I have to say their lawn service was great. They were here every month, sometime applying some lawn services the same day which killed my good grass too! Mosquito Service was their best asset. That worked great. No Mosquitos and no flies. But, when I cancelled services because they came each month and overbilled services ($325 each month) as of August 7th, 2024, I still have not received my refund as of Sept 19th, 2024. Come to find out that overbilling is a common practice of TruGreen.
The gentleman Wyatt who did the application today was great. Very knowledgeable. My biggest complaint is once you purchase the service you never speak to someone actually in the United States. Who knows where these people are located.
Our specialist Xavier G. did a great job on our lawn. He was very polite and professional. I’d give him a “10.” I’ve been with truGreen for several years and their people have always been very good.

I have been using TruGreen for years now. I use to do it myself but soon learned once in spring and once in fall is not enough. If I fertilize my yard as often as TruGreen does it my cost would exceed Trugreen’s cost and my yard would not look as good. So for years now I let the professionals do it and my yard looks great. 1. My lawn is looking worse than what it was before. I signed up lawn care and Mosquito control. I keep complaining about weeds but there is no improvement. After months of back and forth I lost all hopes and started treating my lawn by myself. 2. a) They claimed that they have performed mosquito control treatment but when I checked the cameras I did not see anyone. They are still charging me. b) They will keep rescheduling the service without notice.
I had my front yard sodded 2 years ago and it looked awesome this spring. Decided to try TruGreen this year and now my yard is a mess. I believe they burned it and not sure it will come back. I have always taken care of the yard myself, but thought a lawn service would do a better job than I could. I was wrong and I too wish I had never called them. Cancelled service.

Took nearly 3 weeks to get someone out here, and then they didnt do my side lot like we had discussed. Service was setup and then my appointments would just disappear Ill be canceling my services after just one......well half of a service. PATHETIC

I hired Trugreen last year to control the weeds in my yard. Pretty sure they were just spraying water because none of them died. I emailed and cancelled my service in November. I recieved an email back from a Chris Aston (customer care coordinator) confirming my acct was canceled. I paid my bill in full in December. Fast forward to today, I received a text stating someone from Trugreen would be at my house shortly to perform my Trugreen lawn health services...WHAT?? I called the 800# and I explained to the representative that I canceled my acct last year and had the email to prove it. She seemed very irritated and flustered. Finally she tells me OK your acct is now canceled on my end. It should have been canceled 4 months ago!! Did they renew my acct without my knowledge or consent??? SHADY!!

Finally changed service from this company and am so happy! Tru-Green could NEVER eradicate the creeping Charlie in my lawn and I would have to call multiple times nearly every time weed control service was performed. One season they burned a huge spot on my front terrace lawn by spilling chemicals. The remedy was to provide reseeding for the following season. Lawn looked terrible for an entire summer. I was billed for service that never occurred. My entire property is protected by cameras and I can clearly see when anyone is on my property so I KNOW when someone does not show up (especially when there is no sign placed in the yard). I am only writing this review since they recently contacted me to request that we give them another opportunity. ABSOLUTELY NOT! Worst experience ever.
Today our lawn received its first service of the year and our service technician was Marvin Nunley. In past years, someone might come to the door, but the most they would say is that they were there to do your service. What a pleasant surprise then today, when Marvin came up, introduced himself and said he would be our technician this year. Further, he explained what he would doing today and asked if I had questions. I have never had someone be so nice, kind and thorough. Marvin is GREAT! Hope he continues. I really appreciated him.

We re only two service calls into my 2nd season with Tru Green, so maybe having a few dandelions is a usual occurrence. Last year went well, Ray is a great technician. My only complaint might be that I haven t seen any info on a seeding program.

I payed in full at the beginning of spring and said the reason I was hiring them was to get rid of nuts edge! The 1st visit I was here and ask are you spraying for nutedge? No I dont have that on my truck i caplaned to his manger so he came a sprayed once. Since then I have called the office I guess and Copland about weeds in my yard all over the place. Because I ask the kid what you spraying for today and he Saud weeds Not one was dying after 2 weeks. So they said sending some one out to give you a free service yep some weeds died. But why am I still looking for ways to kill the nutedge and spending more money? Very Unhappy with this service.

The technician was polite and the price was affordable but theres a reason for that. I was promised my ground bees would be gone and lawn would look great in 7 sessions (1 year or less) but that I could safely mow my lawn within a few days. The technician came out and said my house was more like a 2 year project and that True Green doesnt do anything for bees. Also when the technician came out he was gone within 15 minutes and Im pretty sure he didnt even spray my entire property like I was told they would.

I ve had TRUGREEN treating my lawn for two years now and the clover and creeping charlie are worse than they ever have been. So last time they came I watched on my ring camera and from the time they pulled up to the time they put the info on the door and left was 4 minutes and we have a big yard. I called to complain and they took the charge of that service off but I cancelled them and am going with someone else. That s why we can t get rid of the weeds.
Jade is a kind professional. She does quality work! I like I get a notification of their coming 24 hours in advance; their arrival and the option to watch her work on my phone.

Save your money or use someone else, bc this company is horrible. Three times that I caught on my camera they did not spray the back yard. Ive been bit the entire summer by mosquitos and was wondering why, well its bc they didnt spray for them. When I tried to cancel they put me on hold for 10 mins, hung up on the next time, and then finally was able to get rid of them. If I could give them 0 stars I would.
We decided to cancel our services with TruGreen in May of 2022. A week after cancelling they sent someone out to spray our yard and sent a bill which I called about AGAIN in June. They confirmed it would be cancelled and that there would be a credit to my account. Now its JULY and they sent someone AGAIN to my house and charged for the last two months. This company is worthless when it comes to communication and processes!! It is impossible to cancel, they just turn a blind eye to it. Representative on the phone even confirmed they can see past cancellations date stamped.
Our back yard was in the 2nd year of grass growing, as we had had an in-ground swim pool for 40 years. The pool developed a leak and it would have cost too much money to locate and fix it. So we filled it in and our ground is mostly clay. The first year of growing new grass was an experiment of mixed grasses to get it to start and keep growing. This year, after TruGreen started with the maintenance, the grass is the best on the block.
I have cameras all around my property and can watch what they do and they do half the yard or do our neighbors who does not have your service than put the sign and bill in our yard their supervisor needs to start checking on the people they hire

Burned up my yard with over fertilizing and still have bare spots in other areas after multiple attempts at overseeding and aerating. The fact that there is no response to any complaints should tell you all you need to know. Go with someone local. Replying to TruGreens response below, Calling the number has been futile in resolving the issue. The local service manager was suppose to come out two days ago and even got him on the phone yesterday and told me he would call me as soon as he got to my house.....no call.
This is a terrible company to do business with. They get your money and do not provide the service you just paid for and then when you try to call them they dont answer the phone. The last wait time was 35 minutes on the phone. I cancelled there services earlier this year and they still charged my charge card. These people are a rip off. They did the same thing to my 91 year old mother and my daughter. I have tried to call numerous times and never received a call back Again. I tried working worth these people and they do not care. I went with a local company that calls you back The worse part is my lawn looks beautiful but I cant take the B.S. any more After all said and done they charged my charge card again after I cancelled my service. I will say this The local girl did finally did say that they took the charges off my card but after all this Ill be surprised.

Horrible service. I was customer fore few years. I had a newly sodded yard with Kentucky blue. Now I have is a weedy grass yard. Dont see my sod grass much. Was not at all happy with the service. Called them to cancel it. The customer service convinced me to try once more. I asked the service guy to talk to me before they do any more applications. The next visit they did 2 applications and charged me for those 2, without consulting with me. The yard is still the same. They dont seems to know much about yard maintenance than just applying some fertilizer. Even after multiple calls I didnt get any update. Cancelled.
I decided to try this service due to creeping Charlie, not only is that worse but weeds spring up all summer. Havent received the service I paid for. No extra sprays. I did just as good treating it myself.

I have been a contract holder for a number of years on 2 properties. Service has been exceptional. Lawns look great. Had a couple issues with crabgrass. Made a call and service man was there to treat areas of concern. Jason was our rep. Awesome guy. Will sign up again next year.

I am hoping that TruGreen will reach out to us to rectify our situation. I have called 3 times since Friday and can only reach the call center. I want to talk to the local office in Peoria. Service was supposed to be performed Friday...we were billed and my husbands account was debited Saturday for a large sum. NO SERVICE was performed! I witnessed this myself. VERY disappointed that all of this has occurred. I was told I would not be charged due to the obvious. We have been customers for some time now and we are disappointed to say the least that not only has this happened, but we have not even received a call concerning the situation.
Not a customer but their driver cannot read No Trespassing Private Drive Not a Turn-Around signs. *sigh* The guy even drove over my beautiful moss. People have no respect.
I would give TruGreen a negative star if possible. 8 weeks ago they started a lawn program in which they would, after 5 weeks, aerate our yard and over seed. However no one showed after 6 weeks. We called TruGreen and were told a manager would call in 2-3 days, but no one did. We called back and again were told that we would be contacted. And again, no one called. Do not use TruGreen! This franchise doesn t care about it s customers.
My yard after the first application looks like a war zone!! Second application looks worse. I had them inspect the damage with no answers to why my yard is so damaged. I canceled any further service and received a refund. I m sick about my yard Wish I d never had called them!
I love it that TruGreen Lawn Care comes to my house on a regular basis to treat my lawn and trees, and to treat for insects and grubs. I dont have to worry. I also love it that I have no weeds in my lawn!!!
The specialist, Katelyn Bailey communicates very well about the applications she provides at each service date. She provides instructions about watering and mowing as well. Communication is great before each application and after each application.
TruGreen provides regular ongoing weed control at throughout the growing season. Their products control weeds and lead to a thicker greener lawn that looks good. I do not have to be responsible for doing it myself.
Overall, very unprofessional. First time soil analysis for new customers? Never happened. Not a big deal. Then I purchased aeration and overseeding service. Never came, but they marked it as completed and even sent me the details of what was done! I have security cameras around my house to prove that they never came. I called to inform them (the corporate office), was promised of a follow up visit, never heard from them. So I called the couple days later and finally schedule a service visit. When the technicians came out, they thought it was for aeration only; I had to remind them of the overseeding. This is the Peoria office. Then there is the corporate office. Problem is - most of the time we speak to someone from any one of the offices across the states. You cannot directly reach the local office to talk to them (call gets re-routed to anyone available across states). The sales representative make promises that local offices cannot or unwilling to deliver. They would give you conflicting diagnosis for a lawn problem over the phone without having someone to look at the lawn! One representative told me over the phone I have grub problem and needed chemical treatment (and I did). Another representative later told me that the bare spots are definitely not due to grub. All over the phone! I gave them the benefit of doubt and trusted their expertise, but never again, especially considering the whole package (lawn + shrubs) costs $1,000+/yr.
They always show up when scheduled unless weathers a factor and work with you on the price they charge you and also let you pick when you want your treatments done
I am beyond livid with this company. Yesterday afternoon I noticed tracks across my pasture (I live on the edge of town) that looked like tractor marks. I could smell chemicals and found lots of yellow granules on the concrete around the barn. I could tell someone had sprayed, but was furious because I just overseeded my pasture with Tall Fescue a week before. It hasn t germinated yet. After asking neighbors across the road, I discovered a TruGreen flag on the edge of my pasture and one across the road in my neighbor s yard. After speaking with my neighbor that has their service, I determined this company made a big goof. Why would you spray a property across the road? My neighbor has less than a quarter of an acre and I have about 10 acres of pasture. 2 acres of it was treated. I called today and have yet to receive a call back about this company that managed to kill off approximately 300 pounds of grass seed that I applied a week before. If I don t hear back to my satisfaction, looks like I will be filing a small claims action.
Im starting to wonder if I made a good decision
This local office has wonderful sales tools and a knack for making you feel valued and important. However, for me, my opinions changed after the second application. I have reason to believe that my backyard was not treated during my first application, however this is unconfirmed. TruGreen was scheduled to come out for a third application seven days ago, there was not an invoice on my door or a sign in my yard (along with a confirmation from a neighbor that they did not see a TruGreen vehicle the entire day), my belief is that TruGreen skipped me for some reason. I called the next day to ask why I was skipped, the rep (call center rep), (I am unable to directly call the local office) informed me the computer states that a technician was there and that I was charged. She agreed with me that it seems as if I was skipped, I then requested that my account rep call me directly and that I am issued a refund for the service I did not receive. She said she would do so. I have since called back twice and have been informed that the first rep did neither thing that she stated she would do, no one has answers to anything, but...everyone is sorry! I am now told that TruGreen has to wait a week after an application before a refund can be issued...well...I didn t get an application. So why do I have to wait and why do your call center reps get trapped within their own lies? How many people auto pay or pay ahead for your services and then get billed for services they didn t receive? How many of those people don t realize you do it to them? Is this how your reps make their bonuses?
Be careful they will auto renew account and customer rep never mention that on call when setting up services, at least that was the case with me, but when I contacted them via web chat I was able to get my service cancelled and remove the charges for auto renewal.
TruGreen puts charges on your bill that doubles the amount and tells it was for crab grass or grubs when there is no crab grass or grub problem. The driver tells you he is treating the lawn with weed a feed but you are charged with hidden charges. SOMEONE NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE THIS COMPANY.

Called about one their workers who was being inconsiderate of others driving down the street. The employer parked his truck in the dead center of the street to service the neighbors lawn. There were plenty of space on each side of the street to park. This was dangerous for cars attempting to pass by. So I called Tru Green. The guy who answered told me to call the police to handle it.

Tru Green has been coming out to the house to spray the lawn since last spring. This year, we have tons of crab grass and weeds along fencelines, around all 4 out-buildings and by both gate entrances into the back yard. Last year and this year, I try calling and talking to someone about it, and all I get is the run-around. I litereally sat in the house and watched a very young Tru Green guy sprint 3 times thru the back yard and 2 times in the front yard. He did not get even 1/8 of the yard done. When it came time to leave, he took his little post that hes supposed to stick in the yard and just threw it from the truck, so it laid in the front ditch. Granted..it was like 96 degrees that day, but at 64 years years old, I spent 6 hours on a job hauling and spreading mulch. Surely, if I can do that in the heat a young man not more than 25 yrs old can spray the entire yard. As many times as Ive called, I have never gotten any satisfaction. Oh, and lets not forget they were supposed to come out this past Monday. They did charge my brothers bank account, but NO ONE showed up to do the job. When I called to complain, the representative didnt even apologize. Said they would return within 3 days to acually do the job. Today is day 2, and we have not received a call that they are coming out. CANT HELP BUT WONDER WHAT WE HAVE TO DO TO GET THEM TO DO THE JOB THEY ARE GETTING PAID TO DO. UPDATE: A very nice man showed up this past Friday to spray the yard. I asked if what he was spraying would kill all the crabgrass. He told me no, that the pre-emergence or whatever they put on in the spring, does that job. Well, apprently, whoevery sprayed in the spring, did not cover the whole yard, because now the crabgrass has spread like wildfire. Severely burnt my lawn- would not recommend
I had TruGreen as my lawn care this year and pre-paid one year program for my lawn. My lawn was luscious green before their service. In July, a half of the lawn is dead and they told me due to the army warms (Only my lawn is dead due to army warms in my neighborhood). Furthermore, the dead lawn has nothing except some weed patches here and there, the non-dead lawn has so many crabgrass, thistle, and some other types of weeds I cannot name them. Now I have an eyesore lawn in the entire neighborhood, and my lawn has a professional lawn care TruGreen!! I do not know how those good evaluations are posted here, I have exactly the opposite experience. Now I need to deal with the dead lawn and TruGreen keeps texting me telling me that they will keep applying lawn applications (I already paid them the entire year service). They also would like to give me a quote for more service such as seeding. How can I trust them and keep giving money to destroy my lawn? Stay away from TruGreen!!!
Not the least bit happy with application, did not kill anything. First application was supposed to be $29.99, read the fine print, shame on us, ours was $94 after being told our yard is not all that big. They may have been overwhelmed as to how bad the yard is but probably should have had management call first before doing any applications. We were told management would contact us to discuss what our yard needed and we have received no calls. We waited 20 days for the call then decided today to call ourselves and just cancel.
If I could, I would give them zero stars! Terrible service! Had to practically beg them to come out to service my trees. Once they finally came out they only did 5 of our trees and the service was for ALL the trees. We have 25+ trees. I watched the guy (David Piper) out my windows the entire time. The worst part though was he lied to my son when he asked if hed sprayed all the trees in our yard. He told my son yes, he had sprayed all of the trees. Also he told my son that we would still have to pick the bagworms off of our pine trees even after his treatment. Funny that the sales department told me that he would come with a hose so powerful that it would knock the bagworms off of the tree and they would die immediately. What a joke. I cancelled my service immediately after he left our house. So disappointing.

I gave them 1 full season before I made a review (after we called and voiced our displeasure previously) and our yard is still full of weeds. The last time we called the person on the phone didnt believe me when I said we had weeds all over still... so I took these pictures yesterday, 9/19/17 before I mowed. Absolutely unacceptable for this kind of weed growth after a full season of weed kill.
Stay away from these people if your lawn needs repair and if your lawn doesnt need repair you better take care from it by your self or hire any one cheaper. I hired true green on April 2106 to fix and take care from my weedy yard which is almost 7000 SF. on 07/15/2016 I cancelled my contract with this company because I saw huge amount of weeds and many kinds of weed on my lawn which I never seen before when I was taking care from it by my self. it looks like to me they dont come at all and keep charging people !. I gave them a call on 07/08 and warned them if they dont send someone to look to my yard and check what is going on , I will cancel my contract in 24 hours. They send someone later that day after 2 calls and when he came he said the water grass no one in the world can control it; however, when I signed up my contact with them I told them I need water grass control !!!!. and he mentioned the rest of other weeds and said he will send someone else next day to spray the weed. next day they send technician and spray out my yard in 10 minutes exactly. after 2 weeks nothing change on my yard more over they charged me $133.5 and it is double visit. I called the company and cancelled my contract after I spend another $260 for previous visits. I can say it is a scam and stay away from these people. they do nothing
Lousy service. Tried to talk to Manger. Been told for 2 months someone would call and come out still waiting. Just tried to call again and get message you have called outside normal business hours. Web site says they open at 8 am it is currently 9:13 am. Next service is on the 14th they came yesterday. Suggest to call first so can unlock gate, no call once again. Maybe now some one will call.
Terrible all the way around. Hired them to spray my yard and it kept looking worse and worse as the summer went on. Called them and after sitting on hold for 30 minutes they said they would send someone out to look at it with me at a certain time. Jeff Cramer did not show up. Did not return phone calls. After sitting on hold again they said they would refund what i paid though then only refunded 25% and now will not return any calls. stay away!
I really enjoy the appearance of my yard. I have been using TrueGreen for Lawn Care for over 10 Years and have always loved your service and products.
Lawn is looking good other than a few dead spots because of the drought we had.
I cant even remember what year I started with TruGreen but it has been multiple years. They are very consistent in their work. They come timely, knowing what they need to do, apply the product and leave the expected bill- with no unexpected charges! Their recommendations are that only- not assumed you will purchase them. The technician is very concientious concerning the application to our yard. I have talked to him and we are a team keeping care of the grass and weeds. My yard looks better than it ever has. I do, however, need to spot spray weeds which I believe could be eliminated with my monthly treatment. Not sure why some weeds get by.
I wasnt home when he aerated my lawn but it appears from the looks of the lawn that he did a good job.
TruGreen has done a good job for us. I really like their automated notification to let you know when your next service visit will be. The only improvement needed has to do with the paperwork their service technician leaves behind. It needs to include the visit number on the receipt. For example, we have a plan that calls for 5 service visits, plus one for grub control. The paperwork should clearly state visit #3 or whatever treatment visit it happens to be.
We appreciate that they were here to service the lawn when they were suppose to be. We had one lawn service that were prepaid and didnt come service the lawn when they were scheduled. The yard looks great and they would leave tips about what we could do. I also appreciate the reminders and the follow-up email. Very happy with tru green.
