done several projects for me now and Im happy with their work.

Kenna did a phenomenal job turning our vague preferences into a gorgeous backyard fence line with evergreen trees and shrubs. And the 7Dees crew that did the site work was top notch. Would work with 7Dees again.

We are quite pleased with our project. At the first meeting Kenna of 7-Dees outlined the process clearly. The estimated schedule and cost were within expectations and an in-progress suggestion was spot on. Our wonky 25 year old aged out landscaping at this new-to-us house was really unbalanced and overly worked. Kenna suggested options, discussed preferences, listened, to our wants, desires and budget, he then submitted a plan that we reworked a bit but collaboratively, which we wanted. Once approved by us and scheduled, they showed up as promised and worked our project without delay, it took a week. The project looks great now and will only improve as they mature. They were able to work with our existing irrigation system, replacing the applicators as needed for the entirely new plantings. They were super neat and tidy during construction, cleaning up as they went. Color us happy! The birdies will be happy too!

We worked with 7 Dees on a landscaping overhaul of our backyard. One of the 7 Dees lanscape designers, Lars, came to our home and walked us through some of our options. After thinking it through for a few months, we decided to move forward with Lars and 7 Dees. It was the right decision. Lars was detailed and the 7 Dees crew was polite and focused on the details.

We had such a great experience working with 7 Dees in July 2020. They installed irrigation in our existing front lawn, ran new drip irrigation to our raised veggie beds, and prepped and installed new sod plus irrigation in our side yard. Sam, their landscape designer, was super responsive from day 1, and continues to be if ever we have a question. The work crew, led by Julien, were very professional, friendly, and left the work site as clean as could be after each day. I was initially hesitant to go with a bigger, well known company thinking the pricing would be too high, and the service and attention to detail lacking. Man was I wrong on all fronts! I cant recommend 7 Dees more highly, and I will definitely be using them again for future projects.

Lars did an amazing job with our yard. He worked very well with our specific preferences and tastes. In the end, we have a yard our neighbors are still telling us looks great (the work was done six months ago). He did such a great job, we also decided to have him do the backyard, which is now also amazing. I had the pleasure and good fortune of working with Dennis 7 Dees on two major landscaping projects over the past three years - one done in preparation for the sale of a home and the other to upgrade the irrigation system and landscaping at a newly purchased home. The manager for both projects, Kenna Hartman, was outstanding. ASK FOR LARS NIELSON for starters, Ill tell you more later on that...ok here is the deal, and Im going to give it to you straight. Seriously, read this whole review. It will save you time and money. I work in real estate, and by that I mean I run a real estate company with over 800 people...who freaking cares about me...I know you are reading this for you and your peace of mind around a landscaping project, and Im getting there. Most landscapers are just ok, and Ive been doing this for so long that at least I know what questions to ask so that my expectations are met. So 1 out of 10, most get a 5. They are fine..just fine...whatever. So a few years ago I decided to landscape a house I had lived in for 17 years. LARS NIELSON did it and it was fantastic. I couldnt believe the ease of the project and the cleanliness of the crew. Amazing. Five Stars for sure. Annnnnnnddddd to be honest I felt like it was a little expensive. I wouldnt know though because I didnt bid it out. So like most homeowners I got that house exactly where I wanted it and sold it to buy my dream house...and when I say dream house what I mean is the Money Pit and War of the Roses. Its in the west hills on a slope that literally fell off during a slide a few years ago. Yay me. So this time, new house, I decided to get A LOT of bids for landscaping. This beast on two lots was scaring me to death on cost and potentially another slide. So I called and bid out 5 FIVE different places (I called around 15 places-I lost track). WHAT A CLOWN SHOW. Some companies were from a magazine with ads (yes they pay to advertise and then dont even call you back), and after hours and hours of gathering up bids and talking to some very nice people. I realized that not one company came back with anything professional. No drawings (or they wanted me to pay $5000 down to have their design crew draw up plans without even an idea of what they might do) No legitimate bid. ZERO conversation on how to stabilize the hill and what they could do on that. A lot of well we cant promise anything. I had pretty much settled on a company but honestly I just wasnt wowed....so.... I called LARS NIELSON up again....juuuuust to see if I had miss judged the feeling that I paid too much....He met with me, asked for my pinterest page of ideas, and had drawings within a week! WOWZA..but then here comes the price tag right?!?!! No, actually...I had listened to everyone else talk about Dennis 7 Dees being SO EXPENSIVE, and they just arent. You pay for what you get. And what I was getting before LARS was a clown show that could have cost me a lot more in the end. Lars laid it out for me so that we can do my house in 3 phases. The drawing was exactly what I wanted in my mind. He made my dreams on my Pinterest page come to life and through all of that...the crew is CLEAN, fast, accurate, kind, happy people that just make life easy. They are NOT your average contractor. They are the most professional group of workers (with LARS NIELSON running them) and I literally cannot believe how happy I have been....twice now. A few things...Speed of the leader, speed of the pack. I dont know about the other project managers so just dont use anyone else. Demand that Lars be your guy. In the absences of value. price becomes everything The reason people have a fit about the cost of Dennis 7 Dees is because they didnt find the value. Ask for Lars, you will not be disappointed in value. Just over here living in my Alice in Wonderland garden of amazingness....thanks Lars and team. You made this girls dreams come true. Tried to get some information about the garden center at this location. The front desk ignored my dad and I, just to gossip with her co-worker.

Had someone come out to quote me on some landscaping, and he was very nice, but overall I was dissatisfied with my experience. Asked for the quote to be separated out so I could choose which things Id like done based on cost. The quote wasnt separated out like Id asked and it was all much more expensive than expected, so I asked how much to only have a tree removed. I got an email back saying they wouldnt do just the tree. FYI, they will not do any landscaping for less than $600. They might provide good service, but I cant speak to that.

Just because one checks for the nearest location doesnt mean one actually went there. As the location wasnt real close. Five stars because the system works.

Discontinued services with my sisters account. There was initial mis- communication related to outstanding billing, however, Sean Snodgrass, Account Manager, took the time to personally look into it and wrote off the outstanding balance and wrote a personal letter indicating what he had done. Very nice personal touch which is rare now days.

This company forgets that I have backyard. I am going on week six without my landscaping being done. There are weeds as high as three feet tall. Grass that has not been cut and about a foot tall. Just plain negligent.

7 Dees, you should be fined! My neighbor is having a backyard project done that has taken a month so far. Noisy workmen arrive at 7AM run caterpillar and then take off when it warms up. Today a huge crane has our street closed off with pallets of cinder block being swung over our house. The noise is deafening. No advance warning or communication. Ive called the landscaping division of this company and the guy is always away from his desk or on vacation, so does not return calls. This morning the street is blocked off and we cant move our vehicle on the street because it is blocked by huge white bags and equipment. The very least you could do is give close neighbors a warning. The property owners are still on vacation--smart people!

Good work! I have not had them do my planting but their plants & trees are affordable and healthy and I am very happy with my Japanese maples. I would recommend them to my friends.
