Steel City landscape built a large patio to the front of our house with brick pavers. The work was high quality and exceeded our expectations. After installation they redid the landscaping of our front slope where they had to get some heavy machines through. The owner took all our questions and was great to work with and the cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend!

Absolutely cannot recommend Jordan and Steel City Landscaping enough! I ve used them for multiple projects (including a full lawn installation) for the last few years and all have been executed extremely well and my landscaping is honestly fantastic. Jordan is consultative and responsive, happy to come up with ideas and offer suggestions. He s also always on-site at some point (or multiple points) during each project. Carol in the office is responsive and communicative and very easy to work with. The crew is neat, efficient, and meticulous with their work.

Steel City did a great job on our backyard last year, and the improvements continue to work as planned almost a year later. We were having issues with an old retaining wall, drainage issues, constant runoff/debris in our yard from a hillside, as well as the need to reset a small fire pit patio that was holding water. Jordan came in made some recommendations and I can say they all worked as described while creating a backyard paradise. The team is tremendous and very particular to make sure you get exactly what you want. They put in a new retaining wall, and suggested replacing the steep hillside mulch areas with large limestone to contain the runoff, as well as accenting our pool area with the limestone to tie it all together. We were able to do a mix of mulch in some spots and they no longer run off either. Every suggestion works great and the water now flows to the drains and to the street, eliminating the mess after heavy storms. The fire pit areas no longer holds water after rain. They also reclaimed some areas lost to weeds, adjacent to some woods, with a no mow fescue area, which the dog now uses as its own. The latter means less clean up after the dog as well! We spend a lot of time in our yard and often entertain others who all notice how well the work was done and how the wall color and limestone ties in the existing hardscape in the yard. We are extremely happy and highly recommend Jordan and the team.

Extremely happy with the work they did on our front bank. It was completely overgrown and they tore out everything that was there previously. Designed a portion in front of our house with river rock containing an assortment of low maintenance plants. They sowed grass seed throughout the rest of the bank. Jordan was very responsive during the process and his team was hard working and thorough. Would use again and definitely recommend.

If we had the option I would give a score of 2.5 overall as our overall experience was a mix of good and not so good. We hired Steel City Landscaping in the Fall of 2022 to redo our entire front landscaping and to continue to maintain it. They came out and did the work which turned out nice. The design was nice (not perfect) but overall it turned out nice. The guys were able to do the work in one full day. They then came out and touched up some things this spring for us with new mulch and trimming. However when we contacted the Jordan, the owner of the company, to come out this fall to for normal maintenance for the plants and trimming he informed me that they wont come out for jobs less than $2000. He told me via text message to find someone else for that type of work which left us holding the bag finding someone else. When we originally contacted Steel City Landscaping we told them that we were looking for a company not only the initial work but to maintain it as well after the initial install and now they completely changed their story. Since then we contacted several other landscape companies and nobody seems interested in working on someone elses work. Follow up texts to the owner (Jordan) went unanswered which is very disappointing. We would have not gone with Steel City Landscaping had we known they would not maintain it and we feel that the owner withheld this from us intentionally to get the job. We never leave these type of reviews especially on Google but I wanted to share our experiences so that another potential customer doesnt find themselves in the same situation.

Our experience with Steel City Landscaping started out great, but then went downhill over time due to a series of unfulfilled promises, poor communication, and low quality work. They are obviously a high volume cookie-cutter shop, and that is probably fine for many people, but in our case, really did not work out. Their on site teams were very nice, but communication between those teams and the main office was quite poor. This resulted in them destroying my daughters carefully cultivated lavender plants in her own garden, which we had made very clear was not to be included in the landscape maintenance service. We also had issues with incomplete removal of old unwanted invasive bulbs as part of a major landscaping project, and then not fulfilling promises Jordan made to remove them in the spring. Also, most of the perennials that they installed for us last spring, died over the winter, despite them being under contract to care for everything and despite them having recommended or approved the selection of the plants. If you dont really care about the specifics of your yard but just want it kept tidy, these folks are probably fine. But if you have specific requirements, like not trimming trees back to aggressively, or avoiding a personal garden, you should know that they probably wont actually honor those requests unless you personally go outside and supervise their crew every time they come over.

Called to check out how long it would be to have someone come to cut my grass. It wasnt going to be until sometime June. Not good I got family to come over next week to do it I will pay him . It is almost 12 inches. high but it will get done soon. And look really good. Thanks Matt.

I love how some of the staff are knowledgeable about the care of so many foliages. Most of the crew are extremely efficient and Roman always goes the extra mile to put quality into his work. My yard looks great and I dont have to worry about a thing.

We had Steel City out to clear an overgrown area of our yard at our new home that was full of poison ivy and Virginia Creeper and to mulch our landscape beds. The team was awesome! They did a great job! They were professional and friendly and smiled the entire day! The owner even came out to help strategize the clearing job when the team encountered an issue with vines that grew high up into some trees. I will certainly be a repeat customer! Highly recommend.

The best of the best...

Steel City built a new retaining wall with a new off street parking spot for us; something we had wanted for years. They responded to my request for a bid within days and then modified for changes I requested over night, They even provided drawings without being asked. They started the job and finished within the promised time frame and the workmanship is excellent. They also took care of contacting the gas and water companies to ensure no utility lines were damaged. Very, very pleased! Steel City has our highest recommendations. Now, what project do I want them to do next????

Love love love our landscaping! This is a project we have wanted to do for over a year and the final product looks even better than I could have imagined. We actually had to delay the project a year, but they kept everything on file and honored the same quote except for some minor labor changes so we didn t have to restart from scratch. I don t have an eye for this and Jordan came up with a concept that looks beautiful with our home. I also appreciated that he took into consideration plants that would need a lot of tending and less likely to be eaten by deer. He answered all my questions and explained why he was using specific plants/ materials. His team worked with our existing landscape and pipes/drains to make the concept look seamless. The guys were slightly delayed bc of weather, but communicated all changes and the crew was fast and efficient. They completed the entire project for the full front and side of our house from year out to clean up in 3 days. It completely transforms the front of our house and I am so happy with the results! Highly recommend!

Recently I had a large old hemlock hedge and pine tree removed and replaced with arborvitae as well as lilacs transplanted. They did a fantastic job. Worked for three days in rain and mud. Arrived on time and cleaned up perfectly for a reasonable price. Great landscaper.

Steel City completed an entire yard overhaul for us including excavating into our backyard hill to give us more usable yard space, building a new retaining wall, installing a french drain, and redoing all of our garden beds with fresh plants, river rock, and mulch. We could not be more pleased with the outcome! While Steel City was not the cheapest quote we received, the value was absolutely there, and we feel like we definitely got our moneys worth. Our project manager, Josh, was extremely responsive and easy to work with, which is a rare find in comparison to all of the contractors we have worked with over the years. The crew including Martine, Manuel, Carlos, and Frank were all extremely professional and pleasant to work with. We especially appreciated that any mess or sidewalk repairs needed from the machinery were cleaned and repaired before the project was completed. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for hardscaping or landscaping, and would work with them again without hesitation!

We purchased a property with a challenging piece of landscape to say the least & one of our only concerns about purchasing the property was how to maintain the landscaping. Hired Steel City to remove an old brick patio and retaining wall, to be replaced with lawn and natural stone wall. Also installed front lawn where a grove of trees used to stand. Jordan and his crew did a superb job. Part of the work was covered by insurance as storm damage, and Jordan worked to make the insurance process painless. Highly recommended. We now have the yard of our dreams.

The workers blew dirt and mulch all over my carwith their leaf blowers at the office complex that I work at several times. Left messages with their office and never received a call back.

I hired Steel City Landscaping last fall to restore my backyard as a result of a backhoe digging up the yard to repair a water line. They arranged to come out this spring to start the process. The restoration required that the filled ground and rocks be leveled off. Then apply topsoil, seed, fertilizer, and coat with mushroom manure. They came out on time as scheduled and were both knowledgeable and extremely helpful with all my concerns. The workers on site went above and beyond to not only restore the areas hard hit by the backhoe but also leveled off the majority of the yard so that when the grass grew in, it would appear even. They took their time to do the work and thoroughly cleaned up everywhere so that there would be no trace of any materials used. They also gave me instructions as to properly care for my new lawn and when to expect new grass to start growing. I was extremely pleased with my installation and plan to use them for all my future landscaping projects.

I ordered the triple shredded mulch and my beds look amazing. They responded promptly, nice crew, did an awesome mulch job and well priced. I will never DIY much again. I now can enjoy the spring. I would highly recommend them. Thank you Steel City.

Since they did such a nice job we reached out again for them to grade a very difficult spot in my yard where they mixed in dirt, took into account drainage, seeded, and straw blanketed the area. I was blown away by how the team showed up on time, worked tirelessly and completed the job in 1 day! Steel City Landscaping has cut my grass and gathered my leaves for over three years. My yard is challenging, with a steep front hill leading up to the road, and a low, flat area in the rear that can get muddy at times. SCL has managed the yard well, getting at the tough spots and leaving no tracks in wet areas. We have trees on all sides producing huge amounts of leaves, which always made fall a hassle--until the SCL crew took care of it for me. Now I can enjoy fall colors without dreading what follows!! Happy to endorse their work to all!

To make it up, Steel City gave us a 10% discount - the work was completed quickly and looks AMAZING. They followed up after installation for any questions and to see how we liked the work. I was looking for a reasonably priced landscaping company to come in and update to a modern design. Needless to say, Steel City has made that process super easy! I hired Steel City Landscape to rebuild my retaining walls and give my landscaping a facelift. The whole process was extremely easy for them. The crew was professional and completed the job in a timely manner. I am super pleased with the work and I highly recommend their services.

We recently had a pool installed. The pool people pretty much screwed up everything imaginable. They were supposed to do a final grade in the yard but left us holding the bag so to speak. We got estimates to do the work and although SC was not the lowest, we felt more comfortable with their competence and game plan for restoring our yard. It was a great decision. the difference in cost was negligible. They completely restored our yard. They took it to a new final grade, seeded and installed a sprinkler system to ensure proper watering. The yard is coming in great! We had some issue with bare spots and reported them to the owner. Within a week, he sent a crew out to re-seed the areas (no questions asked). We received great service and I would not hesitate to use them again.

The grass and mulch beds are terrible. Little to no topsoil put down and so much crabgrass and weeds have grown in newly installed yards in our neighbor hood. We had to do so much work to get grass to grow. A lot of rocks were left in the topsoil and mulch beds. When you move the mulch aside and try to plant flowers, the soil is like concrete and needs to be replaced if you plant anything. Very disappointed in their work.

I contracted Steel City Landscape to build a retaining wall and patio. I was very happy with the quality of work and overall professionalism employed by the entire staff. My home sits atop a steep hill which would ve been a potential issue with another contractor but Steel City circumvented the problem creatively and effectively. During the course of the project I decided I wanted to expand my patio, this expansion was a pivot in the job but was handled effortless. Despite the additional work Steel City completed the project ahead of schedule. I would strongly recommend Steel City for any landscape or Hardscape needs. You WILL be satisfied.

A great first experience... The estimator was up front with us about when the job would fit into their schedule without any back and forth. Once they said they would come, they showed up on time each morning until the work was done. The final outcome was great. They definitely left the job neat and complete to my expectations and I felt the price was fair in comparison to other companies I have used.

I like that the same team comes each time to mow, weed, pickup debris, and blow walkways, patios, deck, and driveway free of trimmings. Even the cleanliness of their trucks displays the pride they take in the services they offer. I m especially impressed with their efforts in eco friendly practices including propane powered mowers, their use of natural products for weed control, and their application of soil enhancers instead of topical chemical fertilizers. This was our second dealing with Steel City Landscape. The first was for a French drain installation in our yard while the second was for landscaping. In both instances we were very pleased with the not only the work performed but with the ease of working with this contractor. Prior to commencing, contractor visited the site where the work was to be performed and later followed up with a call to see if we were satisfied with the work. We will certainly be calling them for any future work that needs to be done.

Red and his crew did a great job for us. I needed 7 very large bushes pulled and a hillside of nasty overgrowth cleared. They took everything out, covered the hillside with river rock and mulch and did a great job trimming and making the whole site look like new! Definitely recommend.

My yard was a mess after a couple of years of neglect. Steel City came in and killed the weeds with a natural, vinegar-based formula (HUGE plus), trimmed hedges and shrubbery, mulched and brought my landscape back to an aesthetic, serene escape. Firstly I would like to say I would absolutely use this company again for future projects. The only reason not 5 stars is the job didnt start until roughly twice the estimated period (of 4-5 weeks). During this time the company didnt reach out to me to keep me updated on changes to the estimated time-frame, I had to reach out to them. For those who have dealt with unreliable contractors previously this concern should sound familiar. But when the date was set, the crew arrived, worked fast, hard, were friendly, and got the job done beautifully and efficiently. The company reached out afterwards to confirm my satisfaction with the work. Again, no hesitancy on my end to use them again in the future.

We started using Steel City Landscapes mowing services in the spring of 2016 and we were delighted with the dependable, professional outstanding quality work delivered by the team. In the fall we used the fall/leave clean up program and again were thrilled with the work. We have a very large tree in our back yard that covers our lawn in leaves and the program we enrolled in was well worth the cost. We have been using Steel City Landscape, Inc. for several years now for our normal lawn maintenance, but have also engaged them in several other projects as well that have left us extremely happy with their work. I should start by saying Im a REALLY particular person. I like things just the way I like them. Steel City Landscaping knocked it out the park. I cant recommend them enough. We used them previously at my old house, and the work there was great too. At the new place, they built a beautiful wall, removed big, ugly shrubs, added all sorts of low maintenance (my request) shrubs, and put down mulch and rock. Mark, the owner, provided really great ideas. He even recommended using a lot of what I already had by moving it around. Im pretty sure that saved me at least a few hundred dollars. Shaun was the project manager who was at my house off an on for several days. He was fantastic to work with. He was responsive, helpful, friendly, nice to the crew (important to me!), and made sure things were just right. I looked out the window, and he and the guys were moving tiny individual river rocks to make sure it looked just right. I dont usually write reviews, but I cant say enough about this operation. I engaged Steel City Landscaping under the recommendation of a family member who had highly endorsed them. My experience thus far has been beyond expectations. Ive been a customer in various aspects for over 3 years. At first I used them for routine lawn maintenance. I found their rates very competitive, and their service was very good. I believe you can really tell how good a company is by how they deal with resolving any issues. My appreciation for the company grew during the second year of the service when one of the treatments which was applied caused a few minor brown spots in my yard. I called the offices and they immediately sent a team to my home to reseed the areas at no cost to myself and without any questions asked. My idea of the project was very vague, and Mark and his team worked with me as I added and made modifications to the project during the re grading and landscaping of my back yard. They brought in a bob cat to make the yard completely flat, they installed brick steps to connect to the existing set, and they also installed a small retaining wall on the lower end of the yard. They then proceeded to reseed the yard and continue to treat the new lawn. The result was an unbelievable job - at a very reasonable price - and a flat backyard which my children now enjoy playing on throughout the summer. Id recommend the team at Steel City to anybody.

The landscapers work non-stop, even on super hot days and we have been really pleased with how they have improved our yards appearance. They have installed a retaining wall, removed our old overgrown landscaping, and replaced it all with new plants and shrubs.

The crew from Steel City recently completed a very large driveway project at my house to replace the crumbling concrete weve been living with for nearly 10 years. We have used other services in the past but started with Steel City in Spring 2014. Their spring cleanup was by far the best of any service that we have used. There was a lot of attention to details such as edging and the planting beds. We have continued to use them for grass cutting and for the fall clean up and again have been very pleased. We used Steel City Landscape for regular grass cutting service all of last summer. They did a great job, came regularly and left things tidy. We also used them to weed our flower beds. We just bought the house last summer and the beds were overrun with weeds. They made fast work of it, especially considering how bad they were. This year we have them scheduled to clean out all of the beds and put down mulch. Im looking forward to seeing everything neat and clean. It feels like they have a big enough crew that they can respond pretty quickly in spite of weather issues.

They showed up on time, were consummate professionals, and the grass they put in came in beautifully! Steel City Landscape has done a number of hardscape and landscape jobs for us from retaining walls to removal of shrubs. They have always been punctual, professional, and dependable. Although they tend to be expensive, you get what you pay for. a top quality job.

Five stars. I had a 20x40 foot poured concrete patio replaced with pavers. The Steel City Landscape crew completed with top notch performance. Besides the patio looking fantastic, I have a couple extras to mention. My back yard is fenced for my dogs which they needed to remove a section to access the patio. Every night before the crew left they replaced the chain link so I didn t have to worry. Any time there were questions on my preference, I was promptly called. Lastly when all was done, the side of the road where they parked each day was cleaned up and groomed back to original state. Well done - highly recommend.

I have a 97 y/o brick walk up with a stone foundation. In the past I have had to reseal the basement walls multiple times to keep the humidity relatively low. With the heavy rains this summer and cracks beginning to form in the wall again the basement was again flooded. Mark from Steel City Landscaping gave us great advice and told us how landscaping could not only solve our drainage issues but we were able to also create more outdoor living space by taking down the slope in our back yard. They did a poor job on my French drain. The water does not run out the exit hole, it runs back and has flooded my yard. They kept giving me the run around and never fixed the issue. Beware if you ever hire them. Terrible work.
