O'Neil's Tree Service in Palm Harbor

Dalton came to our house and patiently worked with us to determine the best course of action for 2 large and old camphor trees. His price was in line with another tree company to trim one of the trees and to remove the other. He took the time to answer my questions and I had a bunch of them. Well be having ONeils do the job.

Did a good job removing a large palm in a difficult spot (palm that unfortunately I had to remove since it could be a hazard to the nearby house). Daltons crew did a professional job in temporarily removing and replanting a nearby plant that could have been damaged during the removal of the palm.

O Neills did another great job trimming our thirteen trees. Arborist Dalton is knowledgeable, trustworthy and guides you through the process.

We had one tree down and another still standing but suspect after Hurricane Milton. From the moment we contacted them, we were never left wondering what was going on. It was a complicated removal that required the disconnection of a high voltage line directly above the tree. Due to the large number of customers without electricity, Duke was unable to get to us and did not show twice when we were told they could. The first time, ONeils had rented a crane to hoist the tree out. Fortunately they had another job they were able to move to so it wasnt a wash. They never asked me for more money. They let me know every time they were in touch with Duke and what the outcome was. When Duke did come (seven weeks after the tree fell), I was blown away with how these guys removed the standing pine tree, then lifted the downed oak tree which was wedged between our fence and a rubbermaid shed, and resting on top of a little cottage in our back yard. The trees had to be removed from the back yard by a crane in front of our house. They had to manuever around a neighbors tree, over our house and onto a narrow section of driveway to be cut for loading on the truck. The fence and shed did not move when they lifted it out. Not a branch was broken on the surrounding landscape. And they did it all in 3 hours. Unbelievable. This is our third experience with them, and while there are other less expensive services out there, it would be impossible to surpass the professionalism and precision work they do. Not only did we get what we paid for...we got MORE than we paid for. Well worth it.

This company is fast and very efficient. Great crew very respectful. Also very knowledgeable in the tree business. We look forward to doing business with them in the future.

I moved from Boston to St. Peterburg and wasn t familiar with the trees here. James came out and answered all my questions about which trees needed work. I was mostly concerned about a live oak that looked like it was dying, but he reassured me that it was just in an annual cycle of shedding leaves, which I didn t know happened in the south. He recommended pruning the dead branches off that giant tree, of course, as well as pruning some smaller shrubs and palms, and removing others. He sent a quote with several options, and I felt that not only was I in the hands of an expert but also someone who cared about the trees and my yard not trying to sell me the maximum services. I even mentioned that I had been sneezing more than usual and he said, We don t have snow down here, we have pollen. The crews were great. When Phil arrived early, despite my telling the office person who booked the service that I d be on a conference call and couldn t be disturbed, he was patient and gracious. He did the work, then when I was ready he took the time to show me what he did, confirmed it was what I decided with James, explained how it would benefit the trees, and answered all my questions. They left a huge pile of branches neatly stacked in front of my home, and the following day another crew came to remove them. I was especially impressed that they took all the branches and debris and cleaned up fully, and didn t leave any mess for me to deal with. Between James and Phil, I very much felt like I was in the hands of professionals. Looking forward to having them continue to service my trees and shrubs.

We just had trees trimmed by ONeils. Jeremy Fawe and crew arrived as scheduled. 2 camphor red leaf maple and oak all trimmed and lifted. Excellent work and debris picked up within an hour of completion. Highly recommend them. Well Done!

I never use anyone else for trimming my trees. They know what they are doing. They may not be the cheapest but if you want the cheapest you will get what you pay for. My tree is so healthy and trimmed so nicely compared to most in my neighborhood. Now I know the difference in a well trimmed tree and hackers.

Carson Langer and his crew are miracle workers! They removed a very large tree which was located between our house and high power lines. And due to hurricane Milton it landed on our roof. A gigantic crane was used to remove the tree over our house. The team work was well orchestrated. They demonstrated what is best in America. They did a fantastic job! We will use their service over and over again until we run out of trees. Langer and his crew are an exceptional group of people. Thank you very much!

ONeils has done a great job on my Pink Mammosa tree.It has taken a beating with the storms however, it is doing well and is in full bloom.

Matt, is a true hero at least in my opinion. Last Friday , he came and knocked on my door and asked me if this was my dog .it was my Yorkie, Abby!!! I was flabbergasted as I thought she was in my backyard. I am having my house tented and unbeknownst to me, one of the workers getting the outside ready, had inadvertently left a side gate open !! Integrity in this company is horrendous. Foreman arent held accountable for anything and they take weeks to finish basic jobs cause theyd rather go home early. They also hold competitions to see who can muster up the most fake reviews so be careful sifting through these reviews unless pictures are attached with proof. They do great work but are slimy as hell.

I have hired them twice to take down trees. One was a huge oak and they had to go over a birdcage over the pool. Both times they were fantastic. After permitting, they were looking to schedule and came out and did a great job, cleaned everything, were professional, respectful to the property and had great communication. Just Wow. We had ONeils out here to take care of our live oaks. The whole experience was amazing. First, we got several bids and the price was good for a fully licensed and insured crew. They arrived when scheduled, were extremely professional and courteous. The work was outstanding. They cut away the dead wood, inspected the trees while they were up there, lightened up the load on a big branch that is above our roof, cleaned up the roof, cleaned up all the debris, our yard was pristine after they left. Many arborists have tried to tell me to cut the live oaks that are near my house down, instead ONeils helped us do what we want to do, preserve our magnificent trees while keeping our home safe.

ONeils was contracted to remove a tree from my street, which is on a cul-de-sac. They had the road completely blocked, preventing any entry or exit. I asked the workers to please leave room for cars to pass, but they completely ignored my request and continued to block the road entirely. I attempted to call the company but was sent to voicemail with no response. This not only left me barricaded in my home but also posed a significant safety hazard. What would they do in the event of a true emergency, such as a fire or other disaster? Their actions were completely disrespectful and dismissive of the safety and convenience of residents. It seems they are only concerned with getting their job done, with no regard for the impact on the community. I expected better communication and consideration from a professional company. I would not recommend ONeils to anyone who values safety and respect in their neighborhood. Response to the owners response: On that day I received one call from an unknown number. When I tried to call it back there was no response and no voice mail to indicate who I was calling. There was no attempt to communicate with me about the obstruction or its duration, Im pretty confident I said the name of the street in the voice mail regardless. The photos I have clearly show that your crew obstructed the road until well past 5 PM. This interrupted essential services such as mail delivery and prevented me from leaving my house the entire day. There were no visible safety cones to indicate ongoing work, which further exacerbated the situation. I am disappointed by your response, which seems to disregard these facts. The obstruction not only inconvenienced me but also posed safety concerns for the neighborhood. This lack of acknowledgment and transparency raises serious concerns about the integrity of your companys operations.

Workers showed up on time and made sure every tree was trimmed to my satisfaction. The cleanup was superb.

was told by apprentice arborist/estimator they only do jobs that can be charged $1000 or more...so, unless I wanted to pay $1000 to prune two palms, they wouldnt do anything for me. He also insinuated I was out of their work area..they are in Palm Harbor, Im 5 mi away in Gulf Harbors,NPR...waste of time calling O Neils...they want your money, not your work

ONeils Tree Service did an awesome job trimming my front oak tree. They were able to lift the canopy 8 feet to allow for easy mowing. They did a great job of cleaning the dead wood out of two very large old trees, removing a smaller tree and shaping the shrubbery on my lot line. They were a pleasure to work with and left my yard spotless. Highly recommend them!

Excellent service from beginning to end. Roy assessed cutting of 4 diseased palms. Gave advice and method of cut. The team of Carson and Fitz made sure to arrive before we left for spring break. Having to work in a 10 feet space, they listened to my concerns of their not dropping logs on fence or patio. So, heavy palm cuts of 2 feet were notched then roped then lowered to the ground. No damage! Carson handled his chainsaw like a French chef. Fitz assisted and cleared debris all the while entertaining us with humorous observations. Losing four trees was stressful. These men did a great job of easing my anxiety.

The estimate included the name of their insurance company, a detailed description of all the work to be done and the cost of each thing being done. They texted to confirm time, arrived a little ahead of schedule, and completed the task punctually. I highly recommend O Neil s Tree Service.

Fantastic experience using ONeils. The best around by far. I had a very large Laurel oak tree removed that was destroying my foundation and then replaced it with a beautiful Live Oak and Red Maple. The advice on options was incredibly useful so I could make a informed decision about the replacements. The service I required was to trim a large tree in my front yard to be sure that its branches overhanging my the roof of my condo wouldnt give way during a strong storm. I was surprised how little needed to be done and how quickly ONeils Tree Service performed this work. I learned quite a bit from the arborist Dalton, who determined the health and strength of the tree and what services needed to be performed for the safety of persons and property in or around my condo. ONeils Tree Service did an INCREDIBLE job trimming and pruning our front oak tree. They were able to lift the canopy 12-14 feet to let in more sunlight to our front landscaping and it looks fantastic. I received a marketing flyer in my mail that I responded to because I needed tree trimming. I went online and saw that ONeils had good reviews. I called the company and scheduled someone to come out the following day for an estimate. James was very knowledgeable and did not attempt to push for unnecessary services. I received the estimate within a day and was impressed with photos which were marked up showing what areas of the trees needed pruning. Several days later the crew showed up and performed the work precisely as I had asked for. Crew members were on time, polite, and courteous. Only negative comment - the crew informed me that a truck would come by that day or next to pick up the trimmings that were left in the front yard. Next day - no pick up so I called the office to report what happened. She took care of it immediately and early the following day the truck came for the pick up. No big deal, but I didnt feel like I should have to call to remind them to finish the job. Otherwise, I was happy with their work.

They gave me detailed outline of the work to be done. They said they were about two to three weeks out on the schedule. They gave me a reasonable, in line with the job estimate and took pictures of the trees they would be trimming/pruning. They asked for a 10% deposit and then called to set up the work. They knew how long it would take to do the work and they showed up a bit early to do it, which was fine as the sprinkler guys were coming later. I was completely satisfied and pleased with the work and the price. What more could you ask for from them?? Thank you so much for reliability and dependability!!

We received a professional detailed estimate from ONeils to remove a large oak tree. The crew showed up on time with all the required equipment. Our experience was OK. The people I dealt with were all nice and professional. They are very upfront about how incredibly busy they are and what they don t do, and that list is long. This makes them seem curt and not very customer friendly. The prices were high as well, and the only payment methods they accept both charge additional fees (2.9% for credit cards and $10 for a bank transfer). They should get a Venmo account - its far easier and less expensive for customers.

We had a very large pine tree removed. The workers were very professional, very skilled and courteous. They understood our safety concerns as this tree posed a danger to our home as well as our neighbor s home. We were also concerned about the underground pipes under the tree. They removed the tree with great expertise, cleaned up and left our front lawn completely undamaged. These people are experts at what they do. Would never call another tree company.

Great service from start to finish. Everyone was professional and friendly. I had seen O Neil s Tree Service in my neighborhood doing a tree removal and I was very impressed with their work. I had a large Laurel Oak in my front yard and large dangerous roots that had taken over. I had contemplated having it removed but hadn t moved forward. It had a beautiful canopy but the roots had to go. The next week I got a flyer from O Neils. I gave them a call and Dalton Raubunas was out the next day to give me an estimate. After analyzing my situation he explained how he could help me. I had done a little homework on what neighbors were paying for tree removal, so when Dalton gave me the estimate and the scope of the work, I was ready to move forward, feeling really good about his attention to detail and incredible price. Right on the spot he printed out his report that included photos of my property, insurance info and everything thing I needed for my HOA and myself. They took care of everything and it all came together smoothly. The scheduled me and they were onsite in 4 days. They kept in touch throughout the process and were readily available at any time. The most amazing team showed up as promised. Watching them start to work I knew I was in good hands. I was amazed by the crew. The entire team was so in sync them seemed as one. Roy the arborist is excellent. He gave a us all the information we needed to make a decision about our tree that was hit by lightning. They have done some tree trimming in the past and were excellent. We will always have O Neils do our work

I was very impressed on how the removed a big pine from my backyard. Other companies in the past told me they couldn t do it without bringing a huge crane and going on top of my house. I was very hesitant to cut this tree (it was leaning and split at the top which creates a weak point for breaking). Every time we had a storm or hurricane threat I was mortified. Both sides of my house are very narrow. They have this little crane and they were able to get it done. The team was very efficient. Carson was very attentive and professional. Will definitely use them again.

I could not recommend the team at ONeils Tree Service more strongly for any of your tree trimming, tree removal, and stump clean up needs. This is the second time I had the opportunity to use them and they made quick, very professional work of a dangerous tree landing over my house. Ive worked in the electric utility industry which has extremely high safety standards and I can say that every member of the crane, removal and ground team were operating in a very safe, highly efficient manner, with high energy and great attitudes. While initially I was put in contact with ONeils by my insurance company for some post-storm clean up, when I had a new need I didnt hesitate to call them and I am a very happy, satisfied customer.

We had a large diseased laurel oak tree that needed to be removed. I obtained several bids and all were much higher than ONeils, but not only that, each of them said they it would take 5-7 full days to remove the tree. ONeils said they would have it done in half a day. When they gave me the initial bid, it was clear that they were light years more professional than the other companies. Their work proved to be true to my impression. The work was done as scheduled and completed on time. They removed the entire tree along with the grinding the stump so that the ground is level and we can put something in its place. 10-star service!

An amazing and reliable company! I was made aware by my roofing company that my job was delayed due to some trees overhanging my roof. I reached out to Monica hoping for a miracle and she was able to set me up for same day service! The crew showed up promptly and efficiently removed everything obstructing my roof and Monica even went as far as to have them clear over my driveway as well so I have no problem with my shingles being delivered! Overall I am very happy with the end result and the work. Dalton was enormously knowledgeable and his customer service was outstanding. That combined with how itemized and detailed the quote was made me chose Oneils. I had a sweet gum tree in my front yard whose roots were destroying the foundation of my house, any other repairs were on hold and contigent upon that tree being removed. Dealing with office was kind of a debacle. Monica was very helpful and friendly but I was begining to lose faith when they couldnt seem to first pay for the permit and then subsequently pick it up ( I took care of the latter in hopes of keeping things moving). When they canceled on me the day of my service ( after I had confirmed the business day before) I had to reschedule the foundation work with no firm date as to when the tree would be removed. BUT their service manager called me 2 days later, had a crew ready, removed the tree and had the stump ground and cleaned up the very next day. And I will say the work is outstanding. A+ to Dalton and the field crew.

Very knowledgeable and you can tell they care about your trees. Mike, Errice and Carson actually arrived early and after a brief introduction and plan review, they got to work. My tree was looking rather shabby but when they were done, I knew I made the right decision by calling O Neil s.

They passed out flyers in the neighborhood but when you call they have doubled their rates and its now a thousand dollar minimum to come out. They say it too far from their home base. Then dont pass out flyers!

There was some issues with the arborist who gave me the quote to remove several palm trees and other trees. Issue was regarding the need for a permit to remove a Sable palm tree and then slow to communicate that no permit was needed so this caused a loss of one star on this review. But the actual work to remove 7 trees, trim several remaining palms, and stump grinding was very good. ONeils definitely has right equipment to remove and trim trees close to houses. Trees were removed quickly and safely and the resulting tree brush was hauled away quickly as promised. Stump grinding went very well with no issues with lawn and yard. Overall was very happy with the job done and recommend ONeills Tree Service. Plan to use them again for trimming my palm trees.

Apollo and his team were great! I had some trees that have been improperly maintained over the years and Apollo was able to provide me options that would benefit the health and longevity of the tree. The day of service was simple and they even left my some firewood from some of the trimmings. ONeils should be your go to tree service if you want to maintain the health of your trees!

I hired O Neils to remove a dangerous oak tree from my front yard. From my first conversation with them, I was impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. They sent me an email introducing the arborist who would be coming to my home the day before he arrived for the estimate. I immediately felt as if they had my best interest in mind. The arborist was on time, friendly and extremely helpful. The removal was done quickly and you could really tell safety is a top priority for them. They actually left my property cleaner than it was when they arrived! Afterwards, they followed up to make sure I was completely satisfied. I have done a lot of construction over the years. The crew that removed our tree was the most efficient crew I have ever witnessed. They were very friendly and answered questions, but did an unbelievable job on the tree removal of our large oak, in a small area and keeping it contained. Matt was on the lift and he was great. It was like the lift was part of Matts body. Jeremy run the stump grinder and did a great job. I didnt get the names of the other two crew, but every man knew what they were supposed to do, how to do it, and when to do it. From beginning to clean up. ONeils had the right equipment and the guys knew how to use it. It started raining at the end but they still did a great job cleaning up. It was amazing to watch this crew work.

Roy came out and did an amazing job of teaching me which trees were healthy and just needed trimming and which one was dead and rotted and in danger of possibly coming down. Signed a contract and within days the crew came and took care of all of the work and did a great job of cleaning up. Took me a day to realize the tree was even gone!!!

We recently purchase a 1.6 acre property with extensive number of trees that were in need of care. I decided on Oneils with a combination of a recommendation from my gardener and reviews. The experience from start to finish was great. James Pruitt was my rep. He went over all the trees with us, what he recommended and why, why we did not need to other things we thought we should, etc. The tree trimmers did a great job with a lot of eye to detail and a correct look. After the job was done, I realized we had missed one tree. I contacted James and he looked at his notes, and said he had suggested trimming that one but we declined, which was accurate. Rather than charge us the minimum to return, he arranged with the owner for a discount and it was done a few days later. This was above and beyond. Very highly recommended!

We had a large water oak near hour townhouse that was not in good health and it was recommended by the city that we have it removed. ONeils tree service did a great job organizing everything from obtaining the permit, contacting Duke energy regarding the power lines nearby, and finally removing the tree. I highly recommend them if you are considering having a tree removed.

We had 14 trees removed recently by ONeils. The cutting crew was very professional and friendly when speaking with them. They were very efficient and made a nightmare cleanup extremely easy. The clean up guy was also very friendly and even left a few logs behind for us when asked for firewood. I would recommend them.

They did a very nice job pruning our two large camphor trees to allow more light to fall on our newly installed solar panels. Although not the cheapest the price was fair for the work performed and I would use them again in the future.

We received many recommendations from friends to use them, yet still received a few different quotes before having a few trees removed. They were by far the most professional and had the fairest They took care of all the permitting for us with the county and showed up exactly on time. Very professional and efficient. We would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.

This is full tree removal service. It did not require shut down the the power line. They had huge crane to hold tree and cut piece by piece. It was the safest way to cut tree. We added more trees to remove once we saw how they did. It was amazing. I wish they add tree stump grinding service

We used ONeils Tree Service for the first time in November of 2021 to remove a tree which leaned on my neighbors fence. For start, the impresion that I got from the man who came to give us an estimate, was one you dont see every day! Mr James was serious yet poliet and respectful, professional, knowledgable and patient. And the cost was reasonable. His crew men were of the same characteristic; they did a perfect job and cleaned the area after themselves. I had no problem to rate them with 5 stars!

We had several dead sand oak trees that were dangerously overhanging our walkway. Sara was very helpful in getting the pros from ONeils to assess what it would take to remove the trees and they subsequently performed the service flawlessly.
