Nothing but positive things to say regarding Frank and the Almost Perfect Landscaping crew. From the initial consultation to job completion, Frank was a pleasure to work with. He offered planting recommendations that fit into our budget and was very accommodating to our needs and aesthetic preferences. Knowing little to nothing about landscape design, it was refreshing to work with an experienced professional with a wealth of knowledge about plant varieties, growing/branching habits, susceptibilities to local wildlife, and plant placement/design concepts. Moreover, the Almost Perfect crew was a model of professionalism with the entire installation being completed in one day with impeccable clean-up afterwards! And it was 95 degrees plus outside. The final product (front, side, and backyard flower beds) was classic, neat, layered, and visually stunning--no longer the eyesore of the block! Couldnt be more pleased! :)

Had trouble with service . No new grass seeding . Called Frank was advised too late to reseed as preemergent was applied . Reached out again was told by Frank try to call me numerous times . FALSE caller ID did not show ANY missed calls by Frank . Asked if winter treatment was applied was advised it was . IT WAS NOT DONE . A problem with honesty !!!

First, I usually dont write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so after my experience with APL. I reached out to Frank to do some work on my new homes backyard. Within a few hours of reaching out , he had contacted me and scheduled to come to my house (on a Saturday no less) to scope out the job. Frank was professional, friendly, and explained all my options to get the results I wanted. I was very impressed with his knowledge, and no pressure tactics. I was expecting a quote to be 4 to 5 times what he actually quoted me , and I was floored. Not only had he come in SO much under everyone else, he had 5 guys there 2 days later, and had the job 100% complete IN ONE DAY. I could not be more pleased. Lawn looks phenomenal. What looked like a mid size army of men with several trucks showed up and made quick work of the mess left by winter and several bad storms. As a first time home owner, I think I was overly ambitious and confident that I could take care of all the yard work and upkeep on my own. After a few years, my place went from looking bad, to just plain sad. I do like doing some parts of yard work. But some other parts I was out of my league. Thankfully, we found Frank and his team from Almost Perfect Landscaping. Frank was very fair with us and flexible and willing to do just what we wanted done, allowing me to still do the things for my yard that I enjoy doing. Frank, the owner, and his crew are exactly what they call themselves: almost perfect. And considering that no human being can be perfect, Frank is the best. Frank is very knowledgable, friendly and will work with you and your budget to get the job done. In our case the job was to clean chips, roto till, level, seed and top dress. We lost our backyard when we cut a tree and removed the roots. We received three quotes and chose to work with Frank although he was slightly more pricey than the lowest bidder because he seemed like he knew what he was doing and also the type of person who would keep his word. The company was almost perfect because on the last day the crew was held up by a previous job and arrived at our home several hours late. But we got two calls letting us know what the status was. He showed up eventually with twice the man power needed to make up for the lost time as well as tons of annuals for the yard to thank us for waiting. We hired Frank and team to revive what had become an extremely cluttered and unwieldy backyard. Frank came to our home on a few occasions and talked us through some options. I have been using Almost Perfect Landscaping since I moved to Paramus two years ago. I cant say enough about Frank. He is a great guy and I would never switch to anyone else. I spoke with Frank on a Tuesday about clean up for a home I just purchased. And by Wednesday after noon, everything was complete! Martine from Almost Perfect came to consult with me about what needed to be done. I had a dead tree in the front yard, a diseased tree in the back yard and some wild rose bushes, dead plants and ivy that the seller didnt take care of before I purchased the home. Martine shared great ideas on how to clean up both yards, move a few bushes and create new flower beds - all while making sure to keeps the costs low as possible. Less than 24 hours later I had a beautiful front yard - and after the team cleared it out I was pleasantly surprised that my back yard was much larger than I realized. Martine also took the time to help me identify existing flowers planted in my yard and how to take care of them. Frank was very involved in the process as well and kept me informed of the next steps from the initial phone call and until after Martine and his crew left for the day. Frank and his team do absolutely superb work. We had just moved into a new home and Frank came by to give an estimate. He did not push new/unnecessary business (Even suggested we hold off on major landscaping work to address more pressing non-landscape issues). We hired Almost Perfect to be our weekly landscaper. This year we were having a party and needed the backyard to be cleaned and mulched. Not only does it look great, Franks team did the work the same week we requested. I just had a wonderful experience with Frank and his team at Almost Perfect Landscaping (including Courtney in the office and Martin in the field). Frank is a pleasure to work with - we had a big job on our property to remove English ivy and tree stumps that had been growing for about 40-50 years (due to negligence of previous owners). Almost Perfect did an amazing and very neat/organized work on the ivy and also aerated and seeded our entire property for a very reasonable price. Every other landscaper who quoted me insisted I needed to pay for a lot of topsoil in order to make our grass grow, but Frank and his team were able to make use of the soil I already had on my property without adding more (unnecessary) topsoil. I will continue to use him to maintain my property. He is extremely honest and did not try to upsell anything to me. I cant recommend Frank and his team enough!

Thanks to all the great review here, I also can have a great experience with The Almost Perfect. We recently cut 3 big trees in backyard. There are huge roots everywhere and ground was too hard to grow grass. Frank check the site and gave me reasonable estimate. But, instead of removing exposed roots, guys removed all roots in my backyard. There were more than 10 people in my backyard working together to finish it on time. It should be much more than estimated work!! But, Frank was man of the word and not doing this only for money. He has passion for his work and considering all the things from customers side. I will do all landscaping projects with Frank and recommend all my friends living in Bergen county. I really appreciate service from Almost Perfect.

Almost Perfect Landscaping responded to my request to remove the snow from my residential property after the blizzard of 2016. I had been using another contractor for lawn maintenance and snow removal for many years -- spending thousands of dollars each year. The old contractor had not removed the snow from my property for two days after the blizzard and they were not sure if they would arrive three days after the blizzard. When I called Almost Perfect Landscaping recognizing that they would be extremely busy with their customers, the individual that answered the phone was very pleasant and said that they would be at my home the same day to remove the snow. The owner also spoke with me and said that the property would be cleared on the same day. I arrived home to find my driveway and walks clear. Almost Perfect provides outstanding customer service!! I will be using Almost Perfect Landscaping for my snow removal and lawn maintenance.

APL did a great job rehabbing my front yard. They aerated and reseeded my lawn, removed dead and dying plants, replanted, remulched, weeded and reconfigured my planting beds. I work 9-5 and dont have time to stay home to meet contractors. Frank was able to talk me through his ideas over the phone. I agreed with the general idea and left the decisions to him. I have to say Frank has a great eye. I love the plants he selected and the placement and reconfiguration of the front yard beds. My yard looks 100% better. They also did a spring cleaning for me. I was impressed by their thoroughness - they even moved pots and other items sitting on the ground so they could clean every crevice. I now have them maintain my yard as well and the crew is very efficient and professional.

Disappointed that I used their online contact form on their website, waited for about a week for a follow up call, and needed to call them directly for them to respond. The owner came out to see the property and promised an estimate. Never heard from him.

Trying to find a reliable and responsive company for most tasks can be complicated and finding someone to care for your lawn is no exception. I reached out to several landscapers based on referrals or just by seeing their vehicles pass on the street. Thankfully my daughter spotted Almost Perfects truck while coming home on the bus one day. Frank and his team over at Almost Perfect have been nothing more than Perfect from returning my initial call to coming out and giving some much TLC to my homes lawn. They were able to accommodate my needs right before the July 4th holiday as I was hosting guests and did not want them walking into the jungle that was my lawn. My lawn looked so great that I don;t even remember it looking so good before I purchased the house. You wont go wrong choosing Almost Perfect; I know I didnt.

I will start by saying Almost Perfect isnt just the best landscaper Ive ever worked with, theyre hands down the best customer service driven company Ive ever used. We received several bids from different companies for a complete Fall Clean up in our front and back yard. They completely stood out from the rest and completely the job timely. My lawn was getting burned out, they were not showing up, very little communicate. I had enough, and asked if Frank could take us on. I am so glad he did. My lawn has come back to life, and always reachable when looking for estimates for additional services. Ok. Ill start by saying I am extremely picky about who I hire to do anything for me. I always get 3 estimates and even if youre the lowest price, if I dont like you...youre out. So in walks Frank. Oh, Frank. You stole my heart with your enthusiasm and ideas. From moment one, he knew that my (large) property was going to be an ongoing project. I wanted privacy trees planted along a side yard fence. A lot of them. 17 to be exact. But he was on board with, supported and even embellished upon my wants of all different evergreens with some deciduous trees. He led me through a nursery to choose trees (with my two kids, mind you) and then to his moms house to see how her layout/backdrop of different trees were. It was beautiful and very close to what I was looking to achieve. On to the planting. 17 trees were planned out, planted and mulched within 2 days. They look fabulous and I know that they will grow into a beautiful privacy screen. He added root hormones (which he swears by) to initiate the process of the roots taking to the surrounding soil. Any of the damage from the trucks bringing the trees in was raked and seeded for repair. The price was reasonable and the work was fantastic. All in all, I highly recommend Frank and his team. Im thrilled to have found my go-to-forever landscaping company.

My lawn was in terrible shape, front and back, following a removal of a couple of trees and some other problems. It needed a thorough clearing of remnants of roots, clearing of bushes, etc., additional topsoil being put down to even out surface, new grass being seeded. In short, the lawn needed to be saved! I contacted Almost Perfect in late September, Frank, the owner, got back to me quickly, came out and looked things over, discussed them with my wife and myself. Because there was little time left to do the fall seeding and because I had to travel, he arranged things so the work was actually done before my trip. I He had one crew come early in the morning of October 6, another later in the day, everything was done efficiently and thoroughly. I felt very good about my interaction with both Frank and his people. Some additional work was necessary subsequently, and it has been very easy to arrange. I intend to hire Almost Perfect again to help keep the property in good shape

From the first moment I spoke to Frank, or any member of the Almost Perfect team for that matter, I could tell he took pride in his work. The team truly wanted to provide me with exactly what I was looking for, without trying to up-sell me on additional features. As far as I m concerned, Almost Perfect Landscaping lived up to its name. Thanks to Frank and his crew, in no time at all my neighbors are going to lose their unobstructed view of my pool and party deck and the front of my house went from drab to wow. I don t know the first thing about trees or shrubs and had absolutely no clue what the best ones would be to give me quick privacy and that wouldn t die in the yard of a person without a trace of a green thumb. Frank is a walking green encyclopedia and was able to give me expert advice and plenty of options to choose from. His crew showed up on time, were very professional and courteous, and even were kind enough to dispose of a giant tree branch that had been lying in my yard since last year. Overall I give them an A+ for a job that turned out better than I hoped for, and there s no doubt I will call on them again for my next landscaping project.

These guys are great! I got several estimates in my area and their estimate was fair and reasonable. Frank sent over his guy Martine and the job was completed quickly and done exactly as i wanted. Highly recommend these guys.

Frank and his team were extremely professional and the quality of the work was above expectations. Frank worked with us to come up with a plan that fit our budget and explained all the different options to us and our neighbors (it is a shared yard with the other owners in the building, and all needed to approve the work). The job was a fairly major renovation of the back yard. They removed the old fence and installed a new one (with a retaining wall, due to the slope between our yard and the next house over). We also had them remove the lawn, which was in very poor shape, replace it with gravel and remove the unsightly plants we had in the yard. They then installed edging around the planted areas, planted new trees and flowering plants, and mulched all the areas. The day of the job, the crew showed up on time and got straight to work, without any need for direction from us. The only time we needed to do anything was to approve the final layout of the plants. From beginning to end, the job was approximately 7 hours, including clean up. The price quoted to us during the planning phase was exactly what we paid in the end. All our neighbors congratulated us at the end of the day on the great improvement. We would recommend Almost Perfect Landscaping to anyone looking to improve their outdoor space.

Trying to find a landscaping company that worked around your schedule was difficult. I stumbled across Almost Perfect Landscaping through a search of landscapers in Bergen County on Google. I was extremely please, starting with the courteous office staff all the way through the workers dedication at my home. Frank Porter was excellent in his delivery and made me feel comfortable that my project was in good hands. He knew my budget and did his best to adhere to my needs. I needed a last minute sod install before having a party and Frank was very accommodating and made it happen. He was very responsive to my requests (unlike other landscapers I contacted) and everything went as planned. I received several quotes from other landscapers and Franks quote was very reasonable so I decided I went with him. It has been several weeks since the Sod and Tree install and I followed Franks watering schedule and everything looks great. Will definitely use Almost Perfect Landscaping again for other landscaping needs. I highly recommend Almost Perfect Landscaping.

Franks crew brought in soil, leveled and cleaned the property, trimmed trees and bushes, and created mulch beds around the tress. We called three landscapers for estimates and Frank Porter responded the quickest- within 24 hours. The other landscapers returned our calls three days after the initial call. Although Almost Perfect was slightly higher than the other two estimates we were extremely pleased with Franks presentation and knowing exactly what we wanted and needed. We were preparing the property to sell. Frank called and emailed us to inform when his crew would arrive. They arrived promptly and completed all the work as promised. What truly impressed us with Frank was that he wanted to ensure that we were 100% satisfied with the work before paying him. We made some small adjustments which he quickly responded. Frank was excellent in returning both calls and emails within a very reasonable time. The crew of about 5-6 seemed to be experienced and each worked their specific jobs with diligence. After the work was completed we decided to use Frank to maintain our property until it is sold. We were very pleased with his work and will highly recommend that the Buyers continue to use Almost Perfect.

We had a wonderful experience with Almost Perfect Landscaping and would highly recommend them. They are reasonably priced and really go above and beyond. We recently moved into a new home and tried to maintain the lawn ourselves in order to minimize our expenses. However, it became clear that we needed serious help - patches of dry / dead grass started showing up on our brand new lawn and the weeds were beyond our control - it was so bad that it almost looked like we had abandoned our home. I called Almost Perfect Landscaping on Monday morning. That afternoon Frank came over to give us a quote and on Tuesday, his team came to fix our lawn and our plants. Weve used Almost Perfect for our weekly landscaping needs, and winter snow removal services for years. But recently, we decided to put in a Generator. Franks team came in and prepared the area where the generator will be installed-it needed to be leveled off significantly, as well as having various established shrubs removed. They also installed underground gutters so that rain no longer collects at the base of our garage. While they were getting these items done, we discussed the condition of my driveway. While we were gone on vacation they repaired the cracks, leveled off the driveway, and sealed it. We came home to a gorgeous new driveway. Franks teams are always extremely professional and he responds quickly and efficiently. Frank comes out himself to view the job so that he knows exactly who to send and can explain the job with the detail required to do it right the first time. They are a great business to work with!!!

Frank and his crew made a wonderful job at our new place, we just moved in and had no time to over see the job but this was not needed since they did great, he meet with us at the nursery and showed my wife all the options that we had, he also was on vacation but still wanted to keep updating us with anything that came up for the project, his company is not local to us but he still took the job we wished he was so they can do our regular maintenance. In today age were reviews are critical about business we personally don`t hire a company if they don`t have an online presence but also one has to be careful with fishy reviews specially if the site like yelp and Angie list were the business paid them to remove the negative reviews but here on google they don`t allow that and let me tell you this guys are the real deal we read all their reviews before calling, we have another project in mind and this company will be the 1st one to get our call about it. Call these guys they will take care of you.

contacted Frank from Almost Perfect Landscaping 2 weeks ago for a job at my house, to remove stumps and plant new shrubs. he checked out job, gave me several options, then,gave me a price, he delivered the shrubs on schedule and installed them in a very challenging space around my pool. when I came home the entire job was done, the yard and drive way were clean, the bushes look great. Frank was an excellant guy to do business with. I would highly reccomend him. I will be doing more planting in spring and will call him first.

Frank, the owner, did a wonderful job improving the look of the front, side and back of our house. He was able to solve our problems with weeds, mossy patches, overgrown bushes, lack of sunlight. He took us to the local nursery to pick out lovely shrubs, bushes and trees to replace what he had uprooted from the front of our house. Our lawn was seriously overgrown since we were not able to cut it for a month. It looked impossible for me to cut myself. The receptionist at the office was kind, and Frank called me next day after checking the status. He said the cut needs to be done as soon as possible, and just a biweekly cut afterwards. Next day when I called him and told him to proceed, his team came only a few hours later and cut the grass. It was done fast and beautifully. The edges were trimmed as well. Im very happy with the result and highly recommend this company to anyone.

We asked to install sod in front yard of our house. There was some trouble in comunicate with them but once we talked, it went really quick. The estimation came fast and also installation was done while we were going out for several hours. They offered me to set up sprinklers but I wasnt sure when they would come. So I missed that opportunity, but still they are kind enough to check the status of sod time to time. I will see how it goes. I am going to ask them some pavement work and seeding next year. I highly recommend them.

Frank and his team have been working on our yard since May 2013, and they have done a fantastic job. In addition to regular maintenance of the yard throughout the summer, I needed to make two additional requests recently: (1) to cut down a tree (which was actually two trees intertwined) in our backyard and (2) pruning at the edge of our property to prepare for fence installation. Frank was able to take care of the tree removal and provided full service - stump grinding, removal of wood chips, and sod planting where the tree used to be. The pruning job needed to be done right away in order to have our fence installed. Again, Frank and his team were able to accommodate and did a wonderful job. Overall, we are very pleased with Frank and his team and would highly recommend Almost Perfect Landscaping.

They were just perfect. The owner Frank came to survey the project. He was knowledgeable and told me not to spend my money on fix that I didnt need. The crew worked efficiently and made my property look brand new. He also call to ask how the job turned out and to remind me to water the lawn. The price was fair and reasonable!

We hired Frank Porter at Almost Perfect to do the following work: re-grade an unsafe section of our back yard, which was torn up after we had 7 large trees removed, tear up a cement path, and install an underground drainage pipe. To say Frank Porter and Almost Perfect went above and beyond would be an understatement. Not only did they do an incredible job on the work discussed, they did an incredible job on work we didn t even expect them to do. We discussed re-grading only areas absolutely necessary for safety, this meant about half of the back yard. There were other areas that were not cosmetically appealing, but in the estimate, to keep the cost down, we decided to hold off on the cosmetic areas. In the end, the guys did all areas that needed attention, about 90% of the backyard (the remaining 10% didn t have any safety or cosmetic issues and didn t need to be done) and a portion of the front yard. We were shocked and thrilled to see how above and beyond they went. They yard looks incredible. Re-grading a yard requires some ancillary work, we didn t give much thought to this work since we didn t think we d really notice it. For instance, we knew they would mow the areas that were being re-graded, but they mowed the entire lawn, front and back, and finished it off with edging (we live on a corner lot, lots of edging!) and leaf removal over the entire lawn. We knew they would trim part of a large shrub in the back yard because it was shading some of the new seed, and they trimmed the entire thing it took almost 2 hours, it would have only taken a half hour to do the necessary area. Our yard has never looked better! We had an underground drainage pipe installed. In the original estimate we were only going to do one and hold off on a second pipe that needed to be done until next year. When the guys finished the first pipe, they had materials on site to do the second, so they offered to do it at a moderate cost, and we happily agreed (especially after seeing the excellent job they did on the first one). Last, but certainly not least, we wanted to put in two trees to memorialize loved ones lost this year. Frank told us to pick out whichever trees we wanted (he offered some suggestions of trees that would serve as beautiful memorials), he then gave them to us at his wholesale cost, and really went above and beyond when he installed them for free. His guys made a special trip to the nursery to pick out the trees we had chosen, and then to our house (on a separate day from when they did the rest of the work) to install our trees, which took two guys a over two hours two hours that we were not charged for, and with the material given to us at cost, this was obviously not a profit driven job at all. We did not think we d be able to afford this memorial for a few years, we are so grateful that Frank and Almost Perfect made it possible. It means so much to us and has already brought us much comfort. We can honestly say that we highly recommend Almost Perfect, we are thrilled with their work. Our yard has never looked better. We will definitely be using them for all of our future landscaping needs. Thanks Frank!

I met Frank Porter of Almost Perfect Landscaping about 4 weeks ago as a result of trying to locate a contractor to beautify my parent s yard as a Father s Day present. I called several companies and almost Perfect was the only who responded quickly and promptly. We discussed the scope of the project and then Frank asked me to send him send pictures so we could discuss budget. We went back and forth brain storming the project so I could get the most bang for our buck. The results were spectacular. Let me tell you this, these guys really know their stuff. One day 5 men did what would take us years to do. We suggested that they remove a tree and trim another to which he did not want to do because its severity and suggested that we find a tree removal company. We had trouble finding a company that would be able to remove the tree quickly and at a reasonable price. After telling Frank the issues that I was having he told me not to worry about it he would take care of it. He ended up trimming both trees which opened up the yard. This company goes above and beyond their call of duty. Next week he is planning in returning to customize our deck. I would trust this company with not almost anything I need done, but everything.

After the hurricane, Frank was able to quickly secure a leaning pine tree for me as well as remove a smaller tree. This was in the week when trees were everywhere and no one was returning your phone calls. Frank and the crew come reliably week after week and make my yard look terrific.
