I hired City Suburb, Inc to do pointing for my entire brick house, and they did an excellent job. This was a large residential job, and the Managing Partner (Ravi) made sure that all work was performed timely and for a reasonable price. Along with the pointing work, the company also replaced the lintels for most of my windows, which were extremely rusted, and again, the prices were reasonable. We originally hired City Suburb to redo the tuck pointing and repair cracked bricks on the three exposed sides of our rowhouse in the Bronx. We were so pleased with their work that we also had them repair some cracks in our foundation, repair our parapet and patch a low spot on our roof. Ravi and his team were professional throughout the process. The crews showed up when they were scheduled to be there, asked when they had questions, and made a significant effort to pick up after themselves most days. Ravi was somewhat difficult to get a hold of when scheduling and preparing for the work, but once the job had begun he was communicative and responsive. On the final walk through we pointed out some minor issues with the work that needed to be resolved. Ravi s crew came out a few weeks later and took care of those issues. The work was all conducted with a high level of care. The masonry work is excellent. Replaced bricks blend nicely into the existing wall. The mortar is consistently applied and done with care. Copping on the parapet repels water and blends in nicely with the rest of the houses in the row. Roof patch and sealing appear to have helped roof drainage. Foundation sealing looks great.

After a recent rainstorm the ceiling part of my windows were leaking badly in my brand new apartment. I found these guys and they came over and patched everything up. I live hi up and they had no issues climbing up on super tall ladders. They inspected the issue, made recommendations to treat and even prevent future issues with the rest of my building. In 2014 I used City Suburb to replace a portion of my slate roof. In 2020 I needed an emergency repair to another part of my slate roof and they were there within a day. Just this month I used City Suburb to replace the remainder of my slate roof. The workers were always courteous and cleaned up after they were done. That should say it all. Even called months later after a horrible storm to verify satisfaction. First called Ravi back in 2021 to do repair to our homes back wall. His team was punctual, polite and even cleaned up after work was done. Fast forward to end of 2023, a major rainstorm caused leakage in our basement. We called him again - found out the outer wall had holes and out roof needed to be taken care of. While our work was being done, our neighbor asked to Ravis info as he had water damage as well due to the storm. Everything on our side was completed by New Years Eve. Ravi and his crew do excellent work. They are efficient, skilled, and organized. They worked well with us to source bricks that match our 1948 brownstone perfectly. They also put in all new original style ballistrade, railings and ornamentation, as well as a whole new floor, and sealed up everything nice and dry. Drainage is drastically improved, it looks great, and we are enjoying the space again. They also did some weatherproofing and roof work. We have a flat roof with solar panels on it, so its not so straightforward of a job. Theyre skilled pros and did top quality work.

I had Ravi and his guys make some significant repairs to 2 balconies at my house. The work was a combination of metal and masonry. They fixed the cracks and repointed the brick fences at the ends of the decks and patched the holes in the metal that were rotted out from years of water penetration and scraped away all the rust. Finished it off with brick sealant, epoxy paint for the balcony surfaces, and rust oleum for the metal work. This is the 3rd job I have hired City Suburb for and they have always delivered. This has to be one of our best experiences working with contractors. The whole crew were timely, professional and accommodating. Even with last minute changes, Ravi was able to execute and get it done and stay within the deadline. We had some stucco demoed, waterproofing with resurfacing done with a final coat of light color. I discovered a pretty bad foundation leak in my Brooklyn home. Ravi from City Suburb came by and we talked through what it take to repair it. I was worried because the affected parts of the foundation are under a deck that only has 3 foot clearance. He said his guys could do it and they did. In two days they manually excavated through concrete and about 6 feet of dirt, while hunched down under a deck that is only 3 ft off the ground at most. They fixed the foundation walls, applied the sealant materials, restored the dirt and poured a new concrete surface. They were clean, neat, super respectful, and very efficient. Of course time will tell how effective the job is but they clearly take pride in their work and Im confident that Ravi will be responsive if I have any issues. Great company.

My house experienced very severe foundation water leak this year. I selected City Suburb, Ravi and his team to perform the waterproofing work and other repair work because Ravi promised me to use his own team and would provide warranty of his work. And he did as he promised. I waited for couple heavy rain events happened before I posted this review. It was a massive job involved labor intensive soil excavation around the house to five feet below grade, crack sealed entire foundation wall, applied waterproofing membrane, and placed concrete slab. Ravi and his team are very experienced, organized, and professional. They team worked very hard, provided high quality waterproofing work and completed the job in a timely manner. No water leak experienced during the October heavy rain events. They also protected my neighbor s property where got impacted by work, cleaned up, and restored to its original. I received no complaints from my neighbor. It is also worth to mention the other repair work which includes reconstruction of the garden brick for landscaping and restoration of exterior stucco wall. Ravi came up with an idea to close the gap between the patio and the garden brick wall that trapped dirt and leaves. It eliminated my years long headaches. The team is also good at detailing work. The aesthetic finish of the work exceeded my expectation. Ravi and his team did an excellent job. Thank you and I appreciate it.

They had to remove concrete pavement on one side of our house, dig down to create a trench for the 40 foot length, found a part of the outer foundation wall missing (surprise!), which they installed to repair it, put in the waterproof barrier, filled in the trench, and put new concrete pavement the entire length of that side of the house. They did the job in four days, even working on Sunday to finish up. Then they clean up all the debris and washed down the driveway. The owner always replied promptly via phone, and the workers were always on time and worked a full day. We are very satisfied with their work and would recommend them.

This is the third time I hired Ravindar and his crew. I had a lot of work done, replacing lintels, spot pointing, caulking , painting and cleaning the facade of my small apartment building. We had a leak in our basement foundation. After looking online and getting numerous estimates we met Ravi. Ravi showed up on time, thoroughly inspected our issues and came up with a solution. His price was fair. They started the job on time and finished on time. Ravi (the owner) was onsite everyday. I had concerns with the concrete drying properly due to the weather being so cold. Ravi guaranteed his work and said he would follow up in the spring to make sure everything was perfect. He even checked in a few weeks after the job was completed just to make sure we were happy with the work. I highly recommend these guys and will be using them again.

Recently I needed to have tuck pointing and lentils replaced on my house, Ive seen a lot of bad tuck pointing jobs and did a little research on how tuck pointing is supposed to be done. When I spoke to Ravi I knew right away he knew what he was talking about. He gave me a fair price and the workmanship his mend did was impeccable. It looked like freshly paved brick as opposed to the tuck point jobs Ive seen. If you want a proper tuck point job done, call City Suburb and you cant go wrong.

City Suburb and Ravi just completed a brick pointing and waterproofing job at my home. Ravi was very accommodating and easy to reach and dealt with any issue we had. In addition, we are very happy with the quality of the work. The brick pointing portion of the job on our 80 year old home made our home look new along with a new front stoop, adding to an already great job. We worked with Ravi from City Suburb on a quote, and then the work, to re-do our houses brick front steps. Unlike most of the houses in our neighborhood, our steps had curved brickwork, and original old railings we wanted to preserve. Ravi and his team were kind and professional, and worked with us to recreate the steps in the same design. We are very satisfied with the results.

I waited a while to write this review as waterproofing is tricky and scary, and you never quite know if things are really fixed.. Well, here I am almost a year later and Ravinder and his crews repairs to my foundation crack issues (causing leaks in my basement) have held up perfectly! I had gotten quotes and assessments from a couple different companies, and the City Suburb quote was both competitive as well as being the most thorough in scope. They had to dig into the asphalt around my condo building, patch the foundation, re-fill the asphalt and make sure it was sloped away from the building, in addition to fixing some sunken concrete areas elsewhere around the building. I wouldnt hesitate to use Ravinder and City Suburb again, and in fact there are some new structural and waterproofing issues with the building that we are having them assess over the next few weeks. Ravi has always been quick to respond, and is great with his communication.

I called Mr. Ravi in order to get some information on brick pointing of my brownstone. In addition I needed parts of the house and façade painted. I had the back wall and the front wall of an attached brownstone waterproofed, pointed and painted (partially). Mr. Ravi was very professional and sent me a proposal. We also negotiated a fair price. I am not an expert but I saw that all the cracks where filled with waterproof cement and the windows were sealed. The front of my brownstone looks now spectacular. The crew was pleasant and when they finished they cleaned up the job site. I would hire the company again for a similar project. I attaché the before and after pictures.

Needed a few projects done over the course of a few weekends, including sealing the exterior to track down a leak, installing of pavers outdoors to replace a large patch of grass, replacing the front door landing, and getting the driveway concrete re-done. Everything was done well, his team is very heads down, show up early/on time, and get the job done. The projects were done on time and we couldnt be happier with the work.

This is the only contractor I ever called twice. I had my lintel replaced and some tuck pointing done. Ravinder and his workers are very polite and professional. The price was fair and the work was very good. I had to wait a little bit to get the work done, but Ravinder always took my calls. I guess a good contractor is busy.

Ravi and his crew was able to complete a waterproofing job within the time frame we wanted, and did a wonderful job. We had water leaking into the basement after a rainstorm, so they applied a waterproofing coat to the entire back facade of the house. They also removed upto 3/4 inch of old cracked cement at the base of the chimney where the water leak is coming from, and applied the waterproofing coating. Windows and ac units were sealed with caulk.

Writing this review brings up a lot of bad memories/feelings. But I must warn those of you considering these people. Most of these reviews are fake. City Suburb pays hundreds of dollars a month to a company called LinkNow to post reviews monthly for them. Its at the bottom of their website, look for yourself. They post reviews to google, home advisor, yelp, all of them. They also take down negative reviews for a price. They call them citations to try to hide what theyre really doing. Ravinder Singh from City Suburb stole thousands of dollars from me. He changed terms of the contract constantly after signing, invented/added prices, and delivers poor work with his unskilled workers. He charged me $3000 for permits that he never got. After I gave him payment he refused to go get permits and ran off with my money. (Yes, permits were part of the contract that he signed) The concrete driveway he was hired to do looks like children laid it and is starting to crack. One part of it was pitched so wrong that I had to force him to redo it because all the water would have been dumped right into my basement window. He used different color concrete so theres a big patch that is just a different color now. None of the lines are straight and there are no right angles. His workers are very unskilled. The basement cinderblocks he replaced are already showing signs of water coming through. If I can prevent at least one person from falling victim to Ravinder Singh and City Suburb maybe I can finally let this go. There are so many more bad things that happened with these people but this review would turn into an essay if I listed them all. You know what you did Ravinder. I dont know how you sleep at night.

Great masonry work with pointing bricks. Communication could be improved but the works are excellent for a reasonable price.

This is the second time I used City Suburb. This time for the front stoop, and to make new steps to the basement. The job went very quickly once started, and they were clean and organized. Ravinder did his best to accomodate my requests even though he is very busy and gave a fair price.

City Suburb Inc. (Ravinder Singh) just completed masonry work on the exterior of our 4-story brownstone and they did a great job. The work involved removing 3 through-the-wall air conditioners - on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. After removing the air conditioners from inside the house, they used a hoist from the roof to do the restoration work - laying 3 layers of brick to close up the areas where the a/cs had been as well as installing insulation, sheetrock and plaster. After that was complete, they painted a coat of thorocoat on the entire exterior as a waterproofing measure. The work took 2 days, exactly as planned. Scheduling was informal via text with the owner, Mr. Singh. The workers were professional, careful, safe, and pleasant. Everything proceeded on schedule and all was cleaned up afterward. Would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone consider working with them. In the pic -- the air conditioners were removed from below the top left and middle left windows and from below and awning. And the entire exterior was painted with thorocoat.

We hired Ravi and his team to repair and replace our stucco walls on the exterior of our 100 year old house. We had multiple stress fractures in the stucco on the back of the house as well as brick that needed mortar and stucco coverage. The stucco was probably 25 years old! We needed a new drainpipe installed as well as water sealant over the stucco. Additionally we needed some areas sealed on the front of our house where water was coming in. We also had several areas inside the house where we had the brick sealed and waterproofed (around the utilities in the lower level). He did a lot of small areas in addition to the big one. Ravi was attentive and on time with his team every day. He answered my calls and texts right away. He even answered my call at 1am when we had a rainstorm and water was coming in because the new drain pipe hadnt been installed. He was ready to send workers but I told him we could temporarily block the water and it all turned out ok. 2. Ravis workers are polite and clean up after themselves. They even helped my neighbor with a small issue. 3. The quality of the work was great. I appreciated Ravis expertise about older buildings and his honesty. He strives to make his clients happy. He even went the extra mile and replaced some cement around the back of our house near the sewer drain so water wouldnt leak in our basement. He also repaired the stone ledges and waterproofed them for uniformity rather than leaving them looking bad. He knows about what an old building can handle weight wise and repair wise. 4. Ravi and his team quickly correct any mistakes and are very responsive when you have an issue. 5. Ravi is a nice guy. He runs an honest business and I would hire him again. My only criticisms would be that: 1. He should have a foreman on site the whole time to make sure the workers were doing what was requested. 2. I wish he gave us a little more time and advice about selecting a color for the coating. We felt rushed and made a mistake color wise but he was good with correcting it and giving us what we wanted. The workers were really good with painting samples for us to hold up to the house. 3. I am probably pretty extreme when it comes to details and there were a few times when I wished Id been asked before something was done. For example, one of the workers used a really heavy oil paint in an indoor area and I have asthma and pets and would have preferred another type. Ravi quickly corrected it though. 4. Wed agreed upon a price and ended up paying more because we added another area and he found some damage we had missed at our roof line in an interior shaft way we have. He was right that we needed to fix it and so we did and Im happy he found it but we werent expecting the extra cost. Next time Ill make sure all the areas are inspected so we dont have surprises. We still feel the price was fair for the amount of work done. 5. We had some extreme weather during the job. It was horribly hot a few days and rained a few more. We had the final waterproofing done and it rained before it had the chance to set in some places. Ravi came back another time and corrected the areas thats were streaked. My only thought is if wed checked the weather the conditions for the guys and the thorocoat would have been better. All in all, Ravi runs a good business and does a good job. I would highly recommend him and hire him again.

I have a 4 story building lower east side manhattan 31 steet. Received a violation for bulging front brick facade. We hire this company they install scaffolding and sidewalk shed demolish and rebuild brick wall get the job done safely call DOB inspector on the site to get the inspection done. I own a 100+ year old three-story frame building with a stone foundation. Ive had the building evaluated by a structural engineer and he recommended that I have the foundation walls repointed. I contacted City Suburb because of their very high ratings. I was not disappointed. When I contacted Ravi, he was quick to return my calls. He came over, evaluated the job and took photos. Within a few days, I had a written estimate for the job. Although the price was a little steep, I knew that the work was extensive and needed to be done, so I hired him. The job took about a week to complete. But, in the end, I was more than pleased with the results. The walls look brand new. I also know the stone foundation should be able to withstand another 100 years. Ravi and his crew were courteous, professional and quick. I would highly recommend their services. In fact, I re-hired them a week later to install a new brick stoop on the building (which looks fantastic, BTW)! Kudos to City Suburb!
