We had Austin Gardeners create a landscaping plan for our new pool. We could not be happier! Manuel worked with the pool builder to create the design and his team executed it flawlessly. From a custom trellis and privacy fence to lueder walkways and steel planter boxes the whole project came out exactly as it was drawn up. The crews were clean, courtesy and great to work with. We will definitely be using Austin Gardeners for future work!

I had a wall-mounted pergola installed (modified from a regular 4 post from Costco) as well as concrete columns to boost the pergola height. The finished product looks great. All work was done well and professionally. Manuel initially provided a rendering of the finished work as well to help get a better idea on what it would look like, which was very helpful for me not knowing completely how this sort of installation should look/be designed. All in all, great work at a great value. Thank you!

Recently the Austin Gardeners Team completed a landscaping project in my front and back yards. Manuel was fantastic from the beginning with consultation to competition. We just finished our landscaping project with A G. I can t express enough how pleased we are with their work. Nachos and his team did excellent work and took ownership down to the smallest detail. He listens to your words and strives to make the project what you wish. The office staff is amazingly helpful and strive to make the process as easy as it can be. Kudos to Daisy and Sara. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The manager is extremely rude and condescending. I had them do a patio clean up summer 2023, including plants of their choosing that I requested native Texas plants, easy maintenance and nontoxic, drip line irrigation, metal edging, and Arizona River Rock. Carlo was lovely and the crew worked hard but two of their workers last summer looked about 14 years old. These experts picked toxic plants which an easy Google search by me (not the expert) had to ask them to remove their first choice of plants. They then found plants which all died with their irrigation system. They placed the plants where they would thrive. The metal edging is full rust 1 year later. They installed rocks that were red and told me it was clay and would need to be washed off or a good rain to appear colorful. Well a year later, they are still red. They brought the wrong wrotes. The irrigation system was spraying water when I turned on the hose so I called them to come out and reattached it in which they wanted to charge me $95. Trying to work with the company was the straw that broke the camels back. They were extremely rude in their tone and when I asked them to work with me, they became condescending. This year, I hired college students from Facebook to plant new plants and it looks SO much better than the professional work. Truly, do not hire them. They are not in the relationship business and do a really poor job. They are far from experts with all my plants dying, the metal rusting (ok that one maybe not their fault or did they pick cheap material?), installing the wrong river rocks, and having an irrigation system that only works for 11 months and even when working, the plants still died. Also, as I look back at my bill, they charged a $75 dollar credit card convenience fee....a bit excessive, but that is what I expect from this company.

Excellent work, decent pricing. They were a little behind because of rain but they guarantee their plants for a period of time so hopefully they all live (and we get a moderate summer for a change).

Buyer beware: ensure work is done to your satisfaction before final payment. We had an agreement with Austin Gardeners to make corrections to our project, but they ignored our emails and calls to schedule. We will use another company for future projects, as this one does not value existing clients. We do not recommend them

Austin Gardeners did it again! It is my third year using them and I am never disappointed. My account representative Carlos and this years crew were 100! Austin Gardeners is the best and I love working with Chavez and his team. They are thoughtful and work through any questions. They always leave the home clean and orderly at the end of the day. I ve done a couple of projects with them. In the photos Austin Gardeners installed the railroad ties retaining wall with the lueder steps, artificial turf, dining patio and river rock with area drains.

For about five years, we had Austin Gardeners at the top of our wish list. After seeing the outstanding results they delivered for several of our neighbors, we knew they were the right choice for transforming our backyard. It took some time to save up the budget, but it was well worth the wait. Our backyard was such a headache before Austin Gardeners stepped in. It was muddy, poorly graded, and overrun with weeds, making it almost unusable for both us and our dogs. But thanks to Carlos and his team, we now have a backyard that exceeded our expectations. From fixing the grading and drainage to creating a dog-friendly environment and incorporating native perennial plants, Carlos was on top of it all. The crew, led by Jacob, worked hard to bring our vision to life. Their attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the project, from tearing up the old grass to building a stunning dog run that spans the length of our side yard. A big shout-out to everyone at Austin Gardeners! Aside from Jacob s crew, several other crews helped out with the project on the weekends. They went above and beyond, even helping with extra tasks like hanging up a hose rack and moving horse stall mats, completely outside the scope of the project, with no questions asked. Even after the major work was completed, Carlos and his team were there to address any issues that arose. Their dedication to customer satisfaction truly sets them apart. Carlos even added some special touches, like solar lights on our water feature, to make our backyard feel truly special. A+ 10/10 work! We had a great experience with Austin Gardeners in our most recent project. They literally rescued our backyard that had drainage problems and had trouble keeping a healthy lawn due to humidity. We had them rebuild it with gravel pathways, a french drain, new turf with new irragation layouts and flower beds. From design phase to the finish we always felt our suggestions were heard and the work was done on time exactly as they said it would. Overall we are pretty happy with them and will recommend 100% to anyone in need of a landscaping job.

Austin Gardeners rescued us when another contractor abandoned our project halfway through. They completed the project and made it look even better by improving a few things. We couldnt be happier. They were professional and had great communication throughout the project.

We had Austin Gardeners out for a quote which came back much higher than we were able to handle at once. We asked that they redesign under our budget and propose stages we could eventually work out. He came back with a quote that had more than I had bargained for at our requested financial ceiling. I agreed and within a few days, which they said they needed to begin, they showed up Wednesday and by days end they had most of the irrigation laid and most of the prep work done. Day two they had all the sod laid and did so many things that I wouldn t have thought of, didn t think of, and didn t even know I needed. Leveling places where it always pooled. Fixing where the truck that dumped all the sandy loam in my driveway left piles of mud, reusing every one of my stones and pavers in a useable, smart way. Germy was the team leader and was absolutely fantastic with communication and was always a step ahead and they finished before days end of day three. Cleaned everything and made our new backyard look like a 5 star hotel. Absolutely recommend. Thank you for your ability to work within our budget and way over achieve in the process.

So they cut through our internet cable on accident which is fine. They said they will send someone that day to fix it. No one ever came out and the I emailed them to see what was going on. They said we have to contact our provider and they cannot fix the cable. We went 5 days no internet ( which we need for work) and they didn t seem to care at all. Then they didn t even complete the job they were supposed to do and said they were done and left. They left out one entire side of the yard. We definitely won t be using them in the future.

We have been lucky enough to work with Austin Gardeners on 3 projects in the last 5 years, 2019-2023! They completed work on 2 different homes for us. Photos below are from the most recent project. I cannot say enough about the level of professionalism, attention to detail, and quality AG has provided to us in the last 5 years. Even during the pandemic, Manuel and his team worked to ensure a quality job was done. They do NOT hire contract workers to show up to do the work, but instead have a team they have trained to complete a quality job. One of my favorite things about AG is that Manuel is so good about working with you as the project evolves. Additionally, you can trust that your investment is protected and you will end up with a quality project. We will continue the evolution of our property with no company other than AG and are excited to see what the future holds.

We had Austin Gardeners completely redesign our backyard. They installed a new fence, a modern pergola, a crushed granite area for our fire pit, and a huge new patio. They also planted all new beds that include uplighting that is gorgeous. Manuel Soto was on time and stayed on budget. I cannot recommend them enough!

Austin Gardeners did a top-notch, high quality job with my modern cabana build. Its a very large structure with an outdoor kitchen, living, and dining areas, a bar, privacy slats, storage and walkways. Any time I had a question, the answered quickly and if there was even the slightest issue, they said, Dont worry, well make it right Manuel and every crew member were helpful, and responsive. The time line slipped a little, but only because of the omicron surge over the holidays and material shortages. I was kept informed at every step. They absolutely stuck to budget, and the only extra cost was with additional requests of mine with agreed pricing beforehand. They are not the cheapest game in town, but their quality is worth it

I ve developed a trusted relationship with Joseph and he is now the first person I call when I need work done. The projects have included installs of an irrigation system, building fences, re-turfing the whole back yard, concrete and iron work, building a patio and steps. We have plans for further work. In any large project issues arise, but Joseph has always been fast to resolve any problems and I ve always been very happy with the finished product. Very bad experience. Chavez showed up and took measurements but never followed up with an estimate. Repeated attempts to reach out to Chavez and Austin Gardners did not yield any results. Completely unprofessional.

We had an excellent experience with Joseph and crew during the planning and execution phases of some hardscaping done in our backyard. Joseph was very polite and accommodating of all questions/concerns about the project. And while we did wait some time to start the project (busy season and post-Texas freeze everyone needing landscaping), once started, they were always prompt and even seeing if wed like them to come sooner when possible. The crew who executed the work were SO great. Very quick, clean and quality work. We did notice something that we wanted adjusted and everyone (Joseph and crew) were very happy to do so, without giving any sense of frustration. All in all, we are really happy with the work and feel it was a great value.

We had a $6,000 project with Austin Gardeners to replant most of our backyard landscaping after the winter storm which was all originally done by Native Edge, who I highly recommend. We had numerous issues with Austin Gardeners including missing plants that were paid for but didnt ever arrive, the crew removing plants that we did not ask to be removed, dead plants after just 1-2 weeks, several billing issues (note that they do not take credit cards without charging their customers a fee) and most significantly, the crew covered up a french drain in our yard with packed soil and weed barrier which caused significant flooding on our property. It should be noted that I did specifically point out the french drain and was assured that only rocks would cover it and water would flow freely. These guys delivered poor service on multiple occasions and didnt seem to give much care into making things right. Take your business elsewhere -- I certainly will in the future.

I hired Austin Gardeners to do the installation of landscape designs that were prepared by Michelle at Red Sun Designs. We knew going in that our budget would not allow for us to complete the entirety of the plans. Manuel provided an itemized list outlining the costs of everything in the plans which made it easy for us to narrow down the installation to what was most important to us. He provided excellent feedback about certain things that would be okay to wait on, and what would make more sense to do in the first installation. Once we had agreed upon what all from the designs would be included in the installation he provided an updated estimate. The team that did the install was very professional, making sure to leave the yard as cleaned up as possible before they left for the day. They were able to accomodate some minor last minute changes to the plans without issue and Manuel and the office were quite responsive to questions I had throughout the process. The finished project looks fantastic and I feel very confident in working with Austin Gardeners again when we are ready to complete the remainder of our designs.

After 16 years we decided to redo our entire yard and the Austin Gardeners were the only ones who believed they could carryout out our landscape vision. And they did! I cannot believe that anyone would have a reason to give Austin Gardeners a less-than-awesome review! The approach to my home goes across a bridge which is elevated into my raised ranch. Carlos and his crew did a FANTASTIC job utilizing a combination of steel girders and composite material for the decking. I was faced with either cleaning the existing structure or staining it. The joists underneath were rotting and now there are steel girders. Many of the neighbors are very impressed with the results. I only have the good things to say about Austin Gardeners!! Wish I could post photos!!

Just finishing up a job now and we love it! We had no issues with responsiveness or communication and all the workers were extremely professional and really went the extra mile. They always cleaned up the area after a long, hard days work. We could not be happier with the work they ve done and we ve recommended them to everyone we can.

We had a large landscaping project with Austin Gardeners. While the landscaping work was as planned, half of the lavender plants died within the first 2-3 weeks of planting. Meghan had voiced some concerns when planting, that there had been fungus affecting that variety, and in fact we had to plant smaller sized plants because of it. Megan did replace (with another plant) the ones that first died; however the remaining lavender later died as well. When asked for options to replace them, we were presented with an invoice for additional $381 to correct the issue. I declined. Thru multiple email exchanges, I was first questioned about under watering and later, I was questioned about overwater (even though I was following the post planting care Meghan provided). Then, Megan indicated she couldnt replace any plants that were not on an irrigation system - first time that was mentioned in all of the planning process for this project. Finally, she offered that growing in Texas summers can be tricky. My concerns are that we looked to a professional to guide us on proper and appropriate plantings throughout our property. Meghan was sadly, not that. If it was too late in the season to plant; why wasnt that mentioned? I would have rather pushed back the plantings to a more appropriate season. Since the install, we have had several other plants die. We also have a significant amount of grasses growing in the crushed granite areas. I have learned a costly lesson in doing business with this company. I can absolutely not recommend them based on our experience, at a considerable expense.

Great garden and patio designs

Austin Gardeners did a great job on my small landscaping project and were so pleasant to work with. They are responsive and reliable and were able to start and finish my project earlier than anticipated. I am so happy with how it turned out. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Chavez and his team of Cirilo (Beto and two other guys). I had a big ugly mud pit of a yard (great shade!) for years. I finally called around and got 4 quotes. Austin Gardeners was one of the more affordable quotes and Chavez dreamed up the entire design for concrete and gravel to make the mud pit a beautiful patio/firepit area to be enjoyed. I have no experience with landscaping so I liked that Chavez threw out ideas based on my budget and what I liked as we discussed the options. The firepit was a little confusing and Chavez was patient as we tweaked it a bit at the end of the project. He said it was no problem to change a few things to make sure the customer was happy. Also Cirilo and his team were very respectful and professional. They always cleaned up after they left for the day (so refreshing). They were really good guys. I HIGHLY recommend this company and will definitely hire them again in the future. Goodbye mud pit, hello beautiful patio area ready for a glass wine and smores!! Thank you so much Chavez and team!!! We love it!

Very professional good

After a lengthy and expensive several months of trying to work with Manuel Soto, he began to refuse to accept phone calls and refused to honor any guarantee associated with his work even in the first year. Manuels crew installed new backyard landscaping consisting of a new sprinkler system, rock drainage way, metal edging to contain mulched, significant planted areas and low voltage area lighting. We never got promised drawing or details on the sprinkler system and do not know how valve boxes receive water or what areas they control. Water use is high and ineffective in many areas and excessive in others. Having designed and installed Toro sprinkler systems with matched precipitation rates for the entire yard, it is easy for me to see that the system designed under Soto is inferior and wasteful. I would not choose to work with this company.

Sub standard work on our water fall , devieloped a leak. Water all in our yard. Would never return our calls for weeks. Had our builder contact them. They made an appointment to come out in a week. We spent well over a 75 k with them. No problem. I dug the 25 foot trench ,moved 6 300 pound boulders. Installed the proper over flow and drain pipe. They stuck a 26 inch Long piece of flex hose in place of a 25 foot pvc drain pipe. And the end was jammed in the mud and i not attached properly to the over flow drain hole. Busted out the center rocks and reengineered . Re mounted the skimmer and water level float and refilled the ponds. All fixed and works as it should . My yard is drying up and I might have saved my landscaping structure .A great Sunday spent doing there job. It is all less than 1 year old by the way. This is what I get for my hard earned money. Poor workmanship and even poorer service after the installation . I would never recommend this company based on my experience with this major problem and lack of caring from Austin Gardners . I wont need you in 2 months or ever again guys. You guys should take a lesson from my wonderful builder. Jeff Watson Homes, always returns calls asap. And does great work. I needed to completely overhaul my front and backyard with new irrigation, lawn, plants, metal edging, etc. With the oversight from James Dear (with Garden Details), the entire project was completed in a week. They came back to touch up certain areas that needed improvement. They have now offered to switch out a couple plants that didn t grow as well as planned. I would 100% use them again.

I found this company to be completely unprofessional, extremely dishonest and the customer service poor. During one of the visits the fence post next to my gate was broken in half. The bottom portion of the board was completely broken off. Absolutely nothing was said to me about the damage and I only discovered the same when my dog got out of my backyard. I understand that mistakes happen and would have appreciated something being said so I could have placed a barricade around that area in order to keep my dog in the yard. During the winter months, my yard was dormant and no yard care was needed. The company continued to charge me for mow and blow maintenance even though there were no services performed as it was not necessary during the winter months as my grass had not grown in order for it to be mowed. Upon contacting their main office about the issue, my concerns were met with hostility and defensiveness. I even attempted to contact the owner, left him a voicemail which was never returned. I do NOT recommend this company!!

UNBELIEVABLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE The morning of the scheduled visit we get a call from James saying often the visit isnt necessary and wants to see if it can be handled over the phone! What? Wow! Not only did they burn a past client (us) but unbelievable that this is their service model? Used them years ago and they did fine work when it was Manuel and a small company. We spent many thousands. We also referred them for new clients. Needless to say we cancelled on the spot and not too pleased we wasted 3 weeks waiting for the appointment. I wouldnt use them for free after that.

Contracted Austin Gardeners to come out and overhaul my backyard, side walkway and area in front of the house. ( I support LOCAL PF businesses whenever possible. ) I was tired of the bushes and mess behind my pool. They came up with a design, similar to whats on their website. They scraped off the sod down to dirt and dug the bushes up by the roots. I was amazed what 4 guys did in one day. They used 2 different types and color of gravel differentiated by a metal border. Then they xeriscaped the areas so my maintenance headaches are gone!! Site survey was on a Tuesday and 4 days later a crew showed up and got started. 2 days later its done and LOOKS FANTASTIC. The back yard seems so much bigger. Very Satisfied with the work done. Its back breaking manual labor and the crew acted like they were having fun. They cleaned up everything and hauled it all away. They go the extra mile. ( any issues you see, just point it out, theyll make it right ! ) You can be confident hiring them to do your painstaking work. Totally Satisfied. This falls under, Service After The Sale. I had these guys install the sprinkler system in my yard 2 years ago. The job was decent, although the strips of land between the sidewalk and the street dont seem to get any water and the grass is mostly weeds. I have to hand water and constantly care to get it like the rest of the lawn. Also the control unit has been replaced twice. One by Austin Gardeners, and once by me. It seems these things go out some time during the winter. Ok, enough background. So the ground starts flooding somewhere between the main line and the sprinkler cutoff. I shutoff the water at the main and call several Plumbers, none of which can come out for at least 3 days. So I call Austin Gardeners, and based on the location they tell me its not an irrigation issue and to call a Plumber. With no Plumber for 3 days I start digging. I expose the leak, and its the fitting from the main copper to PVC right in from of the T that splits to the irrigation. So I call Austin Gardeners back and let them know it look like it is an irrigation issue since its all connected together. They say that someone can come by the next morning (9AM) and look at it (which incurs a $75 visit fee), and if they can fix it the fee will be absorbed in the fix. I say ok. 11AM rolls around and no site visit, I call them back and they say that my visit was forgotten and they would come the next day. Desperate to turn my water back on after 2 days I agree. FFWD to 8:45AM the next day, the irrigation guys are here, they look at the leak (I dug the hole, cleaned the area and exposed everything ready to be fixed. All they had to do was drive up and look) and they say they dont have the part to fix it, and will call the main office. I get a call back about 30 min later saying it IS a plumber issue and that will be $75. After a heated exchange (which should never happen in the service industry) I hang up and go back out examine the problem some more and take some photos. I notice that the connections put in for irrigation was completely mis-aligned with the main line coming in and put a bend in the connection adding undue stress, and it was only a matter of time until the stress on the connection gave way (which it did after 2 years). After a visit to Home Depot, and cutting, sanding, and glueing of PVC, I ended up fixing the broken connection myself and used a more suitable triple-45 setup so I could align the PVC to the copper adapter perfectly. Bottom line, lowest price seems to mean shortcuts, and after the 1 year warranty is up. Its all on you, even if they were the cause of the problem.
