Really terrible experience with this company. We hired them for general lawn maintenance. This included mowing, trimming, and fertilization. We were immediately upset to learn that they contract out to TruGreen for fertilization. Weve worked with TruGreen in the past and already had a bad experience with them as TruGreen tends to leave generic recommendations. Their mowers would show up at odd hrs with no notice and they wre never the same person. They were rushed and careless. We are pretty certain one of the mowers knocked out one of our sprinklers which had to be replaced. At the end of our year with JC, our lawn was completely dead. My husband and I are now getting quotes for sod installation. Worst part of this experience is when we reached out with our concerns, we were totally ignored or brushed off. My husband had to reach out to them multiple times to get a call back. And when he did finally get a hold of someone to come out and take a look, they didnt show and didnt notify him.

They ve been absolutely amazing, very responsive, and reasonably priced for weekly yard maintenance. They ve even provided tips on flowers for the flower bed when asked. I d absolutely could not recommend them enough!

Reliable, professional service, and very responsive to emails.

My yard was an absolute disaster of mud, wild bushes, and dead leaves everywhere. They came in and conquered the neglected mess and maintained it for a year. They did an amazing job of planting sod once it was cleaned up and even came back and filled in some gaps from the initial installation very quickly. The customer service was always a pleasant interaction and they even adjusted to specific asks to alter their processes, like using paper only bags so the city would pick up the yard waste. It was a pleasure doing business with this company and one day I hope to again.

I had my yard mowed once a week for several months after my husband broke his leg and wrist. The yard was mowed each week and without any interruption to me or my schedule. This business was responsive and the cost was reasonable.

They did the spring scalping for my yard. It was discussed and agreed that theyll scalp the yard, bag the clippings and dispose them. They however left all the bags behind and it is sitting in the front yard for 3 days. They do not respond to calls nor do they return calls. Very unprofessional service and Ill be sure to report them to my Richwoods management.

JCs cleared out some dead Hawthorns from the freeze last year and installed new privet along my fence and topped up soil and mulch. They were efficient, had top quality plants and material and worked around my existing plants and left the area clean. Would definitely recommend and continue to use this company. Excellent landscape company!

Great service overall.

I have used this company for almost a year now. Every week I have to email the owner to remind them to weed and maintain landscape. They still do a poor quality job. For 250 dollars a month I expect to not have to babysit a company that expensive for lawn and landscape maintenance. They show up for ten minutes a week mow and leave the landscaping a complete mess.

I was one of their first customers about twenty-five years ago. I have never had a major complaint. All the minor ones are taken care of immediately. Great company to work with.

I hired JC s to install new sod in my yard in 2021. They did an awful job on my yard, and I would never hire them again. They broke the pipe to my sprinklers and left the work site without fixing it, so I couldn t water my new sod on day one. Their crew chief wouldn t stay on site and supervise his people, so when I had issues with their work nobody would correct anything. They claim they offer a warranty, but I never got any grass replaced even when it failed to root because of their errors. I m seeing even worse issues now that it s been a full season, though, because the grass simply isn t doing well. They bid the project sight unseen, and it really shows. They installed grass in areas that can t support it due to shade, in areas where drainage means it can t get enough water, and so on, without estimating (or doing) re-grading or other work. They raised the ground around the yard but left my sprinklers at a low height, so a bunch of the sod died in patches from poor water coverage. These are amateurish mistakes that a halfway competent company wouldn t make. JC s is not a halfway competent company.

Love our lawn service with JC. They are very responsive to emails and friendly staff. They have easy payment set up on their portal which gives all your lawn care info, which is a big plus for me! Highly recommend for landscaping services!

DO NOT USE! It s been a month for us trying to fix our leaking sprinklers. No phone responses and only get responses via email. They give us certain day/time that they will come but no one ever comes. Waste of our time waiting around for no one to show up. I don t usually leave reviews but this deserve a 0 stars because it s so weird how they have 5 stars?! Not professional at all!

JCs landscaping did an amazing job on my landscape. After the winter storm most of my shrubs died but they were able to get me scheduled quickly, gave me a choice in the type of shrubs and flowers planted and made my landscape look beautiful again. They also installed everything exactly the way I requested. I have used them for a few years now and the price is always fair and the work is always good. If they make a mistake they promptly address it. Also, any time I call or email with questions or concerns my phone/email call is always promptly returned.

I contracted JCs to do stonework around my homes flowerbeds and large trees. Clint was excellent to work with in getting me a quote very quickly and scheduling the job. They even got my job in earlier due to a cancellation. The crew was on time and did excellent work. The head worker consulted with me on aesthetic choices on the masonry and it came out exactly as I wanted. Very happy with the service overall. Quality and workmanship was top notch.

Just moved in and didnt have a lawn mower of my own, told them the yard was very unkempt and to come out ASAP. They didnt manage to get me scheduled after the first time I called them (the first red flag) and I recieved a notice from the city so I asked them to please come before the inspector came again and they said theyd waive the tall grass fee. They were supposed to come Thursday, no call, no show, so I called them and asked what was up, they said theyd come tomorrow so I asked them to please come early in the morning because the inspector was supposed to come to see if the yard was brought in compliance that day. Around noon I get a call saying that they came by and left because they werent equiped to mow the yard and that it would cost extra. I went to home Depot and bought the cheapest little mower that could, and knocked it out in 30 minutes (not before I got fined of course). Poor communication skills, seemed like they never kept notes so if you told someone something on the phone itd be gone and forgotten.

JC Landscaping started maintaining our lawn just prior and through the pandemic, on routine and never failed. When one crew couldnt make it, another was there and it was pretty seamless, we only noticed because our regular team knows about certain quirky areas so only a small area was missed but they sent someone within the week to trim it. We couldnt be happier and our lawn is basically in a constant state of tidy & well-kempt! They also did a beautiful job with placing sod for us and checking how things were going, Clint is very responsive. If you keep him informed about any patches which arent quite working, as you go, he has offered to replace as needed. But we followed his instructions and it turned out great and greened-up without needing any replacement sod. JCLandscaping (from Clint and his team at planning stages, to Sergio and his crew on site) has always had a positive, can-do attitude which I greatly appreciate!!! I am a bit finicky about which plants I have against the house and Ive been hesitant, but I finally asked for help and not only did they make great suggestions, but they let me participate as much or as little as I wanted in re-landscaping the front. I sketched a map and they followed it while allowing for flexibility too. (Remember as a customer too, we must be a little flexible ourselves given current availability and the fact we are working with nature - plants and weather) They revamped the entire front beds with high nutrient soil plus the premium, dark mulch which I requested along with very specific shrubs which they were able to find! The crew is so easy going and Sergio is a pleasure to work with, theyre all so genuinely kind, along with the hard work they provide, which are priceless qualities. The prices are competitive and based off square footage/task, plus the entire team goes above and beyond, so you are getting top quality and value for all your landscaping needs!

JC installed stone borders around the flower beds and replaced some plants for us. The met with us and provided helpful recommendations, worked with us to get us a quote and get the work approved by the HOA, scheduled the work, showed up on time and got it done quickly and correctly. The end result looks great! They did excellent work. The stone cutters left a lot of debris, and the planters destroyed the drip lines, but JC came back a couple of days later and fixed it all up again. Overall, it was a positive experience.

JC has rebuilt our front landscape. We are very happy for all the quick responses, on schedule services, listening and meeting my requirements, and the best of all the nice landscaping that I always wanted. We ll definitely recommend JC to everyone! Hint: If you have perennials and annuals, you need be there when they plant them. Our plants are a little scattered. But I still give them 5 star!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! ONCE YOUVE READ THIS YOU CANT SAY YOU HAVENT BEEN WARNED. ALL of these 4 star reviews have to be friends/family or paid. We went off good the google reviews also, thinking that everything was going to be great work. We re not taking about quotes of a couple hundred dollars. This company is charging thousands of dollars!!! Which I would have been fine with, had the work been done. A credit card was required before any work was done, (my mistake as a first time home buyer). Go to YELP, this companies real reviews are there. My husband took care of this whole thing (before my name was changed), until no one would answer or call us back AFTER we had been charged in full. This company is out to get your credit card, do half the work, if any at all, and hope you get tired of trying to contact them and just forget about it!! This company has BY FAR the worst business tactic known to man. My husband and I used them for 3 French drains and to fix our flower bed. We read reviews on google that gave them almost 5 stars (HAAAAA yeah freaking right). Those reviews had to have been paid for by them or done by friends. They would respond to us and call us back BEFORE they put our credit card on file. After that, it took them forever to give my husband a date as to when they would be out to do the work. It was always, well be out Monday or Tuesday and then never show. Two weeks later when they finally showed up, it was completely random and the guys they hired to do the job didnt know they were doing 3 French drains, luckily my husband was home and redirected them. The work they did was good (not complaining about that), however when we asked when they were coming back to do our flowerbed the guys working told us tomorrow. Fast forward two weeks, still no one had come to do the flower bed and our card was charged for the FULL PRICE. My husband called over and over...no answer and no call back. They would only respond through email. Told us again they would be out either Thursday or Friday. Never came. Finally it took me going up and talking to someone in person and threatening to call my credit card company for fraud before anything was done about it. I told rick or whoever I had talked too that I wanted to be reimbursed for the work that was never done. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Like I said, they are out to get your money hoping you wont want to deal with trying to get ahold of them!!!!

I hired this company to provide lawn care: mow, edge, and to trim a few shrubs. The phone staff taking care of quotes and booking was great. The actual product, leaves a bit to be desired. The person cutting the lawn was quick, but blew the clippings in my neighbors yard and street. The lawn cutting is the quality level I expected from a contractor; mediocre. The group cutting the shrubs showed up and started working, thankfully I heard them so I could run out and tell them how I wanted the shrubs trimmed, unfortunately they didnt listen and cut the shrubs a foot shorter than we discussed 10 minutes earlier. They did, take the shrub clippings with them, and the shrubs dont look terrible. This is an average lawn service company.

JCs has been doing my lawn maintenance for over a year, and I couldnt be happier. They are very dependable, do a great job all the away around, and their prices are competitive in the north Texas market. They are also willing to do shrub trimming, and their prices are very competitive for that as well!

Would only give me a quote based on plans for our lot and gave us a quote that was easily 500 sq ft more than needed. Would not recommend these folks as they won t even take the time to do a proper quote. Update: After getting the original Quote, the owner contacted me and worked with me to get an accurate measure and re-adjust the quote to give me a fair price. Update (March 2020): I have to adjust my review due to issues with the zoysia sod that this company provided. All of the sod died, and when I asked about replacing it, they came out with one pallet and replaced part of the sod. About half of that sod died and the remainder exploded with weeds. I don t know where they get their Zoysia, but it was horrible, it turns out that even after they came out and replaced some of the sod, none of their sod rooted and we lost most of the lawn over the winter. And now they want me to repay over again (essentially the entire price that I paid last time) to fix the bad sod. And since they have put down bad sod twice, I have no faith that even if I paid again that the sod would survive. I can no longer recommend this company. They might be ok for mowing lawns, but for sod replacement, search somewhere else.

I reached out for quotes from several companies and JCs largely won out from responsiveness and their online portal for payments, services, etc. Past experience with other companies was either a pain (faulty payment system based on PayPal) or just lack of response/followup. JCs was always quick to respond and if there was an issue quick to resolve it.

I had services with JCs for over a year. They only missed a scheduled service a few times, but only because of weather. They are very quick when servicing, yet the quality of their work is solid. Further, they are priced very well. I would recommend their services in a heartbeat if you are looking for getting out of the Texas heat and having a company handle your lawn care for you.

Installed sod, which died within weeks. They told me to wait until summer and get back to them. After doing so they told me its past warranty (3 months) and refused to fix it. Most of my lawn is dead and theyve refused to help. They also didnt communicate during installation and had to redo it twice. I have no idea how they have so many good reviews. EDIT: This was NOT due to neglect. I followed all instructions and specifically asked what I should do to keep sod alive. Was only told to water. I did my own research and found a regiment that includes specific fertilizers, nitrogen, etc for the type of grass they installed. They did not help me at all and about 75% of the installed sod is in bad shape

Our lawn mower had a gas leak and we called JC s Landscaping and I m not exaggerating, they came out the very next day. Every two weeks, like clockwork, these guys came to our house and did a great job every time. If my mower ever breaks again or I just get lazy I m definitely calling these guys to help me out. 100% would recommend!

Unfortunately these guys are very difficult to deal with and dont do what they promise. What they did actually do was done well. However there were several key points that they didnt complete and when contacted they would ask for pictures. I would provide -- they would then say they would take care of it -- and it never happened. I repeated this step several times. On top of everything, there crew drove all over my neighbors yard, ruining portions of his grass and breaking a sprinkler head. They actually sort of fixed that. Other work remains undone and Im tired of dealing with these people so Im done with it. Its not worth my time. I wouldnt even pay these guys to mow my lawn in the future.

JCs landscaping inherited my account from another company and I was VERY impressed with their service. They were here on time and the yard looked great but the best thing was they did NOT load my pool up with grass from the weed eater -- thank you JC Landscaping.

Needed someone to make irrigation repairs, install landscaping and takeover weekly maintenance while we listed our home as part of a job relocation. They did a great job with all services and were extremely responsive to emails anytime we had a new request or questions. We would continue to use them if we weren t moving to another city.

Exceptional quality and speed. We were in need of sod but were clueless about types and install. JCs gave us great information, a full breakdown of the different varieties and suggestions on what would work best for our yard. Once we ordered they were out right away! Lightening fast. When we realized we were short by 1 pallet, JCs scheduled another pallet to be our within 48 hours. Awesome service.

Inexpensive, yes - but not worth the uneven service The mowers rush through the lawn service with one of the workers pushing two hand mowers at the same time and leaving thin seams of uncut grass between the mowers. One week they skipped doing my back yard and the owner promised to take ten dollars off the bill, but after three months I had to email them again before they took the money off. They broke two sprinkler heads and didnt tell me and, because my sprinkler goes off before dawn, it took a week to discover the problem. I have two properties and we started the season with mowing every other week, but they still charged me for the full months and refused to adjust even though I had security camera footage to show they never came. Their emails are polite when I advised them of the issues, but the follow-through on their promise is non-existent. They will also mow in heavy rain - or as the owner said to me in an email in a monsoon. Pay a few bucks more with someone else if you like your lawn looking its best.

I have used JCs Landscaping in the past for projects that are too big for my husband and I to handle. This project was coordinated over the internet and worked out great. We had a slab of concrete removed by our pool. The crew had to remove part of the fence but the slab was removed and fence was put back together perfectly. The schedule was a little off due to the weather. At the next available time, they came back and finished the job by spreading new dirt. The crew cleaned up and hoses down the areas and driveway. Very professional. I will call on them again in the future.

Jc landscaping has been servicing our yard for over 8 years, at 2 different homes. They are a very reliable service, excellent for communication and always able to offer options to suit our needs. Reasonable regular mowing services. They also offer a wide variety of landscaping services which we have used. I continue to highly recommend jc landscaping for their service.

I was a customer of JCs Landscaping for more than a year and they provided good service for 8 of those months. Recently though, and the reason I decided to cancel my service with JCs Landscaping, was that the quality of service quickly degraded. I would plant new trees, creeping ground cover, and these things, even though I went through the trouble of marking the areas with LARGE COLORED GARSENING STAKES! And they mowed over a foot high new tree that had been in the yard for 4 months and they had been mowing around for months. They just misse right over it. The management never reached out to me, left a message, or emailed me back about this. I called and posted about this on their website but there was no response. I like many home owners, also have existing trees. The weed eaters used by JCs Landscaping are big metal blades. They almost cut down one of my 1 year old trees! I had to put a small metal gardening fence around the base of the tree along with some cinder blocks to keep them from killing it completely. There is still a huge chunk taken out from near the base of this tree. I reported this to the management as well and I have received no response. I could go on and on about the damage to my fence caused by the large riding lawn mower that they now use instead of push mowers. They switched to using a large riding mower instead of push mowers and it causes large ruts in the yard. And they will mow after a rain and leave deep lines in the yard. I would really be carful and watch the work this crew does if you are a current customer, the quality has changed over the past year or so. More importantly the lack of communication, the lack of customer service, and non-existent reaction to issues I have had - and that is no way to do business. At least leave me a message and admit when mistakes are made instead of ignoring customers with issues.

These guys came out yesterday, put their heads down and pulled their sleeves up and did a fantastic job on our lawn. And it was a mess!!! I am so glad we picked them out of many, many, lawn service providers. Ive contracted with them for monthly services and will for weekly services when the season requires it. Totally satisfied with the service, the speed at which they performed and the personalities that did the work. First class all the way!!!!

JCs Landscaping handles my week to week garden maintenance. I recently had them landscape my backyard, removing shrubs and crepe Myrtle trees that I had. 25 stumps had to be ground down and then covered in decomposed granite and stone slabs. The guys took the time to level everything out, made sure it was stable enough for my kids to run on and even cleaned up afterwards. Great price, wonderful work and with no problems at all.
