Ive been meaning to write this review for a while. We had hired another company to do landscaping and hardscaping for us, and long story short, that company had made a *mess* of it (like, the entire patio were crooked and the front porch doubled as a swimming pool...). Trying to find another company to fix it was next to impossible, but Kimicata Brothers came to the rescue! In addition to fixing everything, the team was punctual and professional. Brian was responsive and a pleasure to work with, keeping in mind our desire not to double our original budget, but with realistic options to fix things properly. Its been a year, and we are so, so happy with the work they did! Thank you, Brian! You and your team were phenomenal.

If youre west of Pittsburgh, do not bother.

We had Kimicata Brothers install an irrigation to our property this summer. It was complicated as all the plantings : trees, shrubs, ground covers, perennials were all new .. along with the existing grass. Jocelyn Kimicata came out from the start... carefully surveyed the property . She came up with a solid plan. The team came out a few weeks later to begin work. The entire team at Kimicata Bros did a stellar job. At one point there seemed to be an issue with one of the soaker hoses. Jocelyn stopped by and pointed out it was a small animal that had taken a bite ... It was taken care of immediately. I highly recommend this company.

We were very happy with their work on our retaining wall. This seemed to be a difficult project based on access and proximity to our neighbors trees. The wall looks great, they were quick and professional. Brian was very easy to work with, explained everything thoroughly, and was quick to respond to questions. We are very relieved to have this project taken care of smoothly.

I would highly recommend Kimicata Brothers Inc. They too such care and were very detailed with the installation of our irrigation system. Everyone was highly professional and they were always here on time and very responsive with any questions I had. I couldn t be more satisfied!

Quick service and excellent work.

Kimicata Brothers installed a retaining wall for us. They did a great job, especially with managing the significant slope on our property. They explained the process as it unfolded and the work was high quality.

While the company has a long track record with beautiful work for my family, the most recent interaction with the owner left something to be desired. My family has worked with Kimicata Brothers for many years, referring them to neighbors, friends, and other family members. They do beautiful work. When a family member had a patio project completed by a different company, Mr. Kimicata approached this person quite confrontationally. He recommended that my family take ALL of their business elsewhere, indicating he no longer wanted to provide the continuous services his company had provided for many years. I was so disappointed that after many years of a professional relationship and an appreciation of the work they do, that my family was treated so poorly. I will be following Mr. Kimicata s recommendation, and also referring new business elsewhere.

1 star because your employees drove recklessly fast through my neighborhood. Additionally, my wife asked one of your employees if you repaired retaining walls, and he would not give her a simple yes or no answer, but rather scoffed at her and told her to call the office.

Paul and his team provided complete landscaping services for our West Shadyside home for over 28 years. They totally transformed the front and back of the house including a terrific low maintenance hardscape with pergola and water features in the back yard. They are easy to work with and responsive when problems arise.

Paul found me a site where I could buy planters for my balconies. Then they took down some old rusty attached to the railings metal planters - which was no small job. I had them plant vining red geraniums & they cleaned everything up. Kimicata did a masterful job & I highly recommend the quality of their work.

I have hired Kimicata Brothers several times over the past year to repair and replace irrigation lines and valves, and to plant and transplant shrubs and small trees. Kimicata also winterized and turned off and back on and checked the irrigation system. On each occasion, Jocelyn, working alone or with a crew, found the leaks, repaired them, replaced broken soaker hoses with proper dripline, replaced failing valves, and completed the tasks on time and with excellent results. There are few in Pittsburgh who actually know how to install, repair and manage irrigation systems. I learned this the hard way. Im really glad to have found Kimicata. Jocelyn also provided estimates and advice on improving our lawn which was much appreciated. I am relieved to have Kimicata on hand to manage our front and back lawns and recommend them without hesitation.

Kimicata Brothers did an excellent job on our landscaping and the entire team was incredibly professional, efficient, quick on responding, and timely with the job. They helped us with water issue that came up during some unrelated construction and did an excellent job with that part of the project as well. I would highly recommend them for any landscaping needs and plan to use them going forward for future jobs.

Could not be happier with the wall and stone patio Kimicata put in. Timely, professional, cleaned up everyday. Also kept us in the loop about potential problems with drainage and came up with a solution. Wish i could give more stars.

Extremely rude individuals that end up showing up to work at your house(bearded guy driving the gray Tacoma especially). The work is a C-. Extremely disappointing experience.

We have worked with Kimicata Brothers, Inc. on an annual basis since 2009 and will continue to do so. We have hired them for services ranging from lawn maintenance, installation/maintenance of our in ground irrigation system, hard scaping, landscaping and, to our current project, installation of a wood privacy fence. Paul and his crew are always professional, courteous, on time, patient, helpful, easy to reach and accommodating. We have received many compliments on both the form and function of their work. We highly recommend their services.

Total hacks. Dishonest, poor service and the job done was not completed. We were told things would be included in our spring cleanup and were later billed for items. Incorrect plants that didnt match were planted. We were told that a magical vine was growing or the the nature of the soil was impacting the color. Total garbage excuses for their poor work. Customer service was poor at best. Areas of grass that were seeded never grew due to them not covering it with top soil. We watered 3x a day and had sufficient rain (anyone in pittsburgh could tell you that between may and July we had rain) but were told that it was our fault the grass didnt grow. My advice is to do business with another company that will stand by their work and value customers. They will tell you about how long they have been in business. Do a slow clap for them and an eye roll. You dont drive a car by looking in the mirror and focusing on where youve been. Rather, you keep your eyes fixed on whats to come. Maybe yesteryear this company was good but they currently stink. Pick someone else.

I have used Kimicata on two houses and numerous projects. We first had them do a complete re-landscape on our house on Winebiddle Street. Work was done professionally and on time. Looked great when it went in, and driving by today, many years later, their work has grown out and really makes our old house look great. We then used them to redo the landscaping on our Howe St. home. Again, they did a nice job with plant selection and it gave the home great curb appeal. We kept them on to do regular maintenance on the lawn (cutting, weeding, etc.). Always responsive when I called and the work speaks for itself.

I used Kimicata for 5 years at my house in Squirrel Hill. In addition to doing a great job on the flowers, bushes and trees, they also installed and maintained my sprinkler system. They also did a great job maintaining my waterfall and pond. Recommend them highly.

We have used Paul and his crew from Kimicata Brothers for the last six years they do an amazing job with our yard and are one of the few gardeners who do irrigation work! They are efficient and trustworthy Paul does an exceptional job managing his business and gets his hands dirty working with his people. It is a family business where his daughter works alongside her father. Most of the lawn services in the Shadyside area their equipment looks worn and tired and so do the employees. This is not the case for Kimicata Brothers! I would highly recommend them. Oh by the way they do snow removal during the winter very reliable and on time.

Paul and his crew provide great service - they are very responsive, knowledgeable, and dependable: the most reliable landscapers Ive worked with. I especially appreciate the personalized approach.

The Kimicata Teams who take care of my yard in the summer and the snow in the winter are really friendly and enjoy their job. They are helpful and knowledgeable about landscaping. I like working with Rick, their landscaper, who has helped me create a lovely garden in my backyard with a healthy variety of trees and shrubs. -ML

Kimicata Brothers have been, by far, the best landscapers I ve used. We don t live in a fancy neighborhood but I like our beds to look nice. Paul has been so accommodating when I ve had questions. He s even come to the house on numerous occasions to talk with me about the yard. I greatly appreciate the personalized customer service!
