I had lots of weeds and a large number of bare spots in the lawn. since I started the service the weeds are down to just a few and they are even almost dead. The bare spots are filling in the overall lawn is look so much better Lawn is still doing great, happy with the service and would recommend for someone that needs lawn care services.

We have used Village Green for years and they have always provided outstanding service. In particular, Orlando, provides consistent service and notifies me of any concerns.

When I first contacted Village Green I was hesitant to pay money to have a service with no guarantees. Ken and Sam both assured me that if I was patient, my yard would come around. Knowing they had all the materials and know how to take care of my yard, I went forward with treatment. Orlando is our tech and hes great! He knows exactly what hes doing. He calculates where to kill the weeds and grass (sometimes killing the grass is unavoidable) and as long as we water regularly, the grass fills back in. Our yard is now filled with lush, deep green Bermuda grass. This is a far cry from what our yard used to be. Filled with dallisgrass, mostly bare spots, and so many weeds. Orlando identified where the actual grass was and over the past year our yard has taken a huge turn for the best. After this fall, with a bit of seeding, our yard will be nearly complete and weed free. Not to mention completely filled with actual grass! I cant thank you all enough for what youve done for us. Well be long term customers without a doubt!

I have used Village Green for lawn health and irrigation services. Our lawn struggled with brown patch late in the summer as well as rabbit damage. Village Green are extremely knowledgeable professionals who were able to help me understand what the problem was and how they could treat it. The owner came personally to walk my property and give a personalized assessment and estimate. He was very clear about what I did and did not need. Their team also repaired some damaged sprinklers and gave me an estimate for improving my irrigation setup. Both were extremely reasonable especially given their quality of work. I had previously paid significantly more for a similar repair. Ken s weekly lawn tip videos are very helpful, and their watering advice is essential for lawn health. We have invested a lot of our time and money to have a yard we can enjoy and be proud of. The team at Village Green have the knowledge and expertise to ensure that investment reaches its full potential. Every interaction with them is a pleasure. Their online account management system is very convenient and easy to use. I just wish I could also have them for cutting my lawn as well. We had recently had a bad experience with a landscape designer and knew we didnt want to use that group to implement the design. I knew Ken from church, but we had not used Village Greens services until now. We are hooked. The level of professionalism exhibited with our hardscape and redesign of the front landscaping - stellar! Implemented quickly, almost didnt know they were there, and little things we didnt expect, like ridding the yard of leaves before they left - all of the attention to detail was wonderful! AND saved us lots of $ by taking time to learn if our existing sprinkler system was functional, rather than recommending and outright replacement Highly recommend Village Green (and already have!).

Man that does estimates wouldn t even come to house. Instead he thought he could by satellite . Then he said he would not give one because I have an oak tree. Not asking if I would have it trimmed and defying the other experts on and off the internet. I believe he would not give an estimate because it wasn t a large amount of money, and didn t want to mess with the smaller yard. Terrible way to do business thank God there are other people that are experts, and have high character.

Weve used Village Green for 10+ years for fertilizing & weed control of our lawn. Six years ago, they added a landscaped area, which we have been very pleased with. They updated it last year, cleaning, weeding & adding new plants after Ice-ma-geddon. We highly recommend them.

Have had Village Green fertilize my lawn for about three years. They brought my lawn back from the dead. Back yard was covered in wild strawberry. Within a couple of months it was gone and within the year lawn was full and green again. Cannot recommend Village Green enough for a full green lawn and best looking in your neighborhood!

I had a horrible problem with weeds and dead spots on my lawn. Since Village Green has been applying weed control, my lawn is in much better shape. Other companies simply told me to apply new sod to fix the problem. With time and care and following the watering guidelines, my lawn has a much more consistent appearance.

We enjoyed working with Ken (owner) but unfortunately we needed to cancel our plans before work began. Without asking, Ken offered to refund our deposit in full and followed up with a check in just a couple of days. High integrity.

Long story short, my husband and I bought our first home and our yard was SO green and thriving . with weeds. We did not know that at the time but we took some photos and shared with Ken at Village Green. He explained the different types of weeds and said we hardly had any real grass. He explained what he and his team would be able to accomplish and how they would accomplish it. He is very knowledgeable and you can tell Ken is very passionate about what he does. We signed up for the Fertilization & Weed Control + Insect Protection plan with the Village Green team and could not be any happier with their service. What we especially love is that they are a small team so it is almost always the same team member (Hi, Orlando!) coming out for the services. We like this because we feel the service application is consistent. Another thing that we really like are the reports that get sent to us after every service. The report shows who serviced the lawn, the time, temperature and wind speed during the service, what was done, what was observed and some recommendations. The reports also include a short bio of the team member who performed the service so we felt it was a nice touch. Ken also sends out newsletters and posts YouTube videos which we have found to be helpful. Overall, my husband and I are very pleased with the Village Green team. If you are looking for a great team to care for your lawn, give Ken a call. You will not regret it.

After new landscape was installed last year, Village Green/Lee reconfigured part of our irrigation system and added a new zone. Lee listened to our concerns and went to work. Village Green installed a decomposed granite path in my backyard. It s better than I imagined! The team was friendly and professional. Village Green did an Outstanding job for me recently. I needed to have all of my landscaping beds worked on. They removed some dead shrubs and added some new plants that Hannah had recommended and added dirt and mulch so the levels were appropriate in all of the beds. The crew did a great job. My most recent use of Village green was for irrigation system repair and maintenance. I have a yard full of squirrels who feast on ouir pecan trees and stop for water by biting into our drip line irrigation. The village green tech expertly discovered and patched each hole and checked out the whole system.

Village Green has taken care of my lawn for many years. I pre-pay for all the lawn services (grub treatment, fertilizer, weed control, etc) so that I dont have to worry about paying periodic bills throughout the season. I know its taken care of. I also hired them to completely redo the landscaping in my backyard. They were attentive to my design ideas and completed the job quickly and beautifully. My backyard, around my pool, is now a place that I enjoy sitting as the plants/shrubs are thoughtfully placed.

Village green was excellent to work with. During the freeze this winter, we lost a decent amount of bushes in our front landscaping. Ken came out, had specific plants in mind to put back, and wrote up a proposal with pictures of the plants. They also built a border wall the entire length of the landscaped area. Andres and his team they subcontract to do the wall did an excellent job and made it look exactly as we expected. Their work was efficient and seems to be very high quality. Then, Hannah with Village Green continued with the exceeded expectations by fully listening to us on what we wanted, moved plants and borders around as desired, and managed everyone in an efficient manner to get the job done. The whole crew definitely went above and beyond. Throughout the entire process, the whole team was very easy to talk to and we were easily able to communicate our exact vision. They executed it perfectly. My only complaint was they couldnt start earlier! Understandable, though, as everyone in the metroplex was trying to landscape at the same time. Ultimately, great work and I was very pleased with the outcome.

Ken, Hannah and team are the best. I dont think Ive worked with a better service provider or one that cares more about doing right by customers. They do excellent work, and their proactive follow-up and diligence in fixing any punch list items were much appreciated. I would definitely work with them again. Very highly recommended.

Hanna and her team saw me struggling to get a dead plant removed from my yard and took time to lend a hand. it may have been 5 or 10 min. but it meant the world to me as it would have taken me all day. When it is time for my project I will call this company!

I recently used Village Green to landscape my front yard. What makes this company outshine all the others is their communication skills. They didn t try to sell me on their services. Instead, they listened. Listened to what I wanted and what I liked. Then they put a plan in place to accomplish it. They worked within my budget and ended up adding some extra touches for free to make sure the landscape was as beautiful as I had imagined. They continued to communicate, whether it was arranging schedules, project progression, or just making sure they were meeting expectations. Everyone who worked at my house was happy, courteous, and very industrious. After completion, they cleaned up any mess that was made and continued to check on my satisfaction. My wife and I recently contracted with Village Green on a sizable landscape project in our backyard. They removed 16 trees and various shrubs that had seen better days, On Kens recommendation to create some privacy, layers and of course color, with minimal maintenance we simply could not be happier with the result. Revived my weed infested yard after two other nationally known companies absolutely destroyed the grass with chemicals but left the weeds. Village Green came in and within 6 months the yard was making a huge turn around and after a full year it was beautifully green, weed free and healthy. Village Green has always been super responsive with 24hr or less turn around on questions and review of yard issues. Their service is first class and I fully recommend them for all your yard needs.

I spoke with Ken last fall about our St. Augustine grass. We gave Tru-Green a try for 2019 and were not satisfied with the condition of the grass throughout the year. Our lawn has looked great in 2020 after Kens team has been servicing it and weve renewed for 2021 and added services for pest and disease treatment. One of the most important things to me was having someone to talk to about my yard concerns. A national brand with a call center wasnt adequate for me. When I called Village Green for the first time I had Ken, the owner, on the phone for I think 30 minutes. He took the time to explain the basics of caring for St. Augustine and the treatments they would do and what to expect. I dont leave many reviews, but I think Kens business is one of the few that are worth the time and effort. Very happy with him and his team. They are great people.

My lawn was an absolute mess, with weeds covering the back yard. No matter what I tried I could not get control back. Village Green said they could get it under control likely within a year, as long as we had sun, water, and some good treatment. Well, about 6 months later our lawn was looking flawless. Just nice, thick healthy grass that we could actually use. Once of the best vendors in Plano that we work with, definitely worth the shot if your lawn needs help like ours did.

I actually have not used their services but I had requested a quote on their website for some work that we needed done for our property and they reached out to me and were very helpful. Paula called me the next day and referred me to a company that could help me with all of the items I need done. I feel that this company went the extra mile to call me and help me with my needs even if it meant referring my business to another company. This showed me that they value my potential business and I imagine they would treat their established clients with the same level of care. I plan to call them first next time I need any landscaping services.

Update: Updated review to 3 stars. After placing this review I was contacted by the company and reimbursed for the full amount paid for the design that did not meet my expectations. I am removing my previous notes.

Every time I have scheduled a service they are very responsive and timely. My lawn has certainly improved. I do wish they would assess my other landscaping (outside of my lawn) to make any recommendations for care and continued health. Their billing procedure is a little confusing but they are honest and available to work through any confusion. Would recommend Village Green as a quality enterprise.

We hired Ken and his team to redo our entire 1/2 acre backyard. It was a huge project, and they did an unbelievable job. The communication throughout the entire process was fantastic. They took their time and did ALL the required prep work. Most companies will just come dig a hole, plant something and then cover it up with mulch. They actually created the beds, tilled it at least twice and included compost, and then dug the holes and planted. Prep work is everything when it comes to landscaping. Ive made the mistake of hiring the cheaper option before, and it shows. You for sure get what you pay for in landscaping. In addition to the plants, their team did extensive work to my existing irrigation system. That turned out really well too. In addition to the plants, my existing grass looks 10x better now too. The follow up so far has been phenomenal as well. Ken has come out a couple times, and so has the irrigation team to ensure everything is getting the appropriate amount of water, etc. They dont just do the job and then forget about you. They make sure that everything is done COMPLETELY. A big shout out to Hannah and her team - Johnny, Miguel and Kristian. They were all amazing. We still have a lot more work that needs to be done, and theyll definitely be the ones getting the work. A+, trustworthy, and just downright good people. Highly recommended.

First year of using Village Green and my lawn is heading in a total different direction. I was having large brown brittle patches in the St. Augustine grass, but now the grass is green and spots have been eliminated. I like the fact that Technicians leave a detail report of what they found, what they did, and any recommendations if applicable.

As a homeowner, I ve always had pride in how my yard looked. I never minded spending more for the brand name fertilizers or pre-emergents because I felt they gave me an edge. No matter how hard I tried though, I couldn t eliminate all the weeds or create a thick, healthy lawn. A friend of mine recommended Ken and Village Green. All in, I m paying less now than I was when I was trying to do it all myself and the lawn looks great. No weeds or bare spots. We have been Village Green customers for just over a year now. In that time, we have found them to be consistent, reliable, flexible, and professional on all fronts. We use them for a near-full care package and have been delighted with the results, especially the lawn work and seasonal color installations in our front beds. An example of the level of service you can expect under a contract with Village Green: they sent us some photos of areas in our lawn that were not getting the right amount of water and suggested a sprinkler system service call. We had that with Sam this past weekend, and it was an excellent session for a minimal investment - he fixed our coverage issues on the spot and helped us improve the schedules for our watering while still meeting watering restrictions. The service was ok at times BUT they either missed billing me or sent it to the wrong address and sent it to collections without so much as a phone call or a duplicate bill. They said they tried to call and our voice mails were full. Thats a bold face lie or they have issues trying to use the phone to dial the correct number. Either way both our phones are always empty of voice mails so this was total bulls**t! My advice to current customers is the billing lady has issues so beware! By the way my credit score is over 800 and I have never missed a payment in my 49 years of doing business with people.

Called Village Green this morning because of the large leak in the main line of our sprinkler system. Johnny Gonzalez came out and assessed the issue and said he could fix it right away, and was that OK? The actual repair appointment was not until the next day. Johnny came out to Shute the water to the sprinkler system off, but was able to fix it right away in under two hours. He was fair, efficient and did a great job repairing the system. I can t say enough about Village Green.

We used Village Green for years at our home in Garland--the service we received then was impeccable, but upon our recent inquiry to our new home in McKinney, the lady returning our call was not very helpful! She did not offer much besides telling us it would be MONTHS before we could have anyone come to evaluate our landscaping concerns. She was quick to say bye-bye and so are we!!! Sad to see a company who prides itself on customer service come to this!

They send an email the day before confirming their appointment and leave an explanation of what they treated the following day. Ive used Village Green for 3 years now for general lawn care (fertilizer, weed, and some bug control) and for sprinkler repairs. Theyve done a fantastic job and I have recommended them to several friends and neighbors. My lawn is always the nicest on the block, the people that do the work are very professional and on-time, and Ken (the owner) is very responsive and helpful with my questions. Finally, I like that all the billing and account info is online so I can review what theyve done and see the schedule for the whole year, plus I have it set up to autobill, so easy to manage.

My house front yard has 2 large trees that prevent sun from leaching my lawn for most of the day. As a result, I had large bare spots because grass simply could not grow. Ken Hyatt & his landscape designer provided a very detailed plan & drawing to make it much more attractive. Using a combination of hardy plants, river rock & zoysia grass, Village Green has tranformed my yard. They are expensive but they are very, very good. If you want cheap, look elsewhere; if you want quality, call Ken. I can make more money but I cannot replace poor workmanship. The only complaint I have, & its perhaps minor in the grand scope of things, is the lack of communication from Village Greens foreman. He does excellent work, is very knowledgeable & is very personable. He simply had a problem letting me know when he was going to be here. After the initial job was done, I needed some minor repairs & he was perfect in letting me know when I could expect him. Im assuming he has accepted that customer communication is as important the rest of the job. Overall, I rate Village Green as A & will not hesitate to use them again.

Im a new subscriber to Village Green, and my lawn is looking better already! I also signed up for the Mosquito Assassin program, and have had one treatment so far. Before that treatment I was getting bit whenever I went outside, and would have to battle the mosquitoes that got in the house. So far, no bites since the treatment and none in the house!

I love Village Green! Their Sprinkler Tune-Up is just the BEST! I know nothing about sprinklers...they are just something in the grass that must work if my lawn and garden is going to grow. And I do know when there is something wrong you suddenly have an unexpected fountain in the yard wasting precious water. Thanks to Village Green my sprinklers work as they should but I also know if the unexpected happens they are there to fix it for me.

I have tried almost every company with green in their name and they have all failed except Village Green. They have worked with me, Ken answers the phone when I call, and we are solving the problems with my lawn.

All I needed was a broken pvc pipe fixed and these people made it the most complicated thing I have attempted in years. Know-it-all attitude but cant follow simple directions or communicate. It they cant dig a hole in the ground I would not want them doing anything else to my yard. Just sayin.
