Hands down Hi Def is amazing! The crew was on time, polite, professional, and finished in no time at all. The team at Hi-Def is awesome! They turned our small unusable dirt yard into a beautiful very usable and enjoyable area. They did half the yard with artificial grass, and half concrete. They also built us a beautiful concrete/wood seating area with a custom fire pit. Our family loves sitting around the fire pit and making s’mores together and we owe the experience to Hi-Def. I had Steve with HI def landscape come over and give me a quote. He was very professional and prompt. Hi DEF landscape did a retaining wall outdoor lighting with speakers, put down fresh sod, rock and mulch. A huge remodel of my whole backyard, and they were by far the cheapest and friendliest landscape company. I found so far I highly recommend going with HI DEF Landscaping.

Hi-Def Landscapes and Design just completed landscaping our backyard and we can't say enough positive things. Jean -Michel designed a plan to fit the grading challenges of our lot and within our budget. Amazing! Our project manager Steve and his team worked non-stop and were pleasant throughout the process meeting all of our expectations. Once completed, the follow up continued to make sure we were totally satisfied. I highly recommend them if you are considering landscape designers.

Our experience with Hi-Def Landscapes was very disappointing. They lied to us, overcharged us, and did not fulfill their warranty. We hired Hi-Def to put in our new backyard in fall 2019. We were very happy with the design we created with Jean-Michel, but as the crew started working we quickly discovered that the implementation was not so good. Steve (the owner and foreman) did not follow the design plan accurately and there were multiple mistakes made throughout the process. There were lots of excuses and apologies as they fixed things and we overlooked this at first, but then we discovered that they cheated and lied as well. When the city inspector came to check the pergola they were building, he noted that the wood Hi-Def used was not what was specified on their plans. They had instead used a cheaper, inferior wood that the inspector said would not last outdoors for more than a few years! If the inspector had not caught this mistake we would have never known. When we approached Steve about the error, he pretended that he had no idea and then blamed the lumber yard saying that they had delivered the wrong wood; however, that was a lie. Hi-Def had, in fact, ordered the inferior wood without our approval and used it to build our pergola. At this point we were ready to fire Hi-Def, but they assigned a different foreman to our job so we gave them another chance. They rebuilt the pergola with the right wood and the rest of the project went a little better, although the subcontractor they hired for the concrete did a really sloppy job. Another big problem occurred when it was time for the final payment. Jean-Michel said he had gone over everything in the contract and adjusted the price to reflect some changes that were made along the way. We looked it over and thought everything was all set, but then just hours before he came to collect the final payment he threw in some additional charges. He explained that the new charges were based on the costs from their supplier. We accepted that, but found out later that this was also a lie. When we tried to resolve this and several other discrepancies on the contract pricing that we discovered, Hi-Def was only willing to refund a small portion of their errors. To wrap up our experience, we had 10 new trees die the following spring due to frost and insect damage. Ten trees that we paid thousands of dollars for! But, thank goodness the contract states that all the plants and trees have a 1 year replacement warranty, right? Wrong! For the past 4 months we have tried all means of contacting Hi-Def to get the trees replaced. At first they made excuses, and then they just ignored us. We even filed a complaint with the BBB, which they also ignored. This is just a small sampling of all the problems that we had with Hi-Def. Steve and Jean-Michel might pretend to nice guys, but don’t be fooled. I'm sure we are not the only customers they have cheated and lied to. Hi-Def Landscapes cannot be trusted.

They totally exceeded my expectations. First, Jean Michel was nice to work with and we felt he was very respectful of our budget number. He offered good suggestions to maximize our budget and had some great ideas that turned out really nice. During construction, I found the entire crew very friendly, punctual and hard working. Steve, the crew leader, talked with me every day and told me what they’d be working on and was really good about walking us through different aspects of the work so we could confirm what was on the drawings. He even rearranged the sequence on some of our work to make life easier for our dog. Finally, the work installed was all high quality and we could not be more pleased. Steve even hand selected all the boulders that were used to get the right colors to complement our pavers and retaining wall. It was obvious that he takes pride in his work. We had an excellent experience throughout and I would definitely use them again.

We had Jean Michel out a couple months ago to begin the design process for a modest patio. Once we finalized the design, it was agony waiting for the patio to begin because we wanted it done so bad. Jean Michel stayed in touch weekly throughout providing commentary on any question we had. Well, the patio finished last week, on schedule, and we couldn't be happier. We went from a 10x12 concrete slab to what you see in the pictures. The foreman Aaron was extremely professional as was his crew. Everyone put up with me being nosey and asking questions. When I noticed a couple oversights they were quick to remediate them. Jean Michel was even there actually laying the pavers, which was awesome to see the lead designer actually helping with the work. They cleaned up after themselves every day and were very careful to leave my yard the way they found it. If you are looking for a quality landscape job whether elaborate or modest like ours, i'd have no problem recommending them to anyone. The owner Steve came by one night to just do a quality check and answer any questions I had and just overall make sure that we as the clients were happy thus far. Something I really didn't expect because this wasn't a "Major" job for a company, rather a modest family home job. Everyone was great. Bottom line.
