We have a large weeping silver birch which had become too high and was rather bald in the upper part. We realised that an inept tree surgeon could easily leave a tree like this with visible stumps of branches and looking rather hacked about . Branching Out s website ,and Dan s inspection visit, impressed us with his attention to the finished appearance of the tree and the need to keep it healthy. Dan s work did not disappoint ; the tree is reduced in height ,as we wished, and is now a beautiful shape with no obviously severed branches. It looks much better than we would have thought possible . Dan kept us advised as the work proceeded and involved us in the decisions . We would recommend Branching Out without hesitation.

Dan & Rich are hard workers, very friendly and polite. They did an excellent job of our beech and boundary hawthorn hedges plus a long run of pleached hornbeam in the driveway. We will definitely ask them to quote again for the same work next year. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Dan provided expert initial advice on the work that was required in our large garden. Branching out took on a big task when we contracted them to cut a seriously overgrown Leylandii hedge. In some areas it was 7 mtr tall .The hedge is a living barrier between two private developments and the decision was to cut it down to 5 mtr tall and trim the sides. Wonderful service by Dan & team. They helped tidy a high hedge and the work was carried out very professionally and within the stated quote and timeline. The team members were polite and left the place clean and tidy. They addressed all our requirements. Highly recommended!

We had 4 beech trees and a laurel removed from our front garden. The trees were very difficult to maintain, very very tall and blocking the light to our living room. Dan came to look at the trees and offer some advice about whether to cut them back or remove them. Several of them were quite badly decayed in the trunks so that, along with the inconvenience of maintenance, we made up our minds to get them removed. Dan and Rich removed all the trees and left everything very neat & tidy. They kindly offered some wood us to use next winter on the log burner and even cut it up with the chainsaw as we don t have one. Dan also offered options for replacing a hedge or other options to provide privacy/ encourage wildlife. We have left it empty at the moment as we re thinking of adding a bike shed. Dan and Rich are really friendly, professional and left everything really clean & tidy. Thank you!

Asked Dan to come and remove some trees that were either sickly or dangerous. We asked Dan and the team to take down a massive (40 feet) leylandii that was right next to our house, but sited in a neighbours garden; the proximity of the tree to the building and the branches overhanging the roof were giving us sleepless nights. Dan pollarded a very large willow for us. His work was excellent, despite the very tricky circumstances of it being by a large pond. The tree is beautifully shaped and Dan and his team cleared the ground, brilliantly so it was all left neat and tidy. This is a professional company that uses appropriate safety equipment, does an excellent job and leaves no mess. The owner knows about trees and understands what is required. Could not be better. We contacted several firms about having a tree removed from our back yard. Branching Out responded the fastest and provided the best quote. The days we waited for other firms to get back to us only confirmed how much better Branching Out are at this. Dan talked me through the options and answered all my questions. We set a date to remove the tree. The day after you would never have known it was there, or that any workers had been there, as they cleaned not only my garden but the entire path between my house and the road to avoid any issues with neighbours. You could only remove a tree quicker and more cleanly by travelling back in time and convincing the gardener never to plant it.

Recently had Dan and Rob round to reduce a large conifer in the back garden from 3 trunks, down to 2. Dan also suggested how to raise parts of the canopy to maximise the light coming into the garden while retaining the privacy offered by the tree. Very disappointed in Dans service. He was paid to remove tree stumps from my garden. Half a day for two men he told us. He came alone and left in 4 hours, without cleaning any of the chippings. When I started moving the huge pile of chippings from the centre of my lawn, I discovered a large portion of the root intact and untouched. He did half the job. When I contacted him to come and complete the works, he ignored me, and I have never heard from him since. Friendly doesnt mean good, he will rip you off if he can.

Dan recently removed a tree and ground the stump at the front of our property. He was competitively priced, very professional and friendly. Despite our short notice, he was able to do the work quickly which was a great benefit to us as we were having other ground work done simultaneously. Dan and his team recently undertook a major tidy up of trees bordering my neighbours and our house. The trees were in my neighbours garden. Dan recognised the sensitivity of maintaining good local relationships, discussed the requirements from both parties perspective, put a plan together which he agreed with both of us and then carried out the work to an excellent standard. Our garden feels much bigger as a result, letting in so much more light. We are delighted with the work and even more so with the manner in which the relationships were managed. Many thanks Graham

Dan Edwards has done tree work (taking down a huge century-old apple tree that had died, and pruning other trees) and general gardening for me- brilliant service, he gets the job done efficiently and professionally, and he cares about what hes doing. Excellent firewood provision too.
