I started contracting with TruGreens mosquito defense program last summer. Was super excited to talk to Trugreen specialist they made everything seem so easy in reality we would learn later down the road that it would be a giant mistake. Every treatment was always in the wrong order, we would always call and get a different person with a different excuse then they would tell us it s all strained out. A Trugreen specialist came out at 6:10 in the morning and started air rating our lawn putting hundreds of holes in our lawn it woke up my whole family. We walked outside and asked what are you doing and he said I m supposed to be Air rating this lawn I told him they were supposed to spray for weeds he said what am I doing here So he stopped halfway through our lawn making a huge mess every single time they were charging us hundreds and hundreds of dollars and spent a long time on phone calls, trying to get everything resolved. Spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars and our lawn looks terrible Trugreen is consist of two types of people Commission Saleman and uneducated lawn workers looking for a job in the summer there is no real lawn professionals in this whole entire company. For how much they charge on every single service you would think it would be top notch work. This is a giant corporation you are not a customer to this company you are just another number. Very sad that this company is not what they advertise.

I just tried your service this year and I am pleased with the results. When they treated my lawn I went to speak to the person doing the work about some weeds in the back yard. I realize the hot summers has been a real weed promoter. When I told him he said oh yes I saw that, and I am refilling to take care of that. Very pleased he noticed and took care of it.

I will not be renewing my contract. I have called, I have written, asking to apply Pesticide s in the spring and the fall. The rest of the time I want just fertilizer. For whatever reason your company cant do this so I am going to another company. James Stefanie 138 Walton Dr.

Very hard to reach someone. And when you do, everyone has a different answer to your question. I been trying to get service going for 6 weeks. They dont have a local office. I prepaid for service and was scheduled. The truck shows up in front of the house to do the service and a minute later leaves. Called them to see what happened and they tell me that I have been rescheduled for two weeks later. Ill find another company, then to deal with the headaches.

I would give them zero worse company to deal with. Changed my schedule. Only did the front lawn not backyard or side yard. Still waiting to have them finish the job. Awful service.

Customer service is way out of town and can only do what the computer says.

I prepaid for a years services in mid-June last year. I should have 3 services left over but Im being charged for every service this year. When i contact TruGreen, they tell me that all my pre-paid is used up. Either theyre incompetent or theyre cheats. Not good either way

Fast service with professional people

I do like the communication via texts and phone calls, but this is the 2nd time this year that they burned several spots in my lawn due to over spraying in a small area.

They listen to what you want or need and if necessary, they advise and inform on chemicals, landscape, and application. Ive read all these reviews just now and have never experienced any of those issues. They answer the phone, the technician who comes to the house is awesome and knowledgeable. I dont know what else other people expect, but they are a great company. I have them apply the lawn pest control for prevention of fleas and ticks and mosquitoe control. Ive been a customer since Spring of 2021.

The young lady returned a call at 830pm, not cool! Then had very long periods of silence while figuring out thing out, had a strong feeling she had no idea what she was doing. Very little training... reflects poorly on the company. Went with a local company That I could talk to someone that could answer my questions without referring to a computer and having long periods of silence. There are other negative feelings, theses are shared by other previous comments.

Extremely unhappy with TruGreen last year was the worst our lawn looked in years. Played phone tag with them last year after one of our lawn decorative globes was destroyed and issue still not resolved. Other issues as well...lawn not all the same color of green and I was told that I had different grasses and it was not because of the service I received. It looked like one row of lawn was treated and another row was not treated. Called to cancel service this year and spoke to someone named Patrick. High pressure person that I could not get off the phone with and I just want TruGreen to cancel the service for my residence. Going with another lawn service this year.

No. I wont due to the fact they have called me each and every day since I filled out a questionnaire. Im shopping. I dont need to be harassed. Oh and they used various numbers also so you cant tell who is actually calling you.

VERY SNEAKY!! I signed up for lawn care services last year. Truegreen came out and did the services and they were OK. Over the winter I got calls trying to solicit me for more services for this year, said no thank you. Fast forward to mid April, I get a call from Trudy (the automated calling service from truegreen). I hung up immediately thinking it was another telemarketer trying to tell me my cars extended warranty was about to expire. Sure enough a few days later I go home and the little yellow stakes are planted in my yard, they had come and done a service.. Other than the call from Trudy , I revived no communication that the service was occurring this year, no email with updated prices, nothing. I called to see what was going on, and the person on the phone mentions, oh yeah, the service is reoccurring until it s canceled . At no time when I signed up for the service was there mention that the service was reoccurring, plus the calls soliciting me over the winter made me think it wasn t reoccurring!! I reviewed the original contract and it lists possible date ranges for the services, above the list it says years 2020- 2024 , I suppose I didn t think anything of that originally, maybe if I signed up for the service the next year the dates would be similar. Other than that small hint, there was no mention in the contract that the service was reoccurring. I called and canceled the service, the guy on the phone said OK , no mention of how much it would cost, If there were cancelation fees or anything. Got a 50$ charge on my card a few days later. A little unethical in my opinion, in my case they really misled me the first year thinking it was a year-to-year service. No email communication either with new price or mentioning the service is starting again. If this didn t happen I honestly would have considered using truegreen again, but certainly not now.

In one year under TruGreen care my lawn went from best on the street to dead. I first emailed them to let them know (mailbox couldn t receive emails) Then I asked them to call me before the next service so I could explain what was wrong. They didn t call. Then they sent someone out to assess. He said that the difference of color is due to different grass types. If the grass types are dead and alive I agree. 50% of my lawn is burnt and dead from their treatments and he tells me it s different grass types. Spent $700 in a year for treatment, dethatcing, and overseeding. And all I got was a dead lawn. I do not recommend.

True Green damaged my lawn last year by applying a treatment to the newly planted grass that killed the new grass within a few days. They have consciously promised to repair the area damaged but keep delaying saying they do not have the soil needed to perform the repair. Numerous calls to True Green have resulted in a few call backs with no resolution just passing me from one person to another person.

They fertilize so that my lawn stays green.

I feel when they are adding extra besides the usual visit, you should be inform so you will be able to have options

Trugreen was over last week I happen to be outside doing yard work. I notice how there was hardly anything coming out of there hopper.I wave twice to the young man,you think he would wave back. Maybe he didnt see me. Well anyway we have many weeds. The lawn doesnt look any better than last year.

I also used their shrub service which rejuvenated my shrubs.

TruGreen bought out Funk Lawn Care. Since then the service has been terrible. I just sprayed over 100 weeds on the side of my driveway (200 ft long). The guy that sprays is a good guy that seems to care. I can only guess that it is a watered down product. I cancelled today.

Don t waste your money. 6 treatments and I have more weeds now then the start of the summer. Constantly calling to up sell.

Terrible service,My lawn was replaced with sod 8 years ago and was beautiful every year until we used TruGreen.buttercups,clover,dandelions and crabgrass.I called to tell them something was wrong and they told my it s too late,I have an application coming up in two weeks,then I have to wait two weeks.I told them it wasn t working and they hung up on me.I will Not use them next year!!! I call BS on the five star made up reviews! My neighbors are all having the same experience.

Trugreen service is an absolute sham from the service Funk provided. First, when I noticed a few dandelions early in the season, I rang and the woman who took my call was quite snarky about having to sign a specific form. I did so and physically posted it. Still no servicing. I rang again and a gentleman was quite apologetic and said they would do a service free of charge. A sign in my door says that they came but my lawn is loaded with crabgrass, creeping Charlie and some other unidentifiable weeds in multiple places in both the back and front yards. I am withholding any payment at this point because I don t think they are actually applying anything at our home!! I have taken multiple photos as well, will post ASAP.

We used Funk for years and were very happy with the service. Since TruGreen bought them out my lawn looks terrible... Weeds and crabgrass everywhere. When I complained they told me it wasnt the right time of year to spray for weeds. What???!?!? Thats what I thought I was paying for....

I did business with Funk Lawn Care, when they sold out to Tru Green, a company I wasnt familiar with, I thought Id give them a try, I chose to pay per application instead of prepaying the full year service to make sure Id want to continue business with them, I cancelled services with them due to the Pandemic, told them I would call back to resume service when I could, I called back, they claimed their policy changed, demanding to have my credit card info on file, they wanted me to prepay for service, ALL of which was not comforting for me, so, I told them to take me out their system & I will look elsewhere. I was treated as if I needed them more they needed me, their representative was trying to talk over me throughout the whole time, I told the rep that their policy should affect someone that they have a hard time collecting payments from & not someone who hasnt shown bad credit with them. I would rather spray my own lawn care than to do business with Tru Green, I KNEW I WASNT GOING TO LIKE TRU GREEN. Tru Green confirmed my SUSPICIONS!

I have called and spoken to Trugreen 3 times in the past 2 weeks attempting to make an appointment to have someone come look at my lawn, which has been treated by them for many years. I believe I have grubs and other problems. I wanted and specifically asked for an appointment for a face to face so we could see and discuss issues and prices. Their phone system and interface system is a mess. In the 3 phone calls I spoke with 3 different people 2 who were not located in the Buffalo area. Very pleasant, listened and promised that someone would call to make an appointment to see and talk with me. Yesterday the lady on the phone said she thought that we should be there today or tomorrow , but could not narrow the time frame down, tell me who was coming. She also said she would call me back yesterday when she knew. AT 06:14 THIS MORNING, my wife received a call from the service tech Im in your driveway noting he was told to call before he arrived. Nice guy did what he was told to do, I hold no animus towards him and thanked him for coming . He looked at the lawn, said that he didnt know if the damage was grubs... maybe , and that it looked like drought damage despite seeing seeded and growing Kentucky Bluegrass in areas ( thats tough to grow ) He asked to take pics to show his boss who went to school for this stuff and noted he has been with the company for 3 WEEKS and said he was not an expert in lawn care. He also gave me Bobs phone number. I called Bob at 0630. He was at home getting ready for work Bob did not say why they did not call during business hours yesterday to make an appointment with me but said he would call me. I await a response. This whole situation does not meet any standard of practice ( even making allowances for the times we are in) and I am hesitant about continuing to do business with Trugreen.

Terrible! Paid up front for season. Had one treatment and called when second scheduled treatment never happened. Young man on phone said that they must have gone to wrong house. Never came to give my lawn 2nd treatment that was already paid for. Will hire a different lawn service next year.....live and learn! I am done withTruGreen Lawn.

TruGreen is very professional and a great business to work with. They always call so you know when they are coming and show up as scheduled. Their techs are very friendly and courteous. We have a dog and they always make sure to close the gate and leave everything as they found it. I highly recommend them!

TruGreen is the absolute worst. After we told them the application of weed spray wasnt taking care of the mushrooms and weeds, they sprayed so much chemicals that it killed my grass. We called and complained, they offered a free spray and to reseed the lawn, but then charged another $100. The person who answered the phone hung up on me, then just kept dropping my calls. NEVER using them again!

I used funk services for about 20yrs till truegreen bought them out.Recently I called 3 times to get a supervisor to stop out to talk to about my lawn,a lot of promises someone will be in touch nothing yet. Theres lots of other places that do the same services Im thinking about it.bigger company isnt always better they lose touch with u.

No direct contact with local provider. The reviews say it all. Corporate should stop texting and telling everyone sorry. And hold the local provider accountable. I dont care about sorry I want the problem sliced.

If I need your service in between my normal applications, theres no issue with coming out right away. Thats great customer service.

I had 4 treatments that I prepaid for in the fall of 2019. They came at the right times of the season and controlled most of the weeds and crabgrass. I noticed they miss weeds & crabgrass along the sidewalks and driveway. Overall they are reliable and trustworthy.

TruGreen provided weed control, mosquito defense service, micronutrient fertilization of lawn, trees and shrubs. Knowledgeable and professional staff. Highly recommended.

TruGreen always alerts me to upcoming treatments in case the schedule needs to be adjusted. One issue I have is that like many other services, the technicians never seem take the treatment to the actual edge of the lawn, hence that is where the weeds grow.

My brother in law worked for true green up until his untimely passing this halloween. He loved the job and his co-workers. His fellow co-workers and management attended his service and it was easy to see what a great group of people they are. Even after that they went above and beyond to help my widowed sister. They dont offer power-raking/De-thatching, Instead of telling me this the employee kept trying to sell me things I dont need. Very dishonest.

They were very responsive to my needs. The technician left thorough details in writing about what he sprayed and when. Their services were affordable and they didnt try to pressure me to purchase more services than I wanted. I worked with the Orchard Park, NY location. My lawn looks great!!

Service was great. Water in spots were avoided by the machine and the teck used a hand spreader. The lawn looks great.

Terrible! Terrible customer service, terrible managers, got different people from different cities branches etc every time I called, they sprayed in windy conditions without my authorization nor sign contract/service agreement etc!, When on my property the wind over sprayed onto brand-new hibiscus tree & sunflowers & wilted them. Theyv never followed through with anythin I discussed with them, not one of them. Every time you got someone on the phone they contradicted what the last person told you, told you something different, and that was never followed through with either! Not when they were going to show up, not when they said they were going to send an e-contract for me to sign, not when they said they were going to call back, be out by end of the week, not when they said they were going to escalate it to a manager, nor when the manager was supposed to call me back, the list goes on! the very day I told him I finally had enough and wanted nothing to do with her company, and advise them I wanted a full refund..... They came out 3 hours later, AFTER I told them I wanted nothing to do with them! They had no business on my property, had no sign service agreement whatsoever from me to do so, sprayed during a windy day, & they overspray o onto and destroyed my hibiscus tree & sunflowers that I had just purchased. They also came out prior to me even signing their contract or service agreement which is against New York state law. They should not be spraying there pesticides or chemicals on a windy day! Be very careful & cautious that they dont destroy your brand new flowers or existing landscaping that you might have due to working under the windy conditions. I am awaiting not only a full refund because they only refunded me minus the first application which I did not authorized by telling them that I didnt want their service any longer to begin with..... But reimbursement for my damaged sunflowers & hibiscus tree. Items that I mentioned were fine when I left the house in the morning and shriveled leaves and flowers when I came home from work 9 hours later, or a mere 3 hrs after they treated. Im still awaiting a call from their general manager of the Orchard Park NY location. After I had to escalate it further even after I spoke with their customer care coordinator in the Buffalo office who assured me that I would be getting a phone call from the service manager regarding this matter today. Go to Weedman! Dont be fooled by the cheaper price from TruGreen. Weed man has comprable prices, better customer service, better communication, & they actually seem like they care. Also, added bonus.....their products are organic...... you dont have to worry about your pets and children walking on chemicals, nor product being sprayed around your pool.

This is the first time I ve ever tried a lawn care service and so far so good; my lawn looks great. I can t yet give 5 stars because, to be totally fair, we ve had an inordinate amount of rain and - as we all know - lawns love water. The True test will be around August.

Pre-paid and they never came to fertilize my lawn. Signed contract in April it is now June 11th. I will call and cancel tomorrow hopefully Ill get my money back. Ive called them 4 times and they always say Ill put you on the schedule right away HAHA. Dont put an inquiry in as a different sales person will call you everyday.

Google ad says open till 8:30,got automated response saying theyre closed call during normal business hours. Called at 7:15,what are your hours.

If I could give this company no stars I would! First initial service they were supposed to do only one they completed 2 and didn t tell me and billed me. Not to mention the fact that the guy who initially came didn t even do anything and did the wrong part of the yard so I had to of course call and they had to send a repeat service which you have to wait 7 to 10 days for. That guy did a good an okay job except it s done nothing but kill our grass and not take care of the initial reason why we hired them! Had to correct the guy on where they were to do the services as it s the front part of our lawn. Again we said okay we want this guy to be the guy who comes out next time so we don t have to explain ourselves yet again. 2nd service scheduled for today. They didn t schedule the same guy even though they said that they would. Happened to see the trugreen truck literally fly by our house. Looked him up on the map and saw he was WAY past our house, get a notification unable to preform service as there was lawn crews on our lawn. What?!!! Are you kidding me ?! There s absolutely no nothing on our lawn or anyone at our house except for me! I called immediately and said I m done. A person paying for a service shouldn t have to spend half their time on the phone with company for issues. If you need a lawn service I would think about other companies that s probably why I see a lot more Weedman trucks out there than I do Trugreen not at all impressed at all and would definitely not recommend the headache. I m just going to get out my cart and run around the yard like they do for 10 minutes good exercise and a lot freakin cheaper.

Generally,good service,however I`m having more weed than normal.I have to spot spray weed killer to control weed growth.Something I prefer not to do.

All services were good except for airation and overseeding. Absolutely no grass grew. They came back last week and reseeded. One week later no sprouts. Sure was s waste of $200. Its now Sept 2019, and Ive completed my service. The workers came when they were suppose to (PLUS). They claimed to know on the door, but I was home and did not hear them (NEG). I did go outside and talk to the workers. I contracted Tru-Green becasue I had a crabgrass problem. The were suppose to put down a premeregent as well as treat in the summer. I did not see a reduction in crabgrass (NEG). They even came out two times in August-September to treat for crab grass (PLUS). Their treatments did nothing (NEG)! Im not going to use their service in 2020. Instead I found a crabgrass product that is suppose to work. For around $60, Ill treat the crab grass myself. Only three stars (at best) cause, overseeding and crabgrass control did not work.

They actually HARASS you if you decide not to go with them after the 1st year. They then will send send you bills for services they didn t do. There are plenty of options out there. This should not be one of them. Just be prepared.

Over the last 3 years using TruGreen, my lawn has gone from crabgrass and creeping charlie, to an amazingly lush carpet of grass. Thank you!!

Awful experience start to finish.

Paid for TruGreen for lawn aeration. Marked my lawn using white lawn paint for where not to aerate due to buried fiber-optic line. Bright white, bold outline with giant Xs. Clear as day....they went right over it regardless and cut my fiber-optic line. Called to complain and they said too bad. Ridiculous. ***Update 9/10 - Got a call back and talked to a rep. Will be refunding the cost of the lawn aeration since Verizon did not charge to fix the line replacement. Happy they made things right in the end.

Missed their first scheduled service, texted me all day, stating we re on our way... . At 8pm texted they were not coming. Two days have passed and they have not notified me to reschedule. I paid in advance. Worst customer service! Masters of deception!
