We just finished the backyard sprinkler system and will have landscaping rock next week. I cannot put into words how well they take care of us. Disclosure- I’ve never used the company but will going forward! I was in a car accident with my two small children and one of their crews (Darius and Andy) immediately stopped and helped get both of my babies safely out of the car. Darius brought my infant around the front so I could physically see that she was okay. Such GOOD, kind people. We were so thankful they acted so quickly.
I was introduced to TLC years ago when I needed some lawn renovation and TLC did a great job. For nearly 20 years they have done my sprinkler repair and maintenance. Over the years they have replaced a controller, enabled remote access for periodic system checks, replaced a number of heads, and other repairs. I have always received good scheduling, communications and on-time service.
I have used TLC for the past 4 or five years to treat my large yard for weeds and also to fertilize. They have been prompt, thoughtful and have remembered to shut my gates. They leave an invoice on the door with any reminders. The price is reasonable for the great service. Highly recommend.
I’ve been using TLC for 10+ years and have had a great experience with them. They have never missed an appointment and continue to offer me returning customer discounts. The staff is always great with answering questions and retuning calls as well.
I recently had to have an emergency repair to my backflow system. I called TLC at 3:15 in the afternoon, and the repair was completed about an hour later. I was out of town at the time, and so grateful they were able to help me on such short notice. I have used their service since they installed my system over 20 years ago. Very nice people to work with, and I have no complaints.

I sent an email about wanting to cancel my service in late June and finally got a response from one of the owners a month and a half later saying that I apparently didn't cancel my service the correct way. They did 2 services after I sent my email and even forwarded them the email chain and still was unable to get a refund. So how they advertise on their website about being customer service oriented is apparently not the case. Here is a direct quote from their website.................."TLC Lawn Care, Inc. was founded with the consistent and unwavering principle of "customer service first". Since 1986, our goal remains 100% complete customer satisfaction." Not sure why a simple refund for services that I thought I was cancelling would be so hard. I work in customer service and know the importance of taking care of something so simple. I wasn't asking for anything to be free or discounted just because, I had requested my service be cancelled and then when it wasn't I then was just simply asking for a refund. And now I want other people to know that if you have their service make sure you jump through the correct hoops to get money back. Not saying they don't do good work, that's not what this complaint is about just the fact that they pride themselves on customer service but it wasn't good for me. I hope this reaches the proper people so that they know the process is broken.

Matt Dawson has been fantastic! He has been able to create a treatment plan to keep our lawn green and healthy! Our house is in an area where the clay soil makes it difficult to keep the lawn looking good.

I ve been using TLC for years. They are always professional and the yard looks great.
For the past several years I have used this company for my lawn. HOA will mow and remove leaves and spring cleanup. But I still need the lawn fertilized throughout the summer season and weeding and trimming. I like the work they do and the cleanup, if needed, is always complete. And with all companies problems can arise. When I have had an issue they return my call and had it settled quickly, not making excuses.
I have had TLC help me with my lawn and trees for years. I contract with them to get a savings as well.
They charged me for sprinkler job I did not authorize ($136) and sprinkler shut off which I was not informed that there is a charge ($85). I believe that this company is not trustworthy. I

Grade F- I use to have a good review for this company from 6 months ago but, have been unable to get in touch with this companys mgmt to give my complaint concerning problems with this companys service. In the past, when Ive called ahead to skip a week in mowing, they sent out a crew regardless and then its hard to get them to refund their automatic payment refunded. (they insist on setting up weekly withdrawls) The biggest problem was the poor mowing, no trimming,(esp lawn program applications) went outside to tell them & the two guys ignored my trying to tell them from my yard (acting like they didnt see me/ us) driving off quickly heading down the street & just sat in their truck at the round-about just looking at us waving at them to come back. Approx 5 minutes later they headed up our street slowly, then the driver leaned against his door, blocking facing the street outright (and us) & with his left hand up against his window as he past by faster, blocking our images from his sight, then slowed down and throughly ignored our motioning and pleadings to stop. Since then, Ive called leaving messages to call me to discuss to no avail. They dont care. Ive given them many chances (and tips) in the past! However, (Kennedys good in customer service & Richard is professional- but doesnt make up for all the unprofessionalism) And now, happy after hiring a new professional & reliable mowing service with better conduct than this company.

Terrible customer service. Called them out 4 times to fix the same leak in our system and finally had to call another company to fix the issue, which they accomplished on the first try. The TLC repair person told us there was nothing wrong with our system and that we must have hit an underground spring. Matt Becker, the irrigation manager, refused to adjust the charges from the 3d service call, even after the new company had to re-do the botched repairs. They lost a good long-time customer over a few hundred dollars. Good riddance.
Edited: The guy who met with us was told we wanted weed mat and agreed. The contract specifically states clean up beds. None of this was done. It looked worse then when we started! When we called at least 3 times to find out why work had not been done or done poorly the owner said the guy did not work for them anymore so he did not know what he had promised us. He also proceeded to be very disrespectful and yell at me over the phone. With so many other quality landscape companies in the area save yourself a huge headache, time and hassle and pick somebody else!! The worst company ever! Our pool subdivision signed to contact in May. They still havent blown out our sprinkler system. They have not completed the job. The owner continued to argue and kept giving excuses on why they did such a poor job. I would never recommend this company. Very poorly run and they dont care about customers.

TLC has taken care of our lawn - close to an acre - for several years now performing a series of pawn treatments over the course of the year and last year TLC also verticut and seeded our lawn. Always excellent friendly service with great communication. I heartily recommend their services.

I asked TLC for two separate issues, my sprinkler system with replacing heads and adjustments as well as relocating heads and I started a project of building a two and three layer rock front flower wall. They were here quickly and took care of all my sprinkler issues. I know they have lots of customers asking for landscaping projects but they are doing everything thing they can to fit me in their schedule. I would recommend TLC to anyone, I have seen their work and they professionals. Derek.
Steve has come to my house twice to 1) fix a broken sprinkler line and 2) blow out my sprinklers. Both times he has done a fantastic job. He showed the broken sprinkler line to my wife and fixed it and adjusted other sprinkler heads. All this was done quickly and very affordably. He has also come to blow out my sprinkler lines and he did a great job also. He ran me through exactly what he was doing and explained things to me. He is knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Will be using TLC and requesting Steve for all my other needs. Thanks very much!
After servicing a neighbors lawn they stopped at my drive way to throw their trash from their truck in my yard waste bin. If they can t tell the difference between a trash bin and a yard waste bin they are not in the right line of work.
I wouldn t have rated them a 1 Star. The customer service is horrible. I called last fall to cancel my service cause I was moving, whoever I spoke with obviously didn t mark my account right when I called. So they mowed this spring and now trying to bill me for it. And Candi is emailing me threatening to send me to collections over their mistake. This company doesn t take fault in mistakes done on their end, they punish the client. DO NOT USE TLC LAWN CARE!! Their policies on how to treat clients isn t fair!
I hired TLC because my grass wouldn t grow well, I had them seed it and after a few weeks of TLC s treatment I have seen great improvement! The employees work hard and do a good job on my yard!

Great company! They do everything in my yard and designed my entire front yard! They even do my snow removal and clean snow off my back deck early and stairs so my dogs can get in and out! Love all their crews! Even know most of the guys names!

TLC is not just a lawn care provider, but a partner in what we want to do with our yard now and in the future. We are extremely pleased with their treatment program and very happy with the in-ground sprinkler system they installed for us this summer. I used this lawn company for two years and was not happy with them. I called back in January to cancel services for this coming year because I hired another lawn company. Pulled up to my house a couple of weeks ago and they had been here to treat my lawn. I called to tell them I had canceled services back in January. They said they had no record of it so I m stuck paying the $58 bill. I never write reviews, but this is a joke. I highly do not recommend this company. If anything, it s $58 and you think for that small if amount they would show good customer service and write it off.
Did not mow my entire lawn and said they could not change my bill to reflect half. Thats amazing because it is called credit to your account. I guess they do not know how to manage their books. Will be leaving them soon to find another service.
Be leery as this company has a NO refund policy which includes PRE-paid services that you havent even received yet, but canceled. Check out the Better Business Bureau as eight complaints have been filed.

Its amazing how people will take the time out of their day to publicly bash a company for getting under their skin, but wont give the same consideration to go out of their way praise them for a job well done. Ive never had anything but good service from TLC. Granted, its not 100% perfect 100% of the time, but if I ever have a question or concern, a call or email to the right department manager clears things up. Seems like other reviewers here might not understand things like continuous services or company policies or peak seasons. Ive never had to prepay for any service Ive ordered. If Im calling in the springtime to set up mulch for my beds (or whatever) and a live person doesnt answer the phone, it might be because Im not their only customer! But I do leave a message and they always call me back, which is good because I certainly wouldnt want to have to do all the work on my lawn myself. Im perfectly happy paying TLC to keep my lawn looking beautiful. Thanks TLC!

HORRENDOUS! The company requires a pre-pay of all services. It was easy enough to set up service, but little did I know that they would not perform the work as paid. I requested a sprinkler system start up and standard backflow test to be performed. The technician came and walked around the yard for 15 minutes before deciding that the whole system needed to be replaced. Their quote was outrageous and I sought a second opinion. Long story short, this company did not perform the backflow test (by the way is more expensive than most of their competitors) but they refused to give me a refund. A report has been filed with BBB after trying to work with their negligent staff. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
Horrible Communication and Service!!! I called TLC to come out and install mulch as well as lay some sod and put in rock. The guy came out and met with me and we went over everything. He was very nice and had some great suggestions. I was scheduled for the first week in May and so that Monday I had to call to find out when they were coming. I was informed that because I had added the sod and rock that I had been moved to the 16th. No problem. The 16th comes and once again I had to call to find out what time they would be out. I was informed that I was now on the schedule for the afternoon of the 18th. After not hearing anything from them at all, I called them late afternoon of the 18th and was told that they were running late on a different job and that it would be the next afternoon. I was assured that someone would be out there. No one called and no one came. The following Monday someone showed up at 10:00 AM. She had very limited details of the job and was only able to complete half of it. She did a good job of mulching, but the sod and rock portion was not what the supervisor and I had discussed. I called him and told him that it was not completed and he agreed to meet with me on a Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM to look it over. No one called and no one showed up. So much of this could have been avoided if they knew how to pick up a phone to inform their customers and stick to the time frames they give their customers. Instead, they keep you in the dark and show up whenever they want. Very disappointing to say the least. I have informed them that I wont be paying for the job until they come out and complete it.

We hired them because others in our neighborhood use them, and their lawns look very good. They never burned our lawn with their treatments, and the yard looked fine for the most part, except for the time they had to come out three times to reapply the weed treatment. One specific problem I had with them was over communication issues, which took too long to resolve. If it wasnt for these issues, we would have resigned with them and I would be giving them at least four stars. Theyll do a fine job on your yard, if you want to hire them. Just get everything in writing.
I purchased annual services with 6 applications and they dont come until you contact them and ask for services. Most time no one answer the phone and no one reply my message or email.

I had been a customer with TLC for a few years. They applied my lawn treatments. This year we had some issues with my mower and we decided to sign up for the lawn cutting service. They were coming by weekly and they come to my place fairly early before I leave. My grass had been going dormant and hadnt grown much but they arrived and basically ran the mower over my already low grass. The next week they show up and I catch them before they get started. My lawn didnt need it so I walked up to the guys who looked like they were waiting for us to leave and asked if they made a decision at all if the grass needed to be cut. They informed me that they were instructed to cut whether it needs it or not. I found this odd and told them that my lawn didnt need it and they left. They asked that I call the office to let them know to avoid them getting into any trouble. I made the call and left a message for the guy whose name I cant remember. That evening I got a call back from the guy reiterating what I heard that morning. That no decision was made. They would come and run their mower over my lawn and cut nothing and then charge me for the service. I let him know then that I didnt want my lawn cut anymore. He went into money mode pretty quick and asked if I have been with them for 8 weeks. I assume that my wife must have signed up for a minimum of 8 weeks. It had actually been 10 weeks so that tactic didnt work out for him. So then he wanted to ask if we wanted to go to every 2 weeks. The answer to that is a no now that he approached the conversation in that way. So I ask to discontinue both lawn application and the cutting. I wont do business with a company who is just going through the motions to make money. Then taking an attitude of let me get as much money as I can (8 week minimum) and only then look to make some sense of a cut schedule (every 2 weeks). So I dont do reviews online often. I am a pain in the butt sometimes so it could just be me. My story however was not over. I check my account where my wife had setup auto pay. The final payment included a charge for the day that I told them not to cut my lawn. The explanation I got was that the GPS showed that they arrived and were at my house for a certain amount of time. So ignore what I said. All of this is fine and whether they refund that payment or not it has prompted me to share my story here. I get the need for businesses to seek profits but customer service and actually having a vested interest in customer satisfaction should also count for something. I hope the $35 was worth the bad press. I wont just say 1 star either rather 2 because I did use the service for a few years from a lawn application perspective. Just keep this in mind for the lawn mowing portion.
