Repeating the same reality of with other comments. Placed many phone calls that were never returned, last-minute cancelations after reserving time, placed on hold for 20+ minutes when trying to get them to reschedule their missed appointments. It took over 1.5 months for them to still not send out an irrigation technician after they took payment. Still waiting upon my refund. The General Manager for the St. Petersburg office, Joe Albino, is rude, argumentative and condescending. When I tried to cancel after their one visit, he required a 30-day notice email rather than waive it considering they dropped the ball multiple times as a new client. Do yourself a favor and call another company instead.
If I could give a zero rating I would. I put in a whole new front lawn and all new bushes last spring. I hired Massey Landscape Monthly Maintenace spraying service and their quarterly Irrigation Services. It is now August and all my newly planted bushes are dead and my grass, which was beautiful until they started spraying it, now looks awful. I canceled both programs. Dealing with them was a nightmare I would not wish on anyone. Placed many phone calls that were never returned. It took over three weeks for them to send out an irrigation technician after they had already taken my money. The General Manager for the St. Petersburg office, Joe Albino, is rude and impossible to talk to. Do yourself a favor and call another company instead!!
Even though technician had 5 more stops. He took the time to make sure I knew what different types of grass mix I have in my yard. What he is doing to treat the lawn and the steps that I can take if I desire to. Very informative and patient. It was very 🔥 hot that day.
Donterio is the man! Turned my lawn around so quickly. He is like a grass whisperer. He gets down on the ground and inspects the grass where there may be a trouble spot to determine exactly what is happening and how to correct it. It then treats my lawn for what is needed rather than treat it like every other lawn. And I have to add that he is a very friendly worker and will patiently answer any questions/concerns I may have. Wish I would have found him sooner.
Used Massey for a few years. The lawn guy was fantastic! But the irrigation manager and even the general manager ghosted me for the last two weeks and failed to show up to help solve my irrigation problem. My yard has now turned to straw. I fired them today. Would not recommend them unless you want your yard to look like this. Update: Massey's failure to keep their appointments with me resulted in the death of my lawn. It's gone. Once what was the pride of the neighborhood is now the biggest eye sore. I'm embarrassed. Considering putting a sign in my yard "Massey did this!"
Lawn service is abhorrent, customer service is even worse. We’ve been a Massey customer for about 9 months. Over the last 3-4 months they have let the weeds in our yard get completely out of control and one of our trees is sick. I called them out to take a look and was told we would receive weekly service to banish weeds and get the tree healthy (Melissa was the tech). They came once in that month - the weeds are still out of control, the tree died and we have dead spots in the sod. I see from the yard tags Massey has been out servicing our neighbors yards in that time but did not come to us. I’ve been calling for 3 days to cancel our service and Massey continues to pass us off stating Melissa will call back to cancel service. I’ve called THREE TIMES and they refuse to cancel when we call stating we must talk to Melissa first. Finally after threatening to report the charges as fraudulent they returned the call. A waist of time, money and stress.
Their various services are performed well and they seem to use the better materials. My big issue is with scheduling and courtesy. The technicians never, ever show up on time, if they show up at all, and are usually about two hours late. They generally don’t call or apologize. Also, they only know what they’re supposed to do about half of the time. There’s a serious disconnect between the field technicians and their office. There’s also a need for training in basic etiquette and social skills for some.
Our lawn technician Chris has been servicing our lawn for several years now. Chris is always proactive to control things before they get out of hand such as weeds fungus or insects. In doing so it keeps our grass looking deep green and luscious. We greatly appreciate his friendliness and his professionalism. We highly recommend Massey for all your needs.
Horrible for repair service. I pay up front for repairs/upgrades and they just don t show up even though I have an appointment. I have to call them and never get a call back from Joe. Still waiting. Regular quarterly service is good.

My lawn technician, Shaun, has done such a great job for me getting rid of weeds! I swear my backyard turned into more weeds than Saint Augustine grass in the span of about three weeks. I called Massey and they sent Shawn to the rescue. No more weeds! Thank you, Massey!

Worst customer service by far. Office staff are lazy, incompetent and should not be answering the phone ...If the gentleman who sprays my lawn was not so wonderful I would have cancelled the service ..will most likely have to find a better company.

Connor is the tech who keeps our lawn healthy and free of insects. He doesn t have a problem explaining or answering questions that my husband may have about our lawn s care. He s professional, kind, and as a relatively new hire, he has quickly grasped the concepts needed to keep our lawn healthy. Wayne Galloway is the service tech for pest prevention at our residence. He is thorough in cleaning cobwebs and other insects on the surfaces of our home; as well as assuring that traps are set for the errant insects who do manage to invade our premises. He is pleasant, knowledgeable and friendly. We are delighted with all of the service techs who help us keep a beautiful curb appeal outside and insect-free interior. Joe contacted me and provided me with an email of the products and services that were provided on their first visit. He also did state that the service would be provided the first week of the month and that I would get a call the day before. I will say that Massey is very professional and it takes pride in their customers experience
We used this company for about 1 year and my lawn looked great until it didnt. It went from bad to worse to really horrible. I hired them to PREVENT and TREAT issues and keep my lawn green. But unfortunately once it got bad I did not feel the preventative upkeep was there so things just went downhill fast. I would not recommend them.

These guys are very knowledgeable and they take care of the WHOLE lawn, if you need (including sprinkler repair, removing grass/re-planting sod, fertilizing, weed control, pest control). Plus, their prices are fantastic. Great value.
As a long time 15 + years customer I am saddened at how poor the service from Massey has become! They have lost their experienced people and replaced them with warm bodies who do not have a clue about lawn care! I have called the General Manager to discuss the issues with my lawn, three times, never received a return phone call! Called the corporate office, nothing no return call! I discontinued my service with Massey received an email stating someone would be in touch within 24 hours! Ha what a joke! Meanwhile my lawn has continued to deteriorate! Thankfully I found another service who is quick to respond honest, affordable, and knows what they are doing when it comes to lawn care!! Massey come on! Your customer service is horrendous! You lost a long term customer and I will continue to warn people away from Massey!!
I ve been using Masseys lawn and irrigation service for over a year now on my new landscape and sod. It was good in the beginning, but unfortunately as mentioned in another review recently, things have gone downhill significantly. Over the last several months, our grass has started dying and I ve called massey several times for help or answers to no avail. I ve had multiple No-calls No -Shows when someone was supposed to come inspect the yard or allegedly start helping the issues. It doesn t seem anyone at their St Pete office knows what they are doing. I would not recommend massey at all right now.
I ve been using Massey for my lawn and beds for a while. Donterio handles my account. He is the best and u will be lucky if u get him!!!! He calls before he comes so I can leave the gate unlocked. He answers all my questions and concerns. He so knowledgeable about disease and problems I might be having with my lawn. He sees things before I even notice. Needless to say I have a healthy lawn and garden!!!! Thank u Donterio!!!!
I have been using Massey for about 6 mos now and they are a breath of fresh air for responsiveness and overall knowledge. I get proactive notifications of upcoming visits and any issues that arise. My previous provider just showed up whenever and did whatever. My Massey rep David Wallace is super knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend Massey and David.

When using other services our lawn was a wreck. After engaging Massey, within a few months its full and beautiful. Massey will come back out no charge if something is going wrong. Chris our technician is great, makes recommendations when needed, always courteous.

We signed a contract for over $700 of irrigation work back in June of 2021. We called for literally months trying to get them to commit to a date to complete the work. No response. Finally I get a live person and they make an appointment for MONTHS after the original contract was signed. They were supposed to do the work today. No one showed. Avoid this clearly scammy, unprofessional company like the plague. They do not do what they say they re going to do. You can never get a live person on the phone in a timely fashion. They want your monthly service fee and then they want to leave you high and dry.
This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. The only thing they do in a timely fashion is charge my credit card. They were bad from the beginning and I tried to give them some time to fix the problems which they have not. I paid almost $4k for new sod which they were weeks late installing and it was poorly installed. Lots of overlapping pieces and several sections never grew. It is bumpy and uneven. I was told that my kids playing in the grass will kill it and that we should avoid playing in it. Not something that was mentioned when I signed up for the service and mentioned my main reason was to give my kids a place to play. The guarantee is a scam. I was concerned about grass growing under and oak tree. They guaranteed it, charged me for it, then when it didnt grow said it was going to be tough to grow in that spot. They also mentioned that it might be not enough water, in the middle of Florida rainy season where it rains every day. Then they offered to plug the sections that werent growing. It took over month to send someone out with like 10 plugs and they plugged the wrong spots. Then it took another 2 months to send someone out to plug the correct areas and when I checked, there were at least 4 plugs just sitting on top of the sod, didnt even dig them in. Lazy as can be, and clearly dont care. If you try to call them you will get a receptionist who says the managers will call back but they never do. I repeat NEVER call back. They are supposed to also spray my back yard. However, every time they show up I am at work and there is no notification. The service manager claims to spray the back, but my gate is locked so it would be impossible for them to get there. My grass doesnt look like brand new sod. It looks like I did it myself. Im not sure what Im being charged for because weeds still grow and the grass is blotchy. I went with a big name company to get the guarantee and good company backed service. I have received none of these things. I highly recommend staying away from this company and going with some small business who actually cares about your business. Save your money and spend it elsewhere, this branch is garbage.
Worse company ever. Company charges for doing nothing. Our cameras show the tech never treat the yard but we get a bill every month. The company said they would reimburse the fees but never did. They are very dishonest. My yard was beautiful until they took over. Do NOT use them.
