We are a lawn and landscape company located in Pocatello, Idaho. We specialize in commercial grounds maintenance. We have been in business for over 11 years and handle sprinkler system installation and repairs, weekly lawn and landscape services, fertilizing, general landscaping, snow removal, Tree removal and Excavation services. The only reason I'm giving them a one is because zero is not available. They were supposed to be at my house Wednesday morning and never showed up talked to the woman who was setting it all up she said she would make sure they would be here Thursday morning never showed up again there was no call or no apologies just nothing what a way to do business guys kind of hard to keep customers when you won't even show up to their house
Our once dusty dirt yard was transformed into a beautiful perennial area for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds! Janice the owner was very helpful with helping us put this new landscape together. She was reasonably priced, professional and easy to work with. Her crew that worked here were Robert, BJ, Mike and one other guy can’t remember his name at the moment) were awesome! Robert was crew boss and worked well with his staff. They were all about doing things right for us to get 100% of what we wanted. They work fast but are very efficient! And the staff at the Pocatello Nursery (also owned by Janice) were awesome with helping us with choosing perennials and trees. I would highly recommend Mountain Top Lawn Care! We plan to keep using them for future needs. P&D
Five stars does not adequately express what a great company Mountain Top Lawn Care is. I have used them on multiple occasions and each time have been completely satisfied with my experience. They have been hyper-responsive, great communicators, and performed high quality professional services. Most recently I worked with Robert. He was very good to communicate with me and fit me into his otherwise very busy schedule. I have also worked with the owner, Jan, and found her to be very professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant to work with. Without hesitation, I would recommend anyone use Mountain Top Lawn Care and will continue to use them in the future.
These guys are the best! I called the owner and she came out asap without any questions the same day to just simply help me with my very sick lawn. She didn’t even know who I was! She gave me tons of advice on how and what to do to help heal my lawn and went through each of my sprinkler settlings with me, as I didn’t understand how it all worked. I was able to get all of the products and my lawn is on the mend. I would 100% recommend this business for ANY and ALL services!!! I will never switch.
Wouldn't recommend. The crew member that showwd up about 45 mins to turn off a burst line seemed intoxicated and wouldn't provide company name had to go to the business that had the sprinkler burst to get their info. Also the company rep or what ever you wanna call her was rude and totally unhinged.
I called mountain top and they made an appointment but didn't show up. When I spoke to him, he said he was boating. He said he would come tomorrow. I messaged 3 more times with no response. I messaged again the 3rd day and got no response. I am a business owner. Communication is key for any business. This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with in 40 years. I would not use or ever recommend them.
After turning on my sprinklers in May 2021, my double check pressure valve has a leak. I hired Mountain Top Lawn to install a new valve for $600.00. They installed a new brand (different manufacture and model than the old valve). However, when trying to get the valve inspected for city irrigation in 2022, the inspector stated that specific make and model of valve needed to be installed 12 inches above ground, not flush mounted as Mountain Top installed. I asked if Mountain Top has any availability to come correctly the issues and John Nelson lost his mind. He first stated that his crew did not do the work, despite proof of payment. He categorically refused to correct his mistake. He stated that I knew enough about sprinkler systems to specifically request that the valve his crew supplied should be mounted flush to the ground. He was completely unprofessional and started insulting me and calling me names. He then cut off all communication and I still have a valve installed incorrectly - so incorrectly that it will not pass inspection to be officially used in the city of Chubbuck. Not just my irrigation water, but my household drinking water can be shut off because of Mountain Top's mistake that John Nelson refuses to easily correct.
I hired John and the crew to install my sprinklers. They were punctual and had the whole thing done in a day (minus the tie in). I'm really happy with the whole crew. They are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I'm very happy with the system and look forward to a summer off of rushing home to hand water every day. I wish I could give them 5 stars but they are horrible at returning calls and showing up for annual maintenance. For install they are okay, for ongoing customer service they are horribly lacking.
Was told they would show up Wednesday (no show), then was told Thursday morning (no show). Then no reply. Not a good first impression.

Callee to schedule an appointment, person was extremely rude saying they were booked up and hung up. Never leave reviews but won t be calling them back
Had to call and call to schedule sprinkler system installation. He then send 14 year olds to my home to install it, which they did 2 days later leaving litter all over my yard. Didn t finish the job he agreed to do. I now have an unleveled yard with dirt and weeds, and angry home owners association. He doesn t respond to my calls/txts. Very irresponsible. Do not recommend!
They helped me out with a sprinkler system problem and wouldnt take any money for it, good people deserve praise, thank you for all the help.

This winter has been tough, that Mountaintop kept my walks and driveway cleaned and salted in a timely manner. My husband and I are so grateful. Fall cleanup was perfect and so our yard is looking really great this spring. Trees are trimmed. They did a lot of special maintenance for me this last fall and winter and I couldnt be happier. Especially appreciate the trees they took out and the new fence. It all looks fabulous.
Try someone else. They rescheduled an appointment to the next day..not a big deal...but then never replied again until I told them nevermind. (Cant keep waiting and reaching out with nothing back.)Then their reply to my text was less than kind
I know John personally, and he is a great guy. I little high energy and opinionated, but he really does care about people, he is a great businessman, and a very hard worker. I live in an apartment complex and therefore have never hired him for services, but I have had countless conversations about his business and have been very impressed.

Great lawn care service, they work until late verses many lawn care services to make sure lawns are done in time. They mow, edge, trim and blow off side walks. Also dependable
Other than phone bills, I have never had a service that pre-billed a customer. Be aware, they do. I discontinued service due to increased and non pre- approved costs and services. Assumption was made by company that last year is what you desire this year. Owner suggested I must have a decrease in my financial ability to pay. Offensive behavior to a senior citizen. I paid in full all charges and discontinued service with Mountain Top. ASK FOR ALL DETAILS .
I called this company to get a bid on fixing a bad sprinkler line. While speaking with John he was very rude and disrespectful in general. He said he would only do this kind of job for one of his clients. Then he proceeded to tell me that my lawn care crew was obviously not good enough and I needed to hire people that knew what they were doing. (Hence why I was calling a lawn care company?) I have never been treated so horribly by a company. He hung up on me to end the conversation. Very rude and disrespectful, I was shocked to call a service company to be treated so poorly.
BEST regular lawn care service in the Portneuf Valley! When we bought our home, the yard had been neglected for several years. Grass was brown; only thing growing was dandelions. John and his crew do amazing, detailed lawn care that made our yard a literal award-winner that first season! Excellent service for very reasonable rates!
