Great company to work for yet are very picky without a chance unless it was just me. they said because i do lawns on the side i cannot no longer work for them

They have broken our back door twice and won't stop walking through our garden, stepping on and pulling our plants. We've never been able to have any plants because they consistently kill them. Unfortunately I don't get a choice on their services because of the HOA. I wouldn't hire them if there was a gun to my head
I inherited Barr from the previous homeowner. When the irrigation system was opened they made sure there was water flowing and that was about it. Heads were problematic, aimed wrong, leaking. Later the system shorted out and I had to call them back 3 times to get it right. Then later a valve sprung a leak and was continuously running. My technician was nice but he can barely sit or kneel and this compromises his work. I had multiple bare areas in my lawn, two large ones were for a swing set that was removed. Barr agreed to seed the areas. They did this one week AFTER they applied pre-emergent to my lawn, so none of it grew. I found this out later when I hired another company late in the year to resurrect my failing lawn. I asked Barr to reimburse me for the seed application/labor charges and they refused. They offered to do it again, but I had different companies come and solve these problems for me as I had lost faith in this one. Buyer beware. Also, irrigation technicians are not plumbers and can’t do your backflow testing so you have to have an additional plumber come out and charge you for that service as well. I don’t usually post reviews, but when they refused to reimburse for the grass that wouldn’t grow because of the chemicals they applied themselves the week prior, I was motivated enough.
Update 7/8/19: Came out as promised and the work was excellent. So 5 stars for the work but deduct 1 star for the lack of communication. We totally understand that the weather put everything behind schedule. It was just the lack of communication when we were told they would be coming out and then didn't come or contact us to let us know when the new time they would be coming out was. We always had to follow up with them. Nonetheless, the yard looks amazing and better than I imagined in my head so very happy with the results! Original 7/2/19: They emailed us an said they were coming out never showed up. Then emailed us the following week an said they were coming out an never showed up or let us know they weren’t coming out. Put a deposit down an an worried they won’t show up. Very disappointed in the costumer service. I hope u c this owner.
Exceptional professionalism with attention to detail - these folks respond diligently & are highly capable. I am new to this area and had no idea which lawn care service would deliver the best results. I chose to work with a local family owned service as I prefer to support local business owners & entrepreneurs. My yard was in sad shape as we had just purchased a home in Germantown Hills that needed much love & care - it now looks like a golf-course. Highly recommended!

I want to thank your personnel for going that extra step that makes Barr Landscaping the leader in their field. We live in a large apartment complex where Barr maintains the grounds. The previous service did a very poor job and Barr has gone above and beyond the average lawn service company. We have a ground level deck and when mowing and trimming, debris is thrown upon the deck. The Barr person came back without being asked and blew all the dirt and debris off our deck. It may be a minor detail but it sure made our day and shows how Barr pays attention to the details. Terrible, they havent mowed the lawn all year. Even after speaking to them, and the promise theyd have it done last week, its not done.
This is a very unprofessional and unethical company. They damaged my property and in turn refused to help/compensate. They are very unprofessional and unethical in their dealing. I would have given negative stars if I could. I absolutely would caution everyone to stay away from them.

Wanted some landscaping done and some yard clean up. I said what can you do for $1,000.00. Quote later was for $1,600.00 and i said i would work it out. Only flowers i would get would b 3 rose bushes. Thought about it but still wasnt sure. Anyway i was sure the person i talked didnt want to do it. Now i know he didnt as he mailed me a quote for over $1,900.00. Called some other place and got the job done for less than $1,000.00 which included a charge for mowing my lawn.
Men do Superior work. My lawn looks like a golf course thank you to the team at Barr Landscaping. And dont forget the girls in the office they deserve a shout out love the place and well use it no one else
