Waste of money. They dont kill weeds. They came out to my yard AFTER I canceled service, without any prior notification or advance notice,only informed me after service was done. After I called to tell them I canceled, dont charge me,they charged me! Now waiting 7 to 10 days for refund. Jagbags.

TruGreen partakes in empty promises and scammers. For example, Sales Person Craig Lee promised me results on my lawn and that if any issues arose he would take care of it by giving me his Cell #. Well guess what, he never responded. Recently, I had an unsolicited phone call from Amari that identified himself from the Plainfield, IL office. He told me I had all types of issues with my landscaping and told me he could get my grass back to healthy and was sorry for my troubles with Craig Lee. Turns out, he was also a scammer looking to only sell me bug treatment. When I turned his sales pitch down, he stopped responding to my requests about the lawn. People need to be aware this is a sales driven company only and customer service is almost non existent. Empty promises are made in order to make money. Truly sickening. This company is not recommended by me.

Avoid this place at all cost. Tried to set up for service for the first time. Someone was suppose to come out after 4 pm. Apparently when you speak to someone over the phone they dont communicate with their drivers. They show up whenever they want. Then you call custome service and explain. They make a note. Reschedule you for a Friday. After 4pm. Then nobody shows up whatsoever. Monday comes around and it sends a text. Hey someone is on their way to your house. Mind you. This is 9am in the morning. So I call in again and speak to a rep.ok we will send messages to the driver to come back after 4pm. OK great. The driver even sends me a message stating the same information. I get home at 330. Text the driver Im now home if you want to come a little early. No response. 4pm goes by. Then 5pm. So I call in and the lady tells me. Oh he was done with his route early today? I say how? If Im the last stop at 4pm. He didnt finish his route. This place shouldnt even exist. Probably the worst lawn care service Ive ever felt with. EVEN IF THEY OFFERED FREE SERVICE I wouldnt take it. They dont know how to follow kindergarten directions. How do you service people from 10am to 3pm? Who works those hours????? Absolute trash!

I used them for 10 years and decided their prices were getting way too high. I called to cancel and they told me they could lower the treatments by almost $15.00 and would give me a credit. Never received any credits. Called several times and they said they would credit my account. Nope. They continued to charge my credit card. This is Fraud. Im going to report them to the BBB. Awful company

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! My lawn went from looking amazing to looking the worst in the neighborhood last year! Over fertilizing killed most of the grass. Multiple complaints with pics as proof and no resolution, so I cancelled. Now I get multiple calls a day to sign up again with them. These guys are relentless. Even free services if I leave a positive review for them. STAY AWAY, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

I needed to speak to my local office. We cannot get anyone local to return our calls except someone on the other side of the world who promised a call back within 2 days. My service was canceled without our knowledge. Meanwhile our lawn is looking sparse and weeds are growing. We would have added aeration too.

I was very happy with the application that Mike E did today. Even though it was raining, he took his time and made sure to work around all the landscaping, and made sure that both gates were closed. Looking forward to a healthy Green Lawn again this year!

Service did not work. They did not cancel my account and ended up getting billed for the 2022 season, and then they had the audacity to try and bill me again and have service come out. When they would come out nmand spray they would be here less talhan 5 minutes, walk around 1/2 the yard and charge me $180. I called again this year before they can send someone out and cancel but yet again they called and left me a message with a reminder that service was being sent next day. I called again and canceled service. I feel I need to take them to small claims and get me $1000 bucks or so for the 2022 season that they billed to my account. Do not use them, waste of money and an even more pain in the butt to try and cancel. Even when you did not approve them to bill you outside of the first year.

They came to my house and were only there for 5 minutes. Sprayed something on the yard and left. Called them again to get better service and got the same results. These guys do not take any pride in their work. Never contracting again.

I will NEVER use this company AGAIN! If these reviews here don t help you make a decision on who to go with for lawn care. Then I don t know what will. They are far from their slogan of being #1 lawn care . Maybe somewhere else, but not here.

Ive noticed a nice improvement since the service, but I would like a lawn tech to re-apply the weed and crabgrass killer as there are still several weeds and areas of crabgrass/Creeping Charlie in the lawn that appears to have been missed.

I didnt even ask them to spray my lawn as I absolutely hate the use of synethic pesticides knowing the real harm of them. Disgusted that they had an extreme lack of oversight and mistakenly sprayed my lawn without my approval or even marking the lawn marker that they used so whoever did it isnt going to be held accountable. I called to ask about what toxic chemicals were sprayed about it was told they couldnt even pronounce the names of the toxic chemical that they used with the fertilizer so I was given inaccurate information on top of them spraying my lawn unknowingly without my approval. AND they sprayed all over gardening/yard equipment we had in the yard, as well as our chives that I now dont even want to harvest since they are covered in toxic pesticide. I am livid about this particularly. I am truly upset as now my family and I (have a 2-1/2 year old son) must be exposed to these carcinogenic toxic chemicals. Do yourself a favor and dont use any of these companies they are using chemicals that are destroying eco-systems and our bodies.

Went and paid for aeration and weed fertailzation, front, side and back of house. Person only spayed front of house, never did side or back. When calling to complain, first operator in Caribbean, called local 815 number was given someone in Indiana.

While I generally refrain from leaving negative reviews, my experience with TruGreen was unfortunately quite disappointing. Their customer service left much to be desired, with frequent rescheduling of my service that disrupted my plans. Moreover, the lack of expertise displayed by their technicians resulted in significant damage to my lawn.

The experience can not be worse. We just moved to the area and we are first time homeowner, we simply asked to have a technician come and show us how to set the irrigation system. Called Monday, agent promise send tech ASAP latest end of the week, however no one shows up all week, when I call back agent told me it was schedule for following week, but no one update us on the date and time. When technician finally came, he did not even bother to let us he is here, we just received a text message saying tech finished their work. But our irrigation system is still off, no one explained to us how to use it, and we still don t know what did the tech do when he is here, and we are also charged for the visit. The whole experience can not be worse.

I have been a customer at my Plainfield home for more than 19 years. My lawn, trees and bushes always receive compliments on how nice and green they are. I have been told repeatedly that my grass looks so thick. This is my second home with TruGreen . I also had them treat my previous home for 12 years in Downers Grove. I always count on them in the winter for the salt so that my concrete driveway and sidewalks are not damage. Thank you Trugreen.

I find that having TruGreen as my lawn service my lawn has greatly improved since starting the service a few years ago. Weds and unwanted grasses are virtually nonexistent.

I have had ONLY one mosquito bite from my yard all spring/summer. Without this mosquito-defense service, I would be eaten alive in my yard! I highly recommend! Our technician is super friendly and knowledgeable, too!

I wanted to get rid of these guys last year after they gouged our yard in numerous spots with the aerator. But they came out and attempted to fix it so we kept them. But since then everything has gone down hill. We have large bare spots, tons of weeds, and crab grass. They came by today to aerate again and its the same problem as last time! They charge you $250 to tear up your lawn. Its awful! Save your money and go with someone else. I didnt pay $680 a year for crab grass, bare spots, weeds, and gouges.

Please do not use TruGreen. They are very rude. Their customer service is horrible. I literally just got off the phone with the account managment office and he was completely rude! How do you call a customer and already rude? He would ask a question about why the cancellation and wouldn t let me finish my sentence before jumping in and interrupting. He was very short and was not listening! The lack of unprofessionalism that was displayed to me has me very relieved that I requested for cancellation. I have read that Brightview is better so i am going to go that route but definitely do research before choosing TruGreen. Im positive they re other companies that do the same but treat their customers a lot better. My suggestion would be continuous training on customer service and effective communication because one employee can make a difference whether your customers stay, leaves or refer you.

I like the fact that I have my dedicated lawn and tree/shrub technicians that handle my property who are familiar with the lawn issues as well as my tree/shrubs. Once a relationship is established, you want to continue that vs just having show up who doesnt have a clue whats going on with the property their treating. Without a dedicated team servicing my property, i would need to seek out a different service provider. I have been a long-term customer for 47 yrs. (28 in Naperville; 19 yrs in Bartlett when their were ChemLawn)

We have had TruGreen for two years. They have never been able to get rid of the weeds. Parts of my yard are absolutely full of weeds. I actually had to go to the hardware store and buy my own weed killer to spread in the yard. If you call them, you can only get a national customer service number. You cannot call your local branch. You cant get someone to come out to your home so that you can discuss the problem and show them the problem areas. Very unhappy with this service.

So far very impressed with the service people who seem to actually care about doing a thorough, quality job instead of rushing like the other companies Ive used in the past.

I am a new customer with TruGreen this year. My old lawn service was a private small company I retained for 30 years. They retired, and I had to find a replacement. I evaluated many companies and decided to give TruGreen a try for this year. I prepaid for 8 services. To date, 5 services have been completed. All 5 services except one have been completed by Ryan Shimp. So far, I am pleased with the products, results, and the attention to detail exhibited by Ryan. Ryan continues to engage me for feedback, is pleasant to talk to, truly knowledgeable, and overall, very professional. Looking forward to establishing a longer relationship with Ryan and TruGreen.

Very unhappy with TruGreen Lawn Care. Jerry Martinez was the sales representative that I spoke with. Upon review of the sales agreement I noticed that their yard square footage was 3/4 less than what it actually was. So I brought it to Jerrys attention and he said he was using a different address by mistake, but would honor the quoted price and service my the lawn. So, I paid up front for the service to find out they were only servicing 1/4 of my yard. Absolutely furious, I contacted customer service who recommended I pay an additional amount to cover my entire yard, even though there were notes that had the correct yard area, but the service agreement didnt. I ended up having to get a full refund because TruGeen would not honor their agreement. NOTE, IF YOU USE TRUGEEN, PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE INFORMATION IS CORRECT AND YOURE NOT JUST GETTING LIP SERVICE FROM SOMEONE JUST TRYING TO MAKE A SALE!

Lots of dandelions after 2 treatments. Not really interested in dealing with call centers, foreign or domestic.

extremely unreliable and poor service since 2021. I used Trugreen in the past and was content with them but since last year Ive had to call multiple times and spend 30 plus minutes each time on the phone with TruGreens customer service reps after the scheduled service date goes by and NO ONE SHOWS UP. THEY HAVE NO SHOWED ME MULTIPLE TIMES, as in more than 5 times in the last 2 years alone. Usually by the 3rd attempt after they fail to show up, someone finally shows up to service my lawn and by that time 6 weeks have gone by and my lawn suffers because treatments are not happening at regular intervals as they should be. I never get to see the desired results. Really frustrated by now and not sure if or when this issue will ever be resolved.

Too much push and try even scam when you cancel your service

You cannot speak to a live person at this office. I requested a call from the manager and was told that when he is out in the field, he is not reachable. The person took a message, promised hed call within 24 hours. No call at all. Apparently TruGreen has not heard of this new technology called cell phones.

Why cant this company keep their chemicals on the grass and off the sidewalk where people walk with their kids and pets? I have seen them spread fertilizer on the sidewalk, not even trying to keep it contained to the grass when transitioning from the parkway to the front lawn and there is no clean up afterwards. When I choose to fertilize, I use an edge guard spreader and what little makes it on to the sidewalk gets courteously swept away. I dislike the fact if I want to walk in my neighborhood I have to zig-zag around to keep from tracking poisonous chemicals into my house. Unfortunately, they are also not the only lawn treatment company which uses this lazy practice, they are all identified by their calling card signs left on the properties. The sign in the yard reads stay off grass, which I do but these companies need to keep their chemicals to the grass and not the sidewalks. I would also hate to be paying for this waste of materials.

I been with trugreen for years and had problems every year. Now they told me that they are only doing have my property but still charging me they same. This is total wrong. Corporate says they dont no why they did this. Plainfield trugreen is the worst.

They added a service and billed me without asking. I didn t have grub service last year they just assumed I wanted it this year. Not a good way to treat a repeat loyal customer.

Very poor business ethics! I cancelled the service last year. Guess what they started the service this year without my acknowledgements and when I call them, they want me to pay for services. I dont mind paying for the services, but when you cancel, it should have been cancelled. When you cancel, make sure to them the you want to cancel indefinitely. Update: I got a call from cooperate office and they listened to me and agreed that when I cancelled they should have cancelled indefinitely, instead of just for the year.

Always a nice experience. Ive tried all the other big-name lawn care companies and theres always an issue with something and they never want to take care of it. Our grass has never looked better. Any problems and TruGreen always takes care of it. Very happy. This is our 2nd year with them.

Very disappointed in the service from trugreen. i was sold the service with high urgency and promises but this company is clearly over committed and under staffed. Its near impossible to get service scheduled, get it on the date that shows up on the app. No-one reaches out or stays in touch about changes.

Got hung up on for asking for more information on why they wanted to do 7 different services when I just need 2-3. They want nothing but your money.

Made appointment for $200 aeration & is a no show. Made another appointment & is a no show. Now, they want to do it next season. I asked for a refund!

Their call center is highly unprofessional and rude. They have no interest in retaining customers.

Never visit it

My lawn is full of crab grass. Everytime I call I get a different song and dance about what needs to be done. Service gets scheduled and then no one shows. I call and then am told it was canceled. By who? Not me, they cant give me a straight answer ....when i complain they try to reachedule and the guy comes out, spends 10 minutes power walking with a sprayer and done. Only about 10% of the weeds die. When I call back, another song and dance. Additional appointments are scheduled, again no one shows. Told the last agent i wanted to cancel and demanded a refund, he hung up on me!

I have been trying to get them to come back out for a re-treatment for weeds for over a month. At this point I m due for my next feeding. Every week I get the song and dance on their live chat whenever I try to get someone out for treatment. They say they ll be out in the next few days and it never happens. I have spoken to two different call center associates this week and nothing has been resolved. I tried to cancel and instead I was told that within 24 hours I would get a call back from a service manager. It s been 48 with no phone call. If you try to call this office it automatically goes to their main line call center. Doesn t matter what time of day you call. This company has by far the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.
